141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Thanksgiving on: November 12, 2015, 11:12:21 PM
What if we coordinate similar efforts in several cities?

Someone in each city can serve as escrow and payment of the donations to the service.

It'll serve as a great charity opportunity and a coordinated effort to publicize Bitcoin...

I'd be interested in helping out.

DO you accept payment from any country or industry?

There's a company called Coinsbill that claims to be the only service to do so...

CoinsBill at the moment is the only Bitcoin Payment Service that caters to truly global merchant and sellers from all over the world, including the smallest countries. We accept all industries as well!

Account Activation is Instant. Funds are instantly transferred into Merchants Bitcoin Address after successful transaction.

Two options for easy Integration. An easy API for you, or enable in Checkout buttons with just a few lines.

With Recurring Subscription, there is an option to setup Recurrence Unit to Day, Week, Month or Year, and assign Recurrence Period for a number for the Subscription to renew under Dashboard, and  Payment Tools.

Pricing is 0 USD per / month. $0 Setup Fees. You will only be charged 0.19% + $0.29 per successful transaction.

This thread should have an ad that says "Paid for by Bitcoin signature campaigns!"

Of the last 100 posts, over 85% are from people with Bitcoin signature campaigns. What a pointless thread...just a collection plate for everyone to claim one post per day.

Let's let this one die! Most of us are better than that!

Which account earned Hero in 7 months?

To my knowledge that's impossible. It takes 480 days to earn Hero. I'm sure Theymos and admins can set activity levels if they want / need to so maybe some special deal was made for someone serving  in a staff role but not called "Staff" or "Admin".

It's hard to tell for sure unless you provide the name.

Well, check this out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1247903.0;topicseen
A newbie called "harryploppers" is selling a Hero account with 540+ activity. THAT is how you do the 'impossible'.

That link provides a "bad gateway"...you sure you sent the right link?

Should be receiving my casascius grades tomorrow!  Wink

Which Casascius coins are out for grading? What denomination? What year? Pics? Thanks.
146  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: All Natural Hot Sauce for Bitcoin! on: November 12, 2015, 08:42:58 PM
What makes this hot sauce the hot sauce or a hot sauce for Bitcoin?

To potential buyers, they accept Bitcoin through CoinPayments.net...looks like tasty stuff!
147  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Coin Collection | Casascius | Lealana | Microsoul | Cold Hard Cash [EU] on: November 12, 2015, 08:39:54 PM
Erik,

The Casascius coins are beautiful. I'm concerned about the date in the picture which verifies your ownership...it's 8 months old. Can you verify that you still own these coins?

Thanks.

Subscribed!

Thanks for sharing. I'm not much of a shopper, but if I do I'll be keen to check out the deals for Bitcoin Black Friday or Cyber Monday!
149  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: List of avatar campaigns? on: November 12, 2015, 07:33:38 PM
^ joining the coinut campaign may be a bad idea. There are people complaining they didn't get paid in the avatar thread. Some for weeks now. Don't know how the signature thread is going but may be safer to avoid it until they pay everyone.

The complaints aren't valid. Some are from people  that  never posted the minimum number of posts for the month.  And others are from people that have forgotten that the full month hasn't been reached yet AND Coinut promises payment  within 1 week of the period ending and sometimes they're a bit late.
150  Other / Meta / Re: Reputation on: November 12, 2015, 07:31:32 PM
A hero account needs at least 480 days of activity. So a 7 months hero account is impossible.

Many user does not want to work for their reputation but they rather buy a old and established account with a high rank.

Isn't that exactly what I said? Please try to keep your posts constructive or you'll lose that privilege to be apart of a signature campaign. Please don't ruin it for the rest of us!
151  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin halving to be canceled? on: November 12, 2015, 07:29:18 PM
There was much hype about the Fed raising interest rates in 2015, but we are still there, at the lowest possible level (wtf, it is even no longer the lowest possible limit). Bitcoin halving in July, 2016, is talked about as much, but will it really happen?

I ain't sure

Yes, it will happen, unless everyone stops mining bitcoin. Once a set number of bitcoins  have been mined the blocks are automatically halved. It's not some decision that's made by Janet Yellen or Theymos or Bad Bear....it's automatic. It was made by Satoshi years ago. It's a trigger in the coding!

When will always be a mystery, but if is not...once we mine to that number the blocks will be halved.
152  Economy / Economics / Re: [POLL] Will 1 BTC reach 1M $ comparable value in 10 years? on: November 12, 2015, 07:18:47 PM
I don't know about 1M $, but Bitcoin can reach $10k in 10 years IMO. I'm not saying to reach 1M $ in 10 years is absolutely not possible, but it is highly improbable.

Says the guy who's name is  "Bet Wrong"!

Why do you think this is possible? In the last year the price has only gone down! There's not a regular growth of price so something significant and unforeseen would have to happen to get the price that high.
153  Economy / Speculation / Re: There will only be 21 million on: November 12, 2015, 07:16:17 PM
If people continue to buy the price can only go in one direction long term.

Always buy, always hodl.

If everyone always holds bitcoin will collapse because a system of infrastructure and adoption won't increase to a level where enough people will want bitcoin to support the ever increasing supply.

Without bitcoin as a currency it'll disappear. Seriously. If you want to hodl, fine,  but don't encourage everyone else to!
154  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's happening! --- 3̶6̶0̶$̶ 4̶5̶4̶$̶ 502$ on: November 12, 2015, 07:14:05 PM
Re: It's happening! --- $520 $454 $360 $356 $312 $338  Grin

Hahaha, read my mind!

Fortunately, the only people really getting screwed by the price decline are participants in signature campaigns, who mostly took a pay cut and aren't likely to get it back.

155  Economy / Economics / Re: Crazy Calculator - Shows true reality on: November 12, 2015, 07:07:24 PM
This is a pretty cool processing fee calculator that shows the true impact Bitcoin can have on the world economy. https://thecryptostore.com/index.php?id_cms=20&controller=cms

The calculator is wrong.

It doesn't show time so it's impossible to understand scale. In the 1 minute i let it run there were $1.9M feels from our traditional monetary system and $0 from bitcoin.  I think that's completely wrong. Bitcoin ISN'T free. I get charged from Bit-x and Coinbase and others to make transactions. So this either shows how infrequently bitcoin is used (because the number for fees still says $0) or the numbers are wrong.

Also, what does pencils donated to city schools (now at 10,000,000 after 5 minutes, wtf?!), bottles of water donated, and people who could have been  sheltered, and villages fed have to do with bitcoin fees.

Why is the average American salary $0.14?

Forget this site, it's bullshit!

This is a nice graphic! What does the rest of the article from Business Insider say? Is it positive or negative?
158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Thanksgiving on: November 12, 2015, 06:12:22 PM
Will the money be benefiting families in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area only or also elsewhere around the US?
159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to earn at least $1 in BTC per hour? on: November 12, 2015, 06:09:16 PM
Earning a $1 an hour is pretty easy. What do you do for a living?

I realize that some people live on a $1 or two per day, so in those scenarios it's much tougher.
160  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk AVATAR Campaigns [12-November-2015] on: November 12, 2015, 05:37:20 PM
Please remove Fortune Jack's avatar campaign info OR put the correct link and details to their avatar campaign. The details you provide are for Fortune Jack's signature campaign - very different. They don't mention ANYTHING about an avatar campaign.

Thanks.
