1441  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BTCU Bitcoin Unlimited Mining on: May 03, 2017, 06:50:24 AM
you don't mine it, you just the support for it like antpool did, if you want to support it you need a considerable hash

if you are supporting it with few antminer, better to not bother, the outcome won't change much

1443  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Paying TAX on: May 03, 2017, 06:43:25 AM
In the US:

Mining income is taxed as ordinary income at the price on the day and at the time you mine the coins.

Profit/Loss while trading is taxed as a capital gain or loss.

I have paid the income tax on all the coins I have mined and the capital gains tax on all of my trading.

by your words it seems that you need to pay whatever you are going to exchange your coins or not?

this seems absurd, i was under the impression that as long you don't exchange you don't need to claim your capital, at best you need to declare the consumption, which in fact was payed with fiat

but if i pay in bitcoin my bills i should be fine with no tax, as long as i keep everything in bitcoin, with altcoin would even be more worse...

if someone is interested i'm selling at cheaper rate than yobit(2250 satoshi), send me pm

what is happening here, i've sent 4k from the pool to my wallet but never arrived anything, block are being solved but no transactions record

bcz wallet on yobit maintenance

I don't think you understand what he is asking; I think he is trying to say that whoever is doing most of the mining currently isn't putting txs in their blocks (or maybe his tx just isn't getting relayed properly for some reason). I don't know if this is true or not.

yeah, there is no tx id in my withdrawal, and no coins arrived to my local wallet, i made another one and this time the coins arrived but my big withdrawal was lost somewhere

no tx

Where is the dev? You should solve this issued dev..

who is the owner of this pool someone know?
1445  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin To Soon Reach $1700 on: May 03, 2017, 06:37:03 AM
It can easily attain that figure, as most of the alts are overvalued right now. When the alt bubble bursts, a lot of money from these coins are going to flow towards BTC. Right now, BTC is having a market cap of 61% of the total crypto. I expect it to increase to around 80% in the short term.

those money didn't went to bitcoin for a reason, they are on the alt to allow investors to pull off more bitcoin, and it doesn't matter how many bubble will burst in the alt scene, new one will always emerge

the altsection is the last beach to acquire tons of bitcoin with little investment, high risky yes, but for now there is only huge profit

i believe bitcoin can rise much higher without waiting for that money to return there, who is not familiar with the alt will invest directly in bitcoin who want more risk in the altscene

so the current value is not lower because they are investing in the altcoin, it's just the way the thing work here
1446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Girl gets raided by police looking for bitcoins on: May 03, 2017, 06:33:26 AM
Girl using bitcoin.  You know damn well this is fake news!

For the rest of us swinging dicks, try buying Dash or something.   There hasn't been a news article yet where the pigs have confiscated a shitcoin.  Like 99.99% of the population,  I'm sure they don't even know such things exist.

There are no girls with bitcoin, unless their boyfriends gave it to them.

well this is false, there are many girls using, it especially those that do sexycam, they prefer bitcoin because it's more anonymous than receiving fiat, and saving them from other trouble

so this may look legit, but again this is a story of someone that made an illegal activity and related for whatever reason to bitcoin, which again is never the wrong thing

it's seems that every time someone want to use bitcoin he/she is seen as a scammers or criminal or whatever, when the thing always lie behind the person using it, no different than using fiat money
1447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto's stack on: May 03, 2017, 06:09:42 AM
but the question is where are those coins now?

you need to look at all the new address that were generated between late 2009 and late 2010, the majority are made from satoshi, but i doubt he had 1M coins

the block reward was 50 and the diff was 1, 144 blocks per day, so only 7200 coins, basically he need to mine for more than 4 months alone to have 1M
1448  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How many fee do you usually buy and sell bitcoin and ecurrency? on: May 03, 2017, 06:06:52 AM
1-3% fee on deposit is crazy and will never be a good think, better if you remove that deposit should always be free to encourage people to deposit you know

withdrawals should be the amount of the fee required to not have the coins stuck in limbo, due to the miners queue, and not lowered than the average, many exchange do 50k satoshi other 20k satoshi

so not based on % but a fixed rate

wasted 12 hours of mining in this shit coin, at least you should retrieve the coins lost in the new relaunch or do a swap or whatever

1454  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is it worth investing in Bitcoin MIning with S9 considering the current FUD! on: May 02, 2017, 06:25:52 AM

isn't better for you to just buy bitcoin and not dealing with all the hassles of mining and possible risk?

buying privately at cheaper rate or slowly on the market without increase the value and selling at the next bubble for buying back again

Thats a very good idea.

But explaining something like this to an investor is a real pain.

You see it is just a speculation and not an actual business

A product/Business would be something like-
1. Huge Investment
&
2 Decent Returns

A speculative Product
1. High Risk High Return

Bitcoin Mining is like a traditional manufacturing unit. The only difference is you manufacture a Digital Product and the best part is -
1. Finished Product is delivered daily
2. For income to start generating one need not wait for the product to be first marketed and than sold so high turnover ratio!

But I m still with your idea of simply buying and holding Bitcoins!! Smiley

the only good think of buying hardware instead of bitcoin, is that you are making more bitcoin, with simple holding your are not, and probably you are also producing bitcoin at cheaper rate than buying

but this is true only after you hit roi which is unbelievable hard with bitcoin asic, if i buy bitcoin i would spend $1400 for one, but with an antminer s9 i would spend the cost of electricity to generate one which is

150 days of 34 kwh each at 0.05 cent(well this depend on your electricity) is equal to $255 only, it's like you are buying bitcoin at 1/5 of the original value
1455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is not Ideal, it represents possibilities. on: May 02, 2017, 05:57:12 AM
Bitcoin network can not be hacked because it is decentralized, it will be difficult for hack it
but bitcoin will be dangerous if there are many super computers,
be used on every where or all of people use super computers on every activity related with internet
and we can be lost amount bitcoin if the other people know our private key.
There are measurements already taken to protect the security of our private Keys. I remember Theymos wrote on reddit like switching over to new algorithm based encryption in next 5 to 6 years. Actually Theymos made  this statement for the concern of Satohi's hoarding (believed Satohis had mined 1+ million coins).

So, super computer or quantum computation will not be threat as bitcoin will be switching over to new encryption well in advance itself.

this depend, because switching to anythign require an hard fork, and since the bitcoin communit is resiliant to hard fork and can't come up with simply thing that require consensus, i dobut there will ever be an hardfork

and no you can't switching to another algo without miners consensus, which will never be approved, unless you want to kill bitcoin and losing all the confidence from many people in the world

another bad thing about chaning algo, is that yuo need to build another kind of asic for it(which can't be done overnight), and with the diff retarget of bitcoin,

no gpu can be pointed at it because the diff would still be crazy high, while you wait for the new asic, this make the network 100% unsecure...
1456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we expect "average Joe" to remember passphrases to his Bitcoin? on: May 02, 2017, 05:51:25 AM
simply don't make any password, just store your bitcoin offlien and you are done, i'm doing this since years and i'm fine

if you need password for your bitcoin in your computer that are online, put the wallet in another machine that is used only for bitcoin

If they can't remember their password, AND don't have a seed or private keys, AND don't have a backup file prior to encryption then they probably don't deserve to use Bitcoin.
The simplest (but not greatest, due to obvious side effects) of all solutions would be simply to just not encrypt your wallet.

or they could use bitcoin like they use their fiat money, through coinbase or other secure online wallet(xapo etc), if they can't take the patience to learn how to secure their coin with their wallet and everything

How is this a 'problem' exclusive to bitcoin? If they forget their passwords or pins then they'll likely forget them from every other thing including cards and websites. Sometimes there's only so much you can do for people but if you can't be trusted to keep this sort of info safe and secure then you probably shouldn't be trusted to use the internet by yourself let alone use bitcoin.

this is again not a bitcoin fault, but i know that this is another problem hinder bitcoin to take the next step for mass adoption, beacuse you can't compare losing a password for facebook with losing it with money(bitcoin)

and losing a password for your bank account can be retrieved easily, original poster is looking for decentralized way to restore your password, which is impossible you need to trust someone else, which si not decentralization anymore
1457  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: where can i buy bitcoins? on: May 02, 2017, 05:44:25 AM
virwox or local bitcoin is what you are looking for, but virwox is expensive, you can also contact someone here, but i would guess that with the chargeback problem it would be difficult to find anyone that accept paypal

if with your credit card you have a bank account attached you can use any major exchnage like kraken, bitstamp or coinbase

here a list of the ways you have to buy with paypal https://99bitcoins.com/buying-bitcoins-with-paypal-a-practical-guide/
1458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes the bitcoin price stronger in the market? on: May 02, 2017, 05:29:12 AM
because more country are accepting and regulating it, raising the people confidence about it and the trust, i suspect it has t do with the recent russia regulation

it's easy to see here that every time there is a good news bitcoin go high, and this is no different, and also when the price increase this alone attract more investors that bring again even more and so on

without any valid corrateral like an account(not your, which is newbie and useless) or altcoin, you will not go far here

it doesn't matter the amont you need to provide a collateral like your 400k bytecoins
