121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH price soaring. Are you going to move some BTC into ETH? on: June 29, 2016, 04:14:43 PM
I think it is important for the Crypto space to have a healthy Ethereum but I have to say, things are not at all looking good.
Looking at reddit's /r/ethereum board is basically like looking at a soft vs hardfork forum of ideas. Just a mess.

What is the latest now? I heard they are pushing the fork, if there will be one, back to July 14th?
122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: June 21, 2016, 06:40:41 PM
Come on guys, you cant possibly be expecting a pump this soon. this has been a massive ico and its going to take months to gain any momentum. If your waiting for a quick pump and dump then your going to be dissapointed. Might as well just dump now and let someone else have your coins.
Explain the dao. It was pumped at one point. It's not even that innovative.

DAO had some bad code in a new language, but jumping just over the "accredited investor" garbage itself is innovative.
And the uses for a DAO can boggle the mind.
I would look inside as perhaps your not looking deep enough into the topic.

This whole field, WAVES, LISK, Crypto are all just full of innovation but it is hard to see it at first as it builds on itself and new variables and connections surface as time goes on.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES Price speculation on: June 21, 2016, 09:23:26 AM
there so many speculation i heard about that waves will become 20$..
that's why during ICO i bought 500 waves, for trial only..

I'd be surprised if WAVE can maintain a price of 20 cents. Take away the hype and FUD and it's just another shitty ICO Scamcoin. Lisk is already dropping and it's unlikely WAVE will be able to maintain a price higher than LSK. If you haven't sold already you missed the bulk of your pofits.

Pretty amazing you can make those statements, speaking pretty strongly and at the same time be a walking advertisement with your avatar and such.
And you list no facts, merely state things backed on fear. Hmmm....
124  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 20, 2016, 06:15:43 PM
WE ARE HERE!!!

Look:

Funny how that looked like a whale  Lips sealed

next bubble @ 3000 usd  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Very little chance of that happening on this run.

I don't think we'll get another bubble like that one again. Unlike back then, now some people are bound to dump their btc at the slightest sign of bubble (like that one.) bursting. Besides, I think it'll be much better if the price raise steadily instead of going crazy like that
[/quote]

There is much much bigger money getting involved in bitcoin and also consider the global financial situation (again), Juan devaluations and Capital Controls (and most of this buying is from China), rising awareness of a corrupt and inflated money system, Billion plus into BTC infrastructure last year alone, etc.

There are many many more reasons to have another bubble and for us to sustain the price in the thousands. It is just simple math. We are sitting on a disruptive financial technology that is slowly being adopted and has a "market cap" of 12 or so Billion? In finance? lol, we are just getting started....

125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in LISK or DAO on: June 20, 2016, 06:08:38 PM
Sad to see that but we faced the truth. DAO is dead already. They can't do anything after that so called attack. Ethereum's are gone or if they make a hardfork trust is gone. Lisk is also not a good investment because it's just a copy cat. Sell before it goes down more. I hope WAVES and RISE can do good things.

The DAO is dead, at least this one is. But we should be happy it happened so quick. Imagine what it could have been years down the road - BILLIONS.
True to a point, if they do a hard fork, trust is somewhat compromised.

But, Ethereum is not dead, just really damaged and probably for a relatively short time. I imagine contracts resembling the DAO will be few and far in between.

Regarding LISK, yeah, it was hurt by Ethereum's DAO failure, but this not shocking. The shocking thing is they let the DAO get so big.
And with LISK, now it can go forward knowing this valuable piece of information (as will other projects.)

Also, LISK can probably use this to its advantage, further solidifying that Javascript is a known thing where as Solidity isn't.
The separate side chains per contract is also a nice security feature.

This felt a bit like when the Silk Road went down and how BTC crashed and then rebounded stronger, quite quickly.
But, with Ethereum, there probably won't be a quick turnaround. Investors need to be very very careful with Ethereum (and LISK for that matter).
But this space is a little baby and the potential going forward is huge. LISK might be able to gain something here...

What you said could be true. But for the short term, people will lose confidence in any smart contract related business.

I agree, but for how long? And for that matter, I wonder how long Ethereum will be held back. There is pretty good size money in Ethereum, so I wonder if they try to support it. Personally I think it is going down much lower, might even pick some up later on.
126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in LISK or DAO on: June 20, 2016, 06:07:10 PM
LISK IS GOOD NEWS!

I agree!
127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: June 20, 2016, 04:03:47 PM
U forgot the downward trend that began the triangle at 9 oclock : the big red candle, and if u follow technical analyze advice, it says the trend after the traiandgle should remain like before : in fact, down trend

I didn't forget anything. The whole premise of the triangle is the apparent pattern and even then, they are still hit or miss.
Also, the volume is falling as the triangle progresses, which is generally a part of the pattern.
Ever see what some people call "head and shoulders" patterns? You can be quite liberal.

Way too early of course to call anything. (That should have been your argument  Wink)

Wow. TRIANGLE on the Chart!  This is amazing, if i could only post a picture of this Epic chart formation.

Breakout on the charts. Lets party like its 1999 !!! (RIP Prince)

The early trading looks a lot like a triangle over at Bittrex. Looking at the 30 minute chart.
My guess, barring any huge dumps is we go up from here or form a bit of a bass line.
130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: June 20, 2016, 03:15:43 PM
panic sell soon , people going to sell there waves because of btc dump.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaand its gone

Normally most alts are inversely related to BTC. A lower BTC price is generally good.
Notice alts are starting to hold USD equivalent amounts. Very few hold BTC ratio amounts.

Ive just checked the distribution of waves on bittrex and theres some pretty big players have deposited on their now, Im guessing everyone is straight up dumping their coins by the looks of it. the top addresses are literally 700k,500k,400k etc. Thats going to put a fair dent in the price once that gets dumped. I hope im wrong but i doubt those coins are on their for the foreseeable future.

Why would any "investor" want to cripple their market?
More than likely they will only sell what the market gives. Anything more is self defeating.
133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][slock.it][Company] IoT meets blockchain - A TheDAO proposal on: June 19, 2016, 06:38:43 PM
So where does Slock.it go from here? I thought it had promise, but I would think the entire community should have lost faith in the team around it.

Slock.it is a great idea. I don't see them having a big problem getting the financing. Perhaps a separate (And much much smaller DAO) can be done just for that reason.

Really? You will trust a lock that was hacked already basically? You will trust the devs behind the DAO? Lol...it's incredible. And that's what happens with Ethereum, they have most of the ETH team as curators and most of them I'm sure looked at the DAO code and found nothing wrong. ETH proved to be a joke, their platform might be secure but it allows for bad code to be written so smart contracts are useless.

Will you trust the next DAO or dApp that ask for your money? Written by some kid in java that have a massive backdoor? Etheroll crowdfund met the same fate and Marker DAO had a similar bug...

If you can't trust a small smart contract in Ethereum, then you are talking about no Ethereum. Is that something to "LOL" at? Is that your level or understanding or the simplicity you see in this? Black or White? Good or Evil? We are dealing with a tech that is brand knew. And though I am primarily a Bitcoin supporter, I support this whole space. So I don't want to make this A vs. B.

I think the whole smart contract thing is extremely dangerous but also promising. So, to answer your questions:
- I would trust a simpler contract wth a smaller amount at stake. I would only be willing to risk as much as is comfortable. And at this point, with open code review and extreme amounts of testing.
- I do trust the devs behind the DAO, for the most part anyway. I hope nothing malicious was done here.
- I would not trust a kid writing code (usually) but the problem there is, how would we know?

Welcome to crypto and expect more growing pains.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: June 19, 2016, 03:54:19 PM
I am wondering how Lisk's smart contract feature is affected by the DAO happenings?
Shouldn't it be also possible in Lisk to create such recursively contracts like the one that transferred all the Ether into the child DAO, should it?

Smart Contracts can have lots of quirks to them. Solidity is a new language so perhaps even more so, as no one was super familiar with it. I think the DAO blunder had to do with something like capitalisation of a term!!!

LISK can of course be affected by bad Javascript code but I think it has the advantage that most programmers know javascript and also that the contracts run on sidechains, which does add some flexibility. Anyone else have some advantages?

That said, LISK and Ethereum are quite dissimilar in functionality but have some similarities.
135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: June 19, 2016, 03:49:28 PM
Is it possible to send the waves directly from the ICO wallet to Bittrex?

Yes, you just need to enter the address there and don't forget to add "1W" to the beginning of the Bittrex wallet address.

Why does it have to be a DAO anyway? Why can't they just create their own token and use it for fundraising?

Bad terminology on my part, I just meant they could raise the money in a slock.it fundraiser contract.
As I said, I don't see them having a problem getting the financing though.

They will sort this out.
Stop the end of days trolling..

This is quite serious and sets precedent, amongst many other things.
Yeah, there is some trolling, but considering the seriousness of things, there seems to be little in the middle.

There are extreme opinions in both directions. Those holding lots of ETH seem to think this is not a big deal (but the price says otherwise. Down about 40% since "hack".)

On the other hand, we have people saying this is the end of Ethereum. That can't be the case, but it certainly opened up a big can of worms.
Ethereum is more than a money (wasn't made to be one but it can be used as such, just like BTC), so the simple argument of fungibility is just a part of the argument.
We are talking about changing the results of mistakes made in code (i.e. smart contracts) by either doing a hard fork (very doubtful) or some soft fix (looking likely).

Not saying it was intentional or the like, but ever since HYPER sponsored Jon Fitch, the price has started a tremendous decent down.
Been away, but has there been talk of this at all?
