I can't access my wallet at all. In my diamond appdata folder I deleted the blocks and chainstate folders like every other damn time the block chain messes up and still will not boot the wallet just Auto crash.
There isn't even a wallet.dat in appdata. After I delete the folders all I get is my original conf file. Nothing else
Far as I can tell there is nothing I can do here to access my coins. Pain in the ass as this block chain has crashed multiple times on me but this time I see no way of fixing it.
Any ideas anyone?
Download the latest version of the wallet https://github.com/DMDcoin/Diamond/releases/tag/v3.0.1 and use for launch 23. Q: Alternative way https://diamond-info.github.io/#q23-altwayAfter 100% sync, close your wallet and place your backup file wallet.dat with replace an empty file wallet.dat in the folder DMD. After that you can launch your wallet and your balance will be restored. I also recommend that you make sure that your system is properly configured and that automatic updates are disabled. Hi, that is a very important advice you gave there, separate of entertainment and crypto wallet computer! that is one layer that most of us don't do as of current time today!
i guess another security concern would be the home internet routers security, the network and so on. It also means that having a wallet on your iPhone or android phone is not a good idea at all, especially not if you use several wifi points for connections whilst out and about, hotels, busses, trains, shops, schools, airplanes etc, etc, although 3g and 4g is also hackable in todays world.
in time when people start to loose more coins it will become clearer that we will need more security! I think the thefts of crypto is going to explode or implode or it is already happening as we speak.
absolutely i like the wallet and POS earnings, just staked my first coins awesome stuff.
i will probably look into a raspberry pi to perform these operations from now on.
would you say that an exchange like bittrex is insecure or just a leave it as a bad investment because of no coin POS earnings? whats your take there?
I just gave the obvious advice, is not to store coins on an exchange, especially if a lot of them. |

hmm, interesting though. the exchanges might not be such a great storage place after all. You think Bittrex is a potential hackable resource in the future? i guess why not, nothing should be considered safe right! I am kind of against the computer wallet also, because there is so much malware out there now-days and most of us use torrents and other downloadable copys of programs probably propped up with all sorts of nasty stuff that could steal out wallets. not to talk about all the internet of things devices and software thats flying around out there with access to our computers and devices etc. its crazy. Best is a paper printed wallet,but tattooed onto the body bcuzz not even a paper is safe from destruction. hahaha, remember not to shower or go on the beach in a public place:=) ---- No worries, DMD holds its price in BTC very well, it has ever since they upgraded to masternodes, back in 2015/2016 we we saw lows down to 20-40k...now we are nowhere near that, DMD has good price stability in the long run. Cool --- true that, i love just sitting on some coins and see the rocket being prepped for the moon, of course DMD is going to become hundred of dollars not a doubt in my mind, what do you guys think? how far will it take off? saw bitcoin is moving now again towards 10 k. remember the time when people waited for 1000 dollars, last year around this time... You don't like computer wallets? DMD still brings good MN returns to its investors and decent daily POS earnings. Anyone who wants to earn able to find funds to purchase a simple laptop with a configured system. It is necessary to separate your computer for earnings from the computer for entertainment. This coin is a good example of why not invest in new (not time-tested coins). The purpose of puppeteers is the organization of the pump and dump. Just letting everyone know that as of today my purchase of 433 dmds from Cryptsy still hasn't shown up. I keep getting a generic answer that the wallet is in maintenance mode. It has now been 6 days with no resolution so I am not sure what is going on there. I would not purchase or deposit from Cryptsy until we get confirmation otherwise.
WTF?  Are you trying to mock us? A lot of users here lost a lot of money in the Cryptsy tragedy, me included. Why don't you find another place to play, another kind of jokes? Do not pay attention to this nonsense. It is obvious that this is trolling. It is only strange that the tragedy Cryptsy taught not all. I see that some users still place tens of thousands of DMD on Bittrex instead of keeping the coins in their wallet and earning income. |

I am not complaining... just frustrated.
They do have a nice website, twitter updates, the launch was within the expected launch time.
The main problem of WDC is that this coin has turned into a closed system for elected Asic miners. They mine coins and sell them. All other users just sit and wait for the pump to sell their coin balances. Now on the market there are coins which allow investors to receive a steady income from the purchased coins. Just look at POS and Masternode coins https://masternodes.online/ To receive daily income, you only need an old laptop. You do not need to buy Asic miners and mining farms, this is an open opportunity to earn money for any investor. Obviously, this is a more advanced technology, because it saves a huge amount of electricity and does not pollute the environment with hot air. Reforms were needed a year ago, when it became clear that the old WDC network is cluttered with garbage blocks and the blockchain has a gigantic size. Now this situation has become even worse, because it extracted less than half of the coins from the stated amount to 265 million. |

Ive been having trouble with my wallet for the past week. I thought it would be the usual fix for computer updating automatically and shutting down. So I went through and deleted the files in my AppData, but not the fix this time.
The wallet starts to sync, but freezes at some point and I've even tried to redo these steps with no luck. I have been stuck on 13 days behind" for two days now. Block 132029 with 23 active connections
I have the correct balance and I was able to unlock my wallet yesterday, but its still stuck and not minting.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Ok, seems to make sense, obviously when writing an article explaining this in Swedish, i just wanted to get as accurate as possible for potential future investors so they understand what it actually does and how it works. Could we clarify one more thing, so if the wallet or coins find a POS block, does that mean that the actual reward is the "generated" 2.26 DMD as of today specified in the block, so one gains 2.26 DMD coins to wallet? ive started staking about 200 diamonds myself that i moved over from Bittrex to see how it works, but nothing in luck terms just yet:) i saw the price increase to over 30 dollars, bought the coin around 5-6 dollars last year myself, had no clue it was POS coin, however it dont seem possible to understand what factors really drives the prices, for example today it was up 9 %, and then in one hour it lost like 4.5 % and now its down to where it started the crypto market is seriously unpredictable, i normally watch the volume increase, and that must be a good sign that DMD traded over 200 k today, some days are just around 10 or 20 k. Need as soon as possible to release a new wallet with a new code that would use the old purses became impossible, and it would make it impossible job of old wallets.
It has been done. Old wallets (3.0.0.12-16) will not work in the new network. it uses a different Protocol and the wallet stops syncing with the network after start. Any attempts POS staking on the old wallets will bring only orphan blocks. So it's just lost time. |

Anyone have a method/script or whatever to have wallet automatically shut down properly before an auto overnite windows update?
Woke up to a corrupted database when I went to restart wallet this morning,
as Windows did an overnight update and I forgot to shut down wallet before going to bed...oops.
Nice to see the wallet fix itself although, so no longer a PITA
Turn off automatic updates in services and no longer turn it on. There is nothing but new possible problems with the system. It looks as sleeping with the front door open. If you need to update it do it in manual mode, by creating backup of all important files. |

What about PoS? Has anyone successfully minted a block? My wallets try all the time, but the blocks never make it, just like the pool submit block generated PoW blocks. There is just no error message.
What do you mean by "the blocks never make it"? My wallet mints several times per day! Obviously I have several blocks of sizes between 200~300 DMD and some a bit bigger. PoS works like a charm, ok? I see that some users are talking about the old version of DMD 2.0 times they mention the phrases pool and POW mining |

Thanks a lot for that, however! I am going to try to explain this in an article and i still dont understand completely even after reading your answer like 50 times and analysing hehe funny! Its quite complex stuff and hard to put into simple terms and understand. its the dust part i dont quite understand correctly, so if someone has lets say 10 coins in their wallet and is staking active on the network. does the network actually give out a "find" winner per block 640 times per day in total? does the "dust" mean a wallet with 10 coins would try to gather "dust" in order to grow bigger? what does dust mean and where does it come from exactly? or should i just go fishing again? and try to understand differently? are we talking about coin blocks? hmmm when i see in the blockchain that each block has like 300 coins, whats the actual size in kb or mb per block, like 50 mb? whats the chances of someone with 10 coins in wallet finding a "win" vs someone with 200 coins?, and how big is the win? 2.5 diamonds? heh... my head is spinning now. all the best For do this, you need to understand how POS v3 works. I was wrong in the chain earlier, all downloaded and the wallet started to work.
Stacked block, all well except, the time of the block is the same on the wallet what was the time of the last orphan block. Small bug.
Stacked all, no more stacks, wallet can not lock, only by fully opening and locking the wallet locks. Small bug.
A little excitement and we have a better wallet again.

When you try to run mining farm, it is obvious that you have to go through a series of trials and errors before you set up your system to run continuously and your farm will not stop suddenly shutting down. hello folks, im experiencing issues with my dmd wallet and need help. first of all i found out that syncing is stuck 9 weeks ago. so i updated .CONF as stated on begining of this dmd thread as recomended. but nothing changed. so i tried to click wallet repair and there recover transaction 1 (nothing changed) recover transaction 2 (nothing changed) and then last choice on the same list - something with blk00000.dat. in that moment error notice poped up (in meaning that program /so wallet/ interupted working and must be terminated). now each try to run wallet ends with that error notice so i can only edit wallet files (not to do anything in wallet). please, if someone experienced here.. what to do, how to adjust which files to get wallet working and not to lose coins ? I thought that it is some bug but I lost some coins which was staked early. When exactly was this fork? So after wallet update I'm on right chain ?
Your wallet shows the number of the currently loaded block. This can be seen if you move the mouse to the bottom right corner of the wallet.  Check this number on the site https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dmd/if this number is different, use this instruction 18. Q:P.s We didn't have a fork, just your wallet could get the wrong blocks due to the fact that you didn't update your wallet on time (this was a mandatory update) |

My wallet staked over 50 coins in few days in march. It was confirmed. Yesterday I download new wallet version and all my staked coins are gone!
Could someone explain it?
If your coins were indeed found, they would be displayed in the blockchain. It is easy to check using the Block Explorer https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dmd/Otherwise you just got orphans. |
