141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tropicana, 3rd oldest casino in Vegas, shutting down after 67 years on: April 19, 2024, 11:48:01 PM
They should have kept it for historic reasons, tourism and  when its got that much history its like a movie set surely.  Alot of the history they cant state clearly because it would be mafia or some crime related surely and they dont want that ongoing implication so its all lost now.

The reasoning for old operations being lost like this is surely the ongoing threat from online and digital betting, people can bet on a phone now and its probably both easier and with more bonuses.  The old hotel with glamour cant keep up with newer innovations or at least its going to be alot harder, seems obvious this trend wont go away even if Im lacking on the exact detail; margins are being squeezed by increasing competition.
142  Economy / Economics / Re: Cash is not trash on: April 19, 2024, 10:52:22 PM
Carrying coins for legal tender will probably become disused in some countries.  The reasons being costs to transact and efficiency, coins have to be processed and moved physically where as any electronic payment is cheap and instant so the bias is quite heavy.  The biggest change will just be government led electronic and it might also improve security vs plain cash which can lead to some vulnerable people being targeted for that cash.

I heard a while back the total cost of making but also subsidies to produce the plain dollar note exceeds the value of the notes used.  Its a service to provide that cash that will probably be withdrawn at some point.   I heard of a country that just removed all cents or equal to that level of value from their system, the inflation over many years made that amount become pointless anyway and in accounting they can continue with it electronic only not physically processing tiny amounts.
143  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest on your dependants if you too must grow further on: April 19, 2024, 09:53:09 PM
Life is all about empowerment,  raising people up by empowering them. A man is considered to be a great man if the people around him are transformed by him.

Society only grows great while old men plant trees under whose shade they will never sit.  I forget who said that exactly but I never forget the words because they are absolutely correct.   That's an ironic thing about a rich society, it only really continues to be so while investing in those who are born with nothing.   That goes beyond families it has to be reflected in government, the monetary system everything really.

My phone has been off and they cant believe I won with barely any tickets, thats why they havent announced I won the Lambo I will keep hoping.     My plan for the notify to help my free spins number didnt help me apparently, I only got 1 ticket in that last offer.  I wasnt on the starting line waiting its quite hard to claim enough times to qualify I guess.
Notify does give a free WOF spin apparently.

I don't know about you but I buy when long term assets are trending up, like Bitcoin, not when the clear trend is to 0.

Over 7 years BTC has gone up a gigantic amount, everything else in crypto bar maybe ETH will look a far worse bet in comparison as a ratio though I can hardly regret mining ETH.   Go to the main sections of this site and you will find many people who absolutely have no belief in crypto development outside of BTC, it is literally all **** to them.

I dont find that useful or productive as a great many possibilities exist for development outside of Bitcoin.  It might even be true BTC would have been in trouble if not for the surrounding blockchains, I know I would have been worse off from transaction fees if nothing else as Im just a small player.

The majority of people are just pocket change speculators thats the world population really not all the focus on big money.   Hence I do find this token to be a useful project, it can serve people in quite a modest way its not that hard to justify.

The total market capitalization is the correct assessment not a headline price set against one of the strongest performing assets theres ever been. They are reducing the total number of FUN overall while BTC is still increasing its total base in a fairly small way post halvenings.   If that is true it should help tighten the ratio between the two and eventually help the price.  Price alone contains all sorts of noise and is going to lead to bad conclusions just set off market sentiment which by itself isnt value.

I see a spike at end of 2023, remind me what that was again.   Goto candlesticks and we are still within the range of that initial move and it contained far more volume then we've traded since.
145  Economy / Speculation / Re: Im new here but Im old trader i keep eyes on Market. on: April 19, 2024, 04:21:08 PM
Bitcoin recovers today quite strongly but its still negative by my measure because its falling from the weekly average.   Net over the week we remain in decline even though MA are not resistance theres been little attempt to trade above that measure.

Its already looking bad now as we develop into Friday close but things can change and it will be the weekend soon.  For the lows we need to keep 63k and highs are required to trade above 65k with some certainty.   Once established there we can form further gains from that base.

For now the message of weakness continues as a trend until proven otherwise.   We are only just beginning to resolve sideways range bound action into trend negatives so this can run for a longer time yet.
146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Anyone +18 Play Gamble? on: April 18, 2024, 11:59:26 PM
I have CSGO and a couple of the other ones and I dont gamble, you dont have to do that as part of the game its optional.   Even if you did want the vanity skins etc. you can just buy them directly rather then gamble for them.   The odds offered equate to a pretty high price hence its quite often better to just buy either direct or trade with someone else in way, there are many sites catering to people who want to buy csgo skins for cash and it works out far cheaper then a bad odds bet.  Some realize this and some dont I guess.
147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: "Jontay Porter receives lifetime ban from NBA for violating gambling rules" on: April 18, 2024, 11:40:15 PM
I know of similar criminal offences because it is criminal fraud to act that way but they have been taken back into the sport in a time below 10 years it might have been five even.   I dont think lifetime is the best option, getting caught at all is already as much deterrent as it can be.  I think ironically its better to reform people and let them back into playing in a cautionary way so they put their failure behind them and move on.

Its definitely a corrupting influence far too widespread, its not just the player but the entire chain of people hoping to benefit from corruption in this way.
148  Economy / Economics / Re: World need urgently decentralized kind of Fiat currency not USD on: April 18, 2024, 11:26:55 PM
Theres an obvious home advantage given by Dollar to its native country but even with that fairly clear the majority (of the world) still want Dollar to continue being used.  There are various international ties to Dollar as well as the trade done in dollar both import and export.
A new system whatever it is will bring disruption and at least briefly some trade will recede and be interrupted by any change to a new system even if it were better.   What is going to happen not by demand but sheer gravity will be a collapse and a replacement by some other system.   Most likely it will be FIAT again, some would expect commodity metals as the hot contender and central banks almost always retain gold as a very long reserve in the event of some kind of collapse, ongoing collateral etc.

IMF have a replacement for Dollar I forget the name immediately but its already in circulation but only within the central bank system itself.  China has contested the ongoing western bias that is apparent with IMF and also the world bank apparently, there are some Asia alternatives to this system.  There are quite a few details and dynamics and Im not the one to go over it all especially but still nobody knows the exact nature of what will replace Dollar and so this event is feared and avoided probably right up until it occurs anyway.

If we presume economics is a natural force not a division of politics Dollar wont last and the failure to repay debt is an ongoing sign of that plus there has never been a FIAT currency that lasted people arent reliable enough unfortunately.
It could be argued the Bretton woods agreement failed long ago, the engine stopped and we've been free wheeling ever since down hill some because of technology in my estimation and growth benefits that are no longer there now in some case.
149  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin pump|before halving on: April 18, 2024, 10:46:06 PM
It already went up is the more boring narrative to this kind of question.  Its a repeatable dynamic in that people buy the rumor or run up to the news event and then the news itself in this case halvening can be alot less bullish then people expected.  The problem is people expected too much, what we already had was the rise it rose because people thought it should in effect and we cant be too greedy over that occurrence really.

The future is not bleak, if you need some vision aid perhaps the long sight for this particular token is you will continue to use it with this site.  If you dont have that usage then it might be harder to see but its a big site with alot of users so I presume that future will continue to apply, the token has an ongoing usage within that framework.

If you are speculating against a 10 year trend and have decided to conclude it will no longer apply then your chances of winning that bet are not good.  I wont say you are wrong just the logic appears off and you must have supreme confidence in your reasoning.    This site is long operating and established, Im connecting that to the progress of a token price as it does seem connected and seems a fair conclusion to me.

Trends do end, thats a fair take also but I'll need better reasoning.  Price is not sufficient reasoning all by itself, there is a big supply of FUN token thats all Im reading personally.   There is also a token burn in progress last I read.
In 2007 people said house prices never go down, they figured the trend would continue and it was incorrect; I dont mind detail if there was some just not  price alone.  I do worry thats how BTC proceeds sometimes, the price went up so its good to buy Cheesy
151  Economy / Speculation / No man stands in the same river twice, for it is not the same river and he is no on: April 18, 2024, 04:12:48 PM
No man stands in the same river twice, for it is not the same river and he is not the same man.

Thats an ancient saying quite true thousands of years, today we can apply it to the dollar FIAT value.  Dollar 2021 is not the Dollar 2024, they are not the same value or interchangeable which one day that will matter everywhere but for BTC the ATH from 2021 should not be compared too closely to the ATH right now as their values only match so much.

The main thing to consider is volume, which relates to resistance.   The people who traded BTC in 2021 want their dollars back, they have debt to repay and despite appearing we exceeded the old ATH price did we really do so in value terms.   This could explain some of this disappointing languishing price action in BTC.
152  Economy / Economics / Re: Which country proposed the establishment of BRICS? on: April 17, 2024, 11:59:52 PM
Brics is just a Goldman Sachs proposal for investment purposes.   The fact its still going as a recognized force of some size so many years afterwards does make that a good call but I'd not go all the way to talk about politics and other matters of state that Brics is a proper united organization instead of an acronym that's far more loosely considered.     An actual unification in any way is far harder to do & even trade agreements frequently fall apart, it can all just be talk.

China has regularly demonstrated in not just Africa but parts of eastern europe 'The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI or B&R), known in China as the One Belt One Road sometimes referred to as the New Silk Road' ~ its some way to establish and ingratiate itself into foreign economies in various ways usually via infrastructure projects.
A form of lend lease I suppose and of course within any lack of debt repayment on their terms they become the entrenched owners within those economies.   China is frequently blocked by more independent nations from such tactics to overwhelm a local economy with their own interests, its certainly not charity or good will they make such offers.

Remember China CCP is a communist force not a market based democracy they will not freely be offering anything that isnt of personal advantage for their national and military interests and Russia operates similarly.  If they throw you a bone look up for a cage overhead.
153  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for April on: April 17, 2024, 11:49:07 PM
57.9k is the target downside imo, a Fibonacci level and fair game now we've closed daily bars below 62k.    We are trending downwards now with a few indicators aligned towards that shorter term momentum I think is fair commentary at this point.

If we can close above 63k on 4hr and daily bar and hold there then perhaps we can turn around some.  Volume seems to help confirm the downward momentum is valid rather then a blip or a erratic pricing but as always every price needs confirmation on longer term time frames to become especially valid.

This current price action relates to end of February and if we were to continue negatively then the gradient could become more aggressive with a slip into the lower 50's and futher.  Im not certain that occurs this month as they are no doubt some buyers ongoing who are not put off by only a slightly lower price in the bigger picture view.
154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: April 17, 2024, 11:30:08 PM
Gambling every day does not lead to an addiction, feeling compelled might do but nobody is required to gamble by any need in reality or should feel they are required.   Sometimes an offer will encourage activity but I think that is optional, I would only advise people to maybe plan bets but you are required to place normal or same size on every day.  Sometimes you will be distracted or short of time and should reduce your size to stop any decline in your averages from non optimal plays.
155  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: April 17, 2024, 09:35:27 PM
I wouldn't argue to the death over it, not that sure but looking at BTC graph is looking like a dagger.  Ominously familiar though I remain positive further out, the volume also seems to back the idea of a sell off for this month at the least.
It can also bounce back and hit me in the face as a nice surprise too, there is usually a fight ongoing and you know when to be properly bearish when one side fights and fails in their efforts it is then in defeat that true ground is lost.

Anyway I notice there is a free golden ticket thing where you must claim as many free spins as possible to qualify.  Nice idea, however I get no pop up or ping sound to remind me so I often miss the hourly free thing precisely.  Not good for my prospects, my various anti spam counter measures are so entrenched I dare not attempt a defusal or DMZ for this particular site.
Instead I have Opera for its picture in picture features etc. also it seems it will allow the notify hourly so I'll use that to up my count for this contest I can but hope.
156  Economy / Speculation / Re: are you expecting Bitcoin to hit $400,000 after the bull run. on: April 17, 2024, 08:42:55 PM
When people are actually expecting 400k it kinda narks me off a bit because I know how damned ironic markets tend to be.    People expect 400k we will get 40k instead as a **** test, you wont get these stupid high prices without blood sweat and tears.   Despite what they say BTC isnt free anymore then anything else, it relates to form of trade, a steady supply and demand that can resolve to very high surprising prices.

Never expect good fortune be glad to be surprised, 400k I wouldnt even say this decade and it sounds ridiculous an idea for the next decade to me personally; however I know how dire straits the Dollar is in and EURO and YEN so I guess sure its a remote possibility involving alot of strife.   Not this cycle imo.
157  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC dip again? on: April 16, 2024, 06:47:18 PM
Its not exactly concrete in its fall, the momentum is questionable and wavering still.  I was just double checking and we have yet to close a daily bar below 63k in this decline, the price is just below 2 day average and sticking to that rather then in a free fall situation.

Its the start of a fall but it may yet catch itself and recover, still not sure on that.   Today might be the day, todays price action is submerged below even quite recent pricing from a couple days ago.

If we do not lose this point then it was only ever a ranged trade, we just repeat and correct attitude then would be bullish as we are bottom of range and presumably set to repeat a return to top of that range which is enough to be positive on.    Space for that consideration is with the weekly average at 67k, we have leeway for BTC to just wander and drift about confusing people Tongue
158  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: April 16, 2024, 04:10:52 PM
Wow the price of fun is eight now, last time I was around it was sixteen.

Good time to buy. Anyone think it'll go lower?

Not especially lower, there is the price in BTC and also the more level price in dollar or cents to consider.    This question is in majority a play on Bitcoin itself and its direction, we do seem to have weakness apparent in the price hence FUN price has no pressure on it especially to appear lower in sats price.

The wider question for me is do I continue to lock when I can and I think yes all time frames upto a year to lock is a fair idea, I dont want to depart any time soon and I still appreciate the benefits so thats the view for me.  Its not quite out right speculation as an answer because there is this idea of a yield to holding.   BTC overall I think is ok but near term its selling some are taking profits same old story.

So I'm made up on monthly price bet, negative is a fair bet rather then the whole boxed in price ranged movement occurring.   That would have placed BTC higher then now but it does seem we have a trend downwards and I will stick with that view so long as we are below the 50 day average.

The caution to speculative bets I would add is advice I received from proper full time traders, direction of a moving average is the strongest indicator and 50 DMA and 200 DMA are rising so remain positive on that full time frame.

A common misunderstanding, think I thought similar at first too.   You found this thread now though so post here first and if its common we catch you up with the solution or explanation pretty fast.

I am 100% certain that I will pick the money option

Money yea probably but my idea was why not both.  Take the cash and in many places you can join a special super car rental club.  That option isnt cheap but its probably still less then insurance and the garage and repairs and tax on an expensive car like this.   Biggest reason also why is you may have the car but do you have the roads to run such a beast.     I can get access to track time but its not my track so most days that means just ordinary roads full of traffic, full of cars going the wrong way against you which is stupidly dangerous at speed and in a new car.   You can be rich, you can be lucky but you can also just be dead after you try to run such a fast car on normal traffic filled roads.

I do prefer the option of track days with training, with all the gear the helmet the good wide road no near kerb obstacles or oak trees to die in collision with.  Just cars going in the same direction, driving is hard enough at 100+ thats the way to own a supercar really.    Dont do a Paul Walker, I remember and respect anyone can die that way easily.   I dont care about driving slowly and waving to people, can buy a fancy slow luxury car for that also they get cheap fast as garage bills discourage secondhand ownership; Maserati for example very nice.

The US abandoned the gold standard in 1971 because they didn’t have a choice.

The choice was to reduce spending and repay debt as required, that means a budget surplus which is hard for any country to do.  The choice made was sound money was no longer useful to a country with a dominant position.  The origins of the gold standard was when USA was still a new country, in recovery from 2 major wars including the civil war as well as actually settling a large continent with few people at the time so sound money was required not optional.
