below 60k and it will be RIP cloakcoin Why's that? Just over a month ago it as as low as 36.7k and it wasn't dead. Since then there's been some small and one major pump and now it's settling back to previous levels. For the most part Coin markets seem to simply be driven by pumps and not much else since the vast majority are looking for a quick buck.

Interesting to see people talking of demise, only because the exchange rate is dropping. Are the developers actively working? Yes they are. Is thr network compromised? No, it isn't. So now that the pumpers & dumpers left it's time to care for things that are more important. P.S.: Just bought some Cloaks and looking forward to contribute to the community wake up dude, the price declined 80%. And dev made only one post: we're working on some stuff => ok..... sell? Ofcourse people start talking about demise. There would be no reason to talk about demise if people were smart enough to look at a graph and see that the price was inflated due to a pump around the 28th and things are simply returning to a more realistic level. But that's probably too much to expect.

Was wondering what those "coins" were that showed up in my balance. It's a pretty good idea but I hate to say it's not the first to do this. Curecoin has been doing it for awhile now and they're #9 on the team list for folding@home. On my list of things to try out when I have some time.

PoSA released - price goes down.
CloakPal released - price goes down.
This coin seems really weird. lol
What happened around the 28th? Looks like there was a pump and now the coin is just slowly making it's way back down to the levels prior to that regardless of new features/announcements.

All these coins are basically no different than stocks and because of that, I believe it's mostly due to it being summer. Couple quotes: There is an old wives' tale on Wall Street, summed up by the expression: "Sell in May, go away, and don't come back till St Leger's Day." ...... Read the paper by professors Ben Jacobsen and Cherry Zhang at Massey University in New Zealand. They've basically looked at data for more than 100 stock markets. In some cases, such as Britain's, their data has gone back three centuries ....... In a nutshell: Year after year, decade after decade, stock markets have generated all their returns in the winter months.
"Sell in May and go away" is strategy that some investors and traders are likely contemplating right now ....... The adage is based on the historically weaker performance of stocks during the May through October time period. Adherents shift from stocks to cash at the beginning of May and then invest back into stocks at the start of November ....... Historical performance shows there are best and worst six-month periods for stocks. Jeff Hirsch at the Stock Trader’s Almanac calculates that the Dow Jones industrial average has an average return of just 0.3% during the worst six-month period (May through October) since 1950 ...... Conversely, during the best six months (November through April), the Dow has an average gain of 7.5%. Sam Stovall at S&P Capital IQ says the S&P 500 has risen by a mere 1.2% during the average worst six-month period, while rising 6.9% during the average best six-month period. (Sam’s numbers go back to 1945.)

Sorry - took me a lil bit to figure out how to upload pics but I see you've already left. Does that mean you're going to pay up? Here's spreadcoin main.cpp with it's missing pchMessageStart hex code: Here's what's supposed to be in the file: As you're a dev... you know this is the magic set of numbers that identifies the coin's network. I'll be happy to post proof for you, but you can consult Google. Oh, these values are located in a couple of places throughout the main.cpp file... well, supposed to be anyways, it was nowhere in your file. You must've known that I lost quite a few coins a couple of weeks ago. this really made my day, thank you! Funny.. Cause I just looked at the Darkcoin source which this is based on and it doesn't set those values either in LoadBlockIndex. DarkCoin bool LoadBlockIndex() { if (fTestNet) { hashGenesisBlock = uint256("0x00000bafbc94add76cb75e2ec92894837288a481e5c005f6563d91623bf8bc2c"); }
// // Load block index from databases // if (!fReindex && !LoadBlockIndexDB()) return false;
return true; } Spreadcoin bool LoadBlockIndex() { hashGenesisBlock = getGenesisBlock().GetHash();
// // Load block index from databases // if (!fReindex && !LoadBlockIndexDB()) return false;
return true; } Looks to me like you owe the dev 1BTC.. lol

Tried the faucet again and didn't get anything. Got the email, clicked the link and the site said it was confirmed etc but haven't got anything. What block is Firecoin at? My wallet says 8373. Is this the official block explorer? Cause it says 8166 but it also seems "stuck". http://fireblocks.chainworks.info:8324/chain/FirecoinSorry if your referring to the CryptocoinTools faucet, I had to take the server down recently. I am in the works of swapping this out and re-installing Firecoind again. I will let you guys know as soon as I get that all back up agian. Yep, that's the one I was trying as it's the only one I know about. Thanks for the update.

I'm surprised at the lack of faucets for a lot of coins as they're a good way for non miners to at least ensure that their wallets etc are all working correctly. Here's a little I know about some coin faucets.
Bitcoin has a boatload, doge has a pretty good number. Was surprised that RDD has about 5 but one is broken. Most others are lucky to have 1.
Hmmm....could that be part of the reason bitcoin and dogecoin are so popular among non-technical people who couldn't mine even if you set up rig for them and all they had to do was flip a switch? Certainly doesn't hurt to have more exposure for a coin. There's well over 100 bitcoin faucets. I've found about 23 doge ones. Interestingly, a site that has a few faucets is running a poll for what faucet they should add next and darkcoin is leading the way by a big margin.
|
|
|
@dev, you should consider adding a "Mining" tab in the wallet. Have a look at AppleByte. It's cool that you can mine via their pool from the wallet with that one.
|
|
|
Only bitcoin is being "used" to process payment right now.
I do not see any other coin that is used for payment.
Via sites using GoCoin, bitcoin, litecoin and dogecoin can be used for payments.

Congrats to the winner.
Anyone know if the faucet is working? Tried it probably 12+ hours ago but have yet to receive anything. So not sure if it's the faucet or something else.
Yes the faucet is working. You need to verify your email and then accept each payment via email for your free FireCoin. If you haven't verified or accepted the Fire via your registered email address than thats the issue. Takes only about a minute after I confirm via email to get my FireCoin from the faucet! - VR hmmm.. I got 1 email, a confirmation, which I did. I'll try again a bit later.

...and her fans start mining.... How could her fans possibly mine a scrypt coin and actually get anything? They'd think they could actually do it and then after mining for a few hours turn around and flood the net with messages saying it's just a scam thus killing it. lol

We need more miners of this coin. It is a good coin: no premine, fair launch, still solo-minable by wallet. Would be nice if some pool (or the Dev) would be able to adapt some miner code in order for it to be minable with pools. It is X11 with an adaption in the timestamp code: 64 bit instead of 32 bit. Any poolowner around that has the skills to work on this?
Not possible. The hex values needed to identify the network is missing from the source code: SCAM COIN In what way is this a scam? No pools to monopolize mining so even with my crappy old computer I can mine. dev is just working on the coin in his spare time with no rush/desire to get it on an exchange where it will be dumped and killed before it can go anywhere. Compared to every other coin that gets released, this one is farthest from looking like a scam coin.

I'm surprised at the lack of faucets for a lot of coins as they're a good way for non miners to at least ensure that their wallets etc are all working correctly. Here's a little I know about some coin faucets.
Feathercoin - there's 1 but it doesn't seem to ever payout.
Darkcoin - No faucet although one has been in development for weeks now.
Fractalcoin - one faucet that's up and down. Think I got a payout once, maybe twice from it.
NXT - just one working faucet so far which is surprising.
Litecoin - Only seems to have 3. Have yet to get a payout on any of them. One of them reset everything and the other just pops up stuff all the time.
Bitcoin has a boatload, doge has a pretty good number. Was surprised that RDD has about 5 but one is broken. Most others are lucky to have 1.
If I was doing a site I'd probably start with all the popular well known coins (to kick start traffic to the site) and then add other ones that I felt could be popular.

Viper i have sent you 2 PM's Alrighty. The purely .exe file was the same result. With the older one, I ran it and it started to work setting things up etc. Then it died and spit out this error: EXCEPTION: St13runetime_error CDB(): can't open database file, error 1 Restarted it and it started to work (was fiddling with conf files as well). Wasn't connecting to anything so added a conf file and now it's downloading the blockchain. Stopped and started it a couple times and so far it's ok. Would this be the correct config file? And I assume it only has to go in the AppDat directory right? server=1 listen=1 rpcuser=user rpcpassword=pass rpcport=27554 addnode=46.165.208.140:49697 addnode=162.243.198.249:49697 addnode=24.85.126.229:49697 addnode=103.22.181.239:49697 addnode=108.163.232.221 addnode=37.59.21.58 addnode=http://firecoin.tk/ Just to check if it was related to things being setup or not, I retried all the other ones and they still do the same thing.

I suggest deleting everything (Save wallet.dat if you have coins) and start over. Make sure your App/data is cleared too. Then reinstall dont change anything and only open the QT. Let me know if that works.
It doesn't even get to the point of creating the paths and data etc. As soon as I click on it it pops up the error message. Usually that means some sort of crash type bug. I installed Cloak yesterday and it had a missing dll but came up with an error saying that. So I don't "think" it would be a missing dll but I don't know the differences between all these wallets. Can you PM me the debug.txt file, it's usually located at AppData\Roaming\Firecoin. Ill take a look and see if there is anything obvious in there. It doesn't get to the point of creating the directories, thus no debug file. lol Is there an older 32 bit version I can try running maybe?

Well. He's certainly entertaining. Didn't take me long to see that his "fact" threads never contain any facts though. Just lots of he said, she said type stuff. Not to mention him saying one thing in one thread and something else in another. lol
your comment sucks and i think you portray the role of shell account lippy NOOB douche well. there is a "Fact" for you Only "fact" in there is the noob part. I'm surprised that you're 38, unless that's a lie. You certainly don't act like a 38 year old with comments like that. Those of us that are older can usually come up with much better responses than calling people douches, running around saying everyone is stupid and an idiot. no where else would you take a volunteer working tirelessly for free
You don't do it as some noble public service. You do it because it gets you off. It fills some "need" in you that you don't get in your real life. you guys obviously make or support scam coins or you wouldn't be saying shit like this so congrats for screaming i support scam coins loudly.. idiots lol Only someone that is delusional would assume that critisim leveled at someone would equate to support of something else. But I suppose it's just more proof that you suffer from a martyrdom complex. By the way i don't take criticism about my personality from little fucking noobs.. sorry your opinion means fuck all.. come back in a year maybe till then stfu period
And yet you felt the need to respond to me which is always a sign that it does mean something to the person. And thank you. I'll be sure and take your "order" to heart since it's coming from someone so important on here.
