141  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I sent BTC to the wrong wallet address on: April 15, 2024, 04:20:37 PM
Is this the address 1L1UduuGPZ8ttGe59F2w9tTEumQFhtxiuT where you sent the BTC or where the BTC came from?
None of them. That address is invalid.
OP changed the last letter of his address from R to T without knowing the new address is invalid and without knowing all bitcoin transactions are public.

haliscomert, as said by BitMaxz above, no one would believe your claim.

143  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: "Wallet -> Seed" option greyed out on: April 14, 2024, 07:19:04 PM
Curious why they don't support it.
Electrum doesn't generate BIP39 seed phrase, but it allows you to import a BIP39 seed phrase.

Below is the message displayed by electrum when importing a BIP39 seed phrase. That explains why electrum developers don't like BIP39 seed phrase and they use a different algorithm.

144  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Can I Recover a Mobile Wallet on Desktop Using 12-Word Phrases on: April 13, 2024, 07:13:19 PM
All your private keys can be derived from your seed phrase through some mathematical calculations and your seed phrase and the derivation path are all you need to get access to your bitcoin.
Since most wallets uses standard derivation paths, you usually don't need to know the derivation path and knowing the seed phrase is enough.

Some wallets like electrum which doesn't generate their seedphrase using the Bip39 standard, would require you to import the seed generated using electrum only into electrum wallet.
You are right about electrum seed phrase not being BIP39. Electrum uses its own algorithm for generating seed phrases, but it may worth mentioning that you can import the seed phrase generated by electrum into bluewallet.
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: April 13, 2024, 06:59:46 PM
Electrum, bluewallet or sparrowwallet...as long as you are using a wallet that is open source and a non-custodial wallet are all equally secure wallets. But I think comparing them and assuming they have the same level of security as hardware wallets is not entirely accurate because hardware wallets will at least always be offline and that's what m akes it more valuable.
You can run electrum on an airgapped device and have the same security as a hardware wallet.

Without running a full node, the electrum wallet is non-custodial and uses hot storage for safeguarding Bitcoins.
You can use electrum as a cold storage and that has nothing to with whether you are running a full node or not.

Yeah obviously Electrum is a good wallet, no doubt about that, but it requires one to keep the app on a device such as a smartphone or a computer to run and use the wallet to make transactions, and any app that is stored on a device can be compromised and attacked by exploiters using malware, viruses, and other stuff that they use to steal people's funds.
Assuming you are using electrum as a hot wallet, you are right. Any online device is always prone to hacking.
But as I already said, you can use electrum on an airgapped device and be completely safe.

147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Received a payment with low fees, stuck already for 3,5 days now on: April 12, 2024, 07:09:06 PM
Just enable coin control, select the unconfirmed input, spend it by sending to yourself, and add a significant fee.
You can do the same thing by right-clicking on the unconfirmed transaction and selecting "Child pays for parent". There is no need to use coin control.

Doing CPFP in this way is easier for someone without technical knowledge and the other advantage is that the user would see the effective fee rate before broadcasting the child transaction and wouldn't have to calculate that manually.
148  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: "Wallet -> Seed" option greyed out on: April 12, 2024, 06:40:53 PM
Interesting. That sounds like a rabbit hole, as I originally created the wallet from a BIP39 seed. Perhaps there is something different about BIP39 I don't understand. And, maybe, Electrum takes a different approach than other wallets like Exodus.
If you have generated your seed phrase using electrum itself, it's not BIP39. Electrum uses the same wordlist as BIP39, but a different algorithm.
If you have generated your seed phrase somewhere else like exodus and imported it into electrum, your seed phrase is likely BIP39.

I suppose this is why my legacy Bitcoin UTXOs don't show up if I choose a Segwit wallet and visa versa.
If your seed phrase is BIP39, you are asked the derivation path and script type when importing your seed phrase.
If you have fund in the legacy wallet and you choose segwit when importing your seed phrase, you will see completely different addresses.

I'm trying to access some alts with the same seed.
For more security, I recommend you to use a separate wallet for your bitcoin and avoid importing your seed phrase into different softwares as much as possible.
The more softwares you import your seed phrase to, the more attack vectors you may open for hackers.
149  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Out of Date wallet and A question on: April 12, 2024, 06:29:17 PM
As already said by others, you can easily disable 2FA using your seed phrase.
I just want to add that electrum 2FA wallet is a 2 of 3 multi-signature wallet and it will be still a 2 of 3 multo-signature wallet after you disable 2FA. Since transactions made from a multi-signature wallet are more expensive in fees, you may want to consider creating a new single-signature wallet and move all your fund to that.

152  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help Needed with a Stuck Transaction on: April 10, 2024, 07:27:39 AM
Paying only the required fee is enough in most cases but since the fees are also fluctuating you can sometimes end up in a situation such as the one in the OP.
That's why I suggested making RBF-enabled transaction. In this way, you don't have to pay fee more than required and you will be able to increase the fee, if needed.

As far as I'm aware RBF only works if you are the sender, so you can't use it while withdrawing BTC from a website for example.
There is no option to set the fee rate in custodial services. In custodial services, you usually pay a fixed withdrawal fee and you aren't the one who set the transaction fee.
153  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help Needed with a Stuck Transaction on: April 10, 2024, 05:37:10 AM
so in the future I would recommend using a fee slightly higher than minimum average to make sure your transaction gets confirmed quicker even in cases of fee jumps like yesterday.
There is no need to pay higher than the required fee, unless you are in a hurry and you want to make sure that your transaction will be confirmed in the next block. Instead, I recommend using a wallet that supports RBF, so that you can easily replace your transaction with a new one paying higher fee.

155  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help Needed with a Stuck Transaction on: April 09, 2024, 12:00:49 PM
whoops, i kind of missed the fact that it was a custodial wallet... I did read OP tried to use binance accelerator, but i had no idear this also meanth he used binance as a wallet... I assumed binance was just offering a tx accelerator for the broader public (i'm not really familiar with the service offered by custodial services).
I think anyone should be able to use binance transaction accelerator and using that accelerator doesn't mean OP sent the fund to binance.
I understood OP has sent the fund to binance from checking previous transactions of the receiving address.
156  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help Needed with a Stuck Transaction on: April 09, 2024, 11:45:54 AM
just FYI, it has been said before, but child pays for parent is ideal for situations where you're the receiver... And it wouldn't be to expensive either... If you'd use the output of the stuck transaction as input for a new one with a fee of ~4700 sat, it would probably go trough pretty fast.
It's not possible for OP to do CPFP.
The receiving address belongs to binance and there is no change in the transaction.

I may have adopted Bitcoin early, but I lack technical expertise. Can you assist me in this regard? I'm willing to cover any expenses incurred for your help.
You can do CPFP, only if you have control over an output of the transaction. Since you have sent the fund to a custodial service, you don't have control over the output of the tranaction and you can't do CPFP.
157  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Help Needed with a Stuck Transaction on: April 09, 2024, 11:15:10 AM
How long would it take to be confirmed by it self do you recon ?
Yesterday, someone spammed the network and increased the required fee rate to more than 30 sat/vbyte.
In the last few hours, the mempools became less congested and at the time I am writing this post, transactions with the fee rate of 14 sat/vbyte are being confirmed.
I expect your transaction to be confirmed in less than 2 hours. (This is assuming the network won't be attacked by spammers again.)
158  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Mining pool success rate on: April 08, 2024, 10:38:42 PM
How often do the mining pools win the POW challenge nowadays?  Who are the major competitors to contend against?
The chance of being the first mining pool to solve the proof of work problem depends on computation power of the mining pool.
For example, if a mining pool own 20% of the total computation power, they have 20% chance to solve the proof of work problem faster than others and win the block reward.

You can see pools ranking on mempool.space.

Can there be a back-to-back winner or do winners for the POW challenge get excluded from the next challenge round?
There's nothing that stop a mining pool from mining consecutive blocks.
159  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Unable to Send Bitcoin because there showing "Insufficient balance" on: April 08, 2024, 08:00:52 PM
I assume OP is trying to spend an unconfirmed balance which could be showing not enough balance error.
I don't think so. Blockchain.com is a buggy wallet and I have read many similar complaints about it.

Here is a report posted by someone else just yesterday.
Unable to send money in blockchain.com

Assuming OP is trying to spend the fund received in an unconfirmed transaction, that's still an issue with blockchain.com wallet. They shouldn't display unconfirmed coins as available balance or should allow users to spend them.
160  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Unable to Send Bitcoin because there showing "Insufficient balance" on: April 08, 2024, 04:07:24 PM
but still balance is still in the blockchain account and not being transferred from blockchain to electrum.
You don't make any transaction by importing your seed phrase into electrum and you should still see your balance on blockchain.com wallet.
If you have imported the correct seed phrase and selected the correct script type, you should see your balance on electrum as well.

Do you see your balance in electrum?
If no, check if your addresses on electrum start with bc1. As mentioned by Charles-Tim, you should select "native segwit".
If your addresses are the same but you don't see your balance, check if electrum is synced. There's a circle which should be green.
