1264  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC for L$ Linden Dollars on: April 19, 2013, 03:34:30 PM
Do people still play that game? 0.0

Hahahaha. I get that one a lot when I tell people what I do for a living. Basically Linden Labs messed up when they removed gambling, number of players went down drastically from there. They also moved prostitutes to "Mature" areas, etc.

In the good old days you might sell 5-8kUSD in a single night to a single casino owner, now a days it mostly a medium size number of smaller transactions.

So yeah, people still play and the Linden Dollar relative to the USD is a VERY stable currency but the the market has shrunk considerably from its peak back in 07.

Best.

Very true. It is a worthwhile economy to be looking into though for people (like bitcoiners) who are interested in virtual currencies.
Why do you reply to yourself?  Cheesy

I think 99% of the people who use linden dollar on this forum does not play the game and probably don't even know it, it is just a way to buy bitcoins by buying linden dollars with a credit card
1266  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do Bitcoins need something REAL to back them? on: April 19, 2013, 03:21:56 PM
Actually bitcoin is much better if electricity goes away

Grab a generator, use a satellite internet connection and ta-dah, it works.

Meanwhile the whole traditional banking system, atm, credit cards and the other electronic idiocies are unable to work due to their fail centralization.
1267  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-04-19 The Times - Don't write off Bitcoins as just another bubble on: April 19, 2013, 03:19:18 PM
Wow, looks like a well written article
1268  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-04-18 Forbes - Bitcoin: Good Computer Science but no Monetary Understanding on: April 19, 2013, 03:16:33 PM
Epic fail article.

I wonder if they are paid to purposely write fail article... or is it just pure incompetency?

1272  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - Will it survive? on: April 19, 2013, 05:42:20 AM
We had tons of hacking, scam and whatever in these years. But, no matter what, bitcoin survived. And it will survive.
1273  Economy / Economics / Re: Here is a real bubble - gold on: April 18, 2013, 06:59:20 PM
Sounds like a ponzi to me.

It's not even as if many shops will accept it as currency.

Does anyone even know the where the guy is who first figured out how it works, or how to mine it, or why anyone should believe it has any value whatsoever?

Plus, I read somewhere that drug dealers and terrorists use it.

[Edit: not trolling gold. Gold good. Just showing dumb attacks on bitcoin are dumb.]

EPIC
1274  Economy / Economics / Re: We need to break the loop FIAT->BTC->FIAT on: April 18, 2013, 06:56:58 PM
Bitcoin is about freedom, forcing your idea will fail. If people want to sell bitcoins for fiat, it is their right to do so.

1278  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do ASICS for litecoin exist? on: April 18, 2013, 04:39:28 PM
Since Litecoins seem to be immune from ASICs...is it worth building a GPU rig for mining?
Seems like the difficulty keeps increasing every other day.
Bullshit, learn what ASIC is before posting false things.
1279  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do ASICS for litecoin exist? on: April 18, 2013, 04:09:56 PM
