1361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poloniex down for anyone else? on: July 30, 2014, 12:52:07 PM
Was checking out cryptrader a little while ago and it wasn't pulling any data from polo either.
1362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Poloniex down for anyone else? on: July 30, 2014, 12:47:19 PM
I haven't been able to access it either for a couple hours now.
1363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: TittieCoin TTC - The underdog of the digital currency community on: July 30, 2014, 12:38:29 PM
Stumbled upon this coin. Pretty humorous. Couple suggestions:

1. Definitely need to cut your total coins way back. 500M would probably be reasonable.

2. Introduce PoS. Will help with the node issue and keep interest alive.

3. While breast cancer was "noble", with a name like TittieCoin, it would never get taken seriously. Should have tried to align yourself with porn frankly. Granted porn is still skittish when it comes to crypto (due to the volatility), there probably could have been inroads with a coin like this.

Thread should be locked.  Hey. They should have a scam hall of fame and move all scam coin threads into it.  lol

Who's Wolong? Apparently he's "back" and the Uno guys think he might pump their coin given some coin movement they've noticed coinciding with that.

Re: Will EXO destroy Nxt, NEM, Node aka java crap?

When I saw you lump node in with Java, I pretty much knew you have no idea what you're talking about. Node is javascript, not java. And as far as performance, node beats everything else when it comes to comparing the amount of transactions you can process for the same amount of resources (assuming you know what you're doing). Course, unless you're doing something centralized, it wouldn't really be needed, but the fact is that node.js is the "future" for a lot of things on the net.

I wish I knew these sort of things about NODE but there isn't a convenient data sheet anywhere that I know of?

NODE (the coin), as well as I think Crypti are both being developed using node.js.. There is a link to the wiki page on NODE for info on node.js.. But yeah, both coins could probably do a lot more to provide details about what it is and why they're using it.

PayPal - "Node.js powers our web applications and has allowed our teams to move much faster in bringing their designs to life."

Ebay - "Node’s evented I/O model freed us from worrying about locking and concurrency issues that are common with multithreaded async I/O."

Cex.io - "We use node.js in high-load applications with complex run-time logic. Due to its asynchronous architecture node.js gives vast possibilities"

Linkedin - "On the server side, our entire mobile software stack is completely built in Node. One reason was scale. The second is Node showed us huge performance gains."

And I could go on.

Far too much bickering going on in here.. The dev seems to have made it pretty clear he's in no rush, he's in it for the long term.

Qora is still 17th in terms of market cap on bter which, IMO, is pretty damn good considering the 10b supply. None of the others (can't really count Doge) have anywhere near as much supply, have been around longer, are the latest rage due to promises of anon, or are being hyped a lot.

Anyone else able to get to poloniex? Can't seem to connect to it for some reason.
1369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Update Now to 0.9.5 wallet on: July 29, 2014, 01:32:48 PM
Particular strategies would probably help us market UNO, too.

If you find that mythical Fountain of AltMarketing, please let me know.

Really like that this coin is so rare and was going to ask where I could find a marketing plan. Guess there isn't one. lol. I would think though that with it being so rare it should be "easy". Had noticed some company making "real coins" loaded with some value of certain cryptos.. Perhaps something along those lines catered to people with a lot of money looking to collect things. Can't really see this coin ever being used for commerce, but things like that might work.
1370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Qora is scam, just NXT clone, developer run away! on: July 29, 2014, 01:16:27 PM
Qora is interesting, it's repeating the path NXT followed, but on a smaller scale. Should NXT fail because of a fatal flaw, Qora could be one of PoS backup cryptos, as well as NEM and Bitshares. These three will compete for 'Litecoin' status of the PoS world.

I stared this thread to buy cheap Qora. I bought over 30m under 30 sats!

You're dead wrong about Qora being a backup to NXT. Firstly it's very very likely that Qora is BCNext on his next project. Plus Qora is better than NXT. The address is system is more secure, the wallet is far more user friendly and we will soon see how great it is in two weeks when AE is finished. It will take the developer two weeks to implement. That's about 5 times quicker than NXT with many developers. People so far are alsleep to Qora which is cool by me as I'm more concerned with accumulating.

Qora is not based on NXT, NEM is nothing more than a hyped re-write of NXT. Qora is better than NXT, the best always rises in the end, you'll see. FYI Qora project was started before NXT was released.

Now you have your cheap coins and have changed your tune. Perhaps you should change this thread's title to "Qora is not a scam".

He should lock the damn thing as well.. It's not going to do himself or anyone else any good at this point.
1371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][USB][RELAUNCH] USBCoin | POS+Block Validation | BitTrex | Post-Mined on: July 29, 2014, 01:13:11 PM
This is so strange. I don't see the purpose behind relaunching this other than for those that got screwed to maybe get something back. Beyond that, I don't see what future this coin could possibly have.

Precisely, we get a market to trade our bag of coins in again. I don't need to dump on nobody, I only hold 100k of them......bought at double-digit-satoshi range ;p  The goal is to trade them back & forth, all shtcoins are the same in this regard, you buy at a risk hoping you may get to sell at higher price quickly, before it's too late..that's how this game works.. everyone should understand this, or stay away from shtcoins..

Well at least you're honest about it. lol. +1
1372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty - Pioneering Peer-to-Peer Finance - Official Thread on: July 29, 2014, 01:10:50 PM
Anyone else getting this error when you try and look at asset trading. Been getting it for a couple hours now

"failoverAPI: Call failed (failed over across all servers). Method: get_market_details; Last error: undefined"

Update: Can look at a few markets but whenever I try and look at LTBCOIN/BTC (where I have a sell order), I get this error.

thanks for report. Just push a fix on github.

Does it still need to go live? Still getting the error.
1373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Launch August | 100% POS | New Source | 750 BTC goal is reached! on: July 29, 2014, 01:01:38 PM
This coin seems pretty interesting and I love me some node.js. But less than 2 weeks to launch and from the dev blog it sounds like there's a lot left to do. Yet people want early trading? Without there even being a real coin yet? That just seems strange to me. Sounds like a bunch just want to dump to get early profits. But what do I know, I'm just a newb on here.

That doesn't stop any other noob from spewing ignorance shrouded in insults why should it stop you? Cheesy

Spewing ignorance shrouded in insults.. I like that.. Thing is, I'm an outsider that's been looking hard at all this stuff for the last couple weeks. Have spent a TON of time reading various threads on here. What amazes me is the impatience of the community. They want coins on the market like yesterday. Little to no desire for anything truly long term. Why? Oh I don't know. Every single "newish" coin I've looked at (dozens by now) goes thru pretty much the same cycle. A nice big dump or two when they get released and few recover from it. Makes it pretty tough for anyone seriously looking to invest to find anything worth investing in except for maybe some old (> 1 year) coins. But hey. We'll all see in a couple weeks right?
1374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Winecoin - scrypt POW/POS NO IPO 100Million on: July 29, 2014, 10:40:28 AM
What are the long term goals for this coin? 6 months from now, 12 months, 2 years?

What is the marketing/promotional plan for this coin?
1375  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin on: July 29, 2014, 10:33:18 AM
X13? Nice cheat dev. Few hundred blocks solomined lol.

I do not understand...when i open the gui wallet i see that the splash is from darkcoin, so it should be x11. But you all say that with x11 miners tyou get all rejected.

I checked the algo and seems to me an x13. I set up the pool as x13, it get accepted shares, but not finding blocks yet. The total HR should be very low, so it's quite strange we cannot get blocks in CryptoSkills pools....pleas try to put some hash in it.

Yeah, looked at some of the source and it mentions DarkSend which I thought was a Darkcoin thing.. and some of the other comments in there seem to indicate it's X11 as well.

This should be fun... block reward 66.66666666? Maybe you should have just went with 666. No plan, just do a coin for fun called "SpreadCoin".. As in bend over, spread wide and take it deep? lol

I downloaded qora v13. It doesn't work in MACOS.  Sad

Don't know much about Macs, but that almost looks like it can't find the libraries. Did you set the path to them when you invoked it? Again, not familiar with Macs so don't know how you would do that.

1380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: alt coin markets looks more and more like a scam circus, how to save it on: July 29, 2014, 07:14:50 AM
Don't know why people blame the exchange for their own actions. While the exchanges should do more diligence, it really has to start here. Someone has been trying to start a campaign where only people with some huge activity number can announce new coins. I personally think that's ridiculous.

However, there's this other very large forum I frequent and no one is allowed to post a service on there unless a mod has first reviewed it. IMO, if this forum introduced something like that, and that a coin had to go through a beta phase first, with a code review and live block explorer before being allowed to launch on the forum, I think that would cut out a lot of the scams.
