1261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in psychic betting? on: November 23, 2023, 05:22:21 AM
I remember the story of the Octopus predicting the winner of Fifa but I consider it a mere coincidence nothing else for the record even the Octopus got 2 predictions wrong out of 14 which says what is the reality ...

But we all have some kind of superstition thing to do when we want to do something, like wearing a lucky shirt for an interview or holding the same spot when you want your team to win, and so on.

Predictions and psychic are all what happen by chance. I also don't believe animal has the power to predict. Prediction is knowing what will happen in the future and that was why octopus failed because God wanted to expose that fact that only him knows the outcome of the future, he owns today, tomorrow and the future, no one else does.

All those psychic predictions are not steady or consistent, constant. It is more of trier based on luck. I have seen mad men or lunatic give predictions and other times it will fail. They all happen by happenstance and not predetermined. Having dreams of such is also not regular, sometimes it fails too, only God has the futuristic power.

Regarding the suggestion to send an email to users, this is clearly the most effective way to resolve this issue. However, as we mentioned in our initial statement, we do not have access to the database. We do have a limited version of the database that is shared with regulators for compliance purposes. If we had access to the actual site database, we would simply restore the site and allow users to withdraw their funds directly. Unfortunately, this is not the case, and we can only do what we can with the resources available to us.

The onions is still on the company to reach out to all those that have lost hope to recover what they had in the platform. Quite a number of complaints came in here on this platform and of course some customers are not part of this platform, that means you have to make effort to send mails to those. You have to be very loud about the refund process and not just on this platform.

You have to go public and on your website if you want to show sincerity. You have to also extend the window for withdrawal because one month is small considering the numbers of people who won't get the news from now till a month time.
1263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Two Carreer skill benefit of gambling on: November 22, 2023, 08:15:39 PM
IMHO, it's the same as the actual games that we play nowadays online.

And the same goes with socializing, you make new friends in online casinos and the same goes with online games that we play. We're increasing our network and as they say, network is net worth. LOL.

But critically thinking, how do we make friends online while gambling? Or you mean if you do chat people in the casino chat box? Well probably but I don't think I can rely on the friendship of people on the casino chat for a friendship that is meaningful and moreover you can also get scam one way or the other from their if you meet someone with bad intention. I can only associate with a physical friend offline.
1264  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Laziness and pride on: November 22, 2023, 05:19:31 PM

Most of our youth are so lazy to the extend that the houses they live in they can't clean it,  talk more of going to look for a job that will fetch them money.

Abi you work for Buhari cabinet? This one wey you just generalize youths to be lazy because if you say most that one mean say na more than half and that one mean say you don generalize. If to say you say some, well.

But basically, we know say naija youth no lazy at all. The situation of this country fit make some youth dey fall hand because dem no see something wey dem go do wey be say if dem do am dem go see money take solve problems. My brother you no go dey work then bamboo dey chop den you go still expect the person to continue. The government don turn many youths to drop out street gamblers. Gamblers dey different, so some don turn into street gamblers.

If you say our youths lazy, omo oyibo people no fit talk say naija guys lazy because na dem dey hussle pass unto say dollar dey roll for the area no be small.

However,  since this set of people have decided not to work for somebody or under person.  I think they should start learning cryptocurrency form their comfort zone at least it will save them stress but more time.

Okay for your mind na crypto na im lazy person fit do abi? Na frustration go pursue the person. You know say there is relationship between being lazy and not being able to be patient? So suggest another kind of job for those wey you think say dey lazy.
1265  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The rate of divorce in the society on: November 22, 2023, 04:55:49 PM
There are so many reasons why people get married and when they feel they have achieved their aims, they can opt to go their way.
But, I think peer pressure some times can affect some persons and the responsibilities that comes with been married can be very pressing sometimes.
If both couple can have an understanding and know that there are different phases in a marital relationship, maybe they can work hard enough to keep their commitments.

Like what op said about a man asking for divorce after two months as he saw the face of the wife without makeup, this may be one of the many reasons people go for divorce. But to look deeply, some marriages were never contracted in the beginning because they were under falsehood from either of the spouse unknowingly to the other spouse. I have heard of such an unimaginable thing as sex as a reason that a man spent his time and money to deceive a lady he has been having crush on just to sleep with her. He got that and no natter her good the lady was to the "marriage ", it was never good for the man until he left the fake "marriage ".
1266  Economy / Economics / Re: Insurance is important on: November 22, 2023, 03:19:43 PM
Insurance is good and like you said it is more valued in developed countries. This is because it is well organized and insurance companies won't have to deny an insured or whatever was insured after you have been paying your premium.

Like you said again, you mentioned politics. It is unfortunate that in most less developed countries, companies and government are not sincere to keep their own part of the bargain or contract and so that raises a lot of distrust. A reason that would have made the woman not to take the flood warning seriously. Although it is to her own detriment but to prove that your property was destroyed sometimes is like the cow passing through the eye of a niddle even in the midst of glaring and public evidences. Moreover, restitution and compensation takes ages. These and more would make an average person living in a corrupt country to rather put their fate to what they can do by themselves, more like every man to himself and God for us all.
1267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Crowdfund for a Gambler Who Has Gambled Irresponsibly? on: November 22, 2023, 02:26:01 PM
Well my take on this is that he should try again next time but to play reasonably. He should not expect crowdfunding when he has behaved irresponsibly. However, I believe addicts can sympathize with him because they understand it and perhaps have been in same shoes before. I don't think I would encourage him to bet with money he can't afford to forego by helping in crowdfunding because that is what it seem like.

Gambling is not a guarantee for profit, so we should play responsibly and bear our consequences because profit never gets to another man's pocket.
1268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this a good advice? on: November 22, 2023, 01:22:50 PM
Being an active player does not mean you will have the best of gambling experience for winning and it's increased chances always, base on experience from other concerned gamblers, they can tell that the more you're trying all yours best to avoid loosing by being active in gambling regularly the more you're liable to keep having same losses on a repeated occassions if care is not taken, gambling is not that predictable.

It is understandably so that the more you play in gambling the more you may lose but at same time there are days that are profiting days at least I have witnessed it from other gamblers offline you attested to a winning streak after which they run off with some profit after the losses started coming. I believe not every day is a bad day but those few times that are good days they are the lucky times we can get some profit and we need to have control incase of running off when the losses start to build up.
Are you now preaching greed in gambling? See, gambling should be well planned, it's not something that should be played without control, or else, the person would blame himself. What you just narrated has put me into trouble many times in trading and it's a very good reason why I kept my cool against such in gambling, and this has been working well for me not to overplay but rather preserve my account. The mindset of the so-called good day is the reason why some people continue to play and play until they lose their fortunes on that same day. It might be good at first but if you do not exercise caution and self-control, it might be bitter before you end the betting for the day. It doesn't matter if a day is either good or bad, it's better for gamblers to have plans and know their budgetary limits in order to be able to exercise control in any gambling situation.

@EarnOnVictor don't you think we are saying the same thing when you are still talking about still talking about control, caution or budgeting. I mean there are different gamblers, some are addicts who don't read any meaning to their day or to the games that they are playing while a normal player or random player has absolute control to his games and budget. That is the point, there is a sense in having great control of oneself and that is what matters to know when to continue and when to stop. I don't see any thing wrong by playing more without increasing your stake if you have won the previous bet, since you have the control to stop.
1269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The love in football on: November 22, 2023, 11:28:18 AM
Because why not? Im curious before too but after I watched one game with a friend, it turns out that I really find more enjoyable that basketball. There's something captivating about the gameplay, whether it's the strategy or the overall atmosphere. It's interesting how a single experience can shift your perspective and now I genuinely appreciate football more than I did before. Maybe it really contributes when you share your likes with someone too

No doubt that some people don't like football but for those who are die hard fans of football, they would wonder why someone won't like football. So finally you have seen the different thrills in football and decided to come into the fold. Football has won many people over than they have stopped liking it, I mean you can't just but like the biggest, most watched and biggest sports game in the world. 1270  Economy / Economics / Re: No Correlation Between Academic Success and Financial Success on: November 22, 2023, 11:14:19 AM
Your post buttress the point when they say going to school is scam or a waste of time. Well in as much as I ascribe to that but not in totality to say that being an A student or having high IQ doesn't matter because it does matter at least to have high IQ. Those who have high IQ despite not going to formal education but are more sharpened by the native intelligence they have and that is even why they would venture undoubtfully into grounds that are still untapped and infertile but yet making out a niche from it. If you don't have IQ then you won't be able to succeed in the first place.

Also, for those who didn't go to formal educational institutions before becoming rich and wealthy have also found the necessity to be educationally intune with the current happenings and in old age, they have equipped theirselves with enough educational qualifications too. So a C student who wasn't able to get to A student academically, it doesn't mean they are bereaved of intelligence quotient and that is also why anyone that applies either educational prowess or IQ has chances of financial success and if combined, the sky is your limit.

In reality, the time has come for more people with IQ to uplift their financial status with the bitcoin halving bull around the corner.
1271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone been able to make steady income with gambling ? on: November 22, 2023, 10:23:41 AM
you should play games with less on stake and keep the winnings invested in some good option like crypto. It is important to have self control to end profitably with gambling ventures online. Do you agree with this ?

I know of gamblers whose aim is to build capital from winning their bet and use it to invest in some businesses and probably buy some coins but unfortunately they have not been able to get this done. There is no guarantee to use gambling as a means of survival or to raise capital for investment. Unfortunately enough those who even got the winning and controlled themselves not to lavish the money but using it to open up some road side business have eventually collapsed because they also went back to gambling and finally using business money for gambling. In gambling you have to be serious with not tempering with money not meant for gambling and to make a gambling budget otherwise you would realize you have been ruined.

1273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Two Carreer skill benefit of gambling on: November 22, 2023, 09:18:11 AM
Well I agree for critical thinking because you have to analyse the game or your next step especially for card games but for socialization except for board games, I don't see it having effect on majority of gambling games. In football for instance, it goes beyond socialization but whole unit of oneness because if the coach realize you are intentionally not releasing the ball to a certain player or players for your personal selfish reasons then you will be off the pitch and another player would replace you.

Therefore, I believe critical thinking is important, in some certain games you have to think fast like the speed of light like in football, to make quick, accurate and appreciated decision to the cheering of the spectators.
1274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You At Any Point In Time Blame Who Taught Or Led You To Gambling? on: November 21, 2023, 09:24:36 PM

How about have you at any time blamed the one that led you to gambling in your mind, or even told him face to face?

No body likes losing and it is natural to feel bad when you lose especially if you have staked a big amount but on my own case I didn't have anybody introduce me to gambling. I learnt by myself so I don't blame anybody in terms of loses. I don't even blame myself  because I know it is a game of chance and either you win or you lose the bet. So no worries from me if I lose.
1275  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The love in football on: November 21, 2023, 08:15:15 PM
I believe Op is talking about football. It is a simple topic though but it is quite instructive, so I checked for more information than what I can ordinarily think of. So there are quite some points here .
https://www.besoccer.com/new/amp/football-popularity-why-is-football-crucial-today-1270235

IMO football has lifted so many families out of poverty and including countries. For example hosting football tournament boost some country's economy because of the monies that will be generated from different sources to the economy and to individuals. It creates jobs.

Winning the world cup is such a big financial reward. Countries like Brazil that has won the FIFA world cup 5 times have had such inflow generated to their economy.

Regards to bringing individuals out of poverty, I believe football has direct positive impact to families who have produced players playing the round leather game. And in fact this is a great love showers to football and families who don't have children playing the game have also tried to have a member of their family playing the game because of the love and money that is generated from it.

It has such a great value because amongst other reasons, it is accessible to all.
1276  Economy / Speculation / Re: The volatility volumes of Bitcoin is not the Will of man on: November 21, 2023, 06:17:54 PM
At the long run I later got your point in the post. Yes if man would decide what happens to the price of bitcoin directly then hodlers would always have the price high so that they will always be in profit but it is not happening that way.

First, the rule of demand and supply applies to bitcoin and that is why there is buy and sell, bull and bear. Also, the halving makes bitcoin very much attractive and creates more traffic to the bitcoin Blockchain and that creates the volume and volatility. One single man does not determine what happens in the price of bitcoin except in exceptional cases of manipulation and it never last forever.
1277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to identify shitcoins? on: November 21, 2023, 04:46:39 PM

Most of the altcoins failed because of improper planning of the founders. I don't normally like altcoins but planning to invest on two which I know that is good to invest.

I hope you will be careful with this altcoin investment and choose the right coins because most will not rise to a profitable level. They are just moving slowly unlike bitcoin whose price change is obvious. However, while investing you need more of top altcoins like Ethereum or BnB. Then if you want cheaper altcoins you can pick altcoins listed in binance because of volume.
1278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When does the moment come when the gambler loses control? on: November 21, 2023, 03:45:23 PM

If you enter gambling out of desperation, it’s the same as simply throwing money into a burning fire. I will never go for such players. As for me, I bet on football matches to get a little fun and excitement in the game. It even brings a little joy, but not despair.

As well, gamblers who allow desperation to have a better part of them are those who gamble more than they can afford and so they try to chase back those loses. Gambling is not a source of income or living but a trier to multiply our bankroll so we can't afford to do gambling like all our lives depends on the winning for survival. Do a budget of the bankroll and when you exhaust it without winning then rest and play next time, this is the reasonable practice to gambling and that will not cause any gambler to be desparate but more people will get to that level if they keep depending on gambling to survive in this harsh economy.
1279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When does the moment come when the gambler loses control? on: November 21, 2023, 02:27:38 PM
Many gamblers have many trigger point to be honest. But commonly it’s often seen that, after losing a large portion of the bankroll, the gamblers, losses control and go all in with the remaining balance to cover the losses. But at this point of time, they should have slowed a bit and could have analysed to bet further. But this is the time, it is often seen that you bet blindly without thinking the outcome. It’s very hard to control ourselves, when the hard earned money vanishes in seconds.

That is exactly what happens when losses have caused frustration. Most times gambling losses for someone who is an addict and doesn't control himself throws in all, that is desperation to get what has been lost.

Desperation is not a good element for gambling, someone that is showing such sign will keep losing because he has lost control for proper analysis and to continue or to stop at the main time.
1280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question for those who loose too frequently in gambling on: November 21, 2023, 01:16:36 PM

I do usually lost in gambling while my friends continually hit big I guess they are among the reason I still continue gambling but my current resolve is small stakes big odds. I don't really care how many times I lose but the day I finally hit it I'm gonna get it big. I don't see this unhealthy to me since I'm not addicted to gambling

You have two addictions here already. You are chasing your loses indirectly because since your friends are winning and you are not, that should have been enough reason for you to conclude gambling is not working for you or probably you know but you are waiting for when you will hit it big which is another part of addiction. Many gamblers are in these two traps, they want to recover their loses by hitting it big and stop but the more you wait to accomplish this desire the more you are losing to the house edge but I hope it will work for you, all the best on that.
