1241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin usage in crime activity. on: April 02, 2023, 07:53:13 AM
Regardless of whether criminals use Bitcoin or fiat to facilitate illicit activities under the hood, at the end of the day, they are free to use whatever they want as long as it is convenient for them, and there is nothing we can do about it.

Plus, the notion that "bitcoin is used only for buying illegal shit" is perhaps a clever move of the government to brainwash people. They know that the average person does not bother to do their own due diligence, when in fact using bitcoin is much more unsafe than conducting transactions using fiat.

It's not like nothing we can do, we could actually report some addresses that doing illegal stuff to be aware with them. Much better to get traced but due to its decentralized system it would be hard for them to get caught that's why most of the criminal deeds are also open in Bitcoin. And some scammers who caught some newbies that doesn't have an idea to their crime. It would be hard to retrieve what's loss.

That's the pros and cons of Bitcoin, it give people power to control and decide for themselves wether to win or lose without exposing your identity. However the cons of it is that its also open to illegal activities especially the volatility of it unlike fiat money.

1242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Starting my master's degree in bitcoin on: April 01, 2023, 04:18:13 PM
It's a good thing that the OP aims to deeply understand some factors in Bitcoin in master degree. However, I think it would be unnecessary to travel across El Salvador to enhance your knowledge in Bitcoin. There's a lot of information in the internet and questions you can search for it. But if you really want to get that degree despite the language could be hard to communicate in other countries. Many universities abroad have what you seeking. You can browse here to find what suits for you.

'Di ko ko muna pinansin kaya nag explore muna ko tas post sa mga topics nung c-click ko na yung post nagulat ako yung CAPTCHA flappy bird? Nung pangatlong post na  'ko "35 points to post" sinuko ko na tinanggap ko na tapos dun ko nalaman na doon galing yung spammer. Buti nalang ni refresh ko naging 10 points kaya nawala uli.
1244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying bills with digital currency cards, gift cards on: April 01, 2023, 12:22:24 PM
How were your items being calculated without you putting them in a machine that scanned all goods to know their prices?
I am still shock to see this because the country where I came from you still need to queue on the long line for sales rep to attend to you which I feels very disappointing undergoing through those hard processes.

I think this method of payment already existed before, there's an open store with just a box of money where you pay and take a change from it. If I remember right its from Japan since the people in there are generous and honest. If you were asking about that machine's name I don't know what is it called but the process is called self checkout not sure if the machine is also called like that, where you don't need to be assisted which you have to simply put your items in the box to get scan. Once you're done scanning you will just need to pay cash or digital currency. That's the pros of it, the convenience it gave to the customers and employees but the cons of it, is it open to theft. No one will assist you to scan your goods which could be the high chance of stealing. There's a lot of people stolen items with this kind of system due to it's way of catching theft is based on the scale weight of the items. They could simply put it in their body to avoid getting check and walk like nothing happened.
1245  Economy / Economics / Re: Benefit from Higher Education? on: April 01, 2023, 10:38:54 AM
Benefit from higher education of course it's true, many people think that to be successful you don't need higher education, but if we look at the actual facts, then the top 100 rich people are those who have higher education, such as Elon Musk, Bill Gates and others.

Very wrong idea on having that in mind that you shouldnt focus on going to school and finish up studies because it is really something useless.

Having a degree is not useless especially if you aim to have a higher position in work industry. Since a lot of well paying job required a degree where they find a people who already have prior knowledge and skills. Even if you hire someone you'll ask them for their knowledge regarding to the specific position in jobs for them to get accepted. There's already OJT (on job training) which is required in the university for you to have experience once you graduated. For what I observed that people who rather build up their money earlier is the people who doesn't want to finish college. Which is also good since you're also studying for your great future to get a well paying job. And their common money sources would be businesses because they have the mindset of they should be the boss not an employee.

For some people who become successful without having a degree or education then i consider out to be lucky and not all would really be ending up on the same path. Yes, we could acquire skills but we know that having some educational background could really give out that kind of advantage if we do speak about ideas and learning that we do have able to acquire in school. Having educational background and getting a degree is always advisable because not all people do end up on being successful even having no education attainment.

It's not all about luck, it's about your hard work and consistency. Imagine you choose either of the two paths but still ending up nothing, then the problem is not the system but its already you. That's why having an education background or none wouldn't be always be the basis on their success in life, its all about the effort you make to achieve your goals.
1246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Online casino always take risks? on: April 01, 2023, 07:34:25 AM
I am just curious about how does online casino pay for their promotion on their influencers?
Where does their earning comes from?

Any kinds of promotions to their casino would count as advertisement where viewers would try it, which increases the number of players as well their revenue. From that they could get like 10% from any player would join from their link which count as payment for them. Only downside about this is that some influencer doesn't mind if their promoting a gambling site is a scam as long as they profit due to they can defend themselves by saying "they are paid to promote it". And those earnings from gambling they get it from gamblers who losses from their game.

How will you get scammed when you try online casino?

How can you tell that online casino is safe?

Some of scams in online casino is the casino itself whenever you win big time you couldn't even cashout you assets. And the promotion itself where some clickbaits thumbnails indicating that you can earn by just signing in.

To tell if a casino is safe you could notice on their system like the CAPTCHA to avoid bots, double measure on signing to make sure you're the one is logging in and etc. You could also do some research about the casino itself before trying out or start at minimum first.

1247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Volatility on: April 01, 2023, 05:26:51 AM
Bitcoin's volatility is one of its features that turns off a lot of people. When someone expresses interest in investing, the majority of financial counselors advise them to avoid doing this. Because it is one of the most volatile assets ever, I believe that is why the adage "invest only what you can afford to lose" exists.
Agreed, I saw people avoid bitcoin because of its volatility, but I love bitcoin for that. Volatility gives me more chances to buy bitcoin and store them for the future. I don't know which financial counselors advise people not to invest in bitcoin but I am sure that those so called gurus don't have any prior knowledge about finance.

That's the point of Bitcoin's volatility. If its price doesn't change for a long time which its value remain the same, many people couldn't buy its price as it won't pump. Same thing to hodlers of bitcoin where they can't profit if it isn't volatile. It's volatility increases more the possibility of benefits especially if you have prior knowledge and experience about Bitcoin.

If you don't have those knowledge and experience about how Bitcoin works, then it's volatility can be deadly for you and those losses that you get would benefit more to others.
1248  Economy / Economics / Re: Should you save, when you are wealthy? on: April 01, 2023, 03:12:21 AM
Of course. You should always save money even if you are wealthy already. Don't forget that there never be enough money. And the more you have, the more you spend, so it's a good idea to keep saving in case all your money sources will go away one day for some reason.

And you can also use this money to give them to your kids when they will be older, which is good too.

Having a savings is always a good thing especially if you know that you spend too much money to unnecessary things. But if you're wealthy that you can live with a extra money I would invest it since you can live enough without thinking of your budget. If you're planning to have a long term savings I recommend it to invest it where everything of the prices goes up with the inflation might as well your investment. For a long time those investment will boom which you can give to your kids. There's no guarantee that you'll make a profit but as long you can balance your money, it wouldn't be a problem. Since the money in the line is you can afford to lose you can win or lose. However always do your own research before investing.
1249  Economy / Economics / Re: Try to save money while you still can, will you ? on: March 31, 2023, 05:21:11 PM
It is too risky to wait until danger strikes before thinking of saving. Saving starts at the point of budgeting. I can also understand why savings may be difficult in this present day. A lot of economies are facing inflation, recession, and a general meltdown. Salaries are not even enough to sustain an unmarried person not to talk of a person who is married with kids.

Savings should be a lifestyle if you're aiming for future consequences. Like being practical to common things before impulsively spending your money or income. It's not only applicable for "in case of emergency" type of savings such as accidents, but for future expenses that you'll have to pay soon. As the OP mentioned, it would be hard to have savings as the economic situation worsen. Since prices go up in the market but the incomes of the people remain the same. For you to overcome this situation it would be better to have proper planning to money and be practical. OP also mentioned marriage which also involved family planning that concern the financial status of a persons if they can support to build a family. If you can't, don't

The income is so small that it is almost impossible to have any savings. If you can save. No matter how little save. Even if it is just 2 percent of your income or whatever money that comes into your account, save.

Save is save, any amount would count as save as long you don't planning to use that money sooner or later. Let's always think ahead for us to be motivated to keep our money save or much better invest it. But I don't recommend it since low income which you can't afford to risk more money in a volatile system.

1250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin Was the Only Cryptocurrency? on: March 31, 2023, 05:00:24 PM
No competition, I could really imagine that Bitcoin price will never reach what the price it has today, not even $10k I think. And cryptocurrency will just be ignored rather than expecting hype and popularity.

Same thought about this, Bitcoin alone wouldn't last long without it's foundation. Which is the alternate coins which existed due to Bitcoin. But I think it would still reach thousands since people still invested at it without worth. I remember many people who owned a lot if Bitcoin back in the days, they don't even know that it would worth a lot like today's value which shows the unpredictable market of Bitcoin. It's still been acknowledged before so I think it can be independent but without the huge value. Maybe more promotions will help it to be a long term.

1251  Economy / Economics / Re: less risk or big profit? on: March 31, 2023, 03:59:16 PM
When I was in school, I had a sir who always said that no matter what you do, always work with faith and courage and always try to take risks because if you don't take risks you can't achieve success in life.

But risk should be taken only when there is no alternative but to take the risk.

But if there is a possibility of profit by investing with less risk then why should I lose my money by taking unnecessary risk.  But if taking a risk has a high probability of success, I will take that risk.

Your professor is right, the fact of not risking to life would not lead you to success which can be seen when you left your comfort zone and find opportunities. Because if you stay at the stage of "what if?" then you'll not progress as you don't want to try things out. But in crypto, risk couldn't be rely on your courage and faith. You'll have to have enough knowledge and experience as well your capability to have a stable mentality on deciding when to risk and not. If you think the risk could lead to success then it's worth risking, however if you only visualize the negative side then don't take it. Its safer to take these risk if the money in the line is the money that you can afford to lose. I always follow my instinct with this kind of things especially if the money is involved.
1252  Economy / Economics / Re: Cheap food: can you beat this price in your country? on: March 31, 2023, 03:19:04 PM
I would also like add a nuance, that with cheap food you can not find balance between quality, being full, taste, portion size. What is the point of eating a dish for $1, if it taste like cardboard and you will feel hungry again in an hour. What is the point of eating cheapest possible food to save on normal food, when you later need to spend on medicine to fix stomach.

This is the pros and cons in eating cheap foods just to save your money. Of course its given when you compare a $1 foods to let's say $10 foods, that they differ on the qualities of it which ain't enough to some people to satisfy. But from my experience which I heard a lot in grandparents. Eating such unhygienic foods like street food could help you to have a strong stomach. And I thought of it as a joke. But some says that it's good to have some bad bacteria in order to protect our body. But for me its better to stay healthy than believing in phrases.

Quote
OP, does "free" counts as "beating cheapest food price" that you have mentioned in your post? I think each country have their so called salvation armies, or places where people are fed for free. That is the cheapest food a person can find.

But it would be better to give it to people who is in need. And those privileges were given to them since they served the country. Why would you get free food if you could afford to buy one? If you want to get free food it would be better to get it in where some funds were intentionally given to an event, which they provide free food for its audience in short promotion or advertisement for foods.
1253  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 2years of trading! on: March 31, 2023, 02:52:40 PM
i was started trading 2 years ago, and i learned so many things and written some rules and tips that i learned after every trade,
i thought it is helpful to many of other traders, and also so many good quotes are there, read one quotes think understand move to other quote, and follow.
discipline is most important to trade like a robot, discipline matter more than winrate.

If you've started trading 2 years ago, then you'll understand that win rate also matter as a trader. Because being discipline without having wins is just a result of no progress in trading. Its a good thinking that being calm and discipline in any situation to the market as a trader, but eventually it won't last. That's the point of attaining knowledge about the trading to be familiarize any possible outcomes that we all aiming which is "winning".

Trading is not about reading of books or hypothesis of other traders but you have to be there and done that yourself.

It's obvious that trading doesn't always rely to the information that written in the books. It aims for people to enhance their basic knowledge in trading to familiarize to it. There's a lot of free websites online that could help you to deeply understand trading. Which is better since in online some of them is updated unlike in the book was published, it would be hard to keep on the trend. That's why some of the books teach the basics on trading.

1254  Economy / Economics / Re: How Long in Years Should I Wait Before I Close Down an Unprofitable Business on: March 31, 2023, 01:42:12 PM
I agree with his statement, imagine operating your business for three years without improvement, you should let go of it. Because if you're really into that business you would do something that will help for your business to boom. If its no progress then it would be consider as a hobby. However, there's a scenario where some businesses are not meant for you, therefore you can connect your hobbies to your business for example, you really like collecting shoes and you've decided to resell as a business. Then it would be easier for you to have an idea on how to run your businesses since you have a good background on how to handle shoes.

1256  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How much you have earned through crypto referral on: March 30, 2023, 10:01:39 PM
The worst part is when you invited like three people, the site would eventually tells you to do some tasks in order to receive the prizes. Once you done it it will just continue to on giving tasks until you haven't notice you've done a lot and still not getting the money. Sometimes referrals will give you money for each invited but its not a full money its like 1/4 of the mentioned prizes. For you to get it in whole you'll have to follow it. Influencers mostly benefits from this since a lot of follower would try to earn from their idols. When the site like rugpulled they will just alibi that they are paid to advertise it.
1257  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you profitable? on: March 30, 2023, 01:34:00 PM
In trading many people especially online influencers and traders, Are they really profitable? many new people trapped buy listening to those influencers that they say just you need to buy at this line and sell at this line. and whoa! you made profit, They just teaches people basic TA and charge huge amount to learn. but they doesn't share their personal journal or something, they say us that you need to make an journal, do that, do that ,
but they don't share there trades, I really get jealous of that kind of people they say to innocent people that you can make money out of this, and make money selling courses which i very basic that we can learn from a good affordable book.
some traders trade live and share there losses and wins, and after a month they share there total PnL(profit and loss) and they made real profits, (some people say they just share there other account's Pnl , we can't know that)

It's common in online influencers to have clickbait videos and thumbnails that say "how to easily earn in trading" which gather more audience for them to be interested to learn and you'll have to pay to learn. Some of they teach is true since I learned some basics from it, but for you to have a deep understanding and wide knowledge about it which they ask you to join their team. Of course if they share their journal it would fud viewers since its impossible for them to reach that stage without loss. Seeing those loss would fear them to risk in crypto.

Quote
My question is are your profitable trader and can you share you journal or something ?, many of us will feel motivated.

Having our own journal is like a private diary of yours, since there's a lot of mistakes before you regain your profits in PnL. It's a long journey and I'm not yet ready to share it here. Maybe more improvements and good calls but all I can share is that I've improved a lot than before.
1258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An unknown person or group may be collecting the IP addresses of Bitcoin on: March 30, 2023, 01:15:28 PM
I don't know for sure however, a look at the entity's behavior suggests that it might try to determine if a certain node is reachable at a certain IP address by linking to their Bitcoin address.
But is this method possible by determining its bitcoin address that simple. Its clearly an attempt to do that and if forced thats a violation of privacy. Im wondering why the government wouldnt try to use a platform for this to hunt those scammers. Maybe it will be helpful but this will also be a chaos for those people who only eant their identity hidden.

Government can't use this method as mentioned that it was a violation of privacy even they don't try to show it to public. This is one of the pros but the one I consider cons is that once their system is hacked, it's possible that those data might leak. There's many events that have the same scenario just like this. For example Facebook was sued for the same situation where the CEO of Facebook ( Mark Zuckerberg ) was in court. Recently I've also seen the TikTok CEO also having the same situation which he had to defend the privacy data of it's users.
1259  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Early Profit can be misleading. on: March 30, 2023, 10:30:44 AM
So profiting as a newbie would consider as misleading? Isn't that the point of good outcome? It seems like for a new traders that the very start of their trading and they already win it's maybe luck but I guarantee that those successful trades was made only for them to do their own research having enough knowledge to every move they do. Of course as they continues their journey in the trading world. They would meet a lot of challenges and some mistakes which could help them to improve. It can enhance their mental ability to have a wise decision also their emotional state to trade.
1260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Taxes on NFT holders on: March 30, 2023, 08:27:28 AM
As far as I know, it would be impossible for government to put taxes on decentralized market. Here in my country, NFT games were popular especially in the times of pandemic. A lot of investor tried this kind of investment where it reach to the point that it has been acknowledged by the media and news. They interviewed people who profit and asked them questions such as what they did to their money. Some bought houses, motorcycle and build businesses.

Due to its popularity, government take initiative to how people can earn that much without paying taxes. They announced it to the public that taxes will be included when playing NFT games. Of course they can't do that in the end its still decentralized.  Maybe in the next decades some games every transactions will include taxes fee. It just need some proper documentation and legalisation.
