141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining ETH is now no profit on: May 28, 2019, 12:18:48 AM
I was just wondering why there are so many threads like this that purportedly discourage mining on a particular coin especially with ETH on the basis of profitablity  when in fact it has a decent hash power which only means that more miners are mining on the network. I hope some of those threads was not meant to discourage or eliminate competition, rather we must encourage everyone to mine on a particular network to make it more stronger thus safeguarding all our interest in it. Imho.

People are just greedy and want to discourage others from mining so difficulty stays low.  Mining is one of the easiest things for someone to do from home that needs extra income.
142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will NBA teams start paying Bitcoin to their players? on: May 27, 2019, 11:01:40 PM
I know this is crazy for non-Bitcoiners, but for me, it's a possibility.

I came across an article from Bitcoinist about NFL players preferring to get paid in Bitcoin than fiat money. They're joining the revolution.

Source: https://bitcoinist.com/pay-in-bitcoin-nfl-players-join-russell-okung/

In the NBA, the Sacramento Kings are the first NBA team to accept Bitcoin payments via BitPay, and Golden State Warriors' sponsor, Rakuten, bought a crypto exchange.

I wonder when NBA players will start doing their own revolution by forcing their respective teams to pay them in Bitcoin?

I would love to see this coming, but what are your thoughts on this one guys. Any feedback will be appreciated.

Cheers!

This is good news.I am not a big basketball fan, but most of the NBA players have really high salaries and if they join the crypto world as traders and investors,it will have a huge impact for sure.

I do love basketball but it kind of makes me sick to think about how much money to make and all they do is throw a ball into a hoop while people are slaving away in factories all day and don't even have enough to sruvive.
143  Economy / Economics / Re: Surveillance Capitalism, Facebook coin, KYC, crypto on: May 27, 2019, 10:54:53 PM
Data is one of the most valuable things and most people just hand it over for nothing and do not care.  I'm really scared about how powerful this Facebook could become among the masses.  Zuckerberg has already shown that he is a psycho that is bent on world dominance.  I'm guessing their coin won't be mineable at all and will be completely centralized.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: May 27, 2019, 10:50:06 PM
Aston Villa, one of the few english that won the Champions League (the others are Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd, and Nottingham Forest) is back in the EPL...Good to know that we'll get to watch the top teams at Villa Park, it's such a nice looking stadium  Cheesy

Btw, did you guys read the news about Newcastle? The club is about to be sold to the Bin Zayed Group[1], the same ones who failed to takeover Liverpool last year[2]

2. https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1007716/Liverpool-takeover-Man-City-owner-cousin-Sheik-Khaled-Anfield-FSG

I think it was sad they dropped out, big club, big organic fan base, but I wasn't too unhappy they got relegated back then, they were playing god awful football so maybe this will jolt them back into the proper way of playing football (whatever that is, NOT how they played 3 years ago!).

But say what Newcastle? Another Sheikh club must not happen! Don't get me wrong, I have little against the origin of owners, just against the origin of owners' cash;) I think even the Toon Army would prefer bloody Ashley to some absent rich oil man... unless they get another guy as passionate as Leicester (now deceased) owner.

Benitez will hope it's true I suppose so those purse strings can open up.

I think Manchester United fans are still in shock with what happened with Manchester City and how they became the better team.  People hate the rich owners that spend to win until the guy buys the team they support, then they love it.
145  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance and EUR/BTC on: May 27, 2019, 10:42:34 PM
Binance has become very powerful and they delist coins out of spite and personal vendettas.  I still trust them with my coins when I'm trading but the amount of power they are holding scares me a bit.
146  Other / Off-topic / Re: exploring the dark web on: May 27, 2019, 10:38:37 PM
Its crazy to think about just how much of the internet you don't see when you use mainstream serach engines like Google.  I'm not a dark web user myself but I have watched many videos on youtube about what goes on there and it isn't pretty.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will NBA teams start paying Bitcoin to their players? on: May 27, 2019, 04:43:35 PM
If this actually happened this would drive demand up and bitcoin would rise significantly.  This will ever happen though, its far too volatile for agents to let their players get paid in btc.

Mavericks aren't actually accepting crypto, they are using a 3rd party processor so they are just receiving cash.
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in thinking, Do not worry later. on: May 27, 2019, 04:40:09 PM
Unfortunately doing the most rational thinks doesn't bring you the most profits.  I've seen the crappiest altcoins go 100x in a short amount of time that had no development and no future. Was the wrong speculative play to not buy any.
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will they ever find Satoshi Nakamoto? Make your prediction... on: May 27, 2019, 04:32:34 PM
The better question is will those early 1 million bitcoins that Satoshi mined be spent eventually?  That is the number one thing that I would want to know.

Over $9 billion at current prices and he had over 20 billion at the peak.
150  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please make me know the usefulness of this forum as a new member. on: May 27, 2019, 04:28:32 PM
IF your into speculative mining this is the best place to find new coins before the difficult skyrockets.  You can make a lot of money doing this but it is very risky.

The smart people hang out in technical discussion and mining speculation so if you wan't real insight head over there.

Off topic section never fails to entertain me. Grin
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC counter reaches zero. Now what? on: May 27, 2019, 04:24:02 PM
People will probably decide that having an inflation rate at zero is a bad idea.  All they have to do is agree on the exe they click to have a higher inflation rate.  If the majority agrees its not really an issue, just takes consensus.
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much bitcoin is "a fair share"? on: May 27, 2019, 04:22:55 PM
As long as workers don't own the means of production there will always be great inequality.  Even if you divided all the bitcoins evenly among everyone in the world the same wealth inequality would happen over a short amount of time due to owning assets like companies.
153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 27, 2019, 04:09:16 PM
How many years until Ronaldo and Messi end up in the MLS like Beckham and Zlatan?

MLS is still such a joke league, and America couldn't even qualify for the last world cup and they are in one of the weakest FIFA divisions.
154  Other / Off-topic / Re: Emails or the postcards? on: May 27, 2019, 04:06:27 PM
Physical postcards give a personal touch that e-mails can't replicate.  It is just a different feeling to receive a handwritten message even though e-mail is vastly superior in every other metric.  Faster, cheaper, no paper used.
155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You may not like CSW... on: May 26, 2019, 07:03:57 PM
If you are not able to prove ownership of a bitcoin address .... you're not satoshi Cheesy Tongue

Proving ownership of an address proves... ownership of an address. Nothing more. Whoever signs Satoshi's address could have obtained the private keys from him.

Ultimately the only power Satoshi has left is his however many coins so it would be relevant. Beyond that he's been left far behind and that's what he wanted all along.

I'm not saying I believe Craig but isn't it possible that the keys were lost or destroyed.  There is a lot of speculation that his partner Dave had them until he died as well.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining ETH is now no profit on: May 26, 2019, 06:56:49 PM
Why not profitable? Very profitable.
See, 150 mh is $3.23 per day.
Take the price of electricity 6 cents, 0.75*24=18, 18 *0.06 = $1.08
3.23-1.08=$2.15 per day, *30 day= $64.5 per mouth.
And if the part is only sold, and the rest is sold at a higher price, then it will turn out well.

Why 6 cents? The price of electricity is different everywhere, for example, in my country in my region the cost is about 9 cents. There are regions where the cost is higher.

Serious miners are paying nowhere near that, they are closet to 1-2 cent range.  Anyone that is paying around 10 cents should just pack it up and do something else besides mining.
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is the "real" bitcoin, "Satoshi vision",... on: May 26, 2019, 05:04:42 PM
The best thing to do if you don't like what someone else is doing is to not talk about it.  The mega haters are just bringing more attention to CSW and Satoshi's Vision, they are falling right into his trap.
158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you consider the greatest underdog story? on: May 26, 2019, 04:18:28 PM
A few years ago when Leicester won the Premier League won the title at 5000:1 odds got me interested in what you all consider the best underdog story of sports and what were the gambling odds if you can find them.?

Can be any sporting match, horse racing, etc.
Damn it!
My question is: Did you have any penny for this market. I wish you had and in that case that was a hell lot of return.

I remember once I won a 30/1 odd. My Stake was £10 so assume I was a bit confident for my bet 🤪

Lol I wish I had money on them to win the title, I'm not necessarily talking about your biggest personal win but the greatest sport undedog stories and what the odds were.
159  Other / Archival / Re: Do any of you feel guilty? on: May 26, 2019, 03:45:37 PM
The way I look at it is people are going to gamble anyways so why not steer them to trustworthy casinos that are provably fair instead of them ending up on a straight scam casino from a google search.
That’s the point,we are helping people here since they already wanted to gamble ,at least we are giving them the chance to find safe place to do business.and the signature we are wearing as far as we know is legit and safe for gamblers.never mind the losing issues because that’s part of the game, but what’s important is our choices from what sites we wanna play .thats why there are signature worn by most of the poster in gambling sections, and being guilty is the last thing would come to my mind

I've heard too many stories of newbies singing up for completely fake casinos and depositing money never to be seen again.

And most of these games on the good websites have much better odds than you would find in real life casinos.
160  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Up Like Trump on: May 26, 2019, 03:37:37 PM
I spent way too much time today ready Trump's twitter comments and replies.  So many paid trolls and they are manipulating what comments appear first under Trump's tweets.  It is really entertaining but ultimately just a waste of time arguing with people on twitter since they are usually paid trolls.
