141  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcoin T-Shirt for 12.89 mBTC, Group Buy ($5.63) on: May 14, 2014, 03:52:03 PM
Confused here.

You talk about expensive shirts at other places being 50 mBTC shipped, then advertise a shirt for 13 mBTC and 30 mBTC USA shipping for a total of about 43 mBTC.

I sell shirts without pre-orders, without crowdfunding, directly for BTC and sell them at 39 mBTC shipped in the USA.

Also monkeys have performed sexual gay acts and contracted a similar HIV and they are animals, do men have to behave like animals?  This is god gift to us all free choice.  But remember when you go into the ground you will be the one to be judged and so will I.

When the HIV was first discovered among the gays in San Francisco and Los Angeles, the disease was treated by the medical authorities as something confined to the homosexual community. The homosexuals protested that because of this, the research was not given enough funds. Do you know what happened after that? The gay community encouraged the HIV positive members to donate their blood, so that the disease might creep in to the general population. The first recorded HIV epidemic in the US resulted from this grand thinking.

Hilarious.  History shows us that IV drug users (motivated by money) gave the infected blood.

STUDY FINDS DISPROPORTIONATE ABUSE BY 'GAYS'
I read those links, but couldn't find any actual mention of the abusers' sexual orientation. Without that data, there's no way to determine whether they abused children of the same sex because they were homosexual, or whether they abuse children of the same sex despite not being homosexual due to children of the "appropriate" sex not being readily available. The study is fatally flawed on that point alone.

That is correct.  He has been debunked because he did exactly that.  He took the sexual abuse from the heterosexual foster parents and ADDED IT into the homosexual side if the abuse was male on male.

He also only included a mostly select group of lower income gays and everyone from the straight side.  If you only include lower income straight people you also have MUCH more abuse.

144  Other / Politics & Society / Re: An complete argument for same-sex marriages. You can't prove it wrong on: May 14, 2014, 12:38:16 PM
Don't people see farther down the road? 50-100 years ago, homosexuality was viewed on nearly the same level as pedophilia, and there were very little to no rights for gays. Now gays are accepted in the public eye. How long before pedophiles start marching for rights, and the "progressives" (read liberals) side with them. The argument for why gayness was persecuted in the past is that we were not ready for it or something along those lines. I don't want to see the day when all kinds of perversions are accepted. It needs to stop somewhere.

Yes. Let's ban all sorts of sex except missionary position because anything else is just perverse  Roll Eyes. Being gay is not perverse. Your opinions are. Comparing homosexuality to paedophilia is a ridiculous comparison. Laws were just fucked up back in the day because they were based on ignorance, intolerance and biblical crap but we've moved past that now (or at least most decent people have).
Well if that is the case some people are naturally prone towards violent behavior. Should we allow violence? Others are naturally attracted towards children. Should we allow that? And yet others are easily addicted to things like drugs and alchohol yet we still take steps to shun such behavior. Are you saying because these are deep seated psychological issues we should allow them?

Are you actually saying being gay is because of 'deep seated psychological issues' and trying to compare consensual homosexuality with justifying someone beating another person up? Raping kids isn’t consensual. And regarding drugs, it shouldn't be any of the states business what an adult puts into their body, nor should it be where anyone wants to stick their dick.

Let me tell you something, its in the bible, I am not judging anyone but I am saying the wrong and right from the bible stand point,  I say when people are gay is because is a mistake in nature.  So I dont blame them for it, the ones I do blame is the one who molested and became gay even thought its not entirely there faught. Now we have societies that take young woman for mairriage and not just 1 many wives they take, they are many societies with these beleifs, and now in this western society is considered staturtory rape if you make any sexual contact with a youner female.  Now guy and a guy.  Penuis that goes into an asshole which is filled with alot more bacteria then a vagina.  The ass made for sexual behavior or to get rid of waste?  This was something man had created from sin and now the sin we are accepting in society to pass and pass.

Do you want to outlaw straight people from having anal sex too?
145  Other / Politics & Society / Re: An complete argument for same-sex marriages. You can't prove it wrong on: May 14, 2014, 12:30:27 PM
homosexual relations with consenting partners and rape ( Nonconsensual Sex )  have nothing to do with each other

Unfortunately that argument is not true always. Recently there was a study on sexual abuse by foster parents. For heterosexual foster parents, the rate was around 2%, while for the homosexual foster parents, the rate was between 40% and 45%. Unfortunately, less than 1% of these pedophiles were prosecuted for their crimes, party because the cops were afraid of being labelled as homophobic. I don't have anything against homosexuality as such, but I have serious problem when pedophiles use it as an excuse to molest small children.

Link please.  You are probably NOT referring to a 'study but the testimony of one debunked man.

Rand Paul Tops Hillary Clinton in 2016 Presidential Poll

http://news92fm.com/437161/rand-paul-tops-hillary-clinton-in-2016-presidential-poll/

Quote
Dartmouth College reports Paul beats Hillary Rodham Clinton with a slim, two-point lead among likely New Hampshire voters, 38-36. Meanwhile, a host of other Republican hopefuls trail the former Secretary of State and First Lady.

Clinton is a pretty clear winner in that race nationwide.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/us/general_election_paul_vs_clinton-3825.html

I would like to see Christie vs Clinton.  While RCP still has Clinton in the lead, I think Christie would win.

It is more interesting how the U.S. astronauts are going to get back to Earth from the station... Should they orchestrate a Maidan there, in space? Grin

How many US astronauts are there in the ISS right now? And how many Russians are there? Here is the plan. The Americans can take the Russians hostage, and ask the Roskosmos to send a rocket to transport them to some shitty location within the US.

Luckily astronauts and cosmonauts are better people then the ones stuck down here on earth.  They will work together to help each other regardless of what is decided down here.
149  Other / Politics & Society / Re: An complete argument for same-sex marriages. You can't prove it wrong on: May 14, 2014, 04:33:40 AM

And it is wrong to say that homosexual activity is common in the animal kingdom. It is extremely rare, and found only in less than 0.001% of the animal population.

Can you back that up?  Or are you using some new definition of the word 'rare'.  Scientists that work with animals say that and have many documented examples.  It is FAR from rare.  It is common.
150  Other / Politics & Society / Re: An complete argument for same-sex marriages. You can't prove it wrong on: May 14, 2014, 04:31:48 AM
Homosexuality is a Life Choice Due to the fact that homosexuality has been proven to sometimes be a life choice (not always genetic), it would be hypocritical to allow gay marriage, but then not allow incest-marriage, or polygamy, since these are obviously both life choices also. A lot of people simply support something because it sounds nice and seems humanitarian, this can lead to ignorance, hypocrisy, and a detrimental/self destructive policy.

That is also a valid point, Hazir. I am afraid that if we legalize homosexual marriage now, then some people will start campaign to get incest and pedophilia legalized. Tolerance is always exploited.

In places all over the world where it has been legalized for long periods of time this has not happened.

"Tolerance is always exploited."  - Wow.
151  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A Society that can use system with Base wage on: May 14, 2014, 03:19:57 AM
You need to look at the before and after to understand what a higher minimum wage would do.  I am only going to comment on the USA as other countries have differences in structure that will cause differing outcomes.

Right now:
Many low wage jobs have replaced manufacturing jobs that would pay a living wage.
Many people work in low wage jobs because higher wage jobs are not available due to a changing economy.
Many of the people earning lower wages get government subsidies (food stamps etc) to make up for the low wage.

After $15 minimum wage
Raising wages at places like Walmart and KFC would have an affect on prices but the affect would probably be less then 5%.
Many taxes would be saved because people with jobs would be less reliant on government subsidies.
Very few jobs at the bigger companies would be lost as a percentage.
Smaller companies would be more hurt especially non chain restaurants  and small stores.  Those jobs would not go away, they would be replaced in bigger companies as the smaller ones went under.
Many consumers would have more purchasing power, more than the inflation caused by the price increases BUT the middle class would gain little or no additional money and would be effected by inflaction.

------------
In the end the poor would benefit, the government would benefit  (more taxable wages and less subsidies) and the middle class would be FURTHER hurt.

I think this will happen in the end.  The middle class in America cannot seem to get a break.

I think people are interesting beings. If I was too look for some natural or wild influence I would look at my most basic source, nature. You don’t see males having doing it with males in the animal kingdom.

Wrong.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_animals_displaying_homosexual_behavior

"Homosexual behavior in animals is sexual behavior among non-human species that may be interpreted as homosexual or bisexual. This may include sexual activity, courtship, affection, pair bonding, and parenting among same-sex animal pairs. Research indicates that various forms of this are found throughout the animal kingdom.[1][2] As of 1999, nearly 1,500 species, ranging from primates to gut worms, have been observed engaging in same-sex behaviors; this is well documented in about 500 species. "

hackjack, all the points that  you given are man's arguments. And the arguments of man kind often go against the commandments of God. Nothing new there.

On more of a legal level, man may make any kind of law he wants. But in this case of homosexual 'marriage', I like God's law better. It's like a breath of fresh air that just makes sense, just the opposite of man's law on this issue.

How did you know what God's law is?  I see in nature plenty of examples of homosexuality.

Yea. The bearded lady is going to be the end if days. Much more likely that than Crimea escalation or overpopulation and resource wars.

As soon as commercial space companies pick up steam the US should easily surpass Russia in terms of space technology. Frankly I think we are still ahead but it won't even be close. American private corporations will be far more effective than Russian government bodies that are rife with corruption and quality control issues (Those last two items are not my opinions, those are facts. Russia has a serious problem with corruption in military technology and development and they struggle with quality issues.)

Now, American government-funded programs do suffer from the same issues but American corporations suffer less than Russian ones do in that respect. Russian corps are far more interwoven with the government than their American counterparts are.

Right now commercial space companies face the same problem as almost all companies - global economy is slowing down, credit is drying up and the whole debt wall is in danger of eventually collapsing.
That means things will not pick up steam - they'll rather grind to a complete halt instead, unless they find a way to become profitable.

Money is hard to come by these days and it will only get harder in the forseeable future. The US lost the technology race about 1-2 decades ago in many respects with only isolated lighttower projects that still stand out (as a direct result of the ill-fated US policy priorities). Today, the US is doomed as a comsumer nation either of eastern/european technology (hightech) or going the cheap route with sub-par equipment. Some domestic products are availble but those either carry an extreme price tag or lack the technology (direct result of vastly insufficient funding during the last decades).
These handicaps could be countered but that would need lots of money and even more time... and that's something money can't buy in unlimited amounts.

Oh, and btw. the US military industrial complex with its strong government collusion is about the most corrupt entity besides its even larger energy and financial complex. All of them are struggling with severe quality issues (albeit with the military still standing the most effective to this date, except their quality equipment is extremely expensive and nearly impossible to operate & maintain financially over the next decade). But again, that's a government policy issue. And that policy is of a very classic and earthly nature, in a mentally sick kind of way.

When it comes to big bucks, only the US government supported companies would still have the ability for large-scale operations in space (industrial sized) within the United States - however, US government doesn't care about space for as long as it isn't a) extremely lucrative or of b) strategic military benefit in order to accept the financial risks of entering large projects.
In short : if it can't deliver a strategic resource or effectively bomb other nations - they won't invest a single penny in it outside some symbolic PR stunts.

SpaceX is profitable right now without any reuse of rocket parts.  Most people think SpaceX is on the verge of being able to reuse the first stage of their rocket which will cut the cost of flight down (for them) nearly 50%.  9 out of 10 rocket engines are in the first stage.

As SpaceX increases its launch rate and gets re-use going it will have the highest profit in the rocket industry bar none.  SpaceX will also have the highest operational payload to orbit with the Falcon Heavy which is not much more then a ganged version of a rocket they are already flying.  This is possible because they have mastered LOW COST liquid propulsion and have gone away from lower tech solid rockets.
156  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] Bitmaintech Antminer S2 $400 coupon for $50 of BTC 4 left! on: May 13, 2014, 08:00:45 PM
I have coupons and can do an order for you.  The Antminer S2 will be shipped direct to you from Bitmaintech.  This is a little more then $350 off the regular price.

The order itself is between you and Bitmaintech, I am not involved in warranty, tech support or any other problems.  The BTC rate is determined by Bitmaintech, currently is 4.734 BTC.  Prices changes daily.

I found out I can just transfer the coupons so can do this for BTC directly $50 each for the $400 coupons.  Much easier then placing an order for you.

Oh, and I only have 5 now, so when they are gone they are gone!

You are protected by safe harbor regulations, if you remove the offending software you will be fine. Safe harbor is usually used to protected web sites against it's users harming it, but it could also work in a p2p network situation. I would rather a legal expert comment on it and not my monday morning armchair legal knowledge.

IANAL

No, safe harbor does not apply here.  Safe harbor is for internet service providers and webhosts.  And you would need an easily available contact address for takedown notices.  A Bitcoin node has no such thing.

Because data in the blockchain is not directly stored and cannot be just any data directly, it is unlikely that there will be anything in it that is illegal AS IT STANDS in the blockchain stored on your computer.

The total hashrate from wafflepool and WeMineLitecoin has dropped quite drastically lately.  I would think with some gridseeds and other ASICS trickling into the game it would rise.

Why the big drop in total hashrate in the last few days?

What am I missing? Doesn't seem logical to me.

I am not a big player but I may be typical.    I turned off some of my GPU scrypt miners as they are not profitable currently.  Maybe they are under DRK but with the heat they make it made sense to shut them down for now.

How Russia could strangle the US space program

http://www.globalpost.com/dispatch/news/regions/americas/united-states/140324/nasa-russia-sanctions-rocket-rd-180-atlas-v

Quote
The US relies heavily on Russia to furnish the engines that power rockets that deliver both military and civil payloads into space. This includes GPS systems in cars and cellphones, and even systems that allow ATMs to function. Weather satellites are launched into space via Russian-powered rockets, and military systems such as early missile detection also depend on our friends in Moscow. In addition, since NASA scrapped the space shuttle program in 2011, the US has to rely on Russian Soyuz capsules to get its astronauts to the space station and to bring them back home.

Quote
One of the things Americans may dislike very much indeed is a possible ban on the sale of RD-180 engines to the US under a contract with Russian manufacturer NPO Energomash. The RD-180 powers the Atlas V rocket, the main launch vehicle used to get US military and civil payloads into space.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2602291/We-coming-Moon-FOREVER-Russia-sets-plans-conquer-colonise-space-including-permanent-manned-moon-base.html

Quote
The West fears Russia is poised to invade Ukraine, but it seems the Kremlin has a bigger conquest in its sights - the Moon. Moscow today set out plans to conquer and colonise space, including a permanent manned moon base. Deputy premier Dmitry Rogozin said: 'We are coming to the moon forever.'

US companies can build the RD-180 and the companies that use it have a two year supply already.  The problem is that it COSTS MORE to make it locally then the Russians charge for it.  It is a cost issue only.  Russia has no magic technology in the RD-180 that the west does not understand.

The Atlas V is a political rocket.  SpaceX can replace it for less money but is blocked mostly for political reasons.   The biggest weakness in the US space program is politics not technology or know how.

Well, those "buckets on wheels" are still serving humanity. Scientists managed to locate them and use their reflectors to triangulate and measure precise distance shifts between Moon and Earth.

Why not use the reflectors put out there on purpose by Apollo?  Oh yea, that is what they used to measure the distance!
