just what i thought. I guess it gives the pool ops a way to mine like crap for the first couple of minutes whilst the majority of miners are rushing to download a wallet. Well, unless the dev gives us wallet 15 minutes early, then we'll have plenty of time. I didn't see people are rushed into buying CAIx, it seems there will be just a few masternodes. What is a purpose of masternodes (except an attempt to artificially rise a demand)? Well, it's clear why DRK did it -- anonymity, blah blah blah, to raise coin price by producing high demand of non-well informed people and slowly dump their huge instamine all the way.
Why not just pump it and fleece them again? There are so many "manipulators" involved in this coin.
The idea behind the masternodes is not to rise demand, allthough it's a nice consequence. It was set up to find a fair way to distribute the 14 BTC in dividends to loyal CAIx holders. People who are willing to hold their coins and let them stake for a month are loyal CAIx holders in our opinion. This is not at all like how a DRK masternodes work, that should be clear by reading the thread. The same disadvantage: many masternodes -- less income to owners. Better spend it for a bounties for promotion and future development. There is 7 BTC sellwall on mintpal waiting for masternode "investors". Who the fuck will invest 1.5 BTC to receive .056 BTC income in a month. Are you kidding me? People are stupid, but that's the limit. At least reduce minimal verge and offer more BTCs. |

do you think it's worth the hassle to let my pc run 24/7 in order to get my 0.15 - 0.20 btc dividend?
(because yes i sometimes turn off my computer for multiple reasons, but without going into details let's just call it life).
Pro tip: go to digitalocean and buy ubuntu server for 5% month. Then compile a wallet and run it, then forget it. No reason to run your home PC. |

And guys, withdraw your coins from exchanges back to your wallets, don't you know that exchange is minting PoS coins and dumping it using your stakes? COMM is good coin for minting, just 1 day coin age. You'll get profit, reduce sell pressure and also your coins will be safe.
exchanges arent minting coins. it is not secure to have wallets open. see what happened to coin2, 90% of coins were on exchanges not staking. result was a 51% attack by holding only a fraction of the total coins.. Why not transfer huge part of coins to local wallet, leave a small amount for withdrawals and mint? Who cares?! In other words, why they can't turn PoS cold storage online for a couple minutes? I also heard that some scammy exchange delayed withdrawals and minted, but it was a shitty one. |

I searched on anonymous feature on other cryptos recently, most of the coins claiming it seems to me hype or scam. I know one coin XC which seems to me close to truth but they did not release any codes yet. So i am not sure. They seem to me they are at early stage just trying with codes. I don't believe any solution via master-nodes like used on TIPS. Please follow cryptos for me and let me know if any coin that seems to have anonymity feature.
Real anonymity is provided by ring signature, check Monero implementation : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.0But I don't think it will be easy to implement it in CommunityCoin, or maybe a big hardfork !
moreover, it is CPU only and does not have qt client
so forget it... We follow this http://blog.vertcoin.org/?p=27 if they really do it. They will do it, strong team, etc... there is already even ETA. Personally I think stealth addresses is good enough, good compromise. Remember that DRK masternodes is a clever approach to produce huge demand on exchanges. |
