142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: April 12, 2024, 02:39:12 PM
Now in countries where religion is the law, then gambling is prohibited, people will gamble in secret because they fear criticism and punishment.
I wonder how the police will uphold the law if they play online casinos or something similar. If they are playing offline in a risky place, I can imagine someone will report them and the police will arrest people, but what will they do if they pivot the money to overseas casinos? Even if the banks can track the money, I'd imagine they don't necessarily need to report the users unless the transaction's value is really big.

I do know one or two gambling spots in my area. Most of the players don't seem to be ashamed when they visit them, even though it is illegal if we look at the regulations. I wouldn't be surprised if the police are involved in one way or another judging from how they behave.
143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling A Hobby? on: April 11, 2024, 08:54:50 PM
I know a person who loves to do sports betting, but against his friend and the prize is not money. Something like "the loser needs to buy the winners a dinner for a week" or so. If that's what they like to do, then I guess you can call it a hobby. He's not so 'addicted' that he makes bets with everyone though. Only occasionally and whenever there's a big match coming up. Hard to say you can say the same thing if you play at a casino or something similar unless you bet really small and once in a while only. If making money is your goal, I'd argue it is close to an activity like trading or making investments instead of a simple hobby.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Claw Machines: a category of gambling? on: April 11, 2024, 08:17:45 PM
Btw, all that video gaming stuff (skins, loot boxes, purchases to get extra strength over regular players) does not defined as gambling (at least from what Ive heard). Its in-game purchases. Even though players pay real money to test their luck.
I think it depends on where you live too no? Some countries are strict with rules related to microtransactions and as far as I can tell most gamers seem to agree that gacha or loot boxes in general are a form of gambling. Skins or in-game cosmetics should be different though, since there's no randomness over there. I believe claw machines are quite similar to skins in the sense that the randomness is not as big as others, or exists at all. I do agree that it still has gambling elements regardless of how people justify its existence and placement in public places.
145  Economy / Gambling / Re: CryptoFreebie.io - For The Players on: April 11, 2024, 07:16:44 PM
Yes, there are users from time to time that have negative experiences, but no casino just bans people out of the blue or confiscates their winnings.
We know many cases where users just blatantly seek out to destroy a casinos reputation because they have lost a decent chunk of money.
Is it worth your time to tell this to your visitors if they visit troublesome casinos from your website in the future though? I mean, if I were you I'd rather put a disclaimer that listing doesn't mean the casino is good and the users should research on their own. You can also add some remarks if there were serious accusations related to a casino listed on your website so the users can use that as a blacklist.

People are hard to please, and if they find some annoyances they can shift the blame to you easily which will take time and effort to make sure it won't grow out of control. Not to mention if there's a fake review or something similar, the accused casino should be the one to explain or answer questions from customers, not yourself.
146  Economy / Gambling / Re: Nextslot.bet - Random Slot Picker on: April 11, 2024, 05:34:04 PM
Did you block certain IP ranges or VPN services? I tried to visit the website but I got a 403 error. If that was the case, your filter is a bit aggressive since I managed to visit other websites easily, even though they have aggressive anti-DDOS policies. It could also mean your server has a credential issue if what I read online is correct. I'm using DNS encryption but I doubt that is the cause. Maybe you could take a look and change some settings on your server?
147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you avoid some games because of racism? on: April 11, 2024, 02:05:14 PM
why is the club always winning it seems that home club have more advantage even in prediction you will see that Hometown always have more chance of winning and people always play home win I really want to understand why it’s like a statement that was made the same question,
I think this is the wrong thread to ask about this. You should post this on a football discussion thread or something similar since the topic is quite different. Unless you want to discuss some racism issues that happen more in home matches of certain clubs, I think your post will be out of topic. I don't recall hearing such cases though.
148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 10, 2024, 02:13:05 PM
Bayern should forcefully fire him instead of letting coach Thomas Tuchel lead until the end of the season as planned. Bayern has nothing to lose, so the management could risk everything again and hire another coach. They still have one title to strive for: the Champions League.
Who would you hire to replace him though? As bold as the management is, hiring some random dudes is not gonna cut it. The fanbase will just riot if they randomly hire someone just because Tuchel failed to win anything. On the other hand, no experienced manager would take this job unless they got some great benefits such as no punishment even if they failed to win anything or finished in the top 4 in the Bundesliga. A new coach will probably bring short-term improvement but it means nothing if the players are also problematic (can't follow the tactics, have some behavior problem, etc). I think hiring a new coach after the season ends is better for their long-term benefits. Missing out the Champions League final this season should not be such a huge price to pay for that imo.
149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you depend on game predictions by supercomputers? on: April 10, 2024, 01:44:08 PM
Will I use AI to plan my bets... for sure, because it forms part of my research to quickly process the mass of information that are out there. (Example : Question : How many games have Manchester City played against team X and how many of them have they won in the last 2 years.)
I will be surprised if people think data collected by instruments are unreliable unless the instrument is faulty. Most of the time they just blame how data is being misrepresented or abused to suit one or two narratives. Personally, I won't use AI or any tool to blindly ask how likely is Man City going to win the title without adding more detailed indicators. For example, whether the team is similar to the past or not, whether the competitors are the same, how their form in the last 10 matches or so, how's the point progression compared to the seasons before, etc. I mean, you can't say these stats are that meaningful when they swing wildly after a game is finished since you can't really quantify team motivation, interpersonal relationships, etc.
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in casinos: Still a thing? on: April 10, 2024, 01:14:56 PM
Also maybe people plans to operate this needs more since a lot of factors need to consider since a lot of funds needed especially if you need to have good marketing campaigns to introduce your casino and funds for casino winners is needed so people will never get an issue when claiming their price. Lastly the money to spend for prize for contest you held since this is needed to make your casino attractive or competitive to other casino. A lot more need to look after and for sure that to be successful on this business those casino owners need also to spend a lot of money to catch the interest of people.
That's some interesting figures, so for online casino, we can expect anything between $100k to $3 million then? Maybe any casino owners can give some input on this but those figures sound big that I doubt any smart business owners would just start their business and expand it without any spare funds and rely on secondary products like investment from the players. Maybe I'm wrong and the cost to expand is actually small, but then you have to wonder why they'd need to offer high rates for its customers to begin with. I'd feel more at ease if their profit-sharing option is not that aggressive.
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in casinos: Still a thing? on: April 10, 2024, 12:34:02 PM
We really never can tell, and for a casino company that might have been existing for years now but is not that popular for the main time might need little hand in terms of funds in order to keep their maximum winnings or withdrawals on the high side and meet up with their competitors, this staking with a higher reward (15% annually) might also be another marketing means to bring in people to the casino.
I wonder how much money is required to run a casino sustainably, but I believe a good casino platform doesn't need a lot of money to run and expand its products. I'm also a bit wary of any casino or platform that offers ludicrous investment deals and use it as their main expansion source. If they've been on the market for years, then they should run more marketing campaigns to grow and try to offer more unique products if they want to expand, not relying on an investment product which should be a secondary product of a casino. Shouldn't they get a lot of profits since they usually have a better edge compared to the players? Do shed light on this since I'm not familiar with the ins and outs of a casino business. Judging from how casinos run signature campaigns on this forum over the years though, I get the impression that investment from players are not their main driving force.
152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Story of my life on: April 10, 2024, 11:47:28 AM
I think I get what OP is feeling, even though it is not necessarily related to gambling activity. I used to play a game regularly, and I get the impression that the more I play it, the more I get unlucky with drops, etc. I think recency bias affects how we perceive things too. I also feel the same with gacha or any game with gambling elements. It might not be similar since you can argue that gacha games can rig the rates, but you can more or less say the same about any platform really. Maybe take a break regularly, especially if you want to avoid any addiction that might eat you further.
153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Local/Traditional Gambling Spots on: April 08, 2024, 11:45:01 AM
But at the end of the day, it's quite true that when older people gamble, and in my opinion (I'd still die on this hill lol) when no organized gambling facility is involved, they can have fun and enjoy the atmosphere without looking for profit or to one-up the other guy.
What is your definition of an organized gambling facility? I saw some news about fights between friends after one of them lost a gamble to the other, and the game they played is similar to horse betting but they don't buy tickets at casinos, etc. Basically, I believe whether they gamble through a gambling facility or not, if they have terrible personalities then everything can go wrong. I had experience with traditional games and playing against old dudes, and believe me when I say one of them can get salty even though there's no money involved. Imagine how bad their tantrum would be if we bet something on our games.
154  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [List] Dompet Bitcoin - Wallet Sofware on: April 06, 2024, 08:01:11 PM
Oya.
Agan pake ISP apa?
155  Local / Topik Lainnya / Re: Diskusi Timnas Indonesia on: April 05, 2024, 04:26:39 PM

156  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Platform Exchanges Di Indonesia on: April 05, 2024, 04:04:38 PM
157  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Becareful with telegram wallet! on: April 05, 2024, 02:49:19 PM
It's a sad story...I don't know how it is now, but before telegram gave you the opportunity to attach mail to your account. Is there perhaps a way to restore access via email?
That option is only possible if he already registered an e-mail, but it's unclear if they can recover that if the phone number is banned. I find no explanation on their support page and the chance is likely slim[1]. CMIIW. At the end of the day, shouldn't have used a wallet like this to store money regardless of how popular the app is. Hopefully, OP's friend will learn the lesson and use better wallets for the future.

158  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Post Bitcoin Halving - Rewards, And Risks on: April 05, 2024, 02:31:01 PM
If you want to contribute to the community by doing some marketing, there are tons of ways to do that other than exposing how rich you are. Contributing by supporting the development of Bitcoin Core by donation for example is more meaningful than this, or if you want to attract retails you can just buy ads or run a website for education purposes. I guess that's just too much for some people, so they opt to show off since it is easier.

Personally, having another intelligent writer who can educate people through their books or social media is better. You can gain some following, yet at the same time can be low-key. You can even do this by being anonymous/pseudonymous, as long as you're careful and don't use anything related to your personal info with your new account. CMIIW.
159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mispadu - banking trojan and infostealer target crypto exchanges across LATAM on: April 05, 2024, 01:36:11 PM
Therefore, I think that it aims to collect more data about users than stealing their balances. It is better to have a separate device that you use it to conduct banking transactions/connect to cryptocurrency exchanges and not to click on unknown links or download any file.
Based on the article above, the main payload allows the malware to collect data from browsers and e-mail messages. So the goal is definitely to steal sensitive data. 2FA might help but if they use a browser add-on to manage their 2FA it might be useless. Not to mention if the services they use only support verification from e-mail messages. Using a different device to manage 2FA probably helps a little bit, but it is still a waste since your passwords and other sensitive data might already be in the attacker's hands. CMIIW.
160  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Apakah Kalian Menyimpan Bitcoin di wallet pribadi? on: April 04, 2024, 04:29:07 PM
namun justru terjadi masalah seperti:
