I think CureCoin needs a bigger marketing team to get this coin out there.

i never wanted to see a weird japan symbol in this logo, its offensive to me.

Care to explain this flagrant racism?

Japan is nation endorsing hardcore war crimes.  not to even mention its massive patriotism.  its extremely troublesome

Erm, what about the USA then?

been mining for an hour - but nothing on the pool website.   Huh

All my usernames match, I meticulously followed the guides and setup walkthroughs.

So is my 300K PPD being wasted by the pool?  Why isn't my username being matched and my PPD shown in the pool website?

Am I cooking an extremely expensive OCed Titan for nothing?

You haven't submitted any work units yet right?

With an hour of folding I don't think it's possible.

I am unfamiliar with this type of mining.

I turned off the CPU mining as suggested in the guide and turned the GPU to "Full" and set to core_17 process.

It is bouncing around between 290k-300k on the app, says 12% on the progress bar, ETA 7 hours....

So my system has to run flawlessly overclocked for 8.5 hours before work is submitted at all?  What if I crash after having done 5 hours of that work?

Poor system if it requires 9 hour stretches to complete before work is "turned in." IMHO.

miners crash.

Am I understanding your observation correctly and this new mining system?

If you crash, there are checkpoints saved if you look at the log file in the f@h client. So the f@h client will just resume from the last checkpoint.

The system has been in place since 2000 (9 years before bitcoin came out) and it works. It's not a mining system but a folding system.

Open for offers.

0.25 is for shipping worldwide, OP how much is the unit and will you trade via escrow?

Sorry guys I'll make it more clear.

131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is China so important for Bitcoin? on: June 20, 2014, 07:29:25 PM
China is important for Bitcoin.

However, Bitcoin is more important to China. Simply because it's an easy way to get money out of China with their strict laws. They buy art, property, etc to get money out of the country so Bitcoin is easier additional avenue for them.

133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to destroy crypto coins? on: June 19, 2014, 06:52:16 PM
I don't think you can destroy coins as they're in the blockchain forever.

I think the only thing you can really do is send the coins to an address you don't have a private key to.

Oh i see. So if the developer of a coin said he was going to destroy 10% of the coins in existence. There would always be some people that could claim he had the private key to the address they were sent to?

Yup that would an issue. Which coin are you referring to?
134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is China so important for Bitcoin? on: June 19, 2014, 06:30:58 PM
Why?
Because, 1/4 of world is China.

All big countries are important, India, Brazil, Russia, USA, Japan. IF BitCoin ignore them all, will not grow as fast as it will without that.

Haha.

Last time i checked, india has same if not possibly more population than china, and china certainly is not a quarter of the world seeing as ther are over 7 billion closing in on 8 billion people, and chinese are under 1/6th of that. Big difference, but squinty chinese eyes make it 1/4. Cool

Fuck off.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_population

Chinese are 1/5 of the world and that's just in China. Again not sure what you're going with these racist remarks. Are you indian hence the reference?
135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is China so important for Bitcoin? on: June 19, 2014, 06:28:48 PM
Bitcoin does not need China. The Chinese can develop some shitty copycat altcoin, the same way they have developed copycat sites such as Baidu and Weibo. Enough of Chinese hypocrisy.  Angry

Watch your mouth!
We like to use Google, Youtube or Twitter etc but we could not.
It is Chinese Gov's decision instead of our choose!

Fuck you boy watch your lip before saying sht you can't back up.

Lippy chnk.

Not sure you're going on about but it's common knowledge the China Govt blocks those sites. Hence the "great firewall" of China.

I searching for something like that for months now i found it. Nice coin. Is there anybody who know why i get too hard proteins in the PC client and easy proteins in the WEB client?

I'm guessing it's because the web client (NaCl) is meant for folders who can run it in their office so they need fast and small WUs for fast turnovers while the PC client is meant for hardcore 24/7 folders.
140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: PRE [ANN] CureCoin development continues.... on: June 16, 2014, 04:14:18 PM
Hi everyone,

I'm a SolarCoin supporter and always looking for other cryptocurrencies that have a positive mission to help the world. There are very few.

I recently heard of CureCoin and am impressed with your idea.

I read a couple of articles on CoinDesk from just a few days ago which mention the concept of CureCoin -- mining for proteins via the Folding@home project -- but which say that this idea has not yet been implemented. These articles do not actually mention CureCoin, so it sounds like they've never heard of it.

Computational power can be used for other things, such as distributed protein folding and searching for patterns in extraterrestrial radio signals. The problem is that computing tasks like these aren’t the same types of task as solving the cryptography problems intrinsic to cryptocurrency production, and no one seems to have worked out a way to marry the two so far. This means curing cancer or AIDS, while also mining digital coins isn’t a reality.

Stanford University professor Vijay Pande would like coin miners’ help with his scientific project, Folding@home, which uses donated computing power to help find cures for devastating diseases. He also helps run the Stanford Bitcoin Group, which conducts research into Bitcoin theory and applications.

“There are multiple people emailing me describing the natural synergies between Folding@home and the way Bitcoin works,” he said. ...

Ultimately, as one bright spot on a Reddit thread suggested, someone would develop a crypto currency that could solve scientific problems during the mining process – effectively solving problems for professors while also finding coins. This is much harder than it looks, warns Pande.

Based on reading these articles, I must ask, has CureCoin already implemented this great leap forward and CoinDesk just doesn't know about it yet? Or is CureCoin advertising itself as something that it's really not? Do people really get mining rewards of CureCoins while using their computing power for Folding@home?

I look forward to replies from the CureCoin community. Thank you!  Smiley

Ello,

The bigger curecoin thread is here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=603757.0).

I know a few people including myself have emailed coindesk (I'm not a dev) the last few weeks but to no avail so far.
