1281  Economy / Economics / Re: ECONOMIC ANALYSIS/RESEARCH POLL: Cryptocurrency replacing fiat in the future? on: November 04, 2018, 01:00:09 PM
I voted for "Governments will only use blockchain technology to support certain processes within their current system" but survey is lacking option of selecting multiple option.  Let my analyze every option and put my thinking.

Yes, cryptocurrencies will replace fiat   -  No, Very difficult for any government to give their centralized system (in which they have 100% control ) to
decentralized one. It can gain popularity where the original currency of countries got devalued and instead embracing other country currencies, they can embrace bitcoin.
No, impossible, economics only work with monetary policies :  I consider bitcoin as money only so  creating policy  will not be difficult but who will be creating policies?
Both will work in parallel   : Both are still working in parallel and will continue in future too.
Governments will distribute their own decentralized blockchain currency:   I do not think government will like the idea of decentralization when it come to  currency.
Governments will distribute their own centralized blockchain currency along with monetary policies: Not sure, if they leave their own established current system and start a new  system for same purpose.
Governments will only use blockchain technology to support certain processes within their current system: It is happening and I believe  it will be
 continued.
1282  Other / Meta / Re: Merits for posters not making redundant quotes. on: November 04, 2018, 12:11:18 PM
Those are quoting the full OP, most of them are lazy (give benefit of doubt to few as ignorant)
For replying the post , they are supposed to read every post (or at least traverse through all the post ).
Might be qouting OP make them feels that they are relevant or on the topic .
I generally quote OP when in thread discussion start about 2-3  streams simultaneously with very little relevance to actual OP posted.

I just noticed that you do not need to vote to see poll results.
A option of "View results" will show you results, even you did not vote in poll.
1285  Other / Meta / Re: MERIT SOURCE AND MODS NEEDED FOR INDIAN BOARD on: November 04, 2018, 03:37:10 AM
Actually it is stupid to deny such a large population a Moderator and Merit Source.
If Benson Samuels cannot be reinstated , then Indian community should get new moderator and a merit source too.
1286  Other / Meta / Re: How recognized are you in the bitcointalk world? on: November 04, 2018, 03:18:24 AM
The list is heavily weighted to make merit much more valuable than it is and not give credit to contributions made prior to the merit system's introduction.

Might be you are right, because few days back I have same activity and same trust and I am not in the list. I guess I got some 20 merits and I make it to this list. so this list is considering merit seriously.

The reason this matters is that users who were instrumental to Bitcoin like early developers and people who have been shunned from the community as it evolved are penalized by the way Recognition Rank is scored.  Vod's argument is that newer users here don't recognize the early names.  I don't believe this to be true. Roger Ver has a Recognition Rank of >1000 & Gavin Andresen has a Recognition Rank of 865, while abhiseshakana has a Recognition Rank of 333.  Which names do you recognize?  What would the ranks be if the original merit were included in the algorithm?

Contribution to forum activities is not equivalent to the contribution the bitcoin development. So new user that you see highly ranked just mean they are contributing in forum well being or making other people aware of bitcoin or putting some good discussion or helping to catch the scammers and shitposters.

So whatever the rank Vod's site shows, it is just  parameter of taking part in forum discussions and recognized in this forum.(Nothing to do with your recognition in BTC world).

PS: I do know about Gavin and Roger Ver .
1287  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: The Bitcoin capitalisation calculation on: November 03, 2018, 09:58:42 PM
I tried to find out about that calculation, look like with time my memory got some corruption. But anyway I am trying to refer these posts.

The rule states that it can't be MORE than the current block subsidy, but it can certainly be less.
For example this Coinbase transaction has an output of 0, while this one is 0.01BTC less than the block reward
In cases like this the bitcoins are lost forever.

And with "destroyed" coins, they don't even exist on the blockchain any longer.

I think you should read both the topics, might you find something interesting.
1288  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: November 03, 2018, 09:30:21 PM
Really, i don' t want merit, i want bitcoins... Smiley

Whatever you need, either merit or bitcoin, you need to work for them.  Smiley Smiley
1289  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: The Bitcoin capitalisation calculation on: November 03, 2018, 04:42:17 PM
I do not agree  that calculation should be done on 21 Million. Actually  you are contradicting your own below statement
" I believe that the calculation should be based on the total in existence, ie 21 million."

21 Million is not the current existence  and 21 million is just a theoretical ideal figure that will never be achieved in real life. ( that calculations are already explained by gmaxwell ).

So it is ok to take market capitalization as "Bitcoin currently exist" * Price of 1 bitcoin.

1290  Other / Serious discussion / Re: We are from all around the world on: November 03, 2018, 02:32:02 PM
It's a race where each person is born in a different starting point.

Ex: I'm a medium class guy that had the opportunity to study in a particular school in Brazil and learn english at young age (thanks to movies and videogames)
do you understand how easier life will be for me than for a poor person who was born in a favela and studied on a public school in Brazil

If you keep crying about different starting point then you will never able to see positive side. One who got education in good school will complain why his/her family not wealthy, then he got different opportunities.

English open the global market but it does not mean if you do not know English skills that you cannot have any opportunities.
Technical skills are not dependent on your grasp of your English language.

Equal opportunity means equal chance  for everybody , having same skills, irrespective of caste, creed and religion and sex and  I say this forum and crypto space is "Equal opportunity" for everybody.
1291  Other / Meta / Re: Finally a turtle crossed the finish line on: November 02, 2018, 02:36:51 AM

(Patience is the main advantage of a turtle).
Example:
= There is a story of a turtle walking slowly in winter snow. The monkey comes over and asks where the turtles are. He replied that I (turtle) want to swim on the edge of the lake.
The monkey laughed at him because the lake was currently completely frozen and the tortoise could not swim, the Turtle replied again, "By the time I got there, the lake had melted.

▶ ️ (Look, listen and feel the process).
= With its slow movement, the tortoise sees many things on its way to achieving its goal.

(️Find your own personal speed and don't become inferior to something that doesn't work).
= The tortoise realizes that he has his own speed.

I see you used turtle and tortoise interchangeably but both are not same .

Quote
Generally, turtles move faster than tortoises, even on land.
In conclusion, although the turtle is generally a slow moving reptile, it is a misconception that it is the slowest reptile in existence.

Yes, I researched a little bit about speed before using this heading.
1292  Economy / Reputation / Re: Double posts - multiple accounts on: October 31, 2018, 10:44:01 PM
Aren't there people who like to analyze merit data? Why wouldn't they want to play with some post history between two users instead?
I don't really enjoy that shit, and if someone here tags two legendaries for a bunch of double posting, that has to warrant as least a temp ban.

It means you are making hue and cry for nothing. You have 2 suspects and you want someone else to do the research on them.
You did not able to provide a motive why these both user are posting like this. Actually 2 legendary account , not enrolled in any signature campaign, so what can be motive?

I think before investigating  any suspects with no evidences, you need to establish a motive.

Edit: I think , you find TECSHARE as a troll, you can simply ignore user.
1293  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain and Cryptocurrency! Analysis of scam projects! on: October 28, 2018, 08:02:16 PM
I'm a fan of blockchain and cryptocurrency! I was almost a year old bitcointalk! My account from Jr. into the newbie. I can not post pictures of scams. Can anybody help me post pictures?

OP changed the heading and content to disguise for his earlier Merit begging attempt and now posting 5 post in a row without any regards to rule.

OP is no doubt spammer and trusting OP might left you with the feeling of scam.

Anyways, Reported this thread for lock.
1294  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is this not merit abuse really ? on: October 28, 2018, 01:55:33 PM
@All.

This thread has lost track now. Actually "OP" is created for "dice-bet" abusing merit or probably bought and sold them. Instead of focusing on it, we are distracted to "QA" or in short towards "Merit Source".

Will not like to comment "QA" 30 merits giveaway but somebody dragging "bones261" for just giving 1 merit is unfair.
1. Merit sources are human they can do error to.
2. One Merit is the least amount they can give. If they like some thing, I guess they(or any forum member) can give 1 Merit without any need to defend himself/herself.

Actual problem I see the "Air dropped" smerits, that did not expired. After more than 9 months of the system, some user still have them and they are occasionally using them to promote newbie to Jr. member (might be there own alt accounts) or might be selling also as in suspected in case of Dice-bet.

omg .These numbers are scary. What are the reasons for this much bans? Forum is allowing for doing bounties, puting signatures, creating weekly bounty reports etc.So how cansome one got permanently ban?

Because majority did not read the rules Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ.

Plagiarism (Copy/Paste) is leading reason of user getting banned.
Community frown on seeing bounty reports but you did not get banned if you don't break rules.
1297  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: For writing a good article, some of my suggestions. on: October 27, 2018, 02:12:07 AM

1. Try to write what you know, don’t make incorrect opinions about issues that you know little about.
2. The content of your article should be concise and focused. Don't force unnecessary nonsense to make the article look longer.
+1

I don't agree with the idea that : we should write about what we know clearly,  iI think that IF we are not sure about something we can write on this forum to get more discussion

So, you do not believe in sharing the knowledge? You can definitely share something if you find something new, interesting and useful for forum members, even though  nobody asked you.
1298  Other / Meta / Re: Finally a turtle crossed the finish line on: October 26, 2018, 10:55:56 PM
+1 for you, to keep you motivated. I remember that I read in your post that you are a student. I think this is your most crucial phase of your life.
Try to gather as much knowledge and soft skills because once you step out of the college, might you will not get that much time.

I think the merit system is too harsh on good quality posters.

I checked stats in Vod Site's , so currently 380  users earned 100 or more merits. This includes the like of satoshi, laszlo (pizza guy),gamekyuubi (Hodl guy) ,Theymos, Loyce V et al. So actual number of user who registered in December 2017 and gained 100+ might be much less than 380.
At one time, I like to suggest to reduce the earned Merit requirement so that more user can progess. I will never favor relaxation in giving merit because we have a army of shitposters that want to be get merited in their bounty reports and this army will always complain.
In reality, this "harshness" of merit helped many to comprehend better and post better.

I'll keep you on my radar, and I'm sure I'll be coming across your posts since a lot of them are in Meta.
Thanks. Actually your merits helped me to complete one personal milestone i.e getting merits from 50 different users in this forum.

I am writing this post to express my feelings on my recent rank change. Strangely this rank change actually did not bring any excitement to me.
Anyways this took too long to reach here and even I am never sure that I will be able to reach here.

This ranking give me access to the "Ivory Tower" and allow me to use avatar in my profile and I guess now I have same rights in the forum that a Legendary user have .(leaving  about the difference in signature specifications. )

My goals in the forum still remain the same i.e reading ,learning ,posting and enjoying my overall stay.In this process few users got reported by me and few got permabanned for plagiarism though I am not specifically hunting for them.

I find this forum a gem (not only for crypto currency but overall) because here open discussion take place , everybody put their opinion and everybody got the own right of "Agree to Disagree". Though somebody argue about the spam problem here then I will say that after spending few weeks in this forum you automatically develop the understanding what  to read and what to filter out. Truly global in nature , you can find two extremes in post and sometimes make you wonder that is it really the same forum that is started to discuss about Bitcoins?

It will be unfair if I do not mention BTCforJoe who did the honest post reviews of the participants in his "Joe Signatureless Challenge". Jet Cash for dropping the cues to get merits. TMAN for sarcastic comment , though I never get any from him but life is too short to learn everything from our own experiences.

I will also like to say "thank you" to countless forum volunteers that are posting the content that really enlighten me and working in field of catching spammer, scammer  and plagiarist to make my stay pleasant here.

Hope, you all enjoyed the story of my journey in this forum.

Thanks for sharing the links.
Concept is old but does not look popular. I assume it do not have practical usefulness after ETH come into picture with capability of creating tokens.
