I replaced daemon&wallet files in the folder but I accidentally deleted '.bin'. Will it work without it? A daemon will work fine but unfortunately you won't be able to use your wallet. All you want is wallet.bin .keys. If you have this file or backup of this file your coins are safe. Just run: simplewallet --wallet-file wallet.binsimplewallet will find your wallet.bin.keys file and generate .bin file. Remember that .bin file is just a cache. |

I've tried to run Monero binaries on my mac, it turned out that my Mac need to install additional library. Is there anyway to make OSX version easier to use as Windows version, just download the binaries and run ? dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/local/lib/libboost_system-mt.dylib

I find the wallet syncing not only to take a ridiculous amount of time downloading less than 80 megs for 24h~ worth of blochain updates, but it makes the interent connection unusable, and with unusable - I mean exactly that, it strugles to load a simple google front page. What exactly is going on when it needs 45 mins + to download less than 80 megs, that is some serious skill to get it to complely hog up my 2mbit connection, yet not actually utilizing the available download bandwidth to actually DL the block chain in a reasonable amount of time.

I have following question. Is it possible to open blockchain.bin (I use win7, so mine is located in %appdata%/roaming/bitmonero) with some database tool ?
I would like to extract all relevant info from blockchain.bin, like difficulty, height, ... and make my own graphs for research. I would like to know if this is possible so I don't have to rely on an API (like monerochain.info's API).
I also wonder how one can know the network's hashing rate. Do you have to calculate it from the difficulty at every blockheight, or is there some other way ?

Not yet. IIRC team is working on some database nature of blockchain. But you can explore every block and build your own database for research. |

No one care about shitcoins, such crap appears every day here: glyph, burner, bluechips. Bittrex is a new craddle of such useless dust and like cryptorush it will die. I am 100% sure. All such exchanges will share the same destiny. |
