asicminer 1TH miners will be coming soon edit. Oh, thats $1800 /1THPS edit. oh and 600w/1THPS Factor in 4-5 difficulty increases before delivery and this a modest improvement over getting say five S1 today for around $5000, so worth watching but not necessarily worth the risk of a preorder. Maybe, maybe not in my opinion.

I would absolutely encourage small miners to solo mine if they are doing it as a hobby. As someone said earlier, it is much better than playing the lottery.

how long does it normally take?
I have been waiting since February 7.

sorry to say but DZ has been a disappointment for me as a whole experience now.
So please make a distinction DZ, I can't speak for the other guy but just as an observer here, what he said was that his experience was a disappointment "for [him]." That doesn't mean that nothing (or even most of what) you've done has been of great value to the members and the community at large. My own experience has been somewhat mixed. I wouldn't necessarily say a disappointment but I can certainly understand how others with a slightly worse experience than mine would feel that way.

The shelf looks fine. Just be aware if the floor is carpeted that you should be careful and discharge any static electricity before touching your gear. Actually the floor is carpetted, which makes me worried. Get an antistatic mat.

Does anyone mine with their Antminer in their bedrooms/room they spend most of their time in? Does it get too hot? Will you be able to have multiple Antminer's in your room in the summer?
Yes it will get warm in the room. I'm in a cold climate and I haven't used any (other) heat this winter. Summer where? You probably want to keep the temperature below 90-95 F as most computer equipment is specified to operate at that ambient temperature or below. If you are running these in a hot climate you probably want to air condition down 85 or 90 F (or lower if you want the fans quiet). Also, at least when they are new there are some "new electronics" odors/fumes. I wouldn't want that or the noise in my bedroom. "Low noise" fans won't work unless the room is cool. For the most part "low noise" fans just run slower.

Okay, I'm not ready to buy a backplane right now since they are expensive to buy in to the UK. I'm waiting on a used one to crop up on ebay soon, then I'll grab it then. What I was getting at is the best setup of standard PC PSUs for the Blade?
I have one I could sell you. I don't know a reasonable price, but I'm open to suggestions. I'd have to ship it from the USA though. If you only have a couple of blades you can use any reasonable PC PSU, although you probably want 80 PLUS Gold, 80 PLUS something at a minimum. If you want to get a whole bunch of blades on one you will need a 1000 W or 1200 W server PSU. Corsair AX1200 is good, but there are other good ones too.

Just panicked watching my 2.9 btc investment hit the rails as noted by those who are 0watching btc value plummet tonight. Rest assured I will mine like a trooper when the machines turn up.
Lower price -> slower difficulty jumps Silver lining

What is a good source for the fans? I have one unit with a flaky fan I need to replace.

IF YOU WANT TO CASH OUT I MIGHT BUY YOUR R17 SHARES
Seriously , if you are mulling about pulling out of the GB then please PM me about selling your shares. I have friends who want to buy in. Expect me to make a counter offer on secondary market shares.
Muah.
I have five shares for sale for a total of 0.85803427815 BTC. That's exactly what I stand to get back in refund, and is probably a good deal for a buyer at this point given the BTC price drop. You pay first, then I will post and PM to request the shares be transferred to you.

I would say the 1000W PSU with backplane is your best bet - not expensive and will do the job cleaner (i.e. less cable management)
cheers
how many miner for 1000w PSU ? The backplane has 10 slots I think but you are probably better off stopping at 8 or 9. I ran 9 for a while with no problems. Maybe go to 9-10 if you are running on 240 V (the PSU spec has higher max output at 240 V, and it will certainly run cooler in any case).

Order 489 for two arrived today to ne usa without notice. The very day I anticipated... Oh how sweet! Got one up and running behind a router but both ants have the same ip and I'm stumped at the moment as to what to do with the second one. Changing the ip seems obvious enough but I think I'm missing something even more obvious Change the IP under Network for the eth1 click Edit and change the 192.168.1.99 to anything that is not currently being used such as 192.168.1.200 then save and apply. okay I got one setup and changed it to 192.168.1. It seemed to work I was able to program it and set up a mining pool.. So I used stratum.btcguild.com:3333 as pool 1 How long before it shows some hash? or do I have the wrong address for btcguild? does it need to be an http address and not stratum? I've had trouble with btcguild. I think its a bug in cgminer, maybe fixed in the latest firmware? Anyway, try another pool. Eligius and slush have both worked well for me.

I just signed up at NastyFans. I have to save up some BTC to get going but this site looks great and the coins look amazing. I cannot wait to get one. Unless it has changed, if you don't have any seats your account will be deleted after 24 hours. No big deal you can create another one, but just a heads up in case that happens you know why. Its not that we don't like you!

Still waiting for my refund, PM sent on Feb 7.

I love my (physical seat) coins. They are so beautifully done. I kept some myself and gave some away as Christmas presents, which went over huge.

48 degrees celsius or 118.4 F, ok to run at this temperature 24X7?
Ambient or the temp sensor? If the temp sensor that is fine and expected. If you are planning to run in that environment, I'd be very careful.

Shouldn't a late delivery due to mechanical plane problems be entitled to a refund on shipping?

Is there currently an issue?? I have been mining for the past hour and have had around 200 accepts but when checking on your site my bitcoins unconverted and bitcoins earned hasn't changed? The recent shifts is showing my shares as usual but the earnings log isn't updating as regularly as usual (yesterday it was updating nearly every 2 minutes or so), but for the past hour it is only showing 5 logs.
Please read the big header at the top of the site: Note: Exchanging has been halted until Cryptsy processes our deposits...I had an issue like this with bter (and posted about it on bitcointalk on a few bter threads), but eventually I did get my coins back. I don't think they are stealing, "just" unreliable software and bad support.
I've been testing them a bit today, unfortunately they're missing a bit of the API we would need to work nicely. Sending works fine, creating trades works fine, unfortunately, there is almost no way to find out how a trade was executed, which is really important for us... Once you create the order, it just sort of disappears, we could do some absolutely terrible stuff with constantly polling balances, but saying it is prone to error is an understatement. Its just asking for trouble. Plus if they're losing deposits like that site mentions, not sure how much I want to deal with that either... Hopefully cryptsy handles our deposits over tonight so we can continue trading with them tomorrow. One big Doge deposit just went through, still waiting for the other, then I'll turn deposits back on. In case it wasn't clear from my message I would not recommend them until it is clear they have drastically improved their software and support (which as far as I know they have not). They didn't steal my coins but the coins were missing for about two months.
