I thought nearly all US facilities were air-conditioned to the point that even in summer you need to wear a jacket indoors XD.
I guess if the temperature is regularly over 40°C some air conditioning might be apropriate?
Yes. 40°C is the maximum allowed ambient temperature from safety standpoint. If, for some unknown reason, someone intend to operate his miner at above 40°C ambient temperature (say, some days in the summer in Israel without AC) we can update the firmware to allow it, at the expanse of hash-rate I have a hosting environment in mind that is only above 35-40 very occasionally, and then only for a short time. The lost hash rate from the higher temperatures would therefore be minimal but I don't want to damage the equipment or create a safety hazard either.

What files do I need for a backup? Only wallet.bin?
I'm backuping the whole set of wallets' files - just in case. I tried restoring from the key file and it sort of worked, but it lost (and did not restore once syncing to the block chain) the record of which outputs had been spent. Trying to send coins after that caused a failure due to double spend. Not good. Back up your entire wallet, not just the keys. Before restoring from the key file you should delete wallet.bin from the folder. Did you? Yes, I moved it somewhere else. Recommend anyone reading this to not delete it. Hmm..Very strange. I had no problems during restoring. Thanks for the info! Have you done a lot of transactions? I've traded quite a few coins, so my wallet has a lot of activity. Something in the code is not getting the restore process quite right.

A gui, mac bineries. And accessible windows bineries. The link at the begging does not work.
GUI and Mac binaries are both being worked on. Someone has already replied about the Windows binaries. It is very early in this history of this coin.

Current high bid sells 200K BCN for 0.3 BTC
|

I am new to cryptocurrencies. Some of you are so familiar with the process that complicated steps are deemed simple to you. With that said I was able to download and mine bytecoin bcn. As of today I can not download bitmonero for windows. This I believe is rush job attempting to be first to market and increase profit margin on very early knowledgeable adapters.
That may be true on many coins but this one has a very slow mining schedule, pretty close to bitcoin (years). Nobody is gobbling up all the coins early. No instamine here. Anyone involved in the first few years is an "early adopter."

In any case, the solo mining phase may be over soon. We need some sort of pool implementation.
But, but, but...60 second blocks!

For what it´s worth, you can get 1th bitmine clones delivered within 3 days for 2400 to 2500, same power efficiency as S2.
Did you guys receive them just now? "shipping before 10th April...."?
If so, the pricetag wasn´t justified at all....
Mine sort-of "shipped" on the 10th and I received it on the 15th. It was hashing within an hour. BTW, the pricetag in BTC depended a lot on when you ordered it, because the BTC exchange rate was dropping pretty fast during the sales period and the sales price was fixed in dollars. I ordered early and paid 5.6 BTC. Later orders paid a lot more.

We never said that we won't be accountable for delays. According to your terms of sale, you won't be accountable for delays We did say that we'll deliver on time and on spec. We wouldn't have taken pre-orders if we had any doubts about our ability to deliver. Your terms of sale instruct us not to rely on these statements. Delivery dates communicated or acknowledged by Spondoolies in the Order Confirmation are approximate only, and are dependent upon supply chain interruptions and stoppages, development delays, and other factors. Therefore, Purchaser shall not rely upon, and Spondoolies shall not be liable under whatsoever circumstances for any other estimation statement of expectation when delivery will occur. link

as I said before (without any ulterior motive) i was pleased when you managed to get hashing with your S2.
I got hashing (right at 1.0 TH) with the complex and time consuming process of plugging it and and entering the pool configuration. There are definitely some design problems here, and I've said so on this thread, but at the same time, I think you have a lot of squeaky wheels, and some unknown, but I suspect quite large, number of people who perfectly satisfied with the product and therefore relatively silent.

while im tempted, i cant ignore the aggressive push for sales and the defensive nature of some of the responses to legitimate concerns.
along with the august delivery date, 'promises' of ROI & the classic, 'do your own research because we wont be held accountable for delays' etc make it quite the scary propsition.
edgar, you did notice huh? well i am in, but it does make me ponder when you go the site and you $12k for the same machine you might get for under $5k, sounds too good to be true I know....I went for it anyway....gulp. 12K is the list price for single units but it is clear they are discounting it well below that. For example, their qty 3 discount is only $7k, plus some free hosting. Probably they don't really want to deal with a lot of qty 1 orders from the public.
