461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC was first bottom up experiment. Is ETH first top down planned by banks? on: February 29, 2016, 04:52:46 PM
I think ETH is still a bottom up project, but banks jumped on it as it might be something useful for them, they can make tests, experiments, they can gather knowledge and experience in a live environment and they can get all of it for free.
462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: MicroCash. Now in Alpha 2 release. on: February 29, 2016, 04:47:54 PM
Stuff from RealSolid used to turn out to be some sort of scams. Why should we believe in his latest scheme? Anyway if it's minable then BCX will surely get a new hobby Smiley.
463  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 10 THINGS 'IDIOCRACY' PREDICTED WOULD HAPPEN, AND SADLY ALREADY HAVE on: February 29, 2016, 04:31:28 PM
Damn! You guys are right. Idiocracy is more and more like a documentary than fiction :/. I'm just wondering how deep this will go?
464  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Socialism is the key on: February 29, 2016, 04:05:04 PM
The only thing killing socialism is greed. Greed and corruption.

...and itself, by ignoring human nature. Greed is the main driving force behind development. Should I quote Gordon Gekko?

Quote
How do you fight it? By creating a democracy. but a true one not one of our shitty Western false democracies! One using the blockchain to make people vote for every law and every constitution modification! That's what should be done! Then you would see that we have far enough money, we're just letting private investors keeping it.

So, then Switzerland is a socialist dreamland? Just because of they doing what you said, but they still looks pretty much capitalists Smiley.
465  Economy / Economics / Re: If you hold 1 BTC you are a pioneer on: February 29, 2016, 03:56:51 PM
How about we wait for bitcoin to reach 500/1000$ first, and only then dream to become rich with 1 bitcoin.

This is a good point Smiley. Currently people who owns 1 BTC might be pioneers, but surely not a wealthy pioneer Smiley.
466  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gay marriage will destabilise family life on: February 29, 2016, 03:39:08 PM
Ooooooooooooook...

So we should come back to the good old "woman at house, men at work" ?
If you want to go this way, I'd say the family destabilisation was caused probably a few thousands years ago, when we started to take care of our olds and weaks. A few thousands years ago we just let them die, it was much easier and much closer to nature.

That's no longer working. That's why I mentioned the "ever decreasing purchasing power of salaries" between other reasons. Even if some ladies would want to be "full-time housewives", they can't really do that in most cases if they are want some good living standards.
Actually the elders in a family were a stabilizing force in most cases. (BTW higher primates, dolphins, elephants, crows used to care about their elderly, so this is more likely something about intelligence.)
467  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gay marriage will destabilise family life on: February 29, 2016, 02:48:54 PM
Gay marriage isn't the cause of destabilised family life. That was destabilized long time ago. I'd say this is an at least hundred years old story, what accelerating since the 70's, partly because of re-evaluation of traditional gender roles, partly because of the ever decreasing purchasing power of salaries, and also because of marxist indoctrination in most of the schools.
468  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 13-year old arrested for insulting Erdogan on: February 29, 2016, 11:43:06 AM
I don't understand this. Every European Union member should abide by the laws and regulations set by the EU. For example, Greece is forced to accept all these immigrants, as the EU rules demand that the borders should be open to anyone who claims that he is a refugee. Poland is forced to provide translation services for the speakers of Kashubian language (a minor language which is spoken by a few thousand people), as the EU laws demand that minority languages must be recognized in all the member nations.

Now how is this going to work out in Turkey? Until recently, the use of languages other than Turkish for private conversations were illegal in Turkey, and doing so was a criminal offense. So, is the EU going to exclude Turkey from all these laws and regulations?

The EU used to be quite relaxed on violating some of it's own basic values if it's about a new landgrab :/. Ukraine is a good example for that, and I guess Turkey is big and juicy enough to condone even a small scale genocide, if necessary.

469  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Isis video targets Twitter and Facebook CEOs over suspended accounts on: February 29, 2016, 11:33:54 AM
I guess these people used to be targeted by hundreds of lunatics all the time, so the IS guys can get a number and join the queue Smiley. Is anyone knows which new emoticon Mark Zuckerberg used when/if he answered to the threats Smiley?
470  Economy / Exchanges / Re: yobit.net is a scam ? on: February 29, 2016, 11:26:09 AM
I think this isn't not something about being a scam site. This is just poor management and crap support. However the first signs of issues with Cryptsy were delayed withdraws. Perhaps they just have some technical issues, but some precaution might be useful in the case of Yobit.
471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing whenever you're Gaining? on: February 29, 2016, 11:15:09 AM
As many people said before, if the site "provably fair" then they do not have the ability to manipulate the outcomes of a roll. So I'd say it's all about being lucky... or not Smiley.
472  Other / Meta / Re: Tagging both operators and participants of Ponzi schemes is extremely effective on: February 29, 2016, 10:05:02 AM
Idiots are used to be quite resourceful when they want to be parted from their money. You can't keep them away from scams by force Smiley. Only education can help in the long run, but raising awareness about a scam might help for at least a few people to avoid some losses, so I like your idea as a short/medium term solution.
473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Theoretically there will be exactly no bitcoins in the future. on: February 25, 2016, 04:51:04 PM
One thing that probably has not been thought of, during the creation of BTC, is that the number of Bitcoins will be slowly reducing to zero. There will be, in some time, 21KK BTC, but what about bitcoin that get lost? I mean hardware malfunctions. Wrong address transfers. Lost passwords. Forgotten wallets etc.

Do we know, how many of all Bitcoins is in circulations at this moment? I mean we can count the number that indicates how many it should be. We however do not know how many of them is inaccessible.

One day it might be a problem, but probably not the problem of our generation. Still statistically that says bitcoin cannot survive.

If this is a problem for the next generations then let them sort it out. BTW if they really want, I'm pretty sure they can hard fork BTC for replacing lost coins or adding more coins to the network. Or they can just replace the whole thing with something new in CLAM style.
474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoin on: February 25, 2016, 04:41:28 PM
Generally speaking yes, alts used to follow bitcoin with some delay. However after sudden changes in BTC price (in any direction) alt prices used to drop first and catch up with the change in a few days.
Anyway, when bitcoin is on the rise that will generate an overall bullish sentiment all over the market.
475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Maidsafe coin price rocket? on: February 25, 2016, 04:35:23 PM
Hi, I bought about 2000 maidsafe coins a week ago and now if I sell I will make 0.11 btc profit Cheesy I could have invested more btc into it but there's no point in regrets. The price of MAID seems to keep going up. Will it keep going up or go down?

Altcoin scene is pretty much like space travel: what goes up will come back down sooner or later Smiley. MAID is now on an up-trend because of the impending launch. We'll see how that's panning out and how long this momentum will last.
476  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 13-year old arrested for insulting Erdogan on: February 25, 2016, 04:12:38 PM
Slick move... are they going to let in Syria next?

Probably not, as Syria have no European part, but Ukraine is an other promising nest of hornets for the taking Smiley.
477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Storing of Bitcoins is against Bitcoin. on: February 25, 2016, 03:40:37 PM
Storing of Bitcoins is against Bitcoin.
No one will offer services for Bitcoin.
Spend Your Bitcoins.

You are right, but spending on what? Until now the only useful stuff I've ever seen here was some cigarettes smuggled from Latvia Smiley.
478  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Anti-Atheist Bigotry: Atheists Are As Distrusted As Rapists on: February 25, 2016, 03:26:21 PM
Am I told such thing? As far as can remember I've made a generic statement about "militant atheists". Are you a militant atheist?

I don't know about "militant Atheists" (seems like a misnomer... did you mean militant Anti-theist?)

I know a guy who self-identifies as a militant Agnostic... does that count?

What Is A 'Militant Agnostic' And 'Agnostic-Atheism'?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcRK9eF3ToQ

Take a look at "comrade" Beliathon if you want to see one Smiley. In my wording they are the atheist equivalent of religious fundamentalists who want "proselytise" all "errant souls" around.
479  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 13-year old arrested for insulting Erdogan on: February 25, 2016, 03:18:39 PM
...and some idiots in Brussels are thinking about letting Turkey into the EU. They shouldn't even consider that until such "cult of personality" exist over there.
480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you consider trading as gambling? on: February 25, 2016, 03:05:34 PM
Trading is more like sports betting. You make your educated guesses and then make your "bets". Of course luck (scammers, whales, FUD and hype, bugs in the code) have an important role in trading as well.
