Dutch, $0.30 / watt
4500 from the wall / hour.
And I Will Go on mining, even if it Will cost me my fiat money. Why ? Because it Will rise again, when ? Don't know, but it Will. The crash now has 1 advantage, the whiners who thought to get rich quick Will be gone soon. And so Will the topics about mining is dead and mining isn't profitable anymore.
Costs are a bit lower here in Belgium bro, but still almost same situation. My rig has been offline for a few weeks now. I feel your pain.. And I think it will take a _long_ time for the market to recover.

Anyway, putting aside the playfulness.. Kinda weird that you get fed up by people using the wrong terms/words for something. If I were to react like that to every mistake/error I see IRL or online.. It would make me sour in the end.
It goes beyond just people using the wrong terms, I think. Words and concepts change over time, but that makes it harder to communicate with each other if we allow people to just do it wrong on purpose and not care. It's probably too late to just be the little boy sticking his finger in the dyke over the meaning of "ROI"... but it still has to be done. It's the same kind of attitude I see online or IRL where people are apathetic and non-principled. Don't get me started on emojis... like I said above in another reply... I may just be getting old and cranky. Whenever someone is saying ROI, you do know what they actually mean, right? Just let it be...

Maybe you can get together with your anally retentive 'Capital Recovery' pal for afternoon tea and cake to dscuss how ignorant we are. As if it matters or anybody cares, LOL.
+25 merit. Love the attitude. If I had any merit to give away anymore I would do the same, just for putting that song from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory called "Pure Imagination" running though my head. Thanks Vann! See how ROI can make you smile there? Anyway, putting aside the playfulness.. Kinda weird that you get fed up by people using the wrong terms/words for something. I'm using RX570s and 1080tis. Each power line coming from the PSU to the risers is connected to 3 risers using a SATA power cable. Some of the risers use molex connections (using SATA => molex adapter), some (moulded) SATA connections. Does this mean I'm also overloading these lines? O.o Also: I'm European, so 230V here.
Grounds are connected through Add2PSU btw.
Same way here. I tried to avoid that, but ended up doing it too. I must say I kept feeling those connectors at least 3 times a day to see if they would not heat up.

December was unrealistically high profit wise - now we're back around where we were in ~September time frame last year. We had a major bull run in the late spring and early summer of 2017, followed by a low spot at the end of summer, and then another crazy bull run at the end of 2017. Right now I expect to see those with credit card debts (for hardware) to be panicking and cashing out, but if you're hardware is paid for there's no reason to panic imo.
Bunch of people are selling rigs, they have made calculations when mining was at the Peak. Now with changes in profit gains they have made decision to sell of hardware and even make some profit on it. I got ROI pretty fast.. I stopped mining. Hoping times will change. well, I got ROId may cards as well, that is why I do not see any reason why should I stop the mining process?! I have like about 150 usd the bill for electricity last month, and even with current low prices and profits I can earn about 50$ per day, that mean that after 3 days of mining I'm covering my expenses for electricity.. So all above that is pure profit, why should leave that?! My rig brings in only 6 euro a day (180 a month) and my elec bill is around 90.. Not worth it for me.

what would you pick.
a 1080 card, or a 1080ti card (price is excactly 20% more for the ti).
1080Ti is 20-25% more profitable (depends on the algo) so if the price differs 20% I would go with the Ti. Plus you will have a more up to date GPU to keep up with the global hashrate. Try to get Asus, Zotac, MSI or Gigabyte Aorus. Don't go for some shitty case, you will experience lesser hashrate and higher temperatures. My 1080 ti has 40% more hashrate than my 1080.. If I was to invest again, it would be ti's.

The fix is really easy. Run Linux. Windows is crap for mining and it wont get any better.
You will no longer have:
Driver problems Reliability problems Windows update breaking things Random blue screens Licensing issues
Example of one of my linux miners:
[/root]:# uptime 14:22:55 up 152 days, 20:40, 2 users, load average: 0.78, 0.80, 1.06 [Agent: 11152 (Running) Total HR: [2.71Kh/s] Miners running [1] GPUs [AAAAAA]]
I only have 4 GPUs running, so maybe it's just me... Driver problems - Never had one. Reliability problems - Never had one. Windows update breaking things - The tool fixed it, so.. No problems there. Random blue screens - Never had one. Licensing issues - Never had one. Had an unused license. There's no reason to switch to Linux. For newbies Linux might be even more difficult to understand.
