Looking for someone to create/modify software for this forum [5500+ BTC]

The forum has a shit-ton of money in donations, and has been meaning to get new software for a while. But it's not happening for whatever reason.
142  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Newbie Status Really That Hard? on: May 04, 2013, 06:45:05 PM
I never understood why new members have a problem with it either.  Maybe us bitcoiners tend to be impulsive and want everything right away?
Sometimes people don't want to be stuck at (or at least near) their computer for 4 hours so that they can refresh every once in a while. Given the nature of bitcoin, that's probably not the case for most bitcoiners, but it is for some.
143  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Newbie Status Really That Hard? on: May 04, 2013, 06:37:54 PM
I see several threads at least made every day about how to get out of newbie status and similar things because of the requirement of being online for at least 4 hours while posting at least 5 posts. I was wondering is it really that hard to get out of newbie status? I mean if you really care, spend 10 minutes and post 5 quick posts and then leave your computer on for 4 hours and refresh say every 15 minutes while staying logged in? I don't get why so many people are worried about sneaking out of newbie status.

And anyway, I can honestly say that once I came out of newbie status, while it was interesting at first and I browsed the other sub forums some, the newbie  sub forum is still the sub forum which I spend the most of my time in compared to the other sub forums.

It's not hard, but it is very annoying. The newbie restrictions didn't exist when I joined, but if they had, I wouldn't have cared enough to try and get out. I still think we should get rid of the newbie restrictions
144  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Snowball of Trust [Game/Experiment] on: April 19, 2013, 07:51:27 PM
I don't understand the point of the game. You can't win. You either lose money or get labeled a scammer. There is no strategy whatsoever. This does not meet the requirements of being defined as a "game".
It's kind of like that game where you put your money on the sidewalk and walk away and see if it's still there the next day. I play that all the time! Also, the BTC/USD rate was a lot lower when I started this.

SR must stand for something other than Silk Road now, right? Nothing against Silk Road, but giving someone a loan to buy drugs sounds like not the best idea.
147  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: February 28, 2013, 01:36:36 AM
Hi, I've been into bitcoin for a long time. Mainly just reading the forms and learning about mining. I stumbled upon this form when looking at an android bitcoin app. The thread required me to make a post in it in order to receive some test bitcoins ... unfortunately I couldn't/cant since I'm a noob here. I did manage to PM the thread starter and get the BTC gift. I've still been reading the forms and I've wanted to respond or contribute but can't. I've made 4 posts, this will be my 5th. I know I've been on here more than 4 hours but the total time online still shows 1 hour 48 mins for me and seems to go up 1 min every 30 mins lol. I'd like it if I could have access to the reply feature for the rest of the forum.

Thanks you!

Same here. I think that it has some sort of idle filter, but it doesn't work very well.

Yeah, it does have some kind of system to detect whether you're idle or not, but I'm not sure how it works. I think you're right in that it doesn't work well, though.
148  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: February 28, 2013, 01:35:02 AM
Our project has been successfully running for about 6 months, mining for nearly 2 years and we all have had individual accounts at Bitcointalk.org for a long time. We are just looking to add an account for our project.

Thanks!

What are your other accounts? Have one of them send me a pm to verify.

i have heard of silk road my friend has said about it and i have had look and he said they wont let me sell my brass knuckles  like this one their,, i am not worried about any country laws i would quite happily send it in the mail  but i also know this not the place to do it anyone point me in the right direction as where i could sell my items for btc any help would be appreciated ,,, anything apart silk road  because to make an account you need btc and i think their are rules like no weapons or things like that and plus i got no btc to my name so thats no option
Black Market Reloaded might allow weapons, and you don't need to pay to make a seller account. The community isn't as big, though.

To put an image in your post, first upload it to a site like http://imgur.com/

Then you just get the image url and put it in an img tag. So let's say the image url is https://i.imgur.com/dpIwmKL.gif

You would put this in your post:

151  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Kalyhost.com on: February 26, 2013, 03:45:20 PM
i did submit a ticket asking for cancellation and refund but still no one answered and magicaltux ignored me on freenode so im worried , and about the people who use their services r they for real or is it just magicaltux using several accounts to scam?

I started registering domain names with them over a year ago and have had no issues. Kalyhost is only a subsidiary of the company started by MagicalTux; I highly doubt he is involved in its day to day operations.

and r u one of magicaltux's friends? i dont see how u never had issues when everybody is complaining thats not reasonable

"Everybody"? The only other person in this thread who has personally experienced any bad service is freemoney. I happen to have actually met freemoney in person and believe he is telling the truth, I'm simply saying kalyhost has seemed just as professional to me as other webhosters.

I believe there is also a user here created specifically for Mt. Gox support. Try sending them a PM.

sending him a pm here wont do any good he'll ignore like freenode since he got my money now, and since u're a customer for over a year now maybe u can reach them and tell them about this? if u may :-)
You never know if he'll ignore you until you try. A lot of people just idle in IRC and don't really look at the chat. It's also very easy to miss certain messages if there's a lot of activity in the channel. If you want help, you should try everything you can.
152  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Video inside] BitVegas. Update: PIG RACING RELEASED! on: February 26, 2013, 03:19:19 PM
Thanks dooglus. I was already aware of this shortly after launch but didn't feel it was necessary to restart the server so soon to fix it. It's fixed now!
I seriously can't wait to use real money on pig racing!
153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: February 25, 2013, 10:28:47 PM
We need a white list Smiley. We have been a Bitcoin business that have been active for 6 months.

Check us out at http://bitcoinpride.com
I think FlipPro owns Bitcoin Pride. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=124480.0) I pm'd him.

EDIT: Whitelisted
154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Namecheap implementing Bitcoin payments on: February 25, 2013, 08:57:34 PM
If namecheap's on board, GoDaddy can't be far behind.
I'd like it better if they refused to accept bitcoins and went out of business because of it. Unfortunately, that dream may never come true. Sad
155  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: February 25, 2013, 06:58:52 AM
I need out of here so I can post an announcement about a DDoS attack currently affecting the ISP for Dragon Tales, the Bitcoin Casino.MMO
Normally, I'd say to make the announcement on the newbie forum for now. But darkmule did mention a pm from someone who can't post in the Dragon's Tale thread that said that, so it appears that actually is your intention. Whitelisted.
156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DuckDuckGo.com: Great Search with Bitcoin Support on: February 25, 2013, 05:18:16 AM
Been waiting for this for a while.  I requested they add a !blockchain feature a while back, but this is the first I've heard of them doing bitcoin-related dev.

I do love DDG, but I don't think it's actually the DDG team that is working on these bitcoin plugins. One of the cool thing about DDG is that anyone can make plugins. All you have to do is fork one of the DDG repositories, develop your plugin, and then submit a pull request. If you've made a good, useful plugin they might integrate it into the live search engine.
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DuckDuckGo.com: Great Search with Bitcoin Support on: February 25, 2013, 01:49:27 AM
I like the name lol.

Does anyone plan on using this?
A lot of people on this forum already do. I use it.

I still have my coinedbit from a long time ago when there was a deal for them on metaco.in. I really enjoy the shininess of it. I might buy another!
