121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has this ever happened to you as a gambler? on: April 27, 2024, 09:14:18 PM
Gambling in this situation when you know that you don’t have enough money is a very big problem and you will continue to put yourself on the stress so I wouldn’t advise anybody to do such thing because it’s not good. Yes a lot of people do the same thing I have also experienced it from somewhere, someone that did the same thing gambling with that no money so it’s not a good thing. Gambling is a very big risk only gamble when you are fully ready to pay for anything
This is actually both a sign of addiction and being greedy for money. With that, you end up losing your right thinking that it’s impossible to gamble without money on your own, but because you want to satisfy your gambling urge and try your luck if you can make a big win, then you resort into making a stupid decision that will only put your life at a more miserable situation, and you might get banned from the casino if you make this as a habit.

This is obviously not right. Learn to gamble when you have extra money, an amount that you are comfortable of losing, and not that you try to gamble without thinking the possible outcome of your wrong decision making.
122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don’t like the term “crypto” on: April 27, 2024, 12:00:04 AM
Not a fan of it either because cryptography aside, 'crypto' sounds so edgy like it's some sort of teenager counterculture thing. But yea what can we do — it's now pretty much a household word that it's too late to change. Even 'DeFi' and 'WEB3' didn't stick as much as 'crypto'.
Not that fan also. But the fact that it’s given already and all we can do is just to accept it wholeheartedly most especially that it’s giving us the exceptional profits that no any other type of investment can offer. To be honest, crypto sounds more of a scam feature, but we all know that it’s not like that. And with our valuable experiences with crypto, all I can say that whatever its name denotes, the fact that we are benefiting from it most often, then we should just live with it.
123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin proven many times holders won't regret on: April 26, 2024, 11:43:27 PM
~
However, until now I am also one of those people who cannot hold bitcoin for a long period of time. Even though I believe in promising profits, the economic situation is not yet supportive, I continue to use the investment money I have and always pass up this opportunity.
Holding without a good reason or goal, simply never works --it will be just an imagination.
Just like before, I really find it hard because of many temptations and sometimes I've been affected by my emotions and doubts. Because even in your mind you have trusted Bitcoin and believed that it would pump during the bull season but if never control your emotions, you still end up selling all your Bitcoin before ATH. And it was worse when doubts were still in your mind despite you see the potential of Bitcoin.
Quote
That's why altcoins are always my choice for short-term investing.
Be careful of your choice because not all altcoins are worth investing in.
Yes, if you don’t put an essence to it, you will never succeed on it. Hodling is like a roller coaster of emotions, sometimes you’re at your highest when you are seeing bitcoin price in surge but when it drops, it creates a reversal of emotions. If you don’t have patience and emotional control, you will never be suitable with hodling.

However, I’m not saying that short term investing may not be profitable but if you are up for massive profits, long term hodling is the best proven option.
124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lies told to cover up gambling habit on: April 26, 2024, 10:59:26 PM
Why he act like he broke a very critical thing? come on, a lot people lies almost everyday!

If you have a food and beverage business, will you tell someone about the secret of your business e.g. your supplier, the ingredients, cooking skills, and your profit every month if they ask it?

Same to this case, lying if the best time is into a bed with her is fine, but it's just not okay for you that you're an addict and not want to cure your addiction.
I guess lying for the sake of gambling is not actually surprising. A lot of people create lies so they can sustain their urge in gambling, and even myself is not an exception. Well, that’s how when I was still starting with gambling and eventually get hooked to it that fast. To the point that I have to lie that all my funds are used up with those high priced bills when in reality I screwed them all to gambling.

However, I’ve learned my lesson now and that there’s no way that I would be lying again just to satisfy myself with  my gambling habits. I can gamble with my spare funds, but using all my hard-earned money for gambling, that won’t never happen again.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the number of new investors reduce? on: April 26, 2024, 10:38:09 PM
I don't think that new Bitcoin investors will decrease in the future, seeing the potential of Bitcoin in the future makes many retail investors interested in entering this market. Maybe right now many of these retail investors are still waiting and seeing what market conditions will be like, but if the market shows bullishness later, I'm sure that they will immediately enter and invest their money. It just takes time.
If bitcoin will continue to increase its price in the future, that would even attract more investors coming in the market. Regardless of what had happened with this current halving, I don’t think it will matter a lot to them when they see bitcoin price skyrocket again in the future. Know that people are greedy with money, so most likely as long as bitcoin offers more money making opportunities, then people will never miss it but will continue to take advantage with what bitcoin has to offer. So I am optimistic that bitcoin investors will get massive in the future, just like how huge the potentials of bitcoin is.
126  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How possible can a forum memeber visiting foreign local board here? on: April 25, 2024, 11:37:37 PM
We can visit other local boards and can join their discussions if we fully understand their language but if we just use a translation tool, we better not do it. Not because it was not allowed or if there is a penalty but it is just like showing respect to them. Honestly, it was hard to keep using a translator board for the sake of communicating with other people.

I ask you a question, what is the main reason for doing this? Because I don't believe it is just to discuss with them about Bitcoin investment as it was already discussed in your local board as well.

Anyway, I hope that OP got the answer already.
Everyone is free to visit and post on other local boards, provided that you also understand their medium of instruction so that you can maximize the ideas you want to share, as well as you also learn from their own insights and ideas. But when it comes to hiring a translator in order to create a good communication, that’s already breaking the rule of the forum. If you think you aren’t good enough using other language, then just stick on your own local board. If you really are a good poster, you can attract merits without entering other local boards and violating the forum rules.
127  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading campaigns helps level up trading for traders on: April 25, 2024, 10:40:00 PM
Except for maybe just gaining experience, a variety of traders lose out on the rewards that are usually given out to the few. Such competitions mostly favor whales as they have very high trading volumes unlike retail traders with small accounts.

Compared to the prizes top traders win, exchanges often make a lot from trading fees in such competitions. They are just aimed at upping an exchange's revenue.
This is another strategy for trading platforms that will eventually create a high demand most especially for those who are eager to trade and make profits. But of course, just like gambling casinos, these trading platforms have already planned this to increase their exchange’s revenue, but at the same time, it also offers an advantage for traders as they can be an outlet to harness the trading skills of these traders, and develop new strategies that will definitely work for them. So at the end of the day, both parties will benefit. It’s like 50-50 scenario after all.
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please, I urge you to buy bitcoin! on: April 24, 2024, 11:59:09 PM
^^^ With 8 billion people on Earth, that's (on average) 262500 satoshi's per person. Plenty enough to do business with.

Cool
Perfect answer.

However, Bitcoin is still accessible to everyone, and anyone can accumulate it. Likely, you bought Bitcoin and want a quick pump. A lot of people in the world still don't know what Bitcoin is. Only a few people are aware and are accumulating as well. More people coming to Bitcoin means more value.
Bitcoin offers a lot of opportunities to invest, but it seems others are still reluctant to it. Not because they don’t want to risk their funds with bitcoin, but most likely because they are still not knowledgeable about how bitcoin investment works and for obvious reason, they can’t stand the pressure with bitcoin’s high volatility.

However, if there’s a will, there’s a way. With the vast amount available bitcoin in the market, if you know how to take advantage those opportunities and chances, you will be definitely extra wealthy in the future. One of the reasons why you need to push yourself to learn about bitcoin so you won’t miss opportunities something like this.
129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No gambling today due to bitcoin high transaction fee. on: April 24, 2024, 11:43:41 PM
This is only for gamblers who use bitcoin as the payment method, how is going today? Who among us here can still afford to gamble?
Seriously the mempool is kind of congested, and the transaction fee is really high, if you are a gambler, and you gamble with just little amount of money, spending so much money on transaction fee just to deposit money doesn’t really make sense to me, so it’s just better to stop gambling for now, or if you are having any money in your gambling account, then you can keep on gambling with it pending when the transaction fee is going to drop, and you are going to deposit more money. I don’t think anyone will spend such a high amount of money on transaction fee just because they want to deposit like $20.
Yes this happens due to a big traffic of transactions that makes a market congested in the process. However, this won’t be any longer and we will eventually see fees going down, and right now the price is quite reasonable again. But most likely for an addicted gambler, this may frustrate them but they’ll still find a way to gamble just to satisfy their urge in gambling. Only to find out they only lose in the end, and paying those high fees is already a loss itself. But what do you expect from a highly addicted one, of course they will never mind all those fees as long as they can continue to bet for more. Not actually a problem for big time gamblers, but for small gamblers, I guess this will really drive them crazy.
130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the biggest mistakes made by beginners in online gambling? How can they on: April 24, 2024, 10:51:18 PM
The biggest mistakes I have noticed in beginners is the thought that gambling is a get rich quick schemes and taking the third party route as in getting bets that are called sure odds to bet on hoping to win big jackpot with those sure  perceived sure odds.

Gambling is based on luck and nothing more and there is no sure game any where so beginners should stop having the thought that their can lay hold of a sure bet that make them win.
This is very common even to long time gamblers who until now have not achieved the right mindset of a gambler, that gambling is never a get rich quick, and gambling can never replace the position of having a stable job. Although you can win big from gambling, but that is only rare to happen as losses will always outnumber our gains or profits.

There is no wrong with gambling actually. What makes it wrong is that when we start seeing gambling as a reliable source of living when in reality it will never be. Gambling is purely based on luck and chances, and it’s not all the time that we get extra lucky and win our bets.
131  Other / Meta / Re: Introducing scammers to the forum. on: April 22, 2024, 03:43:20 PM

I know some scammers are intelligent people who read a lot and can discover this forum from their research while trying to gather information, but it is possible that some of the people we are referring to the forum are scammers, and we now also have to be careful of the people we refer to Bitcointalk.

Avoid referring the forum to friends and even family who we know have tendencies to become scammers, have affiliations with any known scammer, etc.

Haven’t you also have a thought that the scammers are or might be regular members already in the forum?. The forum allows the creation of alts so once a member decides to go into scamming they can just easily create another account and advertise their products. So to me, the biggest number of this scam accounts are members that are already here

Also I don’t second the idea of you not guiding people to the forum because they will scam. This forum could be the only place they get authentic information about cryptocurrency and should they later involve into scamming you can as well report the account
Scammers are everywhere, so it’s highly possible that some of the regular members here are the real scammers. This is the reason why one should not be too trusting but keep his bitcointalk account privately so that not only he will protect his own account but eventually protect the other forum members as well. And to think that we can’t pinpoint easily the scammers in the forum, then it’s still best not entertain new members that are still completely strange to you.

However, with regards to not guiding the people into bitcointalk forum, why not? We kept on saying that bitcointalk forum is the most legit and highly trusted crypto forum and yet we don’t promote it to those interested people. I believe this is some kind of a selfish thing, most especially if we are sure enough that their lives will eventually changed in the future once they’ll  be introduced to the forum and gain proper education about bitcoin and the crypto space.
132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 22, 2024, 03:07:09 PM
There's a report about Ryan Garcia cashing out $12M after betting on himself to beat Devin Haney, Ryan is a huge underdog in this fight nobody believes that he will beat much more mauled and knockdown Haney 3 times.

No wonder he is ecstatic about his win because he is getting huge money, although he owed Haney $1.6 million but that's nothing to what Ryan will get.

This is one big act of the internet's greatest troll, he makes people believe that he is crazy and out of control but it's an act so he can bet on himself so he can win huge, unfortunately, many people also lose a lot of money because of the idea that there's no way Ryan can beat Haney.

https://www.sportskeeda.com/mma/news-this-literally-illegal-fans-react-ryan-garcia-reportedly-cashing-12m-betting-beat-devin-haney

So he can say that publicly, like it's allowed in the boxing industry that a boxer will beat on himself to win? Because if that's in NBA, he would have been punished a lifetime ban, honestly, I'm curious because I don't know the rules, but isn't it ethical? Because someone could also bet agaisnt himself and cash huge money, I think it's easier than trying to win.
133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 22, 2024, 02:25:06 PM

That was the time when Bay Area Dragon was part of the league and with their match against Ginebra, they have filled the entire area. See, that hints that the fans are up for the competition and not with just a few of these teams that will always become the champions and have some unfair trades.

PBA is not dead yet, they just don't want it to be lovable by the fans. I think they need to invite more foreign teams to make it more exciting, the current teams that are playing now is just very predictable, there's no excitement anymore and they have to understand that. Unfortunately, I think this team BAD was already disbanded, they could have come back again and make the PBA more exciting to watch. It's been awhile, does PBA have a plan of having a season like that?
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Wins: Your Money Was Returned to You. on: April 22, 2024, 02:02:05 PM
"Your wins in gambling are just your money returning to you." While there's some truth to it, I believe it's an oversimplification. Yes, casinos have the edge, and over time, most players will lose more than they win. However, that doesn't mean every win is just a return of previous losses.
I have seen new players win big, and I myself experienced unexpected wins myself. Sure, there are countless losses, but not all the time. We should understand and not forget that gambling is about risk and sometimes luck will be on our side. House may usually win at the end, but it doesn't mean that we cannot enjoy the occasional big wins in the game.

It's simple maths really.

At the end of the day gambling has a negative expected return. That's pretty much it really.

You can paint it all over with fancy things, and make it fun, or whatever, but in terms of actual financial terms, you are expected to pay more than what you earn. Simple as that.

Reality strikes that gambling is more on losses than wins. Although I have heard lots of stories who have been extra lucky and win big amounts, but after that, once they fall into the casino traps, those amount of winnings are slowly going back to the casino again. I guess this is how gambling casinos are designed, they will offer you beginner’s luck and let you win some amount until you end up gambling again and lose all what you have  won, except for those wise enough who have smartly cashout their winnings and invest into potential investments.

In general, gambling is here to entertain us while putting our funds at risk. And if we are not cautious enough, we will end up poorer and poorer while seeing these casinos getting richer every time.
135  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re:  Fees are spiralling out of control due to halving. on: April 22, 2024, 01:45:53 PM
I did experience it somehow a little bit before with a $50 fee. It's really too much when it comes to transactions because the expensiveness of it makes it hard for it to be used in an everyday setup. I think it's not mainly halving but it has something to do with Runes as well or something.
Honestly, this is bringing a hassle for everyone, but what else can we do but to wait patiently until the normal price gets back. My only worries is that if emergencies arise and you have no cash funds for it, it will really hit you into nerves. However, we all know this is just temporary. And right now, the price gets even better than the first and second day of halving. But I also have this feeling that this isn’t halving only but most probably with Runes as well, although we all know that is what normally happens when a very important crypto event is on going.
136  Economy / Speculation / Re: If China Supports Crypto, Where Can Bitcoin's Price Go? on: April 22, 2024, 12:52:53 PM
I can never have any hors on China as it may support Bitcoin one day and next day it may threaten to ban it or restrict it's transaction even though it has not completely banned Bitcoin as it has just banned mining by private players. I think any powerful nations like China supporting Bitcoin will have positive impact on its value but cannot expect much from China as they don't hold their words and the communists will do anything to keep the population poor and under control even if it mean completely banning Bitcoin.
We all know China is a greedy and manipulative country, but I don’t think they will continue to resist bitcoin when majority of the big countries are already into it. Most probably, they will also support bitcoin as well that may lead into a high price surge for bitcoin.

Bitcoin, although it’s being banned in mainland China but still, some traders are still able to continue trading and operate it in grey areas, which means they’re not actually completely prohibiting bitcoin existence in their country. With this, we can still see small hopes that China will eventually fall into the trap of bitcoin.
137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will Happen to crypto market after Bitcoin halving?? on: April 22, 2024, 12:35:22 PM
Is it somehow frustrating to not see Bitcoin skyrocketing right after the halving event happened? Yes!

However, it's not the end of the world... Let's wait few weeks or a month to see what the post-halving tendency is for crypto market. Moreover, don't forget there is a worldwide conflict going on in the Middle East and Ukraine which involve every nations, directly or indirectly, added to a global economical crisis that never ceases. All these events have influence over Bitcoin's price and future fluctuations.

I'm still optimistic, though. As we can see, Bitcoin is maintaining position at 65,000$ against the 59,600$ dip we saw days ago. Thankfully the price didn't drop further and it's already crossing the resistance level, which was in 65,000$. Now we can start expecting further increasements (maybe 70,000$ once again?). Patience is needed for now, so keep holding until the right time comes.
It will only be frustrating to those who are expecting immediate price increase right after halving but for those who have kept witnessing bitcoin halving in the previous years, I guess they are more relax and calm now while seeing bitcoin price quite stagnant. Because they know for sure that eventually, bitcoin price will still be in skyrocket soon.

To be honest, I’m not actually expecting a lot right at the moment, although I’m totally optimistic with how its price will move in the market. But if bitcoin will suddenly surprise us with massive price increase, then who are we not to be happy and grateful for it.
138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streaming community are getting worst!!! on: April 22, 2024, 12:03:39 PM
The online streamers have already sold their dignity. I mean, the guy(or girl) decided to make money out of playing video games in his/her room and streaming, instead of getting a normal job like everybody else. What about all the girls, that are making easy money showing their ass on Onlyfans? Did they lost their dignity as well? The internet is what it is. The shameless people are going to use every opportunity they have to make a quick buck. And yes, in most cases this is totally cringe, but we live in a strange world.
The promotion of gambling isn't banned or illegal, so what's stopping the steamers to promote gambling?
Exactly. It’s like a highly paying job is being offered, so why waste those chances if there are great opportunities to be in huge profits. Gambling is legally accepted all over the world, except for those Islamic countries, so if online streaming gains high demand these days then we can’t control these gamblers to promote gambling platforms just like those celebrities who are doing streaming and show to the world how wealthy they are after that.

Let’s just accept the reality that money is the topmost important for the people. And where there is massive amount of money, people will eventually take advantage of those, even it means selling their dignity for some, which for me it never seemed like that.
139  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with AI on: April 21, 2024, 11:59:09 PM
Be careful mate. There will be a lot of platform that will take advantage of the AI hype as they will inform you about trading using AI can gain you any real benefits. AI is a tough and intelligent product but even them can failed to have a 100% accuracy or winning rate on trading. They arent supercomputer that can bypass futute output but smart one that based on historical datas. It might give some positive result but a continuous gain daily? Thats sounds like a modus.
Sounds more like a Ponzi scheme. Know that even if this platform is run by AI, still they can’t guarantee real success more often as trading in reality is always prone to uncertain outcomes due to its unpredictable market. It’s still a lot better to trade using your own intelligence and skills in trading, so that you can positively navigate your own outcome most especially if you excel in market analysis and predictions. But with trading in platform using AI, success may be good to hear but in reality, it all boils down to series of losses and regrets.
140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What the Heck Do Gamblers Mean By this Phrase on: April 21, 2024, 11:45:40 PM
That is like "winning patterns", just my personal opinion since I've never encountered people talking like this.
But whatever it means or something it weighs a lot but there is one thing we know for sure that card games are pure luck-based games. Some gamblers may say there is a card trick but I don't think this happens in casinos as they are protecting their reputation.

We never hear this phrase often because this never meant anything serious. It is probably just in the mind of a gambler who believes what it means for them. Because for me, I gamble without thinking about cheating or anything, I am just focus on what I'm doing.

Yes, it’s the same thing in my mind. If you happen to hit a perfect flow of your cards, then your chances to be in profits is high. Although blackjack itself is not just all about luck but math and statistics as well, that’s why if you are good in securing the right flow of your cards, in no time you will hit an edge over the casino, and that makes you profitable with your cards.

However, I believe this phrase can also be applied to any games in casino. Most especially to those games that mostly covered by luck, as it’s what most gambling games are.
