1321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I learnt from a crackhead about gambling on: November 17, 2023, 09:48:24 AM
Well you are trying to compare drug addiction and gambling addiction but I think addiction is same and one addiction. It is what you do that you don't have control over and so it leads your life for you.

Therefore, both have their own different effect to the person who is addicted but on a different degree but I don't agree that drug addiction is a lesser addiction to gambling addiction.

Even to the society, the government mostly go after those crackheads and the major reason for drug addiction being bad is that it has direct negative effect on the person's health as a primary effect. Then a drug addict can take his or life directly and the life of others too. We have seen and heard of many popular personalities and public figures, musicians dying from drug addiction but at least for a longtime I have not heard of an addict gambler taking his life or that of others, I have seen them cry for losing their money Grin, showing regrets for playing.

So what we have to consider most in both is the primary effect. One is to the health and resulting to the death of the addict or causing death for another person. And for the gambler, he cries, regrets and keep trying to chase his loses, so he loses money majorly but not his life in most cases unlike the crackheads.
1322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I've learned so far as a gambler on: November 17, 2023, 09:24:11 AM
If you walk into a casino with $200 and you start playing with that $200 and you win $200, get the hell out, you simply just doubled your money, take your goddamn leave, what do you think you wanna do? Win a million dollars? You will go home empty handed.

The next thing that rings in your ear is you can still win another or more, that's the devil whipsering, the art of gambling is knowing when to stop.

Not exactly, it all depends because that time you are winning may be your lucky session and to maximize it may be a good decision. If in the process of playing then you start dwindling in winning or profit then you can run of with the remaining balance.

I think the point is, as much as we put a budget to how much we want to stake and play for the time we are there, it is not also bad to set a target to how much we are targeting to win since the luck is "shining " on us but we must ensure that we leave as soon as we get to that target because by then all our luck may keep favouring up until that that and who knows the house edge may take over afterwards. So to leave at a targeted profit when we are winning is still good a decision.

We should also build confidence to maximize profit afterall we lose so much on a bad day, why not win so much on a good day until you can run if the loses start to come. Going on to double our gambling budget, we can also maintain the ride to tripple it if there is real possibility for that.
1323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler's family action. on: November 16, 2023, 09:21:23 PM

I know a friend who happens to have the same story but not in gambling but when he hit the jackpot of promoting the right altcoin using bounties and airdrops. he never thought twice to gather his family and tell them about it. He bought his sisters some jewelry and smartphones and they extended their house with that money. He also gives their mother some nice gifts because my friend is really enjoying the scenery of a happy family. Even though he uses all the money he got from that single bounty reward, he never regrets it and now he has a stable job and no longer needs to invest his time doing some random altcoin bounties. mostly when we make others happy with what we can afford, it will come back to us double with lots of freebies.

Making the family happy from gambling winnings is a good one though but I think we should also try to invest some part of our winnings incase of rainy days depending on how much was won.

And to help uplift someone in the family is also a kind of human development like to help them in their finance to start up their own business, learn a skill, go to school etc but to squander winnings on just gifts and things of no immediate importance is not really a wise decision on winnings.
1324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some things you should always avoid while gambling ? on: November 16, 2023, 07:22:33 PM
That's right, isn't it? The sense of satisfaction that exists in gamblers is high, so it is difficult to find a breaking point that will make them realize that the victory they get is enough. And not continue the game that can spend back the winnings they previously got. But the reality is like this, many of them dare to continue their game without thinking about the risks they will get so that they regret at the end that they can only feel. In general also defeat is synonymous with upset, disappointed, sad. So naturally many people get emotional when they lose by wanting to gamble again to restore the losses they have felt, but that's impossible. The chances are very slim that they can restore the losses they have experienced, even if they gamble again with the aim of wanting to restore losses, it will only spend more of their money.
Human nature makes it difficult to stop gambling when you should, as if you are winning then you want to win even more, but if you are losing then you want to at least recover the money you have lost, now it is inevitable that this happens from time to time, however if this keeps happening to a gambler despite their attempts to try to curb this behavior, then maybe it is time they seriously think about leaving gambling behind.

Overall, we need the strong emotion to resist the urge to keep chasing our losses because the more we chase the chances are slim to recover and that bites into our bankroll more. This is a task that gamblers have to solve to be a reasonable gambler. Doing revenge gambling is one bankroll sucker as you lose control of properly taking your bet in the very calculative way.

Another thing with revenging the losses is that most times when you try to get back you increase the stake from the usual amount and if you lose in such times you see that you are losing more which makes your bankroll exhausted. So we need to have a strong control of our emotion. However, it is not easy when you are losing  Grin
1325  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Financial stability on: November 16, 2023, 04:30:56 PM
Money is good but it is the love of it that is condemned because love is strong and can make you take irrational decision, therefore if you love money that means you will do everything to have it.

But no doubt that money helps to make things which are suppose to be naturally difficult to be easy from family, to relationship, to helping others like the needy. Even in service to God, you need alot of money, evangelism need money and every other thing we can think of has element of money except we choose to play down on it. But we have to be careful not to allow money determine what we do or what decisions we take.
Money makes the world go round and this is a very important aspect of life because having financial stability will aid an individual to have many chances of success as ease since the money will be a fuel to making that happen faster than lack of money,  but also while we are at the pursuit of money,  we should know that the avoidance of greed is the most suitable and effective means to avoid losing or going after money accumulation on the wrong note.

Even the religions works requires money and worst still we have to come to a point where nothing works without money so we have to realize and place money in it right place and at all time.

Surely being financially stable increases our chances to good living. It helps us to maintain good healthy living that avoids unnecessary health challenges. Some people die from treatable sickness because they lack the finance to treatment and they initially rely on self medication until it is too late to be remedied even if they eventually go to the hospital by the help of others.

Seriously the need to have money can not be overemphasize because if you have not been in the situation that you need financial assistance then you wouldn't get the fact about what money can do to save our lives. It is not a ruse that the rich tries to get more because of the role that money play to better living but I won't subscribe to illegality because of money.

1327  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Raising children in this current society on: November 16, 2023, 03:11:17 PM
There is this popular saying that most children born around the year 2000 down are rude. As insensitive as it may sound,  it is actually true. The rate of moral decadence in our society today is alarming and parents need to be intentional in parenting. Parenting is a very big task which must not be neglected.  If you don't inculcate into the children the right values at their tender age, they will learn by themselves from social media or strangers and they might learn the wrong thing.

This is the era of information technology and it brings with it all manners of negative vices and the youth are the major carriers of these vices. Technology has brought so many innovations that has made humanity more comfortable to live in the world but at the same time we are facing serious training challenge in our hands.

Children learn so much unhealthy stuffs from the visual media, television and the rest, they browse online to see things they age is not ready to graple with and so they also exibit them wrongly. I believe the biblical verse that says spare the rod and spoil the child is very much suited for this era. Parents have to be on toes to be sure that they turn out good children and youth to the society because good and sane society actually starts from the training young people receive.
1328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys believe in other people luck and try to copy them? on: November 16, 2023, 02:27:06 PM
Op, I have tried this method out, and it never worked out for me, I wouldn't want to think of it again because I know how much I lost in a single result of this, where it happened that someone brought a game and told us that this is a sure game and that nothing would ever cut the slip that it was from a fixed game and funny enough it was a single game, Both team score kind of prediction and all of us that staked that game lost it all and this scenario did not happen once but in so many occasions I tried it out, So I no longer rely on someone luck or prediction to bet my game, if it is not my prediction I don't put my money.

When betting you have to always remember that we need to bet responsibly because there is no guarantee to winning a game and that is why you are feeling so disappointed.

Although before betting from someone's game we have to know if the person is competent with his predictions and how far he has been winning in his previous game. Moreover people who have winnings in their bets hardly will show you the games they want to bet especially in off line gambling.

Always ask yourself that person that is presenting game as sure bet and asking you for money before releasing the game, can't he bet for himself directly and win since he claim the game is a sure bet. We need to be wiser while betting other people's game because if it is sure bet, they won't share it to you.
1329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Difference between crypto gamblers - regular gamblers on: November 16, 2023, 01:36:17 PM

The only thing that makes me personally prefer crypto casinos is that there are various features that can always provide what I need and every win will not be known by others.
Plus, digital transactions make it easier for us to save money or deposit money quickly.

Of course, first is that there is choice of the coin to use in deposit to your casino account and if you use coins like Litecoin, the transfer fee is very cheap.

There is also your privacy and security to your games especially with blockchain and smart contract , you have the feeling of fairness and not the feel of manipulation.

Gambling with crypto also gives you increased knowledge about cryptocurrency and their is high possibility of investing in it especially when you win you can decide to transfer your winning to a personal wallet to hodl now that crypto price is expected to increase with bitcoin halving next year.
1330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your parent disinherit you eventhough you have not proven to be chronic gambler on: November 16, 2023, 12:15:02 PM

Maybe the person in the story is also been hated by their parents? Because if not, I think they can make the gambling issue a secret, even if the allegations were true and no other people will know, as long as the guy is not popular and is only gambling online inside their home.

Yeah there could be other reasons that the parents could hinge on gambling to be excuse for disinheriting because it is captured in the reason for disinheriting the person. There would be an under current that would make a parent to decide that the child won't inherit from them even if the child happens to be a chronic gambler, what he needs is help and not to be treated like trash and inhumane. The court can easily upturn the rule because it is not clearly started what makes up a chronic gambler.
1331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: For sports bettors, are you attracted with bet builder feature? on: November 16, 2023, 11:51:19 AM

Is it also possible to parlay a bet builder bet? Has anyone tried it yet?

What difference does it make... It is just to accumulate your different individual wager in one bet and also add the builder odds. Although it will make your bet harder because to scale through all the games will be a difficult task than playing a single game. I will prefer to give my bet more chance to win but boosting it with reasonable higher odds.

When a child or descendant leads a dishonorable or disgraceful life;

I think someone can disinherit the child based on whatever reason that is criminal or notorious but it can also be challenged strongly in court.

So on the face level based on the quote, the parents don't need to prove that the child is a chronic gambler because that is even relative. If the child has shown signs of gambling whilst it is written in the section that mentioned gambling, then it is already enough to label the child a chronic gambler if that is the word needed to classify it or put the knot to it. Then it will be in the place of the child to disprove if he succeeds.
1334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a gambler be a good bitcoin trader? on: November 16, 2023, 07:28:11 AM

There are many Bitcoin traders who are gamblers in crypto gambling, and most of them can also be said to be responsible for what I see and what I have noticed. Until now, they are still there in crypto gambling, and they are still very active.

And I also know that they also have deep experience as Bitcoin traders. As far as I know, I won't mention their names because they often give good advice on either gambling or trading.

Yes trading bitcoin and gambling are quite a different thing and require different exposure, knowledge or idea and with different operation though the challenges are the same like the risk of losing and the benefit of profit.

However, they are chasing same goal but differently.

Whether someone can do both, yes. It requires understanding of both differently. Whether trading bitcoin or stock, fiat etc they require trading skills while whether you are gambling of soccer game, slot, poker etc, they are all gambling and we agree they require quite some degree of luck.

1336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Casinos with Online and Offline version, Are they the same? on: November 15, 2023, 05:32:49 PM
.

What exactly, or why is offline and online version of the same casino sometimes different in terms of reputation/trust?

So apart from the information that betking.com and betking.io are not the same, the reason I want to adduce to the difference between offline casinos or game house and online casino in terms of reputation is that offline casino is quite physical and the owner might even be seen on the streets or the resident is a public secret. Therefore, the proximity is there and he could probably be lynched by aggrieved addict  Grin. So they always would keep their game on top notch unlike online casino that remedy at worst scenario would be a court adjudication.
1337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever Thought of Giving Back to the Community? on: November 15, 2023, 04:34:08 PM
Yes, but not with gambling, unless I won the lottery or something, and in any case I would give it back to a charity or several charities, I don't think individually, unless I knew of cases directly, but I would try to keep it as secret as possible. The thing is that I don't gamble large amounts, so there's no point in giving back to the community if I win $100. If I won the lottery it would be a different story.

Haha winning little also requires giving as little as it can be but the point is, it is almost like tradition for regular gamblers or addicts to give when they win. They see it as a social responsibility to other bettors to encourage or lift them up also. Sometimes that little money in gift go along way in the life of a gambler at least I know this for off line gambling.

However, a non regular player like you might not see it as some obligated impulse to do because you may not have received from others too. More like it is a routine thing for people who gamble regularly.
1338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever Thought of Giving Back to the Community? on: November 15, 2023, 03:43:10 PM
The act of giving is what is imbedded in persons to persons so it is relative and may not be tied only to gambling winnings and that is why you see people winning big and giving out very little while some one else can win relatively small and give relatively bigger to the proportion of his winning. Some people are givers and could believe more will come when they give while some don't have that kind of mentality. In the state of joy I will give irrespective of how much was lost before the winning.
1339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: For sports bettors, are you attracted with bet builder feature? on: November 15, 2023, 03:19:07 PM

So I'd like to hear your thoughts regarding this, is it also profitable or just a waste of money?

No it is not a waste of money but it has only limited your chances of winning on the bet. If you have taken higher risk in a game or a particular game, that will increase the odd for you and increased odd means higher profit from the usual but you have lesser success rate if you had taken only one chance.

For example in a soccer match where you bet on goal/goal and over 3.5 , it means both sides must score a goal and the total goals must be above 3 goals. So you should get a score like 3-1, 2-2, 3-2 but where all above 3 goals was scored by only one of the teams, you will lose the bet. Therefore, if you have a result like 4-0, 5-0, 6-0 , you have lost the bet since the other side didn't get a goal because you predicted that both side must score and that the goals will be above 3 goals.

In the same light, if the goals were below 3 but shared between the teams, you still lost. Like if you have a score line of 1-1, 2-1, you also lost the bet .

There are so many examples that can be given with your enquiry. Like if you bet 1& ov 2.5 , 2& 2.5 etc, they are of two different bets in a game and they deserve increased odds and it limits your winning chances.
