1281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: September 02, 2023, 09:39:05 PM
~

You're right, but Ferrari's strategy has been very weak for years, either the wrong strategy or a strategy change too late. And as you say, you can't always blame the drivers. RedBull has invested years of training in the pit stops, Mercedes is also very constant with the pit stops, a mistake like in the last race, when Mercedes changed to the intermediates too late can happen, but with Ferrari this has been the negative standard for years.

It's as if they are not learning from their past mistakes. Sometimes a pit too early, oftentimes a pit too late and a change in strategy, too. They had a decently built car with decently capable crew, plus their drivers are also top tier when it comes to F1. Even if they have the fastest car of the season, they still fail to consistently win and post positive results.
1282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: September 02, 2023, 08:47:45 PM
Let's keep this as simple as possible and let's not shitpost!

I see thousands of posts about football, a few hundred about other sports, and the rest are just almost non-existent. I'm a gambler myself but I stopped a while ago betting on soccer, all the Nxx in American sports and I'm just betting now and then on horse racing, from one penny at a time to some larger sums in case of a grade 1 event or festival.
But here it seems like there is little interest in this, is that because horse racing is just unpopular or is it because, well,.... the casinos that sponsor most signatures here are not promoting it? So no post quota to make?  Grin My old local gambling forum that covered this is also near death, I'm sitting in the sun 8 hours a day boring myself to death, so here comes feedback next part :

- Do you honestly think running a prediction game (run with my own funds) would attract genuine interest in this and not just shitposting quota?

If it's free to enter, yes, perhaps it will attract lots of attention. People can just throw random shit anywhere and hope for the best, so they can also do this on a tournament/prediction game that you will hold with your own funds.

- Would let's say 1-2 mbtc (per event, about one or two per month) be enough for people here to at least open a few links and take a look at what hoses are running and what their timeform is?

Another yes. Clicking a few links and reading a few lines of text about the game will be enough of an incentive for those who are looking to get the prize money. It may not be a 100% certainty that people will be winning though, but taking chances is what gamblers do anyway. Plus, the requirements are pretty easy.

- Is anyone here actually gambling on horse racing?

I used to bet on OTB horse racing locally, though my interest on it subsided as years go by. I shifted to eSports and more popular sports because I can't seem to find a platform that offers these lines and then some for me to continue following it. Perhaps there are some platforms now but nah, my interest on it already died years ago.
1283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: September 02, 2023, 07:31:58 PM
Im going to be reckless with this and take Astralis -1.5. Well it seems that this really screams over 2.5 maps but I personally think that this is either Furia or Astralis that is going to win exactly 2-0 for this so I took my chances with this

This is already a win. The second map was extremely close, though FURIA just can't seem to seal the deal immediately, prompting Astralis to chase them up to 13 rounds and then take off from there. That last round before Astralis closed the game is partly Fallen's fault. He seemed to ego peek every now and then, and I thought it would have been better if he just held that angle even though he knows where the enemy is.

Oh well, congrats to your win. That's a pretty good win!
1284  Economy / Economics / Re: Stable coin or having USD in bank on: September 02, 2023, 06:45:44 PM
I haven't done much research regarding this matter, hence my answer will probably be limited to what I already know or what I have just gotten from other posts here. Between stable coin and having USD in a bank, I'd say I'll go for USD. Despite possible problems regarding bank transactions and some going bankrupt, the USD has a history and has been established long enough that it gives me confidence that it will not just randomly disappear, not to mention the current crisis stable coins are facing, there is also the fear of companies holding them to just freeze your account. Hence, until I make my further research and expand my knowledge regarding stablecoins, I'd go for USD.
1285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hope is all I have left on: September 02, 2023, 06:17:09 PM
Though I understand the frustration of wanting to invest but having little to no money to do so, I suggest you look at things in a different light. Instead of wishing for such a thing that is close to impossible to happen, think and try to find a way to get more income. You may not see it as a solution but even small part-time jobs or side hustles can provide extra money that may help you in investing. Sometimes, when we feel like what we can do is nothing but hope, we are actually just failing to see other opportunities we never considered.
1286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: presuring someone into Bitcoin investment on: September 02, 2023, 05:27:48 PM
Well obviously, if you pressure someone to invest on something saying bunch of things, they would doubt about it. Cause that's what networking and investment scheme usually do. They would keep on persuading people to invest on something. So I understand why your mother was in doubt at first when you told her to invest. But rather than forcing or persuading others to get into Bitcoin cause you believe in Bitcoin, it's better to introduce it to them first without telling them to try it. Simply, introduce it to them. When they get curious or interested, they will most likely to study and research about it on their own.

People around me whom I helped introducing Bitcoin, I never really persuaded them to invest in it. They just know I'm into Bitcoin or crypto in general, and they are the one who'll come to me asking for help how to invest and such.

I see your point here. More often than not, people get scammed by those who are being too persuasive and putting pressure on others to hear them out and join. Instead, it is better to just put it out there that you are into Bitcoin and crypto, and allow them to be the ones to find curiosity in it. Let them learn on their own and just be available when they have questions and inquiries, that way you wouldn't feel so responsible and pressured for their decisions in investing.
1287  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Panu labanan ang sweeper bots on: September 02, 2023, 03:35:29 PM
Worth it kaya?

1289  Economy / Economics / Re: Crisis like 1930 it's impossible now we are use to with good life on: September 02, 2023, 02:33:29 PM
I fail to see the relevance of your post. Perhaps, this is just a post to toot your own horn or is this really how you see things right now? Moreover, based on your replies to other community members that have posted here, you are stating that you are from the West and this is just normal to you. Alright, I'll humor you. First off, if you are truly living a luxurious lifestyle then may I recommend getting a formal education or tutor in English? Despite having those luxury things you claimed to be enjoying, it seems like a basic need in education regarding proper communication is lacking on your part. As far as I know, most people who are actually living such a lifestyle can at least communicate better, and know the proper spelling of 'coffee', especially after claiming that it is a part of your daily routine.

See, I'm usually not one to spend much time in terms of things like this as I know not everyone has access and is capable of learning English as their second language, but seeing as you are bragging about your luxurious life, I at least expected you to be well versed in English or at least be decent with it. I fail to see the privileged life you are claiming to have when it seems as if proper communication and humbleness do not exist in your world.

Here's the reality, OP. Not everyone lives a luxurious life, not even half of the people living in the West. Human beings are born with the nature to survive, hence even if such a crisis happens, we will find a way to cope and exist. Moreover, the economy will not adjust to your lifestyle. You are the main character wherein the world will adjust to your needs. If a crisis happens, you, just like everyone else, will feel it and adjust to it.

Now, as advice, I suggest you use the money are bragging about to access to tutor or module that can help you with your English. If you were only here to brag I suggest doing your post locally and in your native language.
1290  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you risking investment in other things? on: September 02, 2023, 09:53:51 AM
It is true that a lot of us are already planning as to how much we want to have by the time the bull run begins. However, in regards to investing in other things, it is not surprising that a lot of us have other investments outside of Bitcoin, and some even put more attention, effort, and money into those investments. Aside from the obvious fact that it is always better to have more than one source of income, it is also the factor that Bitcoin investment is unpredictable and cannot be fully relied on for our daily necessities in terms of finance. Such a reason is the main concern many have that drives them to invest in other things such as gold and real estate. To put it simply, the security of having various sources of income plays the biggest role in why we invest outside of Bitcoin, and I don't see anything bad regarding this as long as proper financial planning is included.

Personally, I am interested in investing in real estate and starting a business as I continue with Bitcoin investment. Real estate is doing relatively well here in my country and having a business on the side is never a bad thing as long as I budget things perfectly.
1291  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe Will be first to use Stablecoins and btc crypto on: September 02, 2023, 09:20:37 AM
I'm not sure where you got this theory or information from or this is just a random claim you have but I strongly disagree with you. First, you have a baseless claim and seem to only post according to your personal perception and feelings regarding the Euro. Second, please do not expect a fruitful smart discussion by posting something like this without being backed up or citing credible sources as most of us will only find your post ridiculous, if this is an opinion on your end then it would have been better to revise your words and use proper terms to deliver your message or opinion more accurately as opposed to what your post is doing now, as if you are claiming that what you have stated is true and credible.

In fact, to backed my own answer as to why I disagree with your baseless claim, that Euro is doing just fine here is an article by the European Central Bank: https://www.ecb.europa.eu/pub/ire/html/ecb.ire202306~d334007ede.en.html

In this article it was stated that despite the effects of the war between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the effects of inflation, the Euro remains the second most important currency in the international monetary system. Moreover, according to the same article the share of Euro in global official holdings of foreign exchange reserves increased from 0.5% to 20.5%.

For more understanding and actually knowing the current state of Euro, I suggest you visit the link.
1292  Economy / Economics / Re: I wonder if food prices in your country have also increased? on: September 02, 2023, 08:48:14 AM

But I was wondering if this only happened in my country or in your country too?

I think that such a bad situation is only in your country. At least I have not heard that even in the southern part of the country where I live there was a drought and the harvest suffered, although I live in a fairly agrarian country with a pronounced agricultural sector.
Is there noopportunoty to do an irrigation in your region? Irrigation is the supply of water to fields that lack moisture, and an increase in its reserves in the root layer of the soil in order to increase soil fertility.
Maybe such work could help to avoid such crises in the future.

First of all, let us try not to generalize our answer, let us only answer what we know and say that it is only in OP's country as many have already commented that they are experiencing the same thing. Instead, it would have been better if you answered that in your case it is not the same, because let's be real here, that is the only answer you are 100% sure about. Second, irrigation is not as easy as it sounds. As much help and pros that irrigation has, there are a lot of cons that need to be considered. For example, the cost of irrigation technology is often above what small-scale farmers can afford. Relying on government funds is also difficult as subsidies are often used for larger-scale public schemes, and commercial banks are mostly hesitant to lend money to smallholders as it is risky. Another point is that irrigation is difficult for countries and areas with a lack of water resources, it should be noted that there are various sectors in a country that requires the use of water and hence it is expected that competition in water accessibility will be at play. Lastly, if an irrigation system is applied, it should be managed, maintained, and designed, or else it will cause problems in financial resources, natural resources, and environmental problems.
1293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rant: Casinos should hire people who knows about what they do on: September 01, 2023, 11:52:49 PM
There are some people who lie about their resume, and as someone who tried being a customer support, the company should at least see to it that their agents are learning about what product/service they offer before sending them out to close tickets or read and copy/paste scripts. This is some oversight on the part of the casino for hiring agents that do not have the willingness to learn something about the platform. I guess this is why most casino platforms fail on the customer department - they don't hire the right people.
1294  Economy / Gambling / Re: 999LUCKYDICE GAMBLING SINCE on: September 01, 2023, 11:41:36 PM
I'm curious as to what your platform looks like. I might even consider playing in your casino if I am able to access it just to try it out. I know that other community members here already voiced out their concerns on your platform due to it being linked to a previous scam site, still my curiosity will not get the better of me and I'd love to see how you implement your dice and mines game. I tried using VPNs to access the site but to no avail.

But yeah, to other players in here, do not play in this casino or even try to submit KYC. Warnings have been raised, and this is just me genuinely wanting to see a casino with mines again.
1295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Socialtournaments-A way to stop gambling addiction on: September 01, 2023, 11:33:33 PM
It is in no way different to gambling IMO. It's still something that you join, bet, and win something from your initial bet. You are still playing with chances with and risking something to gain more so it's still gambling. People who use the platform and are not satisfied with the bets will surely look into another platform wherein they can play more. If anything, it just 'extends' their addiction, and maybe even amplifying their hunger for gambling.
1296  Economy / Gambling / Re: Unethical Practices: Involvement of Bots and Fake Accounts for contest/race on: September 01, 2023, 11:12:07 PM

But if I'm going to play and participate in competitions like this, I will always choose the site that I'm more familiar with, so that I can remove my doubts.
The thing is that, whenever you decide to gamble, you should have it at the back of your mind that you are up against the casino, and whatever outcome their gave you, you have to take and that is why we have the slogan house edge, so I won't deny the possibility of bot accounts being run by some casinos, but just as you have said, it good to first of all have the basic understanding and the awareness of possible bots activities in some games.
Also, you are right where you said you only gamble on casinos you are already used to, It makes more sense also and that sounds cool to me anyway, because you have to defend yourself against the casino at some point even though it sounds impossible in casinos, but when the luck is on your side, and you are gambling on a reputable casino both online and offline you are sure of winning something tangible.

That is an unfair practice from the casino's end and they should not have done that in the first place. True that they have what we call the house edge, but that doesn't mean that they can use that to justify their unfair practices and outright cheating. People should also try and avoid the casino who's practicing this as they are bound to lose their money easily without even having a fair chance to break even. It's never okay to be cheated off of your own money.
1297  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Opinion: Pag invest sa Bitcoin gamit ang Maharlika Fund on: September 01, 2023, 10:57:59 AM
This is a risky investment decision and yung gagamitin is pondo ng bayan so pagnagkataon, pare-parehas tayong mamomoblema dito.

Saka ang kinakatakot ko is decentralized ito, baka kung saan lang nila itransfer yung pera at sabihin na nalugu kahit hinde naman talaga.

Sana maging transparent ang government patungkol dito, we need an assurance that they are investing the money in the right place.

Satingin ko mas magandang ibang project nalang ang gawin in relation to Maharlika Fund. As much as may magandang epekto ito sa bitcoin at satin na may alam sa bitcoin system, overall kasi mas malaki ang risk na mangyayare at masyadong malaki ang pwedeng mawala sa nakararami.
1298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hong Kong officially launches its first Bitcoin and crypto trading platform on: September 01, 2023, 10:26:59 AM
Well, this is surely big news. However, there is of course a positive and negative effect that this launch has. First, it will cause a positive effect in a way that more people will hear about Bitcoin and be interested in it, high interest means possibly more people joining and using it. However, the counterpart of this is that the government will be able to have control over it, and privacy and security will possibly be out of the window. Additionally, there is the possibility of tax being applied as it is the most possible move the government can make to get something out of this. Lastly, there is also the issue of China banning Bitcoin trading, I'm sure Hong Kong will have to answer to some limitation regarding this as China still have some sort of legal authority with Hong Kong.

Generally, this change will have a positive effect on the popularity of Bitcoin, but it will surely have a negative effect on security and legal discussion in the long run.
1299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Countries where Bitcoin is “banned” on: September 01, 2023, 09:49:16 AM
First of all, thank you for the hard work I'm sure it took some of your time and definite effort to post this. Second, that is surely a lot of countries, I didn't expect them to be 18 countries in total seeing as how popular Bitcoin is getting. However, this post only shows just how difficult it will get for Bitcoin to have the international recognition and acceptance we all hope it gets. There will be a lot of countries that will go against this notion and it will certainly cause debates and heated discussions. The most prominent reason why a lot of countries will surely be added to this list is the Central Bank. I'm sure most of us are already familiar with this point with Bitcoin and Central Bank, and how most (if not all) countries will surely side with the latter one. Additionally, legalizing something, especially one that is connected to money and the economy will take a lot of time and process.

However, there are those bitcoin users who know just how to go around those restrictions, cause I sure know some people who live in that listed country who are able to transact and use bitcoin just fine. I'm sure they are able to find a loophole or a system that is out of the government's sight to do their transactions, and as bad as it sounds kudos to them for having the balls to do so. I mean, anything to make you money, right? It's not like they are hurting someone if they just bend the rules just a little bit, it is even pretty clever of them to find ways to go around the system undetected.
1300  Economy / Economics / Re: I wonder if food prices in your country have also increased? on: September 01, 2023, 09:12:00 AM
In my country, groceries like bread, meat, milk, cheese, and eggs have increased causing hardship particularly for lower-income households and overall economies. One of the reasons I think this is happening is there have been disruptions in global food markets due to planting season disruptions. To cope with the rising cost, if it is not super essential, I do not buy it. I have cut down on bread and replaced it with fruits and vegetables. Eating out is now once per week with friends if it is so important. There are a lot of other stuff that I do to save money too.

Perhaps each country will have its own difficulties. In my country, especially in the countryside where I live, fruits and vegetables are more expensive than things like bread, eggs, and milk. I guess each region's food needs are different.
But in general, even though inflation lasted for nearly 2 years, the people of my village did not encounter too many difficulties because they could produce their own goods such as rice, eggs, and vegetables...I'm not saying their prices haven't increased, but in my opinion they haven't increased significantly.

It is true that every region has significant food needs because each region is also able to produce significant food products, both in volume and in quality. For example, here in my country, each region is known for producing different food products, some are known for producing rice, and some for fish and other seafood. Such a thing is the reason why local trade happens, our region exports foods that are produced here to other regions while other regions do the same to our region. In most cases, locally exported products have higher prices, like in my area, seafood has higher prices while in the area where my mother lives rice and meat costs are higher. However, when inflation hit, it seemed as if it didn't matter what your area is rich in, all prices of food and necessities skyrocketed and what I usually spend for a month's worth of groceries is now being used to suffice 2 weeks' worth of food.
