781  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Making money off of internet bandwidth on: August 17, 2015, 08:57:19 PM
I should be going up from 50 Mbps to 1000 Mbps later this week if install goes well.  Should know this week hopefully.

Is there any way's anyone is making money off their extra bandwidth?  Just wondering if there is a way to monetize it if I do get the install later this week.

This should allow you to hit the faucets faster!

in any case the earning would be abysmally low, not worth it, it should be better for you to sell it privately to some one that may need it seriously

i expect a bigger reward if sold in this way

But Amph is right, the payments would be really low. If there were an established way to earn bitcoin by bandwith a lot of people would be doing it already. SO...if you figure out a way, tell a few of us here (because we're helping you with your question) and then figure out a system for enrolling others to earn money using bandwith in a way that gets you a piece of their action...that's how you really make money, by making money off of others. That's how all corporations do it.
782  Economy / Gambling / Re: Lets expose all the bad Bitcoin Casinos on: August 17, 2015, 07:50:05 PM
I start this thread so everyone can post his Story with Bitcoin Casinos here in the comments.

On my lost there are 2 Casinos that I will warn you guys about.

* www.bitcasino.io
* www. btc-casino.com

Please dont use them

Please post here your review about your worst online casionos here-  together we can stop those casinos by telling other people that they suck.

If you're going to maintain this thread I think it would be VERY useful to people.

May I suggest that you fashion the formatting and structure after the Overview of Signature Campaigns thread? Link here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0

This sample thread makes it easy to see which sites are offering which rates for signature campaigns along with the associated details of each campaign (e.g., post minimum, payment periods, etc.)

Good luck to you, hopefully you'll help some people from getting burned by bad casinos!
783  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Wants Undocumented Immigrants Out, Says Even Families 'Have To Go' on: August 17, 2015, 07:00:48 PM
This isn't an awful idea. It's the hard ass move, it would require a cold heart to enforce this and the uproar would be a circus for months. Literally finding people in the US and exporting them all would be a wicked "manhunt". It would, however reduce the burden on services, open up tons of mostly blue collar jobs for people to work, increase wages for those blue collar jobs (possibly), and have an indirect effect on prices. With fewer people buying every day things prices may have to go up for corporations to maintain their existing revenue levels.

It's akin to someone saying "no new debt" for a Country until the existing debt is paid off. It would be really, really painful but might put the country in a better place once it was all said and done.

I'm 100% against illegal immigration.

I'm also very much against Trump's arrogance and cheap brand. The guy isn't an idiot, he's an asshole. He doesn't deserve to represent a Country.
784  Other / Politics & Society / Trump misses the point with Immigration rationale on: August 17, 2015, 06:53:02 PM
http://money.cnn.com/2015/08/17/news/companies/donald-trump-mark-zuckerberg-immigration/index.html?iid=surge-toplead-dom

Trump released his immigration plan today, calling out Tech Sector CEOs that have lobbied for more H-1B visas (so they can hire more foreign works as engineers and such.) Trump wants to require the Tech companies to pay these workers MORE money, with his rationale being that the companies won't pony up the required high salary and higher cheaper domestic labor instead.

Trump says that there are plenty of graduates with degrees in science, technology, engineering and math, known as STEM, to fill tech jobs. That means that employers don't need H-1B visas to fill jobs, and are using them instead to keep wages low.

The tech sector keeping salaries low for H-1B visa employees? Uhhh, the exact opposite is happening! Every tech worker in Silicon Valley is making loads of money, much more than the average. H-1B visas aren't keeping wages low, they're keeping competitive advantage high for American technology companies!
785  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A simple poll: The future of Bitcoin block size on: August 17, 2015, 03:52:22 AM
By calling the options "the original" and "the next generation", you are being suggestive about which option to choose. It sounds like Bitcoin XT is the improved new version and Bitcoin Core is dead or something.

Nah man, my word choices don't imply that at all, you imply that. Original means the first version of Bitcoin technology. Next Generation means the next version of Bitcoin technology. Don't impose your biases or opinions on to what are very simple words.

Some say "I wouldn't vote for either because I want something in the middle." That's fair, but Bitcoin XT is happening now. So if you want to voice your opposition to that move, this would be one great way to do it. To not vote is to simply agree with what's happening.

Thanks to those that voted.
786  Economy / Economics / Re: Price has inertia, bitcoin price has upward inertia on: August 16, 2015, 05:02:11 AM
This is because: When exchange rate is rising, mining margin is getting bigger, miners will add more hash power, that will raise the difficulty, and raise the cost of the coin, and the price become more reasonable

However, when rally is done, exchange rate is falling, there won't be same amount of mining power going offline, simply because they have already ROIed, or not everyone will sell their coin immediately for profit/loss. As a result, the network difficulty and the cost of mining now stays at a much higher level than before, which created a "it cost much more to mine now" feeling for every one, so people are less willing to sell

Your premise is certainly valid, but the question I have is the volume of bitcoin being sold by miners (after having been mined) great enough to influence the price? My hunch is no, but I don't have the data to back that up. Do you know the volume of bitcoin miners are mining and then selling to influence the price?

Remember, the mining of bitcoins doesn't influence the price, only the purchase or sale can influence the price.
787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / A simple poll: The future of Bitcoin block size on: August 16, 2015, 04:24:04 AM
There's been endless talk about the prospect of a fork for Bitcoin, so at risk of ostracizing myself, I think it's appropriate to open up a poll to get a sense of where the community sits on this debate/decision/imposition. In better words - should Bitcoin technology be altered to accommodate lager block sizes beyond the existing 1mb?

Satoshi said (or wrote) that the block size should be kept as small as possible for as long as possible, to lower barriers to entry for new bitcoin adopters.

Some say that the existing technology can remain and still handle expanding volume and that the few shouldn't make the decision for the many. Some support:

Some say a change to the technology (or "a fork") is required to keep Bitcoin accommodating growing transactions sizes. Some support:

I'm in no way an expert on the topic. But I believe in a free market, I believe in a free vote, and I believe Bitcoin was created to align with both of these ideals.

Here's an opportunity for a simple poll on the topic. Place your vote. No need to debate, argue, or share your rationale (unless you're a real veteran here, in which case we'd all benefit from your soapbox speech.) Just place your vote!

Thanks.
788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: btc atm now in LA- North Hollywood on: August 16, 2015, 03:54:01 AM
This is cool, thanks for sharing.

Is Coin Cloud the company that owns the Bitcoin ATM or a directory (of sorts) of Bitcoin ATMs?

I'd love to see this machine outside of a store so it could be accessed at all hours - I wonder if the security of this machine is weaker than traditional machines that sit outside all day, all night, and never get messed with...

790  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Forking on: August 16, 2015, 03:15:16 AM
Hang on, do we actually have two competing chains right now? Or is this just a heads up that there is going to be a fork in the future?

No competing chains, if Bitcoin XT gets adopted by the majority there will be a fork and the network will start to accept bigger blocks, until then nothing changes.

And how do we or you measure the majority? By transaction volume? By size? By users?
791  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts regarding "satoshis" post today on the mailing list? on: August 16, 2015, 02:44:10 AM
It sucks that this project and the ecosystem and economy that has developed as a result is suffering from a potential coup d'etat...it's ironic because the reality of what may be happening to Bitcoin right now is what Bitcoin was started to become the alternative of.

Power corrupts absolutely...how do we limit the power of those that may be trying to take what is not really theirs to have?
792  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump's blunt talk starting to see some push back! on: August 16, 2015, 02:20:31 AM
But seeing people actively defend this clown is beyond my comprehension. Dumbasses.

People who are opposed to rabid political correctness and the retarded liberal policies will continue to support Trump. And the recent controversies, where he was subjected to unfair attacks from his rivals, has only made made him stronger. Right now, many of the grass root Republican voters think that Trump is the only primary candidate, who is ready to listen to them.

Yep, at a minimum Trump will change how politicians act with the public...helping them be more open and less rehearsed (which is what the public desperately needs.) At a maximum Trump will get elected by the far right, Independents, and crazy people that usually never vote but find the idea of Trump in office hilarious.

Let's hope the US only gets a tad over the minimum effect of this campaign because the guy is ready to spend a Billion Dollars to win his seat...and he's not getting funded by anybody but himself.

http://money.cnn.com/gallery/luxury/2015/08/10/hotel-club-floors-lounges/index.html

Here's a list (from CNN) of the best hotel club lounges. Some of these places look really nice, others I was shocked made the list - Virginia and Rhode Island in the US? Baku, Azerbaijan? There were a lot of legit hotels and locations though. The Fairmont was on the list a bunch of times (of course) and locations in Tokyo, Beijing, London, and other expected locales made the list.
794  Other / Politics & Society / Re: america on: August 16, 2015, 01:57:47 AM
People don't blame a nation which is the best place in the world to live and to work.

According to whom? For the third world citizens, the United States might be one of the top destinations. But for others, it rank far below other countries such as Sweden, Germany, France, Australia, New Zealand, and even Asian countries such as Singapore and UAE.

I'd agree with this. The best of the major US cities - New York, Chicago, and San Francisco - struggle to compete with the high-end tourism that other major cities in the world have. By the way, the UAE isn't in Asia (minor but important correction.)

This story is just f**cking ridiculous. Especially with the run of police-violence driven episodes (which were almost always against some legitimate criminal). People come out and stick up for the police (you see it everywhere on social media) and then something completely stupid like this comes out.

For those of you who don't live in the US or haven't visited the US...I wouldn't let the actions of anyone in Texas speak for the rest of the country. Texans do things different, the think differently about a lot of political issues, and they don't represent the vast country.
795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your favorite type of gambling? on: August 15, 2015, 10:57:23 PM
I like dice games...and when we're talking dice games, there's only one: Craps!

Craps is so much fun. You can wager as the shooter, you can wager on the shooter, you can wager against the shooter, you can wager per role, or per series...it's fucking crazy.

Second choice, online poker and for that I definitely choose PlayTodos...great user interface, great odds, great bonus for first time users!
796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Looking for a poker site on: August 15, 2015, 10:55:04 PM
I'm looking for a poker site that looks like Texas Holdem Poker on facebook?

Dude, PlayTodos!!!! PlayTodos has a very similar table feel to the graphics and texas hold'em room. You can wager with bitcoin, transactions are easy and you can also try your hand at Bingo if the poker table runs cold.

Check my signature link for a free demo and good luck!

This was a joke, right  Smiley?

Not at all. PlayTodos is great! Do you think it's not? If so, don't be so quiet about it. PlayTodos is my #1 choice for obvious reasons - I love it and I support it.

797  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA vs RUSSIA on: August 15, 2015, 10:52:05 PM
USA, by quite a bit.

I think Russia's strength is mostly in Putin's posturing. Any President riding horseback with guns and no shirt has to have a balls out military, right?

I'd be more concerned about the strength of the China military.
798  Other / Politics & Society / Re: BERNIE SANDERS, WEIRDO IN CHIEF on: August 15, 2015, 10:35:20 PM
We are talking about illegal immigration. (There is no significant differences between the GOP and Democratic positions as far as legal immigration is concerned) These people don't pay taxes. And you want to hide that fact, by clubbing illegal immigration with legal immigration.
Actually, we're not talking about illegal immigration, we're talking about legal immigration (and I can say that since I'm the one that chose that point as support for my original post). I think both parties are against illegal immigration, but Republicans don't want any immigration..."immigrants steal jobs!", right? Not most of the jobs that most Americans tend to or want to work. And all immigrants, regardless of status pay taxes...there's sales tax on almost anything purchased (if you want to split hairs and it sounds like you do.)

Illegal immigrants are responsible for a majority of crimes in places such as California and New Mexico, and it is very difficult to catch them as they cross the border immediately after conducting the crimes.
If you don't have a source to support that comment you shouldn't represent it as fact. It's an absolute lie...but feel free to share the source if you have one, educate me, us. I won't disagree that the scenario of illegals committing a crime and fleeing the country happens, of course it does it...it's a pretty logical move if you commit a crime and have a home in another place that won't support extradition. The point is that this is not the majority, not even close, it doesn't characterize the immigrant population in the US - legal or illegal, but remember we're just talking about legal immigrants.

40,000 may be statistically insignificant. But $12 billion is not. That is more than the annual budget of Cyprus.
Any source for your $12M figure? And if you do the math you're talking about an expense equal to $300 per person (12m / 40k). Is that really a ridiculous amount per person for the Gov't to fund to try to help someone who's facing an death sentence disease? That amount of money is easily made up by the taxes that those people end up paying in the extra months or years of life they're given by providing these treatments...surely Republicans would love this, right? Allowing people to live with their disease so the Gov't and businesses can get a few more months or years of their economic activity?

You haven't said you're a Republican, so I won't assume. But what you have done is try to sensationalize a stereotype using big numbers, but when those big numbers are analyzed they don't make a very impactful statement.

And for the record, i'm an Capitalist...pro business all the way. I just don't understand the hypocrisy of the US political parties. It's time for a major change.

Republicans: Trying to add more laws to restrict peoples freedoms - no to same sex marriage, no to immigration, no to smoking pot - despite the obvious business and economic benefits that these freedoms bring.

What do you mean by the obvious business and economic benefits?

1. Illegal immigration: The only business which benefits from illegal immigration is arms and drugs smuggling.
Are you joking or unable to understand how people that seek higher wages or greater opportunity in America would want to immigrate to the US for lawful employment? The economic benefit is the taxes paid by Millions who come to the US to work in blue collar and white collar jobs. The small businesses created to provide services to all the affluent communities.

Arms and drugs are largely orchestrated by citizens...and those immigrants that do partake are often easy to catch and arrest.

2. Same Sex marriage: Every year, around 40,000 homosexuals turn out to be HIV positive, putting an additional burden of $12 billion on the tax payers.
Are you kidding? 40,000 is statistically insignificant, less than 1,000 people per state in a country of 300,000,000 people. According to this source (http://gaylife.about.com/od/comingout/a/population.htm) there are 9 Million people that associate themselves with being gay in the US. And it's widely known that married couples tend to be more productive in society (because as they build a life together they have more vested in their community and shared success.)

3. Smoking Pot: There are republicans who support pot legalization. And a vast majority of the Democrats are against pot legalization.
This may be true, but the Democrat Party doesn't call free trade or expansion of business one of their guiding principles, it's not a part of their platform. Republicans DO preach expanded business, so it's a hypocrisy for them to be against an industry that is parallel to alcohol and could bring significant tax dollars and jobs to states (especially during a time when tax revenue boosts would be much appreciated.)
