Most likely not in a positive way. It reminds me of how people talk about market manipulation when the price is tanking, but completely ignore manipulation when the price is nicely going up. I know from experience that some of my coworkers were skeptical about Bitcoin at first, then made some profits in 2017 because it was very difficult to lose, then turned in skeptics again after their paper losses increased significantly. People find everything ok as long as they are on the winning hand, but as soon as they notice that losses are looming, they change and start blaming all types of external elements instead of their own ignorance. Any Tom,dick and Harry can make profit in rising market. I guess rising market rise more because all think it will continue to rise. Panic starts when prices start to fail and people start losing their rational. Then brilliant opportunity also do not look good to them. I am happy that OP introduced his nephew to bitcoin but if OP nephew is happy because BTC gained price then I doubt that his nephew future outlook might again change to earlier one. |

I guess it is free and easy money where you are paid to learn ( learning is for your own benefit) but most people forget the part of learning.
OP question is very generic and first you need to focus your target area like trading,writing or PR and you can use your skills for earning.

The truth be said about threads and replies which deserved attention from merit sources aren't deserving as it alt to be, which is the basic concern of many applicants for merit source. My concern is that, Admin has not yet given any answer to older application on the forum of which some are 3-5Months old. Although with your activeness on the forum, this may prompt the Admin to accept your application in a short distance time.

I stand to be corrected there are over 100 merit sources in the forum and has been very diligent in the approach of there duties.
No back to my topic merit source application. I have noticed when ever a member has attained a senior member rank there are a possibilities he/she might go ahead and apply for merit sources regardless if the forum needs any more merit sources at the moment.
Could this be right?
But don't you think that after earning 250 + merits, member understand the spirit and purpose of merit better. If you check the stats then you will find that there are few in this forum that are able to climb from 0/10 to 250. Don't you think that they inspire you to climb the ladder when you are joining as newbie. Most merit source application then to get merited. Could this be a scheme to get merit? I know some of the merit sources where directly contacted by the forum about being a source.
If the forum when ever a space is available for merit sources contact user they feel is right and if they are interested put up there application for consideration.
It's appreciated if one wants to selflessly work for the forum.
There is no boundation that you need to merit that merit source application. In fact, I supported many applications without meriting the OP. Application is needed to show your interest and if user do not put application ,then how the Theymos will know the member's interest. By judging the content of application , you can know a lot about that interested member. PS : I also ranked to Sr. Member by earning 250 merits and did not put any application but I think it is personal choice. |

Apart from recognized as mode of payment, we are not very far away from rewards halving. All this factor can move price upwards and I guess one more spike can happen this winter.
For your price question at 2017, lot of people got interested in BTC suddenly and purchased it.

They will add new countries based on number of users in each country, so small countries do not have great chances to get on this list. I hope Gab projects will not follow the same path, project only for selected countries it's not something I personally support.
I guess it not about adding specific country but it all dependent on how much advertisement/publisher that they are getting from that region. It does not make any sense to show ads targeted for region X to be shown on region Y. (if lot of global business join them, then might everyone will get chance. |

Since your post mention whitehat so I am thinking whether you are aware of forum that goes by BHW (in short). I have no idea about how BHW forum works but I guess might you get more helpful replies there.

I guess I also used to think on same lines but now I think asking for more rules for user to follow before giving merit will make giving merit a some kind of workload. If there is scarcity of merit/smerits (more good post but less merits) then current merit source can just request theymos for more. |

Whenever I see a new signature I just click on them. I do rarely visit the Altcoin Announcement board so it just give a little exposure to the altcoins.
Forum give the features to do disable the other user's signatures , I guess whenever I will use that option I will remove mine first. (It look unethical to me that I will display mine and will opt out for seeing others signatures.)

But moderator found old undeleted posts with viruses links and made a ban request again. I think it was a moderator mistake.
Definitely, Guy who is banned for posting malware should be thoroughly checked and all the malware posts need to be removed. We have dealt with this situation. I've made a request to unban accounts spider703 and Mr.Spider703. And I have nothing to apologize for. I'm doing my job. It is you who should monitor the status of your account, not the forum staff.
I hope that, now spiderXX posting history is now free from malware links. I guess malware in post of spider can impact other users also therefore spider should asked to confirm that now he know his post history and it is free from virus or mods need to look into it. |

Anybody has any idea about the amount of transactions happens on that board? I always read the stories about someone got scammed there by "Autosell" link in the "Locked" thread.
Removing of the self -moderated thread should be done.
I am not against the thread locking but locked thread cannot be bumped for at least 2 days after unlocking.
Sellers should be encouraged to create a single thread for all related articles, I am currently seeing multiple threads by same seller for all closely related services.

If this is really his alt account, it would be more profitable for him to offer advice on how to raise the Bitcointalk account. Maybe Bitcointalk's first coach. Offering online consultancy, e-books, etc. Either that or move on and forget about the forum.  Offering coaching /writing in bitcoin will be much more profitable and give a good repo instead of coaching shitposter for ranking up here .(forget about neg you can get for this unethical service)
I'd like to be wrong though. If a dramatic exit was what he needed to change his ways - more power to him.
I do not think guy like mday can leave so easily. Even if Retina is an alt account, it still need some time to rank up. I guess some account is already build up by mday (atleast to full member rank.) before announcing the departure. |

Don't you think that we should have some common, national goals as well?
You remind me of one of the scripture saying and gist of message is as follows. Q: What work should I do? A: Before doing any work, you should ask yourself whether your work will help the society? If answer is "Yes" then you should do that work if answer is no, then you should check whether it hill help your family?If answer is "Yes" then you should do that work if answer is no, them see if it benefits you? Any work that is negatively impacting the society and family should not be undertaken at all. (I do not know exact words, but the idea is from book Bhagwad gita.) |
