1261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: increased Youtube Gambling ads? on: June 02, 2023, 12:07:09 PM
Well, it's possible that Youtube feels that there is a decrease in revenue in advertising, so Youtube places gambling advertisements on each user's account. And we can only block it by using the filter provided for us so that at least the ads displayed in each video can match the video we are watching.

And we don't need to focus on those ads and it's better to just look for the videos we want. That way, we won't be tempted by the gambling advertisements we see and can prevent ourselves from playing gambling in casinos that we don't know.

Youtube Revenue are not generated that way, people give ads for Youtube to run it for them, they cannot decide to run ads without payment from any company or when they are not instructed to make awareness in their platform, the algorithm might be the cause maybe even a bug might have been the reason why the increase in the gambling ads since they know that the US is fighting alternative way to reduce gambling advertisement everywhere and not just US alone, other countries are concern by the rise of gambling ads everywhere, they know that this companies are making money from it and players are the ones who usually make the lost at the end of the day, the gambling house always win at the end.
1262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Behavioural signs that suggest you are Addicted to Gambling on: June 02, 2023, 11:31:05 AM
As gambling addiction can be a challenging issue that can have a very harmful impact on an individual's life. it is always recommended to find a professional helpb rather struggling with it. Do you agree with those behaviours? If not then you can suggest some, that can be added to this topic.

I believe that this generalized how addiction affects people; other behavior are unique to people. I've seen the 5 facts you mentioned, but at the same time, I've seen gamblers who are addicted hate people around them because people he was losing and couldn't help socialize with others, he also has this character of not having an appetite to eat, always thinking how to make more money to balance his losses and when he tried again, he always lost the money and every time becomes bitter, unhappy with himself and people who come close to him. I've also witnessed people lose their sense of logic as a result of addiction-related losses.
1263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crazy Sports Betting Idea on: June 01, 2023, 10:33:57 PM
This is just the premier league only, there are other managers who were sacked in the other leagues. So I was thinking, isn't there a way to bet on managers who will most likely be fired by their club management before the season ends judging based on their performance?

At least sport bettors should have the pleasure of making these kind of bets too. I know it sounds crazy but that's what has been on my mind. Do you think it is feasible? Do you think sports bookies will incorporate this type of betting?

This depends on the place where the manager end the season and as the season progress, the matches they have won before the January transfer period, there is no way you can detect if a manager will be sack except when there is end of contract which may warrant renew or end of the contract, I don't think it will be fun to bet on this kind of category, it is an option that is not closer to 50:50, you will only lose everything you have because the Odds would be tempting judging by the behaviour of betting companies, they will do anything to attract players to play that option.
1264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: June 01, 2023, 10:25:11 PM
It was an interesting game last night, both team played like a champions. this is how a final game should be, i just felt bad for coach Mourinho for looking his first European final,  Sevilla has again shown that they own this cup, winning it for eight times is something amazing, it was a beautiful night for the Spanish club.

penalty is a lucky game, any team can have it, i don't blame any players for missing the penalties.

Mourinho was mad yesterday and the reaction was all over his face even when they interviewed him, seems he went outside after the match to wait for the Refree that handle the match because there was an obvious handball that was ignored and he felt Roma was cheated for ignoring such mistake by a Referee that call his self professional person. I don't like it when tough match enter into Penalty because no matter how much a team is so good, they can make mistake in the Penalty period but if we are to speak the truth, Sevilla deserve that trophy, if not that the goal didn't come, they played Roma in the second half intensively.
1265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 01, 2023, 10:18:33 PM
We have all said the same thing, City is better, Inter may shock but not likely. That's okay, we all talked about that and thats done. What I wonder if there could be any extra betting anyone looks at. Like sure moneyline just pure City win makes sense, you will most likely win that, but what else? Would corners make sense? Would goal difference? Will both team score? How about how many bookings all game long?

I do not know what people are thinking about those smaller bets, not many people talk about that. We all talk about who is going to win but that's an easy bet, I want to know about smaller bets and what you guys think about that, because betting on City doesn't make too much back, I want to know and learn about more bets so I can get something better in return.

Do you think what happen to Roma and Sevilla is likely to happen here in Champions League, it will be imposibble for Inter to score a goal and be able to keep Manchester City in the dark just like Roma did in Europa League against Sevilla, when a team is strong and the weaker team lead with a first goal in the beginning of the match, it will always be difficult for them to hold them, Inter cannot hold Manchester City, they are not that type of team that can do that to Manchester City and even if they want to dare, it wouldn't happen in this Champions League, Manchester City remain my favourite though.
1266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you use a VPN on a casino, even if it is not allowed in their ToS? on: June 01, 2023, 10:09:31 PM
I know this is a bit controversial, but some casinos are looking the other way... when people are using VPNs. I know it might be legal in some instances, but you are still taking a risk by using it.

Online gambling is legal in my country, but sometimes I have to travel to a country where it is illegal. I then use a VPN to be able to access the site. This is one of the reasons why some casinos allow people to use VPNs..... but you are still taking a huge risk.

Now, the question is.... Will you still use a VPN, if it is not allowed by the ToS on the site. What will you do if they "block" your account and take your balance?

When you are prohibited from doing something by the government, I think it should remain like that. Doing the opposite will only land you in trouble because if you are found guilty of such crime, you will be fine or jailed if the need be. You will not only lose your reputation, you might also lose all the money you have made from the gambling all been forfeit for the government pocket.

You should never use a VPN to access gambling platform, you made it clear that the ToS made it clear that it was bad thing to do, doing so will have you lose your account at long last and you will also lose the money in it; two things are involve with this, you will either lose to your government or the gambling platform.
1267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 01, 2023, 09:31:53 PM
Arsenal's adventure in the Premier League continues if they are too afraid to spend a lot of money to buy top players every season. Arsenal can't win titles if they always prioritize regular players who improve during training, that's difficult even if they come from their own academy. I know it's their way of business that seems to be lagging behind when other teams like Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United are competing to get great players to make their team's strengths even better.

The way you are attacking Arsenal looks like you didn't watch Arsenal performance this season, Arsenal became incapacited in some matches and it is understandable because every strong team undergoes such hard times too but the record is there that Arsenal remain one of the best performing teams after Machester City. If Arteta is given a limited amount of money to buy new players, I don't think he will want to spen everything on a single player, he will do so according to budget, they had low budget players this finished season and they were doing better than Chelsea.

Quote
Let's be honest that Arsenal will always have a hard time winning the title if the player transfer policy is like that. If Arteta wants to lead Arsenal to win the Premier League, then he must demand that his management give him an adequate spending budget.

Arteta can only passuade the board, he can't do more than what is made available, if they have won this season Premier League, it would have been easier to convince the board to increase the budget but never say never, they can do wonders even if they don't have big players.
1268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: May 31, 2023, 10:09:23 PM
Quite sincerely, the game looks like what will end in a penalty shoot out, with both teams failing to score again in the first half of the extra time.

The game has entered and begun the penalty shootout to determine who the winner would be. Both teams having played full time and couldn’t produce a winner, has entered into penalties. So far, Bono has saved two penalty shot. He has been really good during the game as he had saved his side from conceding a lot of goals.
Sevilla is now leading after having saved two penalty shots.

I didn't expect Roma to be this ready for Sevilla and for them to lead them with the first goal was awesome from Roma and even when Sevilla equalized, they defended magnificently despite the extra minutes, they held Sevilla who by ball possession beat Roma, but I still think Sevilla has high chance of winning this match in the penalty round, the players are more confident than what Roma players are playing and more determistics with goals. Penalty may be scary but  I think they will finish with atleast 2 loss from Roma while Sevilla win every of their goals.

Edit: I was close to prediction and while typing, Sevilla has already won the Europa League of the season and from the start, my prediction was correct, I expect them to win, though I had Leverkusen in mind in the final instead of the Roma but all the same, congratulations to Sevilla.

Arsenal have shown signs of improvement and this squad of players aren’t that experienced to start with. Although I share the same sentiments. Whatever Arsenal are going to be doing this summer, mentality must be at the centre of it. The kind of players we bring, even the kind of drills they do. They honestly need to design a structure that reinforces that winning mentality. Arteta and Edu have done a lot in that regard since they took over but they can’t relent now. They need to intensify efforts if they’re to fight next season for a major trophy.

They have done the first step towards improvement and that was not winning the Premier League title this year. This often has a positive effect. It reminds me of Liverpool losing a Champions League final and afterwards everyone thought that the next final is going to be theirs. In the same season they lost the PL title against Manchester City and the season afterwards Liverpool even topped their performance from the season before and won the title. Losses can have amazing effects although there is never a guarantee for that.

But they eventually flopped again this season, the least people expect from them last season was fourth place in table and they had to fight for the fifth place, they struggle throught this season but last season, they were second place, they dragged place with Manchester City, it was only a point Manchester City used ton win last season and in addition to Liverpool performance, they won the FA cup last season but this season was a total flopped and that is why I am rethinking Arsenal situation. I believe in their ability to do more next season, but my fear is that if other clubs return back to form, it wouldn't be easy.

Real Madrid will not make any mistake of selling Benzema this season without good Replacement, the mistake they made by selling Ronaldo without a good replacement will be avoided, Benzema will play one more season with Real Madrid, before selling him to any club, Saudi Arabia clubs believes that they can sign in everyone they want because of the resources and the influence of Ronaldo in the League, so many stars would like to play in the league too, since the league has gotten global attention, but Benzema will not be sold to any of the club in the Saudi Arabia league this season, he is very important player in the Real Madrid squad, regardless of his age, he is still scoring and staying fit for the club.
Reports like this seems true to me. Benzema had been committed to staying at Real Madrid, but this offer has cast doubt over whether he will stay at the club for next season. He’s already 36, and he hasn’t been actively involved in the all round games til his season due to some fitness issues. I mean Benzema could really be leaving for Saudi Arabia. Should Benzema decide to move now, I’m sure Real Madrid will replace him with a prolific goalscorer. Harry Kane might join if Real Madrid decided to be serious.

Suddenly, there is high demand of players from Arab countries, seems they want the attention of the Europe or simply want to move the attention of the football back to their region where the world will be watching Ronaldo, Messi and Benzema with Arabic accross every part of the continent and also push arabian companies through ads, but I think it will lose the fun of the usual England and Spain that people prefer.

The offers this clubs are pushing to English and Spain are tempting and uncomparable but I just feel as a popular player, ones they live for those clubs, their carreer will start deteriorating, I think Benzema should think deeply before making moves for that offer.

Actually, with Chelsea's current state, they don't have to be in a rush to aim for something high, especially when it's competing for the championship. For me, with the current condition of the team, even finishing in the top 4 positions is already a big achievement for them. Don't aim too big because that might put pressure on the squad, and if they can't control that pressure then they will be far from hopeless.

Chelsea needs to think again for twice before the club wanna try to take any steps. The new manager has come but it doesn't mean if the new manager will able to change everything in the club. im not sure with the come of pochettino will able to change the club to be even better. Since the problem was not only in the owner. The main problem was also in the management of club. Todd shall have sacked anyone who have been coming from brighton.
These amateur management was just trying destroy the club. It seems like that if it will take a very long time for chelsea to recover from its bad performance. I hope that if pochettino will not as bad as lampard and potter.
Todd has been making so many bad mistakes once he was buying chelsea. I don't like the new owner. he looks so stupid in the football.

Your argument is based on emotion and not performance because Chelsea has spent alot this season and for that, they should be in better position than any other teams, but settled down for 12th place, that is too bad, Manchester United didn't do much and they are far better than what Chelsea has played this season. Pochettino has 3 years to reshape and reform the teams and I believe with available resources, he can do better for Chelsea by July in the next season, they would have aboundant time to train and also to play the English Premier League except for other England domestic leagues.

After that, you can then start with your capital and see if it will be possible to make $100 from it or not.
1273  Economy / Economics / Re: Will chatgpt really destroy the job market? on: May 29, 2023, 09:57:46 AM
Since ChatGPT was launched in November last year, this AI technology has created a huge response across the globe.  This technology has gained so much popularity that people are using this technology in almost every field. Any math can be easily solved through this technology, any unknown matter can be easily known through this technology, so there is a lot of doubt in everyone's mind about this technology that this technology will destroy the job market or not?

When asked about this, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said the technology will never destroy the job market. Rather, this technology will solve things that people never know about.  Since all tasks can be solved easily through this technology, this bot system may be used instead of humans in various work fields.
If this technology is used in the workplace, many people will lose their jobs.

When machines were initially discovered, their innovative capabilities were divided into different parts, aiding humans in making their work more efficient and faster. Surprisingly, instead of causing job losses for humans, these machines have actually made their tasks easier. Similarly, I believe that ChatGPT will bring about similar outcomes. It will assist humanity in research and development, contributing to advancements and improvements.

Moreover, bots have been in existence for several years even prior to the introduction of this technology. Bots have played huge role in aided programmers in accomplishing complex and laborious tasks that would have otherwise been challenging for them. Hence, I have doubts regarding whether this technology will pose a roadblock for the job market.
1274  Economy / Economics / Re: When will we stop living for the weekend? Escaping the 9-5 life. on: May 29, 2023, 09:18:03 AM
Are you satisfied with this way of life, or would you prefer to live a different way? What would you like to change and how? Personally, I'm clueless and not satisfied with the idea of spending the rest of my life like this.

You forgot to include the public holdays that are also been observed. I think this depends on the kind of job you do, people who lives on salary and pay checks are use to the way of the skilled labour and labour laws in many countries. However, this depend though, not everybody do job that settle for job that has to be supervised by another person and even when they do, they self employ job that they schedule their own break, they can decide to work from Monday till the weekend and continue the following week, no rest until they want to rest. There are some people that also combined both the skilled job and work for the rest of the weekend as side husle.
1275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What role have altcoins played in cryptocurrency industry on: May 29, 2023, 09:01:22 AM
For as far as I know, Bitcoin is the primary and dominant cryptocurrency, but among others, Bitcoin have its limitations that have slowed its widening adoption and scalability due to this Bitcoin's shortcomings there was a need for the creation of alternatives cryptocurrency and this need has given room for the developments of thousands of altcoins, and this altcoin are all developed to solve one issue or the other with the bitcoin network and this has also opened the room for so. Many scam projects.

So this have led me to ask this fundamental question of what role have altcoins played in the cryptocurrency industry, Has altcoin played any significant role in increasing the adoption of Bitcoin?

Have alternatives cryptocurrencies help the growth and adoption of cryptocurrency in the global market and how far have the presence of alternatives cryptocurrency help the industry positively?
Or Negatively?

If you check the price of Bitcoin, only few people have big money to invest and that is why most people divert money to altcoins, Bitcoin is already a saturated market by institutional investors. Altcoins are safe haven for people that are late for the party, this is why you see new comers catch up with the new alternative coins that has low caps to gain something later, every week we now see them flood the market and whether the bitcoin maxist like it or not, it can not be deny that altcoins attract more 80% of investors, even the institutional investors heavily put money on altcoins because their profits are always insane.

The global market effect of altcoins is liquidity, altcoins attract lots of attention and investors because when there is PR, good marketing and tech around any new altcoins, there is move of liquidity from one chain to another and also the bridge of chains has make things easier for new projects as wel.
1276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trade altcoins during the bull run or just hodl? on: May 28, 2023, 01:01:11 PM
Next year will be my first bull run and have just been thinking about what will be best to do when it finally arrives next year.

Do you plan on just holding till an amount you are happy with or is it a good idea to try and trade altcoins whilst they are pumping to earn even more?

Trading altcoins are quite profitable but they are more profitable when you hold them and let other traders do their thing, you will miss important pumps and good rides, not that you will not make gains in trading but they are not as profitable than holding.
Today while reading cointelegraph, a news of an ICO ethereum wallet address moves his ETH that was bought for $1000 now worth $4 million to an exchange, this is what holding can make you, if the owner of that wallet has been trading from that era to now, I don't think he will have such amount in his trading portfolio by now, this is why I think holding anytime, not just in bull run, all the time is more profitable for the long term.
1277  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A nob in trading needs help on: May 28, 2023, 12:38:47 PM
At this level, I am well informed about Bitcoin and its securities, I have read on the forum how Bitcoin and cryptocurrency trading has changed people's lives, and I am kind of interested in acquiring skills, I have read in many other threads on how risky Bitcoin trading is.

I hope when you say Bitcoin trading has change lives, it is in two ways; there are traders that have gained and there are others that have lost an incredible amount money while learning trading, it is very important for you to know the risk you are involve, it is not as rossy as you may read online, there more to trading that people talk about in reviews and trading tutorials you see online, I hope you make a positive impact in your own journey.

Quote
But at this point, I will really like to know whether or not Bitcoin trading is a means to gain profits during market speculations, and how possible it is to make passive income through cryptocurrency trading.

Everything lies in your pocket, the passive income you make depends on what you have to spare in each trade you open, a $1000 on a single trade of 5% is enough to make you $50 if you play your card very well because 5% is something you can make from this market easily, you can make more if the market is bullish in your favour or when you trade a coin that beomes traders favorite for pumps.
1278  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Technical indicators vs the News on: May 28, 2023, 12:22:50 PM
Analysing the trend of the crypto market can be very complicated, base on the fact that their are two major deciding factor in price analysis when trading, which are the technical indicators an news about a project.
I have not been in the crypto space for not too long but I have come to the conclusion that the news is more influential in the trend of the market than the technical indicators, guys what do you think?

To my own understanding, market is driven by sentiments and emotions, the technical indicators are tools that guide you next direction of the market and the news makes the direction faster but this depends on the type of the news that hit the public. You can have a market in a downtrend and when a bad news comes that can cause fear, people will panic and sell their bags and if it is positive, the news can invalidate your trades, that is the relationship between news and trading indicators.

If you are new to all the ways of the market, just have an assumption that the market will pump especially now that the market is in bear mode, now way a crash will come that will bring bitcoin below $15k, buy what you have in mind and hold, they will pump and when the news comes, that will be a bonus for pumping of the coins.
1279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 28, 2023, 11:54:45 AM
The match is not important for Manchester United. They are third in the points table and have managed to qualify for the Champions League. However I think Manchester United will win against Fulham today.
The main reason why I consider Manchester United as favorites in this match is because of Manchester United's past record against Fulham. I can't find any record of Manchester United losing against Fulham. Also this match is Manchester United's home match. Manchester United players will play to win the home match. My guess is Manchester United will get a narrow win in today's match.
Man united will definitely win the match because they will want to maintain their third position on the league. If united fails to win Fulham and Newcastle wins their own match,Newcastle will move to the third position, this is the more reason why united will want to win the match for record purpose. Fulham shouldn't be underestimated, they can also perform impressively in this match but I don't think that they will be able to get all three points from united because united have good player and their defence is strong. As for Newcastle, I know that they will win Chelsea, since Chelsea is in a very poor form and they are finding it difficult to win matches.

Newcastle and Manchester United has nothing to lose right now and I don't think there is any special reward that will be given any of the teams that come out third and fourth other than Champions League qualifiers which they already make likwise Fullham and Chelsea, they also remain here as qualifiers of next season Premier League, the match maybe less interested except if Chelsea decide to change their Chamelion skin of failures and beat Newcastle, who knows perhaps Lampard would be finaly happy that he won his last match on the last match of EPL to continue his career elsewere as a manager.

If you think Messi is going to Barccelona because he want to reshape their ways of playing and increase their chance then I will say that you don't understand how football work. Messi is a name and if Barcelona confirms it now that they have aggreed on Messi's terms, more than half of players who left Barcelona for PSG because of Messi influencel they will all return back to Laliga and there gate fees will going to be increase as more people will be expecting to turn up for matches just to see Messi and there is likeyhood of a new limited Jersey printing that will generate money for the club; Al-Nasir comes to my mind on how their social media followers move from thousands to millions under a week, that is the power of influence.
okay, let's say I really don't understand the concept of football by not taking things like that into account, but are you aware that apart from that impact, there are other negative impacts from Messi's arrival to Barcelona if that happens.
Hopefully you don't forget about Barcelona's current financial condition where they have to at least empty around 200 million to balance their books with the players' salaries. now they want Messi on a salary that will still be huge in this case. How many players should they be trying to get out now? don't expect that with the name Barcelona all players will be fooled by salary cuts for years.

I am very much aware of the financial level and difficulties of Barcelona but the fact still remain unexplain and transparent about why Joan Laporta wanted him return to Barcelona at all means, in every press when asked about the future of Messia and Barcelona, the responses he gives is always a certainty about Messi coming back to Laliga to come and continue his future and that is all I can say about that, perhaps they have other ways to sort that out already because seeing Ronaldo weekly paycheck, I don't think Messi at this point will want to receive a stippend from his next club, beside Al-Hilal is presented a nice offer on the table for Messi to consider.
