1401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taxes on gambling send the right message? on: July 19, 2021, 08:35:00 AM
~

The government taxes are not really hurting the rich people who can always afford to go to casinos because they have spare money for this, but for average guys like us who just want to have the experience to play on casinos it will be costly, but it will minimize average joe's going to these casinos, there are countries that are so dependent on casinos that they provide everything on that country like Macau and Las Vegas, casinos are the best cash cows of many countries because like prostitution is one of oldest profession and vice.
It does hurt, they just don't tell it, I mean if it doesn't hurt then why go to the lengths or bribing/lobbying these politicians to have their tax contribution much lower and sometimes even zero, they know that if tax is left unchecked, it could take away a really big chunk of their already big paychecks.
1402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sexy casinos on: July 19, 2021, 07:59:47 AM
What's sexy casinos exactly, I don't exactly know what it is. I assume that it's a casino where there's escort services or probably some strip dancers or something like that?
1403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling on friendly matches on: July 19, 2021, 07:24:01 AM
It depends on friendly matches. There are friendly matches among two teams or players. But what about friendly matches between a boxer or a vlogger for example? If there is a friendly match between two soccer or basketball teams, I might not gamble at all. You cannot make a very strict analysis on it because you can hardly take into consideration their statistics and performances. The match is friendly so there is not much at stake. But if it's a boxing match between a professional boxer and a social media influencer I might be attracted to bet on the boxer.
Friendly matches comprising of teams is much easier because you can easily see which one is going to win because you know whose side has the best player and who doesn't have one meaning that you can easily distinguish which one is the best one to choose.
1404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Esports Prediction & Discussion Thread on: July 19, 2021, 06:48:32 AM
Navi just won their match and clean swipped G2 3-0 in grand finale of IEM Cologne 2021. They deserved it the way they have been playing CS lately in these past 2-3 months. They have worked out a lot and building the team chemistry which is working wonders for them right now. 'b1t' and 'simple' were stars today but honestly all 5 of them played crucial roles today. GG Navi  Cheesy
Glad that S1mple's impressive skills in the current CS:GO meta is paying off big, I have seen his plays and his clutch moments and I think that he definitely deserves the win.
1405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taxes on gambling send the right message? on: July 19, 2021, 05:06:23 AM
The activities you've mentioned are all legal except for prostitution for some places and region. They're just taxed really high. Plus, it's not like these businesses are going to lose money due to high taxes, they have a constant customer and they can exactly raise their prices and it won't matter that much for them because their customers will still buy them.
1406  Economy / Speculation / Re: David Gokhshtein: Bitcoin Price Will Reach $80K on: July 18, 2021, 09:36:38 AM
That man has 400k followers probably that's enough amount to spread the news around the internet.. And if most of them will believe on his view for sure there will be an impact in the market soon or later in my opinion .. Infact he's part of the doge believer as well, so i hope right now they will focus in bitcoin again until bitcoin reach that predicted value wherein no another quick profits like what elon musk did.
Don't wish anything from these influencers, they only care for their portfolio and not yours. They want to hype the people because they have been staking on to something and they want to make money out of their followers, I say we just watch out and see what happens or at the least invest in the coins that you think they are going to support so you can cash in when they try to do a pump and dump.
1407  Economy / Economics / Re: FBI aims to keep valuables, $86M cash confiscated in safe deposit store raid on: July 18, 2021, 06:09:58 AM
We can't do much about it, they're the FBI and if what they decide to do is to keep the stuff for evidence or as a part of the illegal activity then that's their call, and we can't do a thing about that.
Exactly, I think that it's within their power to seize the items and as the quote above says, they're the FBI and you won't be able to do much about them because they are acting on federal level so they aren't to be messed with. It may sound unfair to us but we don't exactly know the full story behind the seizure and why they kept the valuables.
1408  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC GDP? on: July 18, 2021, 05:28:56 AM
If we could actually calculate all the money that was earned by the people in the crypto market, that can be a good framework for calculating the so called GDP of bitcoin but other than that there's no other wait because by definition, GDP has to be value added created through the production of goods and services which bitcoin lacks.
1409  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Renewable Energy resources the future? on: July 18, 2021, 04:58:58 AM
Yes the world can be 100% dependent on renewable energy, it can be achieved if the government were to start adopting it and destroy the oil and fossil fuel companies because they are the biggest opposition of the renewable energy resources, mind you that electric cars were a thing already back in the 60s but it was so suppressed because they care more about the profit rather than innovation. To make it sustainable, we have to create a new kind of battery that can be molded into industrial level and commercial kind because renewable energy gathers a lot of energy but some of them dissipates because there's no storage or if there's one, it's not a proper one.
1410  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial freedom and success comes from knowledge on: July 17, 2021, 02:36:12 PM
Don't forget that a bit of hard work, connections and drive to perfection is going to be needed for a success too. I mean there's really no one size fits all formula for success in anything, you can make money without connections, or without hard work or determination.
1411  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the popularity of cryptocurrency continue? on: July 17, 2021, 01:59:41 PM
Yes definitely and absolutely, in the past 10 years there's not a lot of people that knows about the cryptocurrency either out of ignorance or that of the fact that they're scared that it is a scam. Remember that there's not a lot of people that are using cryptocurrencies all over the world so I don't think that cryptocurrencies popularity will wane, in fact I will double down and say that it's just starting.
1412  Economy / Economics / Re: Singapore, the banking industry, and Bitcoin on: July 17, 2021, 01:03:01 PM
El salvador is one big step for bitcoin adoption. They proved that even a small country could adopt Cryptocurrency and could implement it without problems. However, when it comes to improvements in bitcoin usage, Singapore is the one with their advance technology added by their clean government aiming for the best for its community.
Nope it doesn't prove anything because a small country is easily manageable to adopt bitcoin compared to a big one. Plus, El Salvador isn't like an influential country on he international stage so it's not that big of a deal.
1413  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC is helping out Cubans and Venezuelans on: July 17, 2021, 11:54:56 AM
I don't think that it's only Cubans and Venezuelans Butcoin is really helping. There are more good to countries using Butcoin as means of transactions than bad, even coupled with the volatility that is attached to it that makes it look like it wouldn't be fine using it in place of Fiat. Bitcoin uses is more better to transact than some countries currency which is poor in value when compared to USD. More countries are yet to embrace the use of Bitcoin as a system for goods and services payment system.
It's not like they are trying to say that Cuba and Venezuela are the only one that gets benefits out of crypto, it's just that they are in a more distraught situation than any of us so they are basically needing more help more than anyone else.
1414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think will happen to Bitcoin in 100 years? on: July 17, 2021, 11:18:57 AM
I don't know, we are all dead already to think about what's going to happen at that time so no worries at that point plus if bitcoin were to survive for that time, pretty sure that it will already be a staple to any household because that amount of time means that the adoption has been done by a lot of people already.
1415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your opinion on Jack Palmer's thoughts on cryptocurrency? on: July 17, 2021, 10:37:56 AM
~
I mean it's not they are bad, it's just that the system works that way and they know that they can make money out of it, I personally don't mind them shorting companies because they are basically in a dog eat dog situation, it's not like these companies that they short are not as evil as others right? I mean look at Tesla, they employ child labor to mine their cobalts in Africa and they get shorted too.
That's a strong words to say the least, I mean even if you think that they are evil corporations that are trying to undermine each, we should never forget our morals because that's what make us a human.
1416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Past two months bitcoin journey on: July 17, 2021, 10:04:42 AM
I admire you for having the courage to discipline yourself by saving which benefits your health at the same time. Sometimes, we have to sacrifice something which includes our vices or our unnecessary routines to save and invest more in the future. Who would have thought that a small amount that we save each day could bring us a good profit in the future? It's just a matter of self-control.
It's not sacrificing if it's vices, that means that you are trying to rehabilitate yourself. I do admire OP too because as the quote above said which is the discipline is pretty awesome and a hard thing to maintain. You are right that it's just a matter of self-control and I think that if I have a honed one, I could've been a millionaire already.
1417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will people who ban Bitcoin in some countries give up Bitcoin? on: July 17, 2021, 07:34:41 AM
I think if a country explicitly bans Bitcoin, most people will waver and choose to sell them one by one, because the country has clearly announced the ban, and violations will be regarded as ignoring national regulations. Perhaps some bold people will persist because they do not want to give up their own interests.
Oh there's definitely people that will break the ban because they know that the prohibition is unjust and stupid so I really don't think that we will see a total abandonment of bitcoin from the countries that have banned the usage of it.
1418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Video] Bitcoin miners vs Third-world government steamroller! on: July 17, 2021, 04:47:37 AM
These government agencies probably didn't get their proper bribes so they took it personal and destroyed the mining equipments. I think that even if it's illegal there must be some way to make it more lenient, I mean they are a third-world country agency, I am sure bribing them could've worked out just fine, I say that this is a cover to a much bigger operation to make it look like they are doing their jobs.
1419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptophobia, causes, effects and solution. on: July 16, 2021, 02:16:40 PM
The solution to this irrational fear is that we just have to make people informed about cryptocurrencies and it's uses and let them experience it first hand, I mean that's the cure for almost any fear, learn about it and we will not be scared of it anymore.
1420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is reconstructing the current law system of human society on: July 16, 2021, 01:32:05 PM
You're overrating bitcoin as it is, it's not the cure all or the holy grail that will advance our civilization to become a type 2 civilization, and in that scale, bitcoin is pretty much a primitive invention. Also, it's kind of funny that you are saying this because how does bitcoin exactly change the laws, will it be able to change the laws regarding genocide, murder and human trafficking?
