Based on your excellent advice, I have now changed my pass phrase to: "ilovejustinbieber".

I said 22 random characters. "ilovejustinbieber" isn't random.

By the way, I am offering 50,000 Nxt plus  1 nem stake to anyone who can break a 15 character (no special characters).

The hash of the 15 char password is: 3164898B4DEE3FD994BCEA75F2C06B22903A8F89D3708C3FA666BA75C6EFB593

Should  be easy money for you.

Without knowing the key, wouldn't this basically be impossible?  lol

Cracking a 15 random character password like this one: Fp7fq7aHSRNupa5 ? Pretty close to impossible even for entire bitcoin network combines (well will take them 50+ years at current hash rate)

The problem is that people don't generate random passwords. If someone has a password like Philippians4:6-7 or a password like, "one small step for man, one giant step for mankind" then that easy to crack -- as these are not random characters. Pick 15 cards from a shuffled  deck of cards (that's how I picked that 15 char password in the challenge), and that is pretty close to impossible to crack

How was the hash you posted generated?  What I mean is that usually you'll generate the hash with a private key.  So not knowing what the private key is, it would seem to make it next to impossible to figure out the password.  Or is there some "standard" way of generating the private key for these sorts of things, like another sha256 hash of something?  Don't know much about this sort of stuff.

1223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: August 22, 2014, 09:41:32 AM
Qora said recently that if he does the wallet how he wants to then Qora will be unique.

Anyone want to speculate on what he might be talking about?

No idea really, but I hope he thinks more about what regular people are used to.  I've seen some other wallets lately and they're very nice.  In particular, the leaked Panda wallet that treats it more like a persons bank account type thing which they'd be used to.  The screenshots looked pretty promising.

Couple weeks back I had a look at this coin and it seemed pretty interesting especially since the price seemed fairly stable after the initial drop.  Set myself a watch point on the price where I would consider buying some but it's dropped far past that and seems to be continuing to drop.

What's the current supply?  One thing I've noticed is that coins with a billion or more coins pretty much always end up having very low prices.

So did something happen?  Please don't say fud and trolls as there's always a "real" reason.

Can anyone explain the buy order on BTER how those bids for the same price are not combining? Am I missing something?

I think it's a "bug" with Bter that happens occasionally.  I suspect that it's caused by a bot that blasts the orders out but with more precision. i.e. The bot splits things up into small chunks and fires off the orders with prices like 0.000023941, 0.000023942, 0.000023943 etc. After working with the APIs with a few exchanges I've found they all have certain "issues" IMO.

And this scam? http://crypti.me

And now you're just labeling it as a scam with zero facts which makes you nothing more than a troll.  I'll tell you what.  Since this is all so important to you since you want to "save" everyone, why don't you actually educate yourself and then "decompile" the code yourself and show everyone.  But you won't.  Cause you really don't give a shit and are just spreading crap to make yourself feel important.

You didn't answer my question though, which means you don't understand the difference and thus you're less than useless to any discussion as to whether or not it's a scam.

other than a Black coin or NXT clone

Do you understand the difference between C++, java and javascript via node.js?

does it make any sense?

There is no "sense" in alt coins from what I can see.  Most of it is just market manipulation and the rest of us are along for the ride.  Just look at DRK.  Plunged alongside CLOAK way, way down (I actually predicted 300k but damn, that happened a lot faster than I thought it would) but now it's driven way back up again to a level just before the crash?  Manipulation for sure.
1229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin on: August 21, 2014, 01:23:17 AM
There will be announcement soon (in several days I hope). I just need to implement everything right and write whitepaper.
This will take somewhat more time; I was quite busy in real life.

Manwhile I added more info to OP about current features of SpreadCoin: transactions in SpreadCoin are smaller than in Bitcoin. Although it was known for a long time that digital signatures in Bitcoin are space-inefficent I don't know about any other Bitcoin fork that cared to fix them.
Compact Transactions
SpreadCoin uses more compact representation for signatures in transactions. This leads to smaller transactions and, hence, smaller blockchain. See e.g. this transaction in SpreadCoin and similar transaction in Bitcoin, both transactions have 15 inputs and 1 output but SpreadCoin transaction takes 1661 bytes while Bitcoin one takes 2744.
See this thread for more info: https://bitcointalk.org/?topic=6430.0%29%3F

Also there is a Linux build for those who don't want to build it themselves.

Good stuff.  Keep it up.

I have been a cloak supporter since PoW and the devs have been active here and the whole projekt sounded great. But now with this info I have sold of most of my cloak holdings: http://pastebin.com/3KzxJxFA MrRGnome made the audit. And "The development team has insisted in taking shortcuts at every turn. It's a mess" "I wasn't left with much choice but to whistle blow". I really hope the dev can come back, but I just cant risk my money...  Cry

And now none of the devs is in the IRC to answer for this...

I read all of that and came to the conclusion that MrRGnome is a prima dona who, if he doesn't get his way, throws a temper tantrum.  I use to manage (and fire) guys like that.  I love the way he talks about doing his own coin though.  Now he's started some "fud" that will end up helping his cause as all the sheep will flock to it.  lol

Overall though, they all seem to be stressed out and infighting is common in that sort of environment.  Professionals find a way to work through it all and come out with something stronger in the end.  Nothing helps generate a great solution better than passionate "debate".

On the other hand. Nice fud that I'm sure will make some people a bunch of money off the subsequent dump/pump that will occur.

For being consistent in your post history, only posting "shit coin" in the threads you frequent, I award you 10,000 free shitcoins.  Just PM me your dogeparty address and I'll send them your way.

Had over 4M dogecoins months ago and i'm glad that i sold them at aprox 115 satoshi. I was so naive back then, but as soon as i found other innovative coins, i changed my opinion 180%. I just knew that doge will die a slow death. Great altcoin for introducing new people to crypto though. It was fun and motivated you to learn about bitcoin and its technology. Not to mention that it introduced me to doge-dice.com, where i had 4 months of pure intensity. Awesome chat and met some great guys along the way.

10,000 shitcoins on their way.

I love Doge. It's so easy to get 1000s which makes you feel "rich" lol... It really is a great coin for people to get their feet wet with. Plus, even though it's flatlined, you can still make money from it if you're patient. My first trades were with Doge and I managed about a 20% profit over a couple weeks just trying things out.

^^^The cyrpto stalker. Does nothing but bash coins. I don't even know what the hell this lil bitch said. Ignored the whore.

If you take a closer look at my posts history, you will see that i only bash shitcoins or coins ready to become shitcoins. CRYPT was at 200k when i caught the scam. Told people again and again that it will die like a piece of garbage. I even begged most of them to sell when it was already at 60k (weeks after went to all time low of 1.5k lol. I bashed cloak weeks ago when the price was at 200-300k... i bashed it again at 70k. I destroyed Keycoin also. I'm sorry for having this talent of figuring out which coin is legit and which one is a SHITCLONE.

So megashira1 is a sockpuppet account of TaunSew?  Aren't you two both NEM stakeholders as well?  Smiley

Was wondering if any one else caught that.  lol

unfortunately faucet seems broken. says 'invalid captcha' but doesn't ask for one

Just tried it myself and it worked. Maybe trying clearing cache, or another browser.

Smiley Thanks for dev's hard work

We'll plan to add nodecoin on our exchange.

BTC38 team

That would be great.  But I have zero desire to signup to a site using my facebook.

Anon in general is so overhyped, how many people is it truly going to be useful for anyway? People scared of their own shadows lol. As I've said before, its just a pump and dump tool to get investment flowing, hook line and sinker, moth to a flame... this is crypto trading. As a casual trader, I couldn't give two ****s about it tbh, if it makes the price go up for a profit then whoopty freaking do.

A certain segment of society wants to hide from the law and so wants anon.  That group also has millions of dollars they want to move around anonymously.  So which ever coin can provide that and is adopted by that group will become popular and thus will increase in price.  In other words, the coin that delivers and gets adopted could very well dethrone bitcoin at some point and become the defacto standard.

if librexcoin can come back from a massive dump then cloak can easily do the same.

What are you talking about? Where in this graph do you see Librexcoin making a come back after a dump? What I see is a coin that's just a play thing for the pump/dumpers. It was put in play as a pump and dump today, nothing more.

Im pretty sure if cloakcoin recovers just like LXC has cloak investrs including myself will be very happy LXC is ralying on incoming news....buy now as its heading to 20k+

I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but LXC was a scheduled pump and coincides with incoming news simply because the pumper knew he could take advantage of it.

You got to be suspicious cause up until quite late it was always marketed as a NXT clone but a simplified version literally called NXT Lite.

That's like saying MacOS and Windows are clones.  Or Android and iOS.  Being a "clone" in terms of functionality is a lot different than being a clone of the actual source code.

Once they release a source code we can say it's a new code, till then remain skeptical if you are wise.

It has to be fundamentally different code. It's written in Javascript where as NXT etc is written in Java. There's going to be some similarities and maybe even some portions of code will be ports.  But that could be said of a lot of programs.
