521  Economy / Economics / Re: South Africa, leading world in crypto adoption, a high-potential crypto market? on: March 29, 2019, 01:16:52 PM
Most criminals are still using cash and other traditional laundering methods.  The percentage of criminals using crypto is a drop in the bucket.  The crime excuse is just something used by media to demonize bitcoin and associate it with nefarious activities.
522  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Just had account hacked. Please help :S. on: March 29, 2019, 01:11:42 PM
Exchanges rarely refund your losses if the hack happens because of your carelessness.  I'm sorry but your money is gone and you need to take this as a learning experience for future security.
523  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela hit by new nationwide powercut for more than three days on: March 28, 2019, 02:29:40 PM
I'm sure the United States has something to do with this. They want to take control over Venezuela like they have done with the middle east over the years.  Valuable oil and other resources up for grabs, they aren't just going to say no when its easy to take.
524  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you bet? on: March 28, 2019, 02:25:26 PM
My strategy is to bet with high risk with little money.
If I win I get the biggest return I could, but if I lose I don't bother too much because the money that I have gambled is not that much that can risk my way of living.

It's not much of a risk though if you can afford to lose the amount you bet on. It's not high risk but it's more of a responsible way of gambling. And i'm quite like that as well. I know my chances on certain gambling games and i don't give much attention to the ones that rely on luck and gives me less than 50 percent chance.

I think this is why the lottery is so appealing, you throw in a few dollars and have the chances of winning millions.  The problem is that the odds are astronomically low but people like to have that hope in the back of their minds.
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "BOUNTIES" Is it still worth it? on: March 28, 2019, 02:06:54 PM
I think for now bounty is not longer worth it, because there are many bounty hunters who don't get the results of their work, this is because many ICOs fail and the prices of coins from bounties are worthless (continue to down and rarely increase), so in my opinion  bounty is not worth it for now, because it does not give results in accordance with the time spent on us doing a bounty.

There will always be successful projects when people think everything is dead.  The key is being persistent and not losing hope.  If you want to be a quitter that is fine, but remember this, Ethereum was once an ICO that many people called a scam and it ended up going over 1000x from the original price.
526  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jihan Wu is no longer CEO of Bitmain on: March 28, 2019, 02:03:33 PM
when most of us were doing the same when we received our free forked coins Smiley
The only good use for all the bitcoin forks. Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Diamond, Bitcoin Gold, Bitcoin Private, Bitcore, (did I miss any out?) were all at their highest price in terms of real Bitcoin immediately after forking, and all have done the exact same thing - slowly lose value, with the odd pump-and-dump here and there to keep the sheep interested.

I'm glad I dumped all that trash ASAP, and increased by bitcoin holdings in the process.

Dumping ASAP isn't the right speculative play, you would have made some nice money if you held BCH during that mega pump.  Don't forget that bitcoin has also slowly lost value ( down over 80%)

Bitmain will be just fine, they are still the dominant player in this space.  As for Jihan, I'm sure he has a ton of money stashed away, he will be ok.
527  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it possible for us to hack some gambling sites? on: March 28, 2019, 01:55:16 PM
It is illegal in the first place to try and hack a website, whatever website that might be including casinos.I think that even if you think are smart enough to not get caught you still have no chances to hack a casino, no one has been able to do so and I doubt anyone will do.

It is impossible because the owners keep the part of the money in cold wallets so even if you hack a website players funds are safe and you don't get access to any fund.

This shows that all of these exchange "hacks" are inside jobs or exit scams.  All they have to do is keep most of their funds in cold wallets but they never do.....

A physical hack is still possible if you know where they are located.
528  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do if the Bitcoin Sending Fee will be super high or super low? on: March 28, 2019, 01:50:52 PM
Transactions are always cheap if you are willing to wait.  The only people that end up paying really high fees are those that need to send within the next block and are fine with paying any fee.  This is why people were paying over $20 to send within the next block during the bull run.

530  Economy / Economics / Re: North Korean dissidents selling Ethereum-based post-liberation visas on: March 27, 2019, 06:11:43 PM
Just some people taking advantage of the naive ones. How do they expect to overthrow the Kim?

Even if this is a legit insurgent group, they'd need more money than they can earn selling visas. At this point you'd need foreign interference to depose the Jim.

They easily outnumber government, all it takes is a united population.  This is why governments always try to divide us and give us reasons to attack each other.  The power is ultimately within the people, not our leaders.
531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How many of you are GPU only miners? on: March 27, 2019, 05:58:34 PM
Serious miners are paying nowhere near 10 cents, if your electricity is that expensive you shouldn't even be mining in the first place.
532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How many of you are GPU only miners? on: March 27, 2019, 03:20:53 PM
I have both, but mostly ASICs, it all depends on your power cost and gear cost after all, the fact that you can resell GPUs after you are done with them is not important enough to me, i see no point selling a gpu that i paid 400$ for 50$.

Everytime i buy a mining gear the first thing i think about is roi time, mining is a risky business , you don't want to be waiting for a year or 10 months to get to break even point, you always need to assume that if you don't manage to roi , selling your gear won't make that up when you do it half way ( some rare scenarios may be differrnt) but most of the time if you don't ROI in a few months you are screwed.

Right now what ASIC is a good buy?  For example a z11, bitmain is sold out it looks like I can get one for 2k.  With my cost of power 4.2 kwh it make $15 a day.  But when the difficulty rises profit will drop if difficulty doubles my profit gets cut in half and that makes roi pretty far out.

Still much faster roi over gpus which is around 1300 days or 4 years +

Lol no, just no.  You must be overpaying for your gpus or mining the wrong coins.  ROI is nowhere near 4 years, stop giving false information and do some actual research.
533  Economy / Exchanges / Re: is Coinbase insured? on: March 27, 2019, 03:18:22 PM
hi dear , last february my friend was fraud through phishing ,
and the exchange said that ther is no insurance cover about it.
He was very sad.

I think with Coinbase is the same thing.

Its easy to fake a fraudulent hack though, their insurance only covers losses if it is coinbase's fault.  Its best to never keep funds on an exchange but I do think coinbase is the safest choice if that is your only option.
534  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcointalk Charity Program - Give Hope To Everyone $1 Is A Big Thing For Them on: March 27, 2019, 03:11:34 PM
Wish I could help but I'm stuck in financial need as well, can't even afford to have a house, ahh the joys of capitalism.  Makes me sicks that people have billions while people out here can't even survive, hopefully things will change in the future.
535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk's UEFA Champions League Football Preditor Pool £25 in btc to join on: March 27, 2019, 03:03:04 PM
I'm way out of the contest at this stage but I believe in Juve! My only hope is the sidebet at this point, hah. Really looking forward to the coming games though, the Spurs - City game will be one hell of a firecracker I reckon.

Juve are big contenders to win it, after all they have the GOAT Wink CR7 certainly knows his way up a CL winners podium doesn’t he.

I think Spurs play City in the PL in between those two CL games, should be really intense.

I still think Ronaldo is a better player than Messi.  I think Messi is overrated and people calling him the greatest of all time are fools.   Messi is one of those overhyped media products created to sell merchandise.
536  Economy / Economics / Re: QuadrigaCX Owes Customers $190 Million, Court Filing Shows on: March 27, 2019, 02:58:01 PM
There is no week in the crypto world you won't read something that will make you shout "You can't make this*** up"

So, the guy that owned quadriga held all control over the coins there?
He dies and 25 000 BTC and some shitcoins are locked forever?

I imagine his relatives trashing his house searching for the keys ...

But...there is more...
He died of Crohn's disease while in India...
Hollywood, do you read this???

Probably a fake death or someone else has the coins.  There is no way those coins are just lost.

Another scammy inside job, at this point I wouldn't even be surprised if Binance or Coinbase tries to exit scam with billions of dollars.
i wonder how can you fake your death when the justice court in a democratic country is involved?

Its very easy to fake your own death, and I'm sure the authorities are very easy to bribe in poor countries.  The world is full of corruption and it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that he stole money and faked his own death to escape prison time.
537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Strategy on: March 27, 2019, 02:55:28 PM
~
Just heard someone gambling can success with strategy  Grin maybe it will work in sportsbetting, but in gambling like dice or casino it is all depends on luck. Maybe strategy can give us win in first time, but gambling site more clever than that.

It's not about how "clever" a gambling site is, but rather about probability. The more you play the higher the chances of losing all your balance, and not the vice versa as gambling addicts think. That's why your balance should never be higher than that what you can afford to lose in one day. Skills might work for your advantage in poker or sports betting, but luck is still the most important factor imo, and any good strategy should take that into account.

This is why casinos always encourage their players to keep on playing.  Casinos can get hit hard with a few games but if the player is stuck in the casino the expected probability will be hit.  They give out free rooms, free drinks, and sometimes even free girls to keep players around playing more games.
538  Economy / Economics / Re: What should you do in bearish market? on: March 27, 2019, 02:49:48 PM
I think even with experience it's still hard to predict the bottom.Since we expect Bitcoin prices to rise eventually, I think anytime other than a rally is a good time to buy - that is if you intend to hold longterm.

No one can predict the bottom, thats why its recommended to buy in at different levels to average your buy in cost.  The old saying is that time in the market beats timing the market and I definitely agree with that.
539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CoinMarketCap faking volume on: March 26, 2019, 04:07:18 PM
We should all boycott coinmarketcap.  They have been faking volumes and listing scams on their website for years.  They also have scam service ads running on their website.  We need to hit them in the wallet and stop using their site all together.
540  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling destitute on: March 26, 2019, 03:44:47 PM
There are lots of richman who have lost everything on gambling, this includes not only means money and power but also the one you love, family. When someone can not be stopped on playing, most probably their families will leave them and eventually leave a broken family. Gambling can be horrible if you are not care, I have a family that is truly a gambler, and until now he even gave doesn't penny on his pocket.

If they are truly your family they won't care if your rich or broke.  Real family sticks by each other during rough times and they don't just abandon each other.  The fact is no one is perfect and we all make mistakes and unless you admit that you will be too judgmental of others.
