I'm not sure if there is anything that prevents them from sharing the secret. They could be playing themselves or sharing the secret. (I'm not saying they are but it doesn't appear to be as cheat proof as it appears at first glance)
There site says: "We don't release them right away, since they could be used to submit selective transactions and win bets unfairly." They know the secret and that in itself is a risk. Even if it is a small one.

PM'ed site admin on reddit and linked him to your comment for their input.
Shifting site to pending until we have a general consensus.

Thanks for the input Smiley
1424  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trading Bots on: April 11, 2012, 03:53:05 AM
indeed, atm it is live and in operation but only with a tiny amount of BTC.

My algorithm is to basic atm, but I have all the structure there. Currently Im working on making the trading algo modular so I can run simulations on multiple algo's.

Maybe this is the wrong section, but I think you guys can help me here. I want to make a trading bot that will execute trades based on parameters I set according to technical indicators. Thing is, I have almost zero experience with coding. I don't just want to use someone else's code though, I want to build this from scratch, using custom and unique indicators. Is there any resource that I could use that would teach me how to go about creating and implementing this bot?

TL;DR Noob coder needs help building trading bot.

I have already written one, its called bitperl.pl but atm is a private only release.

On a good day it earns 0.7% of capital.

What about a bad day?

The worst Ive seen is it flat line waiting to sell coins for 4 days (back when he had  a good sized slump to 4.60). Once  the price came back  to normal it resumed its micro trading.

Currently supports:

  • Simulations
  • Uploads charts output of: profit ph, profit total, buy, sell, target, target break even. Example:
  • Logs historical Data. (for simulations)
  • The most basic buy low sell high algorithm (more coming).
  • Forcing a sell/buy remotely.
  • tweets changes and transactions: https://twitter.com/#!/bitperl
  • Factors MTGOX transaction charges

Todo:

  • Nicer web UI
  • modular trading algo's

Good luck with your trading bot Smiley

My advice is thread or daemonize everything to avoid any lag between transactions and mtgox live price.
I used to have everything pushed into a single loop - was easy to follow but a simple tweet was enough to miss a good price.

Hi Mem,

I'm the owner of StrikeSapphire and also a standing member of the forum. We've been running since July, 2011.

There was not a suggestion your site is not awesome to play Wink I just had not had the chance to research your site further at the time. I have fixed that now Tongue.

Congrats on the great site and thanks for the extra info, site listing updating.
1431  Economy / Gambling / Re: Mem presents: LIST OF NEWBIE FRIENDLY GAMBLING SITES on: April 10, 2012, 07:14:41 AM
i think the same about bitcointoss... sure there's no admin around but i've been paid the two the small bets i've won. seems harsh if there's just some error on the site to call it a scam if the admin's away.

Agreed and should the owner contact me and resolve the ~12-15 outstanding payments I am owed, fix the game and if we see 1-2 weeks of no complaints then it should be removed from the scam list and returned to the main list.

Think of it as me putting an "Out of Order !" sign on a vending machine so the next person hoping to get a nice cold coke doesnt get ripped off.

I'm not quite sure what kind of criteria you are using. Your choices are possible scam or mathematically proven?

Criteria is listed below, if you have a better category title for "other" games than other atm Im open to suggestions.

Normal List:
* mathematically proven.
* PVP
* other (can be anything provided you do not have payout issues or disputes of cheating).

to be considered a possible scam:

* Payout issues - yes even one.
* Questions raised about randomness that have not been sufficiently disproved.

Even though unconfirmed, it would be a bad idea to direct newbies to these sites until we can confirm.

to be considered a scam:

* Multiple payout issues.
* Game proven to cheat.

You dont pay ?, f**k you.
Someone bets 5btc and does not get paid but another user gets paid on their 0.05 btc bet ? f**k you.

Id rather err on the side of caution when refering people instead of erring on the side of not hurting potential scam artists feelings.

if betcoin.eu is unattended and failing to pay out periodically due to lack of administration then it is a scam as far as the end user is concerned. Certainly not by malicious intent, but a scam none the less and end users should be warned.
1433  Economy / Gambling / Re: Mem presents: LIST OF NEWBIE FRIENDLY GAMBLING SITES on: April 10, 2012, 04:18:33 AM
added bitjack (confirmed)
added backcoin (confirmed)

added dream island lottery (pending)

over 48h now and now and no response from betcoin.eu - it will be shifted to POSSIBLE SCAMS in another 48h.

I see there are a lot of ponzi and pyramid games running around, I feel they should not be part of a newbie list as by their nature they are scams - thoughts ?
1434  Economy / Gambling / Re: Buying up cheap coins? Play your hand at Bitjack21 BlackJack! on: April 10, 2012, 04:15:28 AM
This is the only cryptographically proven fair Bitcoin blackjack site on the internet:

https://bitjack21.com/

Added to my newbie list, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=75883.
1435  Economy / Economics / Re: Any new methods for Debit/Credit card to BTC? on: April 10, 2012, 04:00:45 AM
I haven't tried it but depositing to www.switchpoker.com with a Debit/Credit card and withdrawing in bitcoin might work. It seems like there's a 20BTC minimum withdrawal though.

Has anyone tried this?

yep, they dont like it, but they let you do it. They will charge you a 5% cashout fee if you are a new player who has just cashed up, converted to bitcoins and cashed out.

I bought 13.59 btc this way myself, takes about 2 days to process.
1436  Economy / Gambling / Re: Complete List of Bitcoin Gambling Websites on: April 10, 2012, 01:50:15 AM
hey mate thanks for fixing that site for me, your list got me started on my own short list for newbies:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=75883.0

btcflip is also a non paying scam.

I think requiring community feed back on the randomness and payouts is a good idea before fully endorsing any site.
Also a good idea to prune your list a bit, many sites a now 404 (bittleships for eg).
1437  Economy / Gambling / Re: http://btcflip.com = SCAM (nonpayment, no response from admin) on: April 10, 2012, 01:47:39 AM
yep, both coin toss sites were a scam.

Ive added your site to my newbie list, will shift it out of the pending section once Ive had a chance to check the forums for feedback on your lotto Smiley

Sounds like my kind of lotto though, cheap bets Cheesy
1438  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin-Kamikaze.com on: April 10, 2012, 12:22:02 AM
i wanted to cash out 29 btc right now and it says "failed: the system has no bitcoins to pay".

We played last night, cashed in .25 and cashed out .312 without issue.
Its possible you have won more than the bank has.
1439  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin-Kamikaze.com on: April 09, 2012, 01:59:14 AM
vitsum, love the game - my girlfriend plays it daily (and usually cancels out any poker winnings I have made Tongue ).
Any chance of a smaller minimum bet ?

0.001 or 0.005 would be great, me and the gf cant get extra fun and games for the same amount of coin.

Love the site, great to see the quick switch to sha1 Cheesy
1440  Economy / Gambling / Re: Mem presents: LIST OF NEWBIE FRIENDLY GAMBLING SITES on: April 08, 2012, 05:47:16 PM
