521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible to mine bitcoin with my laptop? on: November 30, 2023, 01:19:44 AM
the goal is to understand how mining operates without having to buy electricity or an ASIC.
What kind of understanding are you trying to achieve here? The steps to run a miner, including setting up your wallet etc, or just the general idea of how mining works? Have you tried checking some tutorials on YouTube to see how they do it? I'm pretty sure there are other articles related to how to set up a miner for each miner app/hardware too.

I'm not sure why you need to do it yourself to understand how mining is done unless you're the type that likes to do stuff on your own following a tutorial to understand it. I believe the testnet method is the best choice for you (assuming your laptop is properly cooled), although, from your post history, it doesn't look like you're familiar with the specifics yet. Hopefully, you'll be able to learn and understand it quickly. CMIIW.
522  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Uncomfirmed Transaction on: November 30, 2023, 12:31:58 AM
But checking from people's comment, I would have double spent. If I had deed that.
If you're referring to RBF transactions, then there is nothing wrong with doing it unless you send it to some payment processor that doesn't support automatic transaction detection. At worst, you need to contact support to manually process your order, but they won't ban you for doing something like that. Most of them require at least 1 confirmation before your order is considered valid to begin with. CMIIW.

I recall Blue Wallet supports RBF and CPFP though[1].

Emang kebutuhan agan kayak apa aja?

524  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Report scam (free of charge) and support investigations on: November 30, 2023, 12:11:50 AM
Your site shows some statistics but I can't check the details. While the sats look impressive, it is hard not to be skeptical if there is nothing available to verify. The cooperation part is also just too broad, I guess you don't want to provide all the details publicly?

What do you mean by wallets found? Does it refer to lost wallets or something else? I think it is misleading if it just refers to a list of address that belongs to one seed/private key since tools like wallet explorer is available.

What is your relation to this company btw[1]? The address that you used is their office address. As far as I can tell they are a website developer. Do you share the same building or are you a branch of them?

525  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do we need to have a stop loss if we are 100% positive about a trade? on: November 29, 2023, 01:50:33 AM
Now, my main focus is on Bitcoin and a few other altcoins that aren't highly volatile as those useless shit-coins which exist for pumping and dumping.

Sometimes I use more than 20x leverage on Bitcoin but mostly I prefer to go with as high as 10x leverage. The 10x leverage on Bitcoin is far safer than 5x on any shit-coin that can move crazily. I know that the profits with Bitcoin trading pair aren't much as compare to others but the risk is minimum with Bitcoin trading.
But if you use high leverage, that doesn't really affect the volatility of the coin you trade right? Wouldn't that expose you to more volatility instead? I don't see why you would avoid SL altogether even if you're confident with the coin that you trade, since that confidence can't give you future insight to begin with. It is a also bit unwise to think that by conquering fear you mean not using any risk management tool available for you. I mean, you. can get fucked by many things other than wrong technical analysis.
526  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto resale trading strategy, P2P Does anyone trade like this? on: November 29, 2023, 01:28:56 AM
So you want to get more tips, but you also know a very great strategy to earn profit with arbitrage? I don't know man, sounds like you're just here to shill your paid group.

Anyway, I do know people who are dealing with P2P arbitrage. Most of them don't really do it for long though, unless you're using bots with a payment gateway that is quite fast. As far as I know, some of them buy some BTC when it is cheap, and then resell it when the price is pumping to guarantee more profit. Basically, P2P arbitrage doesn't seem to be their preferred strategy.

I second the opinion that Wise is not the best choice for payment. I recall reading how people's accounts got blocked because they used it to buy crypto on a platform that is not registered in the UK. I used them in the past to liquidate some of my holdings through my local exchange (direct deposit), but I won't do it again after their ToS gets updated. It is a pain to find a UK exchange just to avoid getting blocked. CMIIW.
527  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is freewallet a good? on: November 29, 2023, 01:14:45 AM
To protect users from being scammed, we ask you to delete application data.
I'm not sure who are you talking to here. Are you asking the forum mods/admin to help you submit a request to the Play Store etc to delist it? I think you'll find better luck by posting it on other social media like Reddit. You can make a new thread if you need more votes instead of bumping this one too, since the topic is quite different already.

Alternatively, just follow what has been suggested above. A member already made a thread against them so you can simply support them.
528  Economy / Economics / Re: Inventing a job is better than finding a job on: November 29, 2023, 12:43:49 AM
One pro is that it does not require investment of personal assets. You are working for an organization and you will get paid at the end of every month.
One could argue that what you need to get a chance to be hired is your investment. Money to register for a new school, buy books to improve yourself, get a certificate, etc. But yeah, there is no direct investment required most of the time. Some jobs don't require a high skill ceiling, but the payment and competition are insane. Probably just enough to get by without saving anything every month.

Personally, I'm trying to fund a business since I have some spare money. Finding the right people is quite difficult tho, since I need to consider how trustworthy they are. I'm thinking of running a franchise on my own but my personality and health condition are not suitable to do it right now. Hopefully, I can improve it soon so I can dabble in some business here and there.
529  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's Impact on South Asian Economies. on: November 29, 2023, 12:27:47 AM
Here in our country, the majority of people are usually in civilized areas; only a few people know about Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in the provinces here, to be honest.
Are you referring to rural areas? I'm not surprised if people who live in the countryside don't know much about crypto, or even the latest tech in general. At the very least, in my region, those who live in rural areas don't really have any incentive to research more unless they want to increase their living condition. Most of them will move to the city though since the internet is not really good and quite expensive for them. Those who know Bitcoin without moving to a city are quite few, probably know from their family or friends from the city too.
530  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: My encrypted private key touched iCloud on: November 28, 2023, 01:53:53 AM
Should I recreate a cold private key or my security was actually not too much compromised ?
Are you familiar with how some people lose their money even though it is stored in a cold wallet, and they claim they never store their private key online or something similar? I think you have a bigger risk compared to them, which for all we know probably make the same mistake as you did and simply forget them.

I remember julerz losing his campaign funds because his 'cold storage' was compromised and he needed to repay quite a huge sum. I don't think you want to experience the same thing, so you just do what others tell you.
531  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Best wallet for Android? on: November 28, 2023, 01:42:51 AM
I heard safepal become open source but I cannot trust coin telegraph. Also, Guarda claims they are partially open source. Thanks for providing the link.
You can probably check their GitHub to see the code. As far as I know, they don't fully share their code. Firmware etc is yet open, although IIRC the news said that it is ongoing and should happen in the fourth quarter. Heck, even their X1 still has nothing on the repository albeit being called the culmination of their open-source motivation. I guess what they refer to open-source is entirely limited to their wallet suite, whatever that is.
532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will transaction fees affect Bitcoin in the future? on: November 28, 2023, 01:22:07 AM
For now, a second layer seems to be the most viable option, though it kinda undermines miners whom are the primary workers of the chain as they receive less fees that doesn't incentivize them to continue running their machines.
If I'm not wrong, some side-chain proposals suggest merge mining where miners will also earn their coins/tokens when they participate in their chain. Basically, miners will earn their BTC fees plus the side-chain tokens to incentivize their participation. However, I'm not sure how quickly this will run into the same bottleneck unless they use a different algorithm for the blockchain.

Personally, I think we can take time and see which solution provides the best answer. While the recent spam on the network due to NFTs causes some spikes, it won't last long, just like what had happened in the past. Maybe it will be such a headache in the next 5-10 years so.
533  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: 47 countries pledge to authorize Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework by 2027 on: November 28, 2023, 12:58:56 AM
Nowadays there are still enough centralized exchanges without KYC and you can use them whenever possible. Of course, all of these exchanges have an agreement that they can require KYC at any time. I use them for small exchanges of a few hundred dollars if I need to sell something.
Yeah, I know about them. But most of them don't provide what I need (such as my country's fiat withdrawal, etc), which means I stick with local exchanges or P2P. So far they don't require any crazy KYC requirements so it is still fine for me. I think this will stay for a while. Probably be a year or so until the government introduces a new law, if any, since elections and stuff might bring new personnel to the government that have different beliefs from their predecessors.
534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Was This Client Kidnapped for Their Coins? on: November 28, 2023, 12:38:53 AM
This reminds me of when one of my friends suddenly contacted me, but then I realized the number had changed hands. Long story short, his previous number was suspended by his provider and then they sold it again as if it was a new number. I'm pretty sure somebody got scammed with the same method, although it is unlikely that a scammer targets some number specifically. The lack of security measures from the provider also doesn't help in this case.

OP, if the account really changed hands, it is possible that the scammer is doing the same thing and tried to log in to any social media/communication app and see if there's any chat history worth researching. If I were you I'd do what others have told you, just wait until he can prove he is the same guy with a signed message or something before you continue your deal.
535  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [NEWS] CZ Mengundurkan diri Sebagai CEO Binance on: November 27, 2023, 04:15:26 AM
Saya belum pernah melihat CEO Binance CZ melakukan korupsi, menyalahgunakan dompet pengguna, menjarah aset seseorang, menyalahgunakan pertukaran Binance.
536  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [Guide] Macam-Macam Wallet Cryptocurrency Serta Pro & Kontranya Untuk Pengguna on: November 27, 2023, 03:43:55 AM
537  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [DISKUSI] Bagaimana Cara Mewariskan Wallet/Bitcoin? on: November 27, 2023, 03:26:35 AM

538  Local / Marketplace (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [Gratis] Jasa Konsultasi Spek Komputer (PC & Laptop) + Diskusi on: November 27, 2023, 02:51:47 AM

Jadi standarnya udah jadi mata uang dunia kalau begitu kayak apa gan?
