Not the nation but the rich people. Social stratification in Russia is huge, the poor are poorer, the rich are richer and most of the middle class is slowly going down. So yeah if you are in elite you can be happy how thing are, but if you poor or somewhere in the middle its not so good any more.
Around 15% of the Russian population is poor, while another 65% can be termed as "middle-class". The rich and the middle-class are doing quite good, when compared to the same in EU nations such as Romania and Bulgaria. The poor find it quite hard, but the government is doing all it can to help them, unlike the neighboring countries such as Ukraine and Moldova. Moldova as a neighbouring country? Are you using the 2016 maps ?

I've just seen this excellent piece of dismissal:
"LTC Goldcoin and PPC dont bring anything new that bitcoin doesn't already offer. Bitcoin is fine. Its Coke. all others are RC Cola."

Voting is already implemented in a couple of altcoins (PTS, Bitshares, NXT). I guess these implementations are need some adjustments for making a generic voting system as these are providing a weighted voting system.

Why do I feel so ashamed of my motherland?
Vladimir Putin has been described as a “czar” by fans and critics alike, but a group of Cossacks in St. Petersburg have gone a step further, erecting a statue of Putin in the form of a Roman emperor.
The 20-centimeter [7.9-inch] bust, erected by a group that supports Putin, depicts the Russian leader, head turned imperiously, wearing Roman laurels, armor and a cloak.
“In this image is the symbol of our Russian democracy,” Andrei Polyakov, who heads the Irbis Orthodox Union of Cossacks, which commissioned the statue for their new headquarters outside St. Petersburg, Putin’s hometown, told Russian media.
Well... and then what? If they like him, why they shouldn't erect a statue for him at their own new headquarters?

The monero guys should do something with the memory hogging client first. When that's done then I don't mind if they get a child board . Compile and use Github head instead of the previous tagged release, and you'll end up with this: That's testnet and mainnet. Thanks I'm going to try that .

Dogecoin will get real into trouble once one coin cost 0.00000001 BTC because then they will only be able to trade against LTC or NxT. After that they will lose a lot of volume. This is the only problem with inflation in Bitcoin world.
Trading against LTC or NXT isn't an issue until these coins worth more than 1 sat . But I think 0.00000001 BTC/doge it a bit too pessimistic today.

Perhaps he has enough money to make longer term "investments", so he can buy various coins really low (during the panic sell or when things are settled after those big and scary red candles) and than he can wait a couple of weeks or even moths for a good sell opportunity, or for a good opportunity when he can move the price up easily.
As I've seen most "daytraders" are using only a few BTC maybe even a few tenth of a BTC on bittrex so they have to concentrate on a few coins and can't afford holding coins for weeks.

My advice is to place your kingdom deep inside a continent, else, with the sea level rising, you may lose it. Now let's find a country that would sell you land for this project....
In a properly corrupt African banana republic, he can buy land and could even buy people for his new country... so he should go to Ukraine .

Ripple Labs is a company. They have rules for the currency they issued. They also have investors, money, and that fine isn't something terribly big sum. Directly dumping would be only good for scaring away existing and potential partners and investors.

This is the most interesting question of the last week and this week as well . IMO most of these coins were cheap, so it was easy to build up some nice stacks, LTC is also goes for peanuts so it's relative easy to make some pig pumps on Cryptsy, what will bring the prices up on other exchanges too.
|
|
|
Apart from pumping and dumping, I haven't seen any real reason for this great increase in prices. If someone aware of some great new features or services please correct me.

"Islamic State (IS) fighters are being smuggled into Europe by gangs in the Mediterranean, an adviser to the Libyan government has told the BBC. Abdul Basit Haroun said smugglers were hiding IS militants on boats filled with migrants. Officials in Italy and Egypt have previously warned that IS militants could reach Europe by migrant boat. However, experts have cautioned that it is very difficult to verify or assess such claims." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-32770390Great, we're saving them, so they can cut our throat... :/

Hope dies last. Until they have those coins there's always hope for minimizing losses, or even make some profit. In most cases it's a false hope, but still hope.

That's only what they want you to believe. It is quite hard to interpret ancient writings the way that suits the people. Belief in nature and the supernatural probably did; religions like Christianity did not.
The best thing in ancient writings is that you can interpret and explain it as you want.

hehe..
Well, you are right about that. But arent they more expensive and harder to get into a system?
As I've seen a few months ago wind turbines were slightly cheaper, but the installation and maintenance costs are higher. You can connect turbines and solar panels to the system with pretty much the the same stuff (controller/rectifier, battery, inverter). In hybrid systems usually the same controller dealing with the wind turbine and solar panels as well.

The scientific method relies on available information and not idiotic beliefs. It is constantly evolving, scrutinized and does not stuck with dogmas.
The scientific method relies on deduction first, then generalizing the results and finally creating rules depending on the success of the generalization attempt. Actually this could be just as misleading as any religious beliefs, and scientists can be as dogmatic as the most hardcore members of the Congregatio pro Doctrina Fidei .

This is not fun stuff but hard to ignore. For who's interested about regulation proposals in the US: this article is a bit dated (Feb 2015) but probably still relevant: "Decentralized Currency Issuers May Still Require License - The first draft of the BitLicense stated that, “controlling, administering, or issuing a Virtual Currency” qualifies as Virtual Currency Business Activity subject to licensing. This remains unchanged in the new draft, and that’s unfortunate." https://coincenter.org/2015/02/our-initial-thoughts-on-new-yorks-revised-bitlicense-proposal/I'm not sure how things are going in Europe but I would guess regulation proposals will be fairly similar. From reading multiple articles it sounds like the biggest requirement to get legal will be "KYC" or Know Your Customer. It's not a matter of "if", but "when" and if we can come up with a system that satisfies some of those requirements we can have a chance to play, otherwise it looks like much of the innovations will be pushed underground. EDIT: here's the full text of the first New York proposed regulations: http://www.dfs.ny.gov/about/press2014/pr1407171-vc.pdfAny thoughts? This guys are clearly have no clue what cryptoes really are . Once is started there are no controller or administrator. Issuer (= miner) could be a Chinese or Brazilian bloke who just have mined the block on a school computer... they surely going to line up in NY for bitlicense .

Because believing in something without evidence is idiotic.
All religions are nothing more than scams preying on stupid people.
Do you believe what your psychologist said to you? You see that's pretty much the same guesswork as the neolithic shaman's explanations about harmful of beneficial spirits .

Religion was made by some smart people to control a large amount of people. And even today its being used as a weapon (ISIS, Al-Shabab, Taliban, Al-Queda and all the others)
I think they didn't make the religion. They just ruined what is the meaning about a true religion and used that for their private advantages. Yeah maybe they used that to be a leader or honorific person or the powerful man in the world. You're wrong. This is the perfect way of controlling the majority of the population. In the past the times were often very tough, and the weak needed something to keep them going. Hope is the main thing that drives the majority even today. Introducing the religion concept helped control and keep most of the religious population at peace. Atheists are the ones that are thinking for themselves. I'm pretty sure that the majority of people that are 'awake' and see the flaws in the current system (e.g. NSA anyone?) are either agnostic or atheist. Atheists however aren't that many in numbers compared to Christianity for example. There is no exact number but you can check it out for yourself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_atheismIMO he's right. Religions were not invented. Religions are evolved together with mankind as humans were searching for answers when they seen something inexplicable. Certainly if there's a demand someone will turn up with some sort of "supply". This is how charlatans, priests, psychologist trying to satisfy these demands for the quick buck .
