1361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you want to play on casinos without KYC requirements? on: November 13, 2023, 11:50:57 AM

5. KYC requirements can be used to restore accounts after it has been hacked. (Using the documents that were used by the original owner)

7. KYC requirements can be used to reduce gambling addiction. (Identifying people that self-excluded or people trying to create new accounts)

I think for a reasonable, responsible and honest player who keeps to the rules of casino would not bother about all those points that you raised because he never tries to beat the house illegimately, so he doesn't concern himself with all those scam and money laundering whatnot. Therefore, he is to play genuinely but only fears his privacy disclosure otherwise whether KYC or not, he should fear nothing and is why he would consider the points above.
1362  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: As e dey hot, MTN clear debt owned by their users on: November 12, 2023, 10:05:11 PM

But one thing i go let una know say be say MTN no fit do something for free to people because I know say e get another better place them wan use milk am from people wey them help clear debt, don't be surprised say them fit dey charge am from every calls wey una dey make without knowing the reason why una airtime dey quickly exhaust make una fear them oo.

No be lie. I still doubt say dem withdraw people debt wey dem own them abi na to clear their debts because MTN no dey give person free stuff and so I no go surprise if them slightly begin charge those people higher during calls. We know say Nigerians gullible no be small and them no dey check to monitor the amount wey the calls be. So it is very possible them fit increase their tariff to take back the debts.

But if them intentionally wipe the debts off, na for their own business strategy so that make people for begin recharge dey go and them go begin make fresh profit.
1363  Economy / Gambling / Re: QuitGamble.com - Free Help for Problem Gamblers on: November 12, 2023, 09:24:09 PM
It's so annoying when one is left helpless in using a casino when the contact system aren't giving the necessary attention to guide through.

It is mostly because agencies which are supposed to help people with problems like alcoholism, drug abuse, suicide ideation and gambling addiction are commonly unfunded, since most of them are non-profit organizations. That kind of entities mostly rely on donations and rarely get active funding from the government. So for example, of there are 100 people who are addicted to gambling and need counseling, the organization (in order to manage their limited services in a wise way) only hire 4 operators to take care of the questions and problems of those 100 gamblers who are seeking help.
The result is obvious, many (if not all) of those gambler will feel neglected by the system they attend to for help.
That is why I personally believe the most important thing to have when facing these problems is a good relationship with family and friends, to supplement the counseling one could get, public or private.

I think government has left much of the role of rehabitating addicts to NGOS. Government is said to be corrupt and can not freely handle organizations like that because money meant for such agencies end up in private accounts while affected persons languish in their own helplessness. Lately, it is the NGOs that have taken up such duties to cater for people who need such help. One thing about NGOs that is better than government in such case is that they have close contacts with the those affected unlike the government that seem far and ineffective because of corruption.

However funding is still the challenge of NGOs except those own by philanthropist and wealthy people then they can comfortably finance and take care of persons of such challenge.
1364  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Reason you still invest in BTC on: November 12, 2023, 08:32:25 PM
But truly oo the way bitcoin price take dey run go up lately even as people last two months ago don predict say the price go crash back go 15k still dey surprise me because normally the price dey drag towards the year before halving or e go kuku crash. At least we remember the crash wey happen for 2019 wey price touch around 3,500 before halving for 2020. But this year price just dey go up and next year na halving, this signify say market go sweet next year and 2025. Buy hodl hodl and hodl.
1365  Economy / Economics / Re: India is the new economic leader of global south. And replacement for China?... on: November 12, 2023, 07:33:51 PM
One thing I know for certain is that I don’t trust the economic data that comes out of China. China constantly lies about their economic production, among all sorts of other economic numbers, and I simply don’t trust anything that comes out of that nation. They’ve had an economic issue with “ghost cities” for well over a decade now which is majorly hurting their economy and it’s something that aren’t super open about. I could definitely see India taking over in the east.

Moreover they are being associated with substandard products and it has flooded the market making people to spend more in multiple buy because such products that are substandard get spoilt or condemned as quick as possible making customers not to get optimal utility.

However, China is not an emerging economy like india, they have grown their economy somehow whether we agree or not or whether they falsify their economic records. They are still larger than the India economy which is still emerging with potential to also be classified as top economies of the world.
1366  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there still hope for the price of BTC to hit back $69k this year? on: November 12, 2023, 07:01:04 PM
There is a quite possibility to hit $69k in this year. We all know the movement of Bitcoin right now. What happening in the Bitcoin price movement. You cal see the prise of Bitcoin suffering to reach $30k from last four months. The correct price of Bitcoin is $29.5k something. If the price of Bitcoin don't hits $69k. There is a high possibility to reach Bitcoin price high in the next year after Bitcoin halving. We all are aware about Bitcoin halving and we all know what helped after Bitcoin having. The Bitcoin price go up after halving. If in this year the price of Bitcoin don't hit $69k. Then the next year the price of Bitcoin aftar halving surely goes up. The predictioner of Bitcoin the predict the prices of Bitcoin will go up to $100k after halving. We all know what helped in halving so let's see what happens in future..
We still have 2 months to go before this year ends, and I'm quite optimistic that if this market will continue to be stable, then it will not be surprising to witness bitcoin price back again in $69k. After all, we all know that the last quarter of the year is probably the most exciting months in bitcoin, so if this will be granted without seeing more of a market crash or correction, then it's never hard to achieve $69k or more when this year ends.

However, on the second thought, there will be more positive price by next year if ever $69k will not be achieved this year. Most especially that we are heading into bitcoin halving, then there will be more probability for bitcoin price to achieve a new heights, we just have to be patient and trust the process.

Certainly, I don't think it is realistic now that  we are one month close to the end of the year and moreover in the history of bitcoin I have not withnessed the ATH broken just before another halving. It is now getting closer to halving and breaking the 69k ATH is looking like an insurmountable task notwithstanding that bitcoin has rallied this year and especially this last quarter of the year. Therefore, our eyes should be on the halving and the bull run that will come with it while making sure to invest before the move get started.
1367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What impact does the BTC price have on your gambling habits? on: November 12, 2023, 06:00:48 PM
I don't think the BTC price will have any effect on gambling habits because gamblers are usually used to gambling without worrying about which direction the market is going. Bitcoin is generally a long term investment with good returns so it is better not to risk gambling with such a valuable currency. If the bitcoin market changes rapidly there will be no time to make a decision if you lose bitcoins by gambling then you will be disappointed if the value increases so it is better not to use bitcoins for gambling. Gambling always involves risk and the chances of overcoming this risk are very low this is why gambling itself, does not waste money like bitcoin.

It is not really about btc price increasing but it is that people value to hodl bitcoin more than any other coin because of it potential as an asset to make profit from while hodling it. I think the reasoning is if you can have profit from bitcoin while hodling it then why use it to stake as well, so that could be the reason to use other coins like usdt. It is more of a psychological thing than reality because if you bet with bitcoin and win you still get the winning value in btc.
1368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some things you should always avoid while gambling ? on: November 12, 2023, 05:25:58 PM

With good self-control, it will probably minimize the chances of addiction, for example, when they win there they immediately cash out not continuing the game because they know they will lose in the future if they continue, this is one example of self-control. And of course it will also provide good things for themselves.

Self control is one factor that can lead a gambler into playing responsibly because you take your time and do proper analysis before staking a bet and incase you lose, you are still okay with it and since you have not gambled as you can not afford to lose then there won't really be the need to chase back the losses but most gamblers don't have this good character of gambling.

Most times the case with gamblers is that after they win, they still continue to play at same day and unfortunately the profit goes back to the casino because indeed gambling is a luck game and the house edge always prevail. Luck seldom come.
1369  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What according to you should be the age to retire from gambling ? on: November 12, 2023, 04:48:10 PM

Fun is important, but so is keeping things in balance. Enjoy the present without giving up the future. Advocate for complete financial education to assist individuals of all ages in making important life choices and safeguarding their health.

Sure financial education is very important to our gambling habit irrespective of age. There is no age limit to being educated and to be financially prudent. To gamble irresponsibly is an inimical act that can take someone backward. The young who is gambling needs to be responsible to it and the old likewise need more pragmatism because old people even need money to sustain themselves since they may not be physically active to do other jobs incase their bet is lost and that is the more reason they need to manage their bankroll while they are gambling.

However, I have seen old people who are addicts and are high stakers as a result are homeless because they are greedy, betting with their life services. Financial education is very important both in gambling and our daily life
1370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you use bitcoin when gambling? on: November 11, 2023, 10:13:50 PM
I feel is a little bit waste to gamble with bitcoin when I'm suppose to accumulate it especially during this bull season. So I will prefer to invest btc by buying and hodling and not to use it to gamble. Although when you win and you receive bitcoin as winning, it gives you good value but to risk it away in gambling gives a second thought.

Another factor to consider is the fee for transaction. It is usually higher with bitcoin so using usdt makes it more easier.
1371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luck and skill, which is more important for gambling success? on: November 11, 2023, 08:36:31 PM
This depends on the game you are betting on. If you are on slot then you need luck to be successful but talking about soccer, to predict rightly you need some level of skill and that helps you to search properly on different places to check on the teams and their previous performance like head to head, recent win or lose etc. So that requires skill talking about soccer but again that doesn't mean skill is an end in itself, it requires luck also for some winnings to be successful to your direction.
1372  Economy / Gambling / Re: QuitGamble.com - Free Help for Problem Gamblers on: November 11, 2023, 08:19:11 PM

I will like to know if this is a professional consultancy service or just opinions and possibly methodology used on former addicts.

Most likely it is going to be a compilation of experiences of addicts and those who have been able to get help, of course about what they did to be free from addiction and gambling in general. Most of these service that is built on the problem of gambler's perspective are practical steps and strategies used by gamblers who have been affected earlier. I have gone through the link and it covers a very wide range of causes, effect and solutions to gamblers seeking help.
1373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do Owners of betting companies bet? on: November 11, 2023, 04:32:09 PM
I don't think there is a rule limiting casino owners or gambling companies to gamble or bet whether in theirs or elsewhere but what happens is that they are very limited in number who bet, or speaking from the offline game house owners I have known, they don't gamble or they don't do that much. They can forecast for people or contribute to the discussion on the likely winner especially in soccer. They don't usually bet because they see it as their business that they are running for profit and no need to gamble on it.

The funny thing again is that they are more enlightened on gambling and they consider the luck factor and not really about how good you are in forecasting or predicting even though there are games that is likely to be winning games. So they would prefer to stay out and benefit from gamblers.

So incase they are to gamble, sure they will gamble in there casino because of gaining the commission to his casino. They won't want to patronize other casino.
1374  Other / Politics & Society / Re: An easy way to overcome China and Russia on: November 11, 2023, 04:09:02 PM
The same authoritarian governments we talk of here have come together to form a front that can face the West and it's allies to challenge and undermine them using Brics which is growing at a fast rate as they strategically position themselves to take the lead role. And to make things worse Democracy today is a scam, too many shadow investors tipping the odds in their favour and apparently these guys with interests are coming from both the East and West.

Brics is a strong umbrella for those two countries in question and trying to armtwist them is surely going to be a dangerous effort.

Democracy is preached in the world but is not making the world any better both in economy and sociopolitical relationship and that gets me to view it as illusion. Many countries have been in war despite the UN and order organisation that try to bring government into one fold yet they fail to bring peace to the global space.
1375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some things you should always avoid while gambling ? on: November 11, 2023, 03:30:58 PM

and borrowing money to gamble will only double your losses , yeah there is a chance to win and pay the debt
but what if you lose? you need to pay that capital and of course the interest in due time and will continue increase the long time you
delayed in payment .like what you said the more you wanted to win is the more you attract losing as this is how my cousin lose her
house and Lot just because of addiction , he kept borrowing using her house as collateral and ending  the bank took the house and
lot and now he is homeless and feel sorry for His stupidity.

People end up this way when they are addicted. Addiction is a very bad and strong factor that ties one down and get them to retrogress in life. Both smoker, drunk etc and gambling is worse off because it keeps leading you to try more despite your loses.

Like what you narrated with your sister cousin who lost her house. It is quite easy to lose your property when they are used as collateral for gambling because there is no winning guarantee in gambling and so when you go to the bank or other individuals to get a loan in collateral with your house, it is as good as gone immediately you lose and can not redeem at the time of agreement.

So the lesson here is to avoid being addicted because it leads into improper and half baked idea and that brings you down immediately it fails like taking loan for gambling with your house as collateral. She is not alone in such an inept decision.
1376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A tip for staying resposible while gambling. on: November 11, 2023, 03:01:54 PM

the note will remind every time that how you earned that money, and if you are controlled and this tip is not very important for you them you can ignore it, but i found this helpful.
No doubt that slow and steady would get you to your destination but some people won't still adopt that style because we are made differently and we have different way we see things and go after them.

Nonetheless, emotion is what we should take strict decision about and not by using a symbol or something else as reminder of our decision. If we have decided and mean not to do a certain thing then that should be it. Therefore, there are people who would go back to higher bankroll when they have tried betting small amount and win then they would like to increase their staking power while the fear factor gets some gamblers off risking higher but there are those always staking higher no matter what loses they encounter.
1377  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: As bitcoin is rising what is your plans on: November 11, 2023, 10:06:01 AM
I think that my guess will be that the price can touch $40,000 by this month ending and after that we may have it drop a little as a correction is needed before the year ends. So if it doesn't happen this month then it may happen next month and we could enter new year with the expectation of bull from the halving. However, it is still a better decision to DCA now incase the correction didn't happen before halving. We may not see this range of price again after halving.
1378  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sad reality: some countries gamble more than they can afford on: November 11, 2023, 06:24:19 AM

But governments sure as hell are there to profit whenever a gambler wins anything, heavily taxing big winnings...

If government collect tax from the gambling of people in your country it means they are also suppose to use it in providing social amenities and support to the people. except if it is agreed that some social responsibilities from the gambling casino is going to be obligated also.

The money used in gambling to me is not a waste if government collect tax from it which is as revenue to the government. They only need to use it appropriately for the benefit of the people and that means part of the money used in gambling goes back to the society

Also, none of their games run on provably fair algorithms. And yet the government does very little to regulate them after having sold them a license...

This is unpatriotic. Moreover the government should be able to regulate this and ensure that customers are protected, fairness in the games of betting is so much needed.

What makes me even angrier is that these licensed casinos do very little to offer gamblers resources to play responsibly, and do nothing to educate gamblers about house edge.

Somehow these could be in TOS and casino will not be liable to customers losses when they bet. Afterall they are betting to win from the casino so they should be able to take the risk or play and manage their bankroll. If you can't understand the risk in gambling then don't gamble.
1379  Economy / Gambling / Re: Guide for newcomers Start a fun and profitable gambling entertainment journey o on: November 10, 2023, 10:23:59 PM

A lot of people need to have their first-hand experience before they will truly learn their lessons.

While trying to get that first hand experience, we also have to be careful and reasonable while doing a taste run because some gamblers only think of profit and not loses so such newbie can increase his stake to meet his greedy target which may eventually backfire in lose for him. At all times we have to gamble reasonably and protect our bankroll. A first time gambler should learn to gamble with what he can afford to lose and avoid having a bad first experience which will totally discourage someone trying to make up his mind to be gambling.
1380  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it Hold? BTC Targets $40,000 on: November 10, 2023, 09:00:11 PM

Although bitcoin ETFs have been one of the sure sole causes of this recent price the reason being that,  Bitcoin started increasing in price suddenly after the news of the ETF announcement even though it was later discovered to be false news but Bitcoin has refused to drop from that price behaviour since then and up until this very moment

Probably and from the look so far it seem the 40k price is looking as reality as bitcoin is jumping around 37k/38k. I think the next level is going to be looking up to 40k. I don't expect drop to happen anytime soon or before that range where we are just starting the month and there have been spikes taking price up in the longer hours which is possible that it could be sustained for the month to run out.
