1361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been threaten to stop gambling on: July 01, 2023, 08:29:21 AM
This is the reality mate not all gamblers open their situations in their family but some of their friends already know about them.  And the reason why is that happened is that they are more open to their friends rather than to their family because when their family will know about their situation then it will cause minor or even major problem fro their family.
And if their friends already know that someone is already addicted to gambling, they can approach him and try to get him out of gambling while giving him a choice of activities to do. This will make people addicted to gambling think that they still have many choices of activities that they can use to reduce their gambling activities. And after knowing this, he can tell that he wants to stay away from gambling but still can't. I think his friends will help him to reduce his gambling time and even help him to cure his gambling addiction.

Though this is true but it's very rare for you to discover nowadays that friends will advise someone positively than the negative way constituting to the already created problem on ground, also, we are no more kids that will expect people around us taking us as a reference point of discussion while correcting us from the wrong way we have been living our lives being a gambrler, we should instead be a motivation to others as well.
1362  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can BTC or crypto users play politics in Nigeria? on: June 30, 2023, 03:35:26 PM
I must say this that anyone who is able to combine cryptocurrency with politics in a country is really trying well and deserves a kudos, because the two are very demanding and challenging to handle and it takes someone who must have been very versatile to be able to make a blend of them altogether, this same thing is not only common to your country alone but i think it's what is being applicable on others as well.
1363  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's really scary about artificial intelligence? on: June 30, 2023, 03:24:06 PM
Just as there are diverse opportunities that comes along with the use of AI in every sectors of life, we may also have the fear of using this in an indiscriminate manner to human abuse, since it's mostly and likely to appear decentralized, everyone may use them against their oppositions in many ways just to get their personal ambitions fulfilled, if this could not layer yield to an increased rate of illicit activities and scams on the digital network and technologies
1364  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: This increment of Fuel price in Nigeria on: June 30, 2023, 03:15:23 PM
one thing I love about most Nigerians is that regardless of how difficult it is to survive in this country people always device means to survive.
This is both our blessing and our curse.

Marketers project N700/litre petrol
N700/litre will soon become the normal price, and we will be heading to N1000/litre maybe before this administration is over.

I just dey pity all those businesses wey dey depend on petrol and diesel powered generators to run their business, because they will really be running at loss and those that cannot adjust will be forced to close up.

This one thing we cannot be sure of by the dictate of the government is for them staying by their words, is the #500 not a complete removal on subsidy revenue or still under a partial subsidy removal, there's no peace anywhere if we are not ready to give one to ourselves in this we are all into altogether, this new proposed #700 is on what basis, how is this coming in again not quite long after the struggle for the adoption of #500 per litres.
1365  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How is the chance of $PEPE to become the next $SHIB? on: June 30, 2023, 03:07:35 PM

Pepe is already in the top 100 coinmarketcap which is a surprising thing for me,
to be honest I didn't think Pepe could be there, I saw Pepe on tiwtter and website also nothing interesting,
and even when compared to Shiba of course Shiba is much better and deserves are in the top 100

Just as Pepecoin has the very possible means to rises, we can also have these same experience with other cryptocurrencies when they get to this juncture, the market value is what we may not completely come into it's conclusion since it's volatile and also looking at the way the other altcoins were fast rising, Pepecoin is one of the hottest crypto to search for and invest because of the potentials in it to maintain a good stand in the crypto market base on recent findings.
1366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Cash is pumping, why? on: June 30, 2023, 03:02:49 PM
I only begun to notice when people in social media were saying to stop shorting it to avoid causing a short squeeze which will only cause it to pump higher.

I am not quite certain why it is pumping, however, there are rumors that TUSD is being printed to pump Bitcoin Cash. I will collect more information and share them in this thread. If anyone has news, rumors and speculations on why this is happening, please share them.

With cryptocurrency news, it's either we choose the side of believing whatever the news or people around the world say or we work strictly on our own personal research and findings, on a normal day, if there's no any correlation between bitcoin cash and the TUSD the market will remain volatile and still pump and dump, should we now rely on relating one event to the other linking them as possible reasons behind every occurrences in cryptocurrency, we may never finished this.
1367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid a scam project? on: June 30, 2023, 02:51:44 PM
I usually wait for the token launch then maybe give it all the room for their hype and then the boring phase Most scam project usually after the pump and hypes disappear while the good project takes its time to gain trust of its community and grow Usually you start buying when coins are dumping and there is a little doubt among investors If you trust the project then buy all the lows

Actually there's more advantage in going for a project prelaunch sales in other to maximize more return on investment but it also have higher risk because some will only use that avenue to scam investors and run away, but when we are very good at doing research on these projects, we will know the good ones from the bad and how to identify one when we come across them before making an investment.
1368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yield farming vs Staking on: June 30, 2023, 02:48:11 PM
I've came across "yield farming" which looks quite similar to staking. You basically go on a "hunt" for "De-Fi" platforms which offer the best rates for your stablecoin (or token) holdings. This is done in a non-custodial manner through the use of smart contracts. On staking, I can basically "delegate" my coins to a validator and earn daily income.

What I want to know is if "yield farming" is better than staking. An overview of the advantages/disadvantages between the two would be nice. Any clarifications would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

They are only similar to each other but obviously not the same thing, if you're staking, then you're taking a particular leverage position with the corporation or project you're dealing with and have right to handle a particular portion of bond in your own capacity assigned to you base on your stake amount or contributions, yield farming is like you investing on a particular project that you perform some particular daily task to be rewarded with some incentives in any currency form.
1369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: June 30, 2023, 02:34:47 PM
It is likely that the game designers and developers would adapt and evolve the games to maintain their level of challenge and engagement for human players. However Poker is what it is, and it is not going to change that much. AI stands a chance of winning, as the rules are quite precise and always the same. The AI managed to defeat some F-16 Aces when the rules where set and general understanding mattered less.

Maybe in some applicable gambling games and their respective platforms, they may soon begin to come up with some changes in adjustment to their gambling rules and regulations when they might have discovered that using ChatGPT is not to their own benefits when used by gamblers, thesame law may include what preventer the use of VPN against some sites to avoid any possibility for them being cheated and very soon, there may be something like this related to guide and moderate the use of AI if not working well with their systems.
1370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lotteries and possibility vs. probability on: June 30, 2023, 02:20:18 PM
The past declared winners inspired people to continue grabbing their tickets because they also fantasize to win a huge amount of money and can change their life instantly.

There's no doubt that some have made this an opportunity to win a lifetime experience they will never forget in lottery, yet some have also been trying over time to make such opportunity but it never comes but despite they keep trying while some had stop giving a try on lottery application, since it's believee that lottery comes with alot of benefits, if everyone can made it to the entry because they needed just few applicants to be selected among many applying.
1371  Economy / Gambling / Re: is KYC data on Gambling sites safe? on: June 30, 2023, 01:49:52 PM
You should always remember, nothing is safe on the internet. There are chances that your data might get leaked. Have you seen how often there are "leaks" and "breaches" even in those very reputable companies? So yeah, it is a risk you have to accept or else you will limit yourself to lesser options on the internet.

There may not be any safety in terms of privacy with the use of the internet but there are advanced technology system that are privately secured and safe for us to use and have our informations there, such could be found with the use of the blockchain technology system.

There aren't much services that provides anything without KYC. It all depends on who you choose. As long as you play in casinos that are well reputed, the chances are less of your data to be misused or mishandled.

There are services that are completely decentralized as long as you known how to search for one and identify such, this also depends on the field you're involved with the need of such, there's an accurate answer to every of your findings as long as you can look for them while searching.
1372  Economy / Gambling / Re: How does AI gambling sound? on: June 30, 2023, 01:26:31 PM
Gamblers are using this technology to predict the outcome. Generating an outcome on a luck game is not possible. Wherein you could ask an AI to predict the outcome of a particular sport. To an extent, a user of an AI platform needs to be knowledgeable as to how to use the AI. And should have the knowledge to the sports followed.

This is to show the level of how selfish we are that we will want an artificial intelligence device or system to help us in doing the task we are meant to carry out on our own, have we also consider of we are one of the operators of this gambling platforms, how are we going to feel or react towards a system that works against us from making profits, if gamblers could reason like this they wouldn't have much reason to insist onnthe ise of AI on areas not necessarily needed while gambling.

I haven't seen anyone being able to do it except a few. A lot of AI predictions are not based on stats and analysis as the user does not have an understanding of how to ask a question to an AI. I still believe it is worth the effort to do your own analysis and whenever you are confused ask the AI.

What the AI present to them isn't the accurate result of the real situation involved, they also brought out their own idea and opinion on the subject matter asked for, it's earlier the better that we realized what is ahead of us than depending on AI in making decisions for us.
1373  Economy / Gambling / Re: Loophole in stopping Money Laundering through Wagering on: June 30, 2023, 12:58:36 PM
So does this mean that there is a loophole here and the money launderers can easily by pass this wagering requirement?
The casinos shouldn't have more attention on money laundering because that's not their sole responsibility and when they try to introduce such control measures against money laundering, they may be loosing their customers at the cause of doing that and it may not be well enough for them to adapt on this kind conditions because they will record a low income due to reduced numbers of gamblers.

OP that's not a loophole as it seems easier to be down with your thinking than doing it practically. There is every possibility for you to lose one of your bet and since you're waging all your money that means you're staking big and one loss will lose you a big part of your money.

There's no moderacy in gambling and I don't think casinos can also get this done since they aren't forcing gamblers to gamble on their sites, they decided to place a particular amount of money to be used for gambling just as we have the right to spend our money in buying any item in the market without anyone giving query to the source of our money, same are these casinos expected to operate without being bias.

Casino can't ignore money laundering because they're required to report any defaulter they discover are trying to use their casino for that purpose. If they don't report and the culprit get caught and it's been disclosed that it was this particular casino they use, they're an accomplice.

I can't expect any casino to report any case of money laundering since it's for their own benefits for he gambler to use the money on their website gambling than for them to report him and everything went down to the hands of the government agencies and officials as loot, this is not to encourage money laund but there are agencies saddled with such responsibility and that's their own role to monitor such.
1374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you cheat in gambling? on: June 30, 2023, 11:46:13 AM
Most of the majority say that we do not agree. however, if someone has a trick to trick gambling, especially in this case casino games, slots and the like. chances are, that person will do it lag over and over again. because after all, psychologically we will find it difficult to refuse money that we can easily get. if, there are underhand tricks in gambling. And I know about it, or we have an insider leak from the casino.

It has alot of efforts required to cheat a casino and I don't really understand the kind of mentality some people w have developed and how wrongly oriented they were that make them to think about wasting their precious time on what will not last and they will later blame themselves for in future, should we call it laziness or greediness that's worrying our people in this generation where everyone want to get rich quick by any means, legal or illegal.
1375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Experienced Winning Bets By Upsets on: June 30, 2023, 10:55:42 AM
Winning have been our priorities from the very start and its the major reason why we engaged in gambling. Gambling and lacking confidence in that particular game, yet it turns out to be accurate and profitable in the end.

In what way have we ourselves define winning gambling bets by upset, is it when we are very lucky to have received a clue on the forth coming game and we take advantage of that through the influence of an insider or we are just so lucky to have won a game out of being upset (angry/annoyance) from someone around us at the cause of gambling that instead of making mistakes through that it turns out an intake for a win.

That is precisely what keeps most gamblers stimulated, and they are always ready to hit the system. Facts about the space state that when a gambler makes a forecast and it turns out to be correct, even if it is erroneous, they get more confident and begin predicting, believing that their statistics are so exact that they completely disregard luck.

The more we are winning the more is the confidence we have in gambling and to continue gambling, butbthe risk involved is that if we continue, the more we are likely vulnerable to loosing all we have acquired already, gambling is not that predictable for us but we try our luck out on chances and opportunities that comes out from it.
1376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Let's find out which gambling game is the most played among our community... on: June 30, 2023, 10:40:57 AM
The past days was always been with either sports betting and with slots nonetheless and I love them both but not spending more time with the latter considering it's easy to lose my balance. I really like sports betting, the odds and the likeliness to have good strategy could really meet if you knew what you're betting to (team, player/s, etc.)

Majority of the experienced gamblers would have tasted sport betting or slot betting before in the history of their gambling experience over years, apart from the fact that they are the most commonly played games on casinos, they were also found to be easier to play being compared to others, maybe one of the reasons gamblers preferred them is because of their odds and different skills and strategies you could use or develop in playing them.
1377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 30, 2023, 10:20:30 AM
If you are gambling with money that is meant for entertainment, whether it is going out with friends to a bar, a movie or any other, even if you lose every last cent, it will not make you regret spending.

Yes, that's true, there's no how you will be angry at getting yourself satisfied and being fulfilled because you have already planned it out  before time, but when the unfortunate occurs, that's where we make the wrong mistake on funds misappropriation for using them to gamble or have fun while they were not meant for such purpose, the objection here is not on gambling but on our wrong actions and steps towards gambling.

Before gambling, make sure that losing this money will not do you any harm. Then everything will be great.

And we must not act being foolish by thinking the gambling we are about to play is very sure for a positive outcome, when we bet and loose, we will not like the shape to where we are going to landed at, there's a way we can always avoid these through caution before taking steps or decisions towards gambling.
1378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between futures trading and gambling on: June 30, 2023, 10:05:04 AM
Gambling and trading are not similar. There are quite a few differences between gambling and futures trading in terms of type. In gambling, money is completely put at risk so the gambler gives up hope of that money.

If you're interested in trading and embark doing it without having the ideal knowledge in trading, I will assume you're gambling even though trading is not gambling, but what we do that present us far away from the chances of making profits due to the level of risk could be termed a gambling

There are chances of winning and losing the bet money. The amount of money a gambler will win or lose on a bet can be determined in advance. in addition trading is basically speculative. There the gambler can have no preconceived notion of profit or loss. Futures trading is also risky as it is highly volatile. Although some consider gambling and futures trading similar in terms of risk but they are different.

Since there are many other forms of trading one could engage doing amd it will not appear to be like gambling as in doing future trading, we can decide bitcoin trading base on our choice, everything we do is on the chase after making money to profit from, we also stand the risk of loosing while doing that.
1379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stop gambling (sports betting, casino e.t.c)? on: June 30, 2023, 09:47:47 AM
For a gambler who has experienced winning several times, it will be difficult to get rid of it because of the feelings he felt about gambling in a casino. Casinos have the most magic for players to make you feel and experience winning at a casino.

Let's just get this idea for once that either winning or not winning gambling is not what is that easy to stop doing, most times we will discover many people with long time experience with gambling get used to this on a regular daily basis and leaving without gambling will be a very difficult and unfinished task for them to achieve.

And when you experience winning, a player may think that it can be a source of income in their life and an answer to their daily expenses, something that they will not notice will be a way to lead them to addiction to it. Which of course is not a good result when that happens.

Or should we say because some gamblers have experienced several encounters winning steadily and think about making it a source to livelihood, while in some cases they were rather left with no other alternative than to embrace gambling at that moment in time to finds a means of living.
1380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ads for online gambling should be banned. on: June 30, 2023, 09:30:55 AM
Probably we could all have rise in support of ban on ads if it would have been possible bit it's something decentralized that everyone has to take decision on to do with or without, we cannot judge from our own end to ban it because we think it sucks on our end due to our preference wgile others may actually finds it very interesting to see, they will alsl use the fact that it's one of the promotional efforts to make in advertisement.
