1341  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Best cold wallet for BTC storage? on: October 06, 2022, 06:06:36 AM
Trezor is still my go-to for cold wallet, it's a pretty awesome wallet and it's easy to set up plus it's totally safe, that is if you follow their guides and you are buying from a respectable seller that wouldn't tamper with the wallet that they're selling. Overall though, pretty decent wallet even though there are some huge downsides.
1342  Economy / Economics / Re: America Has Lost Its Oil Buffer on: October 04, 2022, 07:27:42 AM
I don't think it's a big problem for the US. Especially with today's falling oil prices. Totzhe China can resell, at a cheap price, tighter Russian oil. If Urals today costs $66 per barrel (the spot price!), then China's price is already about $30 per barrel. And to play along with the United States, it is now very profitable for China - well, not to do business with losers ?! Smiley
Don't the US get it's oil in the Middle East and don't they have their own oil wells in the country? I'm a little confused as to why their SPR is such a big deal? Can't they just get more so they can replenish the losses in their reserves?
1343  Economy / Economics / Re: More people now work in clean energy than in fossil fuels on: September 18, 2022, 02:22:47 PM
Too bad, some of the countries are reverting back to coal power, if I remember correctly there's a news about Germany slowly dismantling their nuclear powerplants and they are continuing their reliance on fossil fuels for electricity. Hopefully it's not a big impact but we know that some countries will likely follow them.
1344  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: MBit SCAMMERS on: September 02, 2022, 07:00:26 AM
It's the problem with KYC and casinos that want to scam you. When you lose money they're fine with that but once you want to withdraw a win they suddenly want KYC claiming that you were randomly selected to do this or that you are suspected of multi accounting because someone logged in from another IP, or whatever else. Then they can say that the documents provided are not enough and require proof of residence a bill paid in your name at that residence and so on. Most people can't provide anything like that. Like when you rent an apartment you pay the landlord and all bills are in his name, he pays them. The KYC requirements from some of these casinos are ridiculous.
But that never stopped people from playing in those online casinos, the KYC requirements only gets difficult when they don't want you to win a huge amount of money, don't they have an easy and lax requirements during registry? So I think that if they're not regulated in this aspect, they will continue to use this as a scapegoat for their scams.
1345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When and how did you discover Bitcoin? on: August 26, 2022, 04:35:10 PM
2018, I think. I heard news about Bitcoin as it's used for illegal activities like terrorism, money laundering etc. So I searched and learned about it on YouTube and Google, then I found more and l'am curious too. Then one of my friends recommended this bitcoin talk platform.
Mine would be around 2016 with the same reason, I was curious about Silk Road first and then the people covering the topic keep mentioning bitcoin so I got curious and that's when I started reading about bitcoin although my fascination at that time was the enigmatic creator so I don't dived too deep in technicals, I was an 7th or 8th student at that time so all I care much about back then is playing games with my friends.
1346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins are Not Real — Or how People Blindly Accepted Nakamoto's Nonsense on: August 21, 2022, 09:32:59 AM
OP makes a couple of old sayings come to mind and validates them:  1) Never argue with a fool- they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.  2) If you can't dazzle them with intellect, baffle them with bull.
Those two saying are almost the same thing and also I don't think that OP is going to be doing any argument regarding his stance since he did already an essay worth of words to establish his belief that bitcoin is imaginary. Probably OP is someone who missed out buying bitcoin and is bitter that it go at such high prices.
1347  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 truths about bitcoin, in my opinion? on: August 11, 2022, 04:35:18 AM
1. Bitcoin will probably make a lot of people rich especially for long term holders... again
Don't hold on too much hope in this one, don't invest in uncertainty even if there's a pattern, put some money in bitcoin just in case though since we won't know what can really happen.
Quote
2. Bitcoin is the future and bitcoin is the medium of exchange because it is widely accepted, portable, shareable, accessible, commensurate and relatively stable. That's why it will be used as future currency.
Same old but it's the truth, I guess we just have to say it until everyone accepts it
Quote
3. Bitcoin can save the world.
I don't see how it can save the world because bitcoin isn't a panacea that can cure all the problems that the society faces, can bitcoin solve wars? How about pollution? Habitat destruction? Sea levels rising? I don't think so.
Quote
4. Bitcoin is not very easy to understand and there is too much misinformation about it.
This I can agree but we always have to remember that if something is unknown or new to someone they tend to get scared and they're prone to misinformation or misunderstanding, we can always educate them to change their minds or broaden their perspective.
1348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could bitcoin mining solve climate change? on: August 10, 2022, 02:48:16 AM
One thing is for sure, Bitcoin usage all lead to lesser usage of paper currency and thus lesser tree cutting.and yes corresponding carbon footprint of banking and financial system will also be less.
Trees aren't the biggest contributor in the fight against climate change, that's what they want you to think while they pollute the oceans killing the algae that's making the most work, trees are more on the creation of habitats for insects and animals. And I don't think that bitcoin mining switching to green energy will be a big help too because there's still the coal industry to worry about and they're a juggernaut that's the biggest contributor in climate change. We don't have to worry too much about it though, in bigger picture, the humans will adapt or die and the world won't care because for the Earth, it's just a normal process, we just accelerated it.
1349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can anyone reccomend solid bitcoin\crypto channels to learn and get latest info? on: July 09, 2022, 07:22:23 PM
Here's my two cents regarding this topic, you don't need a lot of them, watch at least two video of each recommended channels and see if you are learning something new, if not then go to the other one until you find what you think is best for you. Mine might be a little cliche but I watch Humphrey Yang and Andrei Jikh for crypto stuff and even financial stuff.
1350  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin broke $20K on a weekend? on: June 20, 2022, 02:00:08 PM
I think the cause of the drop in the price of bitcoin to $20k is because it is influenced by the world's economic conditions, where the geopolitical conditions of war and inflation are happening in the world. In addition, the cause of the decline in bitcoin prices is also influenced by the strengthening dollar.
War's been going on for a long time already so I don't think that it's one of the causes in the dump because I feel like it's more to do with the global market on the slump so your first guess is probably the right one. I don't know much about the dollar strengthening, can anyone elaborate on that one.
1351  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Going To Fall Below The Previous 20k ATH possible? on: June 20, 2022, 12:43:39 PM
After seeing the price of bitcoin stuck at the $20k price level, it will allow bitcoin to continue to experience further declines in price towards the $17K area. If the current price decline continues, it is possible that the bitcoin price will drop lower than the previous ATH level.
It's already the start of the winter in the market, I am pretty sure that we will probably see bitcoin go down much lower in the near future, I think that 17k might not be the lowest point that bitcoin can go, there's definitely a support but bitcoin is still as volatile as ever.
1352  Economy / Speculation / Re: WHAT EVENT DO YOU THINK WILL USHER BTC INTO THE NEXT BULLRUN? on: June 19, 2022, 10:29:06 AM
The event that guarantees bitcoin a bullrun is definitely the halving, that I am pretty sure of because I've seen what happened after the halvings in the past, prices pump and the market is going wild. The other events are not the biggest factors but we can't deny that they coincide.
1353  Economy / Speculation / Re: Today is the day on: June 19, 2022, 08:52:34 AM
If you look at logarithmic models then this was expected to happen after the next halving.
And yet people still thinks that bitcoin is going to see it's end everytime the market is on its red days. My newsfeed is full of these kind of people again, they're prophesizing that the cryptocurrency market is facing its end, I just laugh at all of them though, while they're panicking, here I am stockpiling my stash and waiting for the prices to go down much more.
1354  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 17, 2022, 12:44:09 PM
Overal sentiment (all markets) is fear. Don't expect big things until settle down.

That is if it settles down. I have a gut feeling that we will more drama around the market. Especially the crypto market..
This is a good time to buy especially if you're a newbie and you are planning to get into crypto or even if you've been in the crypto space for a long time, you'll know that this situation is an opportunity to buy discounted crypto and hodl in hopes that you will make a big profit in the future.
1355  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin, I salute your final ATH. on: June 16, 2022, 01:53:15 PM
Where's proudhon when BTC is crashing  Huh
Don't worry, pretty sure that he'll be up again and he's probably trying to write all the stuff that he's planning to post in advance or maybe he just got tired of being such a BEARer of FUD and an advocate of negativity in the market that he left the forum altogether or he's busy working on his job that pays fiat.
1356  Economy / Speculation / Re: Peter Schiff Advices Don't Buy the Dip on: June 15, 2022, 04:06:12 PM
He is also one of those who propagate negative things about bitcoin so I usually ignore his tweets.

It is true that bitcoin could fall even further possibly below $20k in the near term, but that doesn't mean we should wait for bitcoin to drop. Bitcoin is a long term investment buy it now and hold it for the next 2 3 years it will definitely pay off so no need to take the advice of a bitcoin hater and miss out golden opportunity.
You ignore his tweets but at the same breathe you agree with what he said that bitcoin could go down much further is the most palpable. I would agree with you regarding buying bitcoin right now but given the current winter in the market, I think that we have to wait it out a little, try to make sure that you can get the most out of what amount you're shelling out.
1357  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Tulip Mania 2.0 on: June 14, 2022, 12:51:13 PM
If you're seeing 1000 USD as the lowest for bitcoin then it's not the same as Tulip Mania, 1000 is a big difference when compared to zero, tulip became worthless while bitcoin still has some worth in it so you're already contradicting your own statement by comparing bitcoin to tulip and speculating that it will go down to 1000 instead of doubling down on your stupidity that it will go to 0.
1358  Economy / Speculation / Re: $13,000 is quite possible this week on: June 14, 2022, 11:03:03 AM
You don't know what you're talking about, whales aren't simpletons like you are, they will find a way to be able to make some money in the market because I am pretty sure that they've survived this long because they know how to turn the current situation in their favor. The market will always be unpredictable, don't try to predict it's every little movement because it's futile, might as well look at it at a long-term perspective.
1359  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $40000 resistance on: March 17, 2022, 04:34:46 PM
So it seems that the resistance phase of bitcoin is at 40k usd right now, it is hard to guess if the price will go up or down in the next few weeks. Today the market looks good as the bitcoin price has risen a bit and got +5% since last week. I think the volatility will be between 35-45k usd in the next 2-3 months, but later in the summer we will see an increase in the price of btc up to 60k or even more.
Much harder to guess especially the long and short are at an equal position and they both seem to hold on to what they believe in. My take on the current movement in the market is just observe, see if there are more factors that might affect the market even more, for better or for worse.
1360  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin touched $43k, from $33k in two weeks on: March 17, 2022, 03:32:22 PM
Bitcoin price now is something that is not constant and because of fluctuations up and down i don't think is nice to encourage any one who is beginner to buy Bitcoin at this time, because two days ago Bitcoin price were exactly 39k, 38k and today the bench line is 40k, so some one who by at this price of 40 will be expecting the price to clamps more higher for it to make profit why the price can go below expectations.
Isn't bitcoin that way for a long time ago? I don't think that what's happening to bitcoin right now isn't something that has happened recently because I am sure that the volatile nature of bitcoin has been present. I agree with what you're saying that you shouldn't encourage someone to buy right now but I think that it only applies to those who are not in the market for the long-term.
