1461  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Death of the Fiat Currencies, Rise of the Crypto Currencies on: July 25, 2013, 02:24:40 AM
If you see bubbles everywhere except in the crypto-currency space, you need to rethink your outlook towards everything for your own good. It is an exciting time for crypto-currencies but fiat money isn't going anywhere in the next 12 months. Be practical and rational especially with your money. Just a friendly advice.
1462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fastest way of buying Litecoins? on: July 25, 2013, 02:22:32 AM
LTC can be bought from either btc-e.com or vircurex.com. Both have funding options that may suit you.
Just so you know, the fees at btc-e is pretty high for LTC. I prefer cryptsy or Vircurex for this reason.

1465  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Seeking a Programmer to build a Website. Ownership opportunity with no $ needed on: July 24, 2013, 03:18:37 AM
So you have a good idea. You want a programmer to do all the work so you can reap half the profits? Where's the real plan for business growth? I'd suggest coming up with your skillset and what you bring to the table. Your brilliant idea isn't going to cut it.

Looking forward to the new video. Do you have a document of some sort that we can read to understand this?
1467  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Coingig.com Beta - The New Bitcoin Marketplace has Arrived on: July 24, 2013, 03:13:01 AM
Great site! Will definitely write about this on my blog. However, just a question - don't you think 1% affiliate payout is a bit too low? Even Amazon pays out 4%-6%

Can we name the link without posting it as a hyperlink so everyone is aware, just for future reference?

It isn't that bad honestly. Lots of interesting people and discussions. I am sorry you were banned. I don't have a good answer to where and how to draw the line when it comes to moderation.

1476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lets get US Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) into Bitcoin on: July 17, 2013, 11:38:11 PM
The libertarians are going to hate it. She's all for better regulations. Remember that not every enemy of big banks will be a friend of Bitcoin. For some, this might appear worse. Of course, no harm trying Smiley I don't know how to get her attention though.

Some in the Bitcoin community are already in favor of regulation. Bitcoin is only a currency, a tool, and there are many ways to use it, just as there are many ways to use cash. Adding regulation doesn't change some of the core features Bitcoin has like the inflation limit and anonymity to those that take the time required to ensure it.
I agree, but I am pretty sure the anonymity part isn't going to sit well with her. It is also definitely harder to regulate, especially through her own agency. I see no good reason why she should be enthusiastic about Bitcoin given her agency wouldn't be able to regulate it on a practical level.

1478  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Opinions on Coinbase? on: July 17, 2013, 06:12:24 PM
Are there extra costs associated with the instant option?  I would assume there has got to be some difference with the instant option vs the "standard" option of waiting 5 days other than the timeline right?

No extra costs, but you have to verify your identity.  I had already linked a bank account so this additional step did not bother me.
Yeah exactly. I just bought 1 BTC through my verified account and it was instantly added to my account.

Also, last few days, I've seen the price of BTC on MtGox to be higher than Coinbase. I don't have an account on MtGox though, but looks like an arbitrage opportunity? (I did this calculation taking the fees at Coinbase of course).

It's only an opportunity if you can get money in and out of MtGox.
Touche. I assume getting USD out of Gox is still an issue?
1479  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buying and Selling coins anonymously on: July 17, 2013, 03:24:54 AM
I'm looking for an anonymous method available in Canada for both buying and selling bitcoins. Anyone?
LocalBitcoins?
