1201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you use a VPN on a casino, even if it is not allowed in their ToS? on: June 04, 2023, 07:28:39 PM
I know this is a bit controversial, but some casinos are looking the other way... when people are using VPNs. I know it might be legal in some instances, but you are still taking a risk by using it.

Online gambling is legal in my country, but sometimes I have to travel to a country where it is illegal. I then use a VPN to be able to access the site. This is one of the reasons why some casinos allow people to use VPNs..... but you are still taking a huge risk.

Now, the question is.... Will you still use a VPN, if it is not allowed by the ToS on the site. What will you do if they "block" your account and take your balance?
Usually reputed casinos won't lock your accounts and steal your balance for that, except if you are a good sport bettor or if you are "abusing" their bonuses and promotions or if they suspect you to have found a loophole in a game or some tricks to get an advantage over the house. In addition you shouldn't forget that in some countries it's not forbidden for the citizens to play at online casinos while authorities prohibit casinos to let their citizens play there. It means users won't break the laws if they manage to play at those casinos, and casinos won't break the law of those countries if they show they don't let their citizens to play normally there.
1202  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to receive btc from exchanges to Electrum wallet with lightning network on: June 04, 2023, 06:59:19 PM
hello i want to know how can i receive my BTC from exchanges to electrum wallet via lightning network
what are the steps that i should do do i have to create a lightning channel on electrum and can i
recover the btc spent for opening the channel later and how much are the total fees for opening and
closing the lightnging channel since we want to use lightning channel to avoid high btc fees if we gonna
spend more then it doesnt make sense
If you open a LN channel it won't make sense to use it just for one withdrawal because you are likely to pay more fees at the end than if you had requested an on-chain withdrawal. So if the solution is interesting if you have to use LN for other transactions or if you are wiling to make other withdrawals through LN in the coming weeks or months before closing your channel. Once you have open a channel you will need to send funds to the exchange or elsewhere in order to get some receiving capacity, after that you will just need to generate a LN invoice in Electrum with the amount you want to receive(smaller than the receiving capacity of your channel) and paste it on the exchange.
1203  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Loan business here how on: June 04, 2023, 05:59:55 PM
Any adivece ?
How much i can earn ?
Should i ask collateral always ?
How can i improve my service ?
If you want to make a business with that, you need to build a reputation first, because people can be scammed by you with their collaterals, so they need to trust you. A good way to build it, is to offer loans(with collaterals) with very low rates first, or loans with normal rates but without collateral. In this case you will need to assess the risk of defaulting from the borrower in order to offer an appropriate rate. Usually active users with high ranks not red tagged are less likely to default, especially if they are doing signature campaigns.
1204  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin as a retirement plan for my parents on: June 03, 2023, 11:58:59 PM
It’s not really a wrong idea to consider bitcoin as a retirement plan but know that it can also result into life changing losses than just mere profits. Especially that your parents are not exposed with bitcoin trading or investing. However, if you are making significant profits already with bitcoin, maybe you can start convincing them but never force them to go along with your own decision. Their money, their rules. Let them decide if they want to invest in bitcoin or not.
It wouldn't be a bad idea if they'd allocate a small part of their retirement plan in Bitcoin in order to diversify it since Bitcoin is not correlated to any other asset despite being a high volatile and risky one , but investing all their finds into it would be the worst idea ever. As for gambling games, you should only invest what you can afford to lose. And it would be surprising if they don't need their retirement plan.
1205  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is OP? on: June 03, 2023, 11:50:08 PM
OP - Original Poster
OP: Original Poster (like you explained) or Original Post.

OP can be used like two words: Topic and Thread. Many posters don't know difference between Topic and Thread as well as they can differentiate what OP implies for either Original Poster or Original Post. It must be taken in to a specific context.

OP, what is it?
Terminology

'OP'
Original Post / Original Poster. This could refer to either the user that started the thread or the first post in the thread. If you are in the hardware section then it could also mean 'Over Power'.
There are real people using OP instead of thread? It must be some beginners, no? But for topic I agree with you, many people are using it as synonym of thread including me while it's not. Its real meaning is the subject of the discussion/conversation/thread, the "Original Post" normally. OP refers to the Original Poster and the topic(subject) both but with this widespread notation I bet only the first meaning will remain here at the end.
1206  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: $90,000 all in bet on: June 03, 2023, 10:58:28 PM
I have been able to turn $4,000 into $90,000 over the course of a week. Today, I am going all in on a bet I am very confident in.

FRANCE LEAGUE 2: GRENOBLE - GUINGAMP

UPDATE: A MISSED PENALTY AND A LOSS. BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD.
It was the first time you've made such profits in such a small amount of time? If it wasn't the first time it would mean you're a very strong bettor and you will be able to recover your losses soon. Unfortunately I don't think that's the case, otherwise you wouldn't have placed a bet with such a large proportion of your bank roll. Most bettors say one bet should never exceed 10% of your bank roll. In addition you wouldn't have played on this sportsbook which has a poor reputation among sport bettors.
1207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How To Interact With Dapps? on: June 03, 2023, 09:58:22 PM
Incorporated a "more secured feature" for interacting with Dapps, whatever it means, is safe enough for you? Unfortunately as long as Metamask won't be a standalone application it will remain not fully safe. And it's always better to keep a browser dedicated to its use.
They have secured feature like a warning before your interact or approved transaction on dapps before going through it especially if they detected its a malicious one. Well I guess its safe enough for me. So far dont know which altcoin wallet could be better than metamask. Yes not fully safe, maybe you could suggest one besides it which is like 100% safe and secure. Though its will depends on someone habit how he can protect himself from unwanted dapps that are made by scammers.

I guess I remain safe from thieves since I was careful on dapps as well and not easily caught up with lousy one.
The problem with Metamask is that it's not a standalone software but a plugin, it means it can corrupt the browser used and steal informations such as passwords, seeds, private keys, email addresses, phone numbers, 2fa keys or replace receiving addresses displayed for example. But it can also be corrupted by the browser in order to steal informations entered into it. Backdoors can be implemented in one version(of the plugin or the browser) and disappear in the next one, in order to avoid being spotted. That's why I don't like plugins.

https://www.coinglass.com/today

1210  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Danger of posting your bitcoin address online on: June 02, 2023, 11:23:34 PM
This is only true if you are using an account that reveal your identity to post your Bitcoin address but simply posting your Bitcoin address online anonymously won’t harm you at all because all our address is exposed publicly on blockchain ledger.
[...]
Sharing publicly your wallet address is not a big deal at all if you knew to keep safe your private key properly. Most of the scammers blatantly posting their address publicly to scam people. If this people hiding from the law can do it without a problem then why normal people will worry on doing same thing?
I'm not sure it's a good practice for beginners though, because for example when you post one address here you are linking it to your username, and then if you post your social media accounts here for some bounty campaigns or for doing some trades with other forum users, the addresses you've posted under this pseudonym will be linked to your social media accounts.
1211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How To Interact With Dapps? on: June 02, 2023, 10:57:04 PM
any safety concerns or anything that I should be aware off? I would like to try some type of defi or anything else that would be useful to try/learn/use etc.

Any help is appreciated as always thank you.  Cheesy Cheesy
Since metamask has incorporated a more secured feature when interacting on dapps. Your problem would be lessen.

If you are gonna start only. Only with verified dapps. But as long ad you explore on new and unfamiliar dapps, you need to make sure that you are into right website letters by letters cause scammers find a way to make it looks like the real one.

Also use revoke cash app to disconnect your wallet from previous dapps that has record of transaction or interactions.

Feel free to use many dapps. There are a lots of them now and some of them are really helpful on defi and monitoring.

But if OP has some concerns about that it's better to choose a wallet with the WalletConnect feature in order to interact with Dapps, he can find a comprehensive list here : https://walletconnect.com/explorer?type=wallet (You can use most of them directly on your PC if you need it, by using an Android emulator like BlueStacks for example)
The WalletConnect feature is very easy to use, you just need to flash a QR-code(or to manually enter the string of the code) and to confirm the connection.

They should be doing more propaganda on Xfunbet then, because web3 is expected to be a thing on the upcoming years, evolving what we know as internet and raising it to the next level. Pioneer projects on this area tend to get more visibility, gaining more projection among the public and potential customers (gamblers in this case). This could be very positive for FUN token if done efficiently, although another measures should be adopt as well to boost FUN's potential, like decreasing supply (which is huge) in larger chunks...
Yes I agree with you, but what is nice with FUN tokens is the more people play with them at FUN casinos, the more tokens are burnt. So if people start to adopt it massively to gamble, its value can rise very fast. But sadly most FUN holders keep them into investing plans, instead of using them. If you use Xfunbet as layer for example, that is to say if you offer bets like a bookie as you can do on betting exchanges like Betfair you will only pay 1% commission on your winnings instead of 5% on Betfair1, and this commission will be used to burn Fun tokens.

Quote
LAYER - WHEN USING THE LAY SITE
As a Layer when using the lay.xfun.bet application a 1% fee will apply on any earnings. This 1% fee as XFUN will be burned, reducing the circulating supply of XFUN and FUNToken. By becoming a Layer on XFUN.bet you agree to this condition. The 1% fee does not apply to any losses.

What does Lynxbet have to do with Freebitco?
I don't know for sure, because as far as I know gambling sites that have a relationship with freebitcoin are dplay, club riches and also sports betting xfunbet, dplay and club riches you can access by clicking the button in the "More" section on the top right of your freebitcoin account and also besides the lynxbet gambling site there are several other gambling sites and also exchanges whose advertisements appear at the bottom when you log in to your freebitcoin account, maybe it is part of a business that they also develop or advertisements from other parties because they see profits by displaying banners from their business on freebitcoin which have a very large number of vistors a lot every day. Lynxbet has been on freebitcoin for a long time and they even had a promotion during last year's World Cup.
Unfortunately they don't make much marketing and communication on Xfunbet while according to the Fun token blog it's the most disruptive app from the FUN token ecosystem. And I think it's true because currently it's certainly one of the most decentralized sportsbook available for now. You don't even need to give an email address in order to place a bet and all your bets are managed through smart contracts on the Polygon blockchain.

XFUN Bet is the latest addition to our portfolio and the most disruptive one. It’s the first fully decentralized peer-to-peer Sportsbook, making Web3 betting a reality.

1214  Economy / Gambling / Re: is KYC data on Gambling sites safe? on: June 01, 2023, 11:00:29 PM
As we know, many gambling sites have Kyc requirements when making withdrawals. Some people may not have a problem with this condition, but some people think differently about doing Kyc. Some people refuse to fill in their Kyc data for fear of being misused. That's a natural thing, but is the worry too much?

Kyc actually has a function to prevent dangerous actions, such as money laundering. In addition, Kyc can also protect customers from account breakers.

Now there are several gambling sites that do not require Kyc to withdraw funds. That's good news. But I don't know if big money withdrawal need Kyc or not. I've never withdrawn much money.

Are you one of those who agree or refuse to fill out kyc on gambling sites? So far, the Kyc that you have filled in on the gambling site is safe? I've never had a problem with the Kyc that I filled out at the gambling site. Have you ever felt cheated from Kyc submitted?
I don't think KYC prevents anything to be honest, except money laundering and multi-accounting(especially ban evaders). But for the customer it doesn't give safety neither any benefit, because even in case of credentials loss, the customer could simply sign a message from an address used for a deposit or a withdrawal, in addition to his email address, in order to prove his identity. But if a dishonest casino want to lock your funds and not pay your winnings, he will just need to ask you endless additional documents on top of your initial KYC. So gamblers shouldn't feel safe because they've already pass one KYC.
1215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you handle long shot bets? on: June 01, 2023, 10:33:56 PM
I have this kind of problem ever since I started online gambling. I’m always bored playing same bet amount while my bankroll just keep coming back and fort to my initial bank roll.

The real problem starts when I’m on a long losing streak with same bet amount let's say 5 win streak. My mind set change from relax gambling to chasing loss. Even after I recover my loss, I bet already in abnormal pattern so that I can earn profit in a fast way. I always conclude my mistake after gambling. I keep repeating this cycle. My gambling time only ended up if I’m on profit big time or 100% loss my bankroll. I don’t know but it’s very hard for to quit gambling when my bankroll is at loss or on a little bit profit.

Anyone here is successful doing a long shot bet? A point were you can be satisfied without considering your bankroll status and just pure fun on gambling experience?
A simple strategy to avoid this kind of disappointment is to focus on the expected winnings instead of your stake. That is to say, instead of betting a same fixed stake whatever the odds are, you should adapt your stake to get the same expected winnings. That means your stake will be smaller when odds and risks are higher, so you will lose less money when you place risky bets that you are unlikely to win than when you place quite safe ones.
