What forecasts are given at the price at the end of December?
Obviously, the team doesn't give price forecasts.
642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold (BTG) on: November 26, 2017, 10:30:00 PM
be careful when you download the bitcoin gold wallet, be sure that it doesn't have malware or a virus
Yeah that's been a big concern so far. Use a VM or another isolated environment just to be safe, if you're downloading the wallet. Of course, if you just want to sell BTG, then perhaps it's best to let the exchanges handle that, and just send BTG directly to the exchange address.
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in the top 20 coins on: November 26, 2017, 10:27:17 PM
Is it a safe bet to invest in the top 20-25 coins on coinmarketcap.com? I’m looking to invest about $20,000 into some cryptos.
Nothing is a safe bet. I'd suggest you do some research on projects and platforms, and then invest. $20,000 is a fairly significant amount that warrants a thorough research. Spreading it out blindly isn't usually the solution.

Must admit, some pretty cool updates in there.
645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem on: November 26, 2017, 09:04:48 PM
Bancor network grows day by day. Price raise $2 to 2.6 . My target is $10 and i think we will able to see that on when altcoin rally starts

Yes yes this is my assumption too when looking at all that has happened to Bancor and other alts. Only some alt coins when entering the market have done well and those were generally alts with a working product. Bancor

unfortunately did not have this to start out and had to work its way back up. Now hopefully it can make a surge but only gonna happen if bitcoin cools off for a few weeks or longer imo.

This is definitely true. A working product is the only way a project has a future in this space, especially with all those ICO's being conducted on mere ideas. As for BNT's price one always should keep the ETH price in mind though, not the dollar value. We are still way under the ICO price here, so there should be a lot of growth potential for Bancor, although the market cap is high already.

I think that's the trouble with ICOs so far though. Very few of them actually beat ETH. Many who invest in ICOs are otherwise ETH investors, which means, in general, they are missing out on gains. Bancor is one of the candidates I wouldn't be surprised to see change that dynamic, but it still needs to prove itself by supporting ICOs that perform well in the real world, not just in raising money at the ICO. That might take a few years.

Agreed. So far (almost) every ICO I invested in underperformed in comparison to ETH / BTC, but this could change when there is a working product and people start realizing the value of BNT as a reserve token. But you are right, this could take some years, so just hodl and dont care about the current price so much.
That's the trouble with today's ICOs, and sooner or later, when investors realize they can likely get better gains with ETH/BTC, the slew of new ICOs will likely slow down. That market slowdown may also be a good time for promising ICOs already completed and yet to be completed. The crypto markets are quite volatile and cyclical that way.
646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: November 26, 2017, 08:57:32 PM
Any news of an updated Nano Wallet version for Trezor compatibility?

Yeah, im also waiting for that. As soon as there is some official news about NEM being compatible for Trezor, im buying one.

The required firmware update to Trezor has occurred. Nano wallet now need to be updated. Looking at the GitHub repository the necessary code has been combined into Nano version 2.0 a week or so ago. I'd imagine an announcement and release a days away

KC
Can you stake NEM that's held in a hardware wallet like Trezor? Or is it required to be in a wallet like NanoWallet?

I have been telling for a long time that Stratis is a top 3 crypto-currency and its price should be much much closer to ETH. If people don't listen to this they're gonna lose some big bucks. MOTTO: Invest into tech, not into hype.  Wink
Do you think thats its still good price for 1-2 years hold? I mean 50-60 k btc per strat

I personally would say, yes. I bought some at 54k sats, sold at 58k .. bought back at 52k

Now buying more at 48k

It's almost lowest since it took off in July 2017.
You can try to trade these 5% moves, or just hold and come back in a year Smiley

XEM/JPY pairing on Japan-based coincheck is doing a couple of million in daily trade volume & bitFlyer should be coming out of test phase with its US facing exchange any time now, https://bitflyer.com/en-us? , perhaps we can hit them up again to add XEM trade pairs when it opens to public.

I am happy to see the price of NEM bumped up just a bit at the same time that Bitcoin is experiencing another major run up. It says a lot about the solidity and stability of the coin that it's held a fairly stable 20 to 21 cent price tag in the past few weeks. We all are looking forward to that stable price tag being over a Dollar, but at least it has a stable price now.
It's slightly up in USD terms, but down in BTC terms, which means it isn't keeping up with the BTC rise.

Slow and steady though, when BTC stabilizes and we likely see a run-up in other cryptos.
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: which coin is good for short time investment on: November 26, 2017, 07:25:31 AM
Actually BTC seem to be the one with tailwinds from Wall Street entry into the market, via Coinbase custody and CME derivatives.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do we Need Altcoin? on: November 25, 2017, 11:54:30 PM
There are Bitcoin, and also there are Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold and B2X that we use it as an altcoin, but do we still need other altcoins? as i knew in the forum on the altcoin section there are much announcement about new altcoins almost everyday. do we still need that altcoins?
I do believed that most of the community in this industry got their profit in altcoins campaign or bounties, Including myself o course. Even in doing trade in the exchange site platform. So my answer is yes! we need altcoins to earn a lot of bitcoin.
The reason you're able to convert your bounties or whatever other altcoin into Bitcoin is because the altcoin has value to begin with. That's why someone is willing to exchange it for Bitcoin in the first place. You need to look at these economies as being valuable in and of themselves.
652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think Ethereum could break $1000 as well? on: November 25, 2017, 11:51:54 PM
I'm very positive ethereum can reach that mark. Considering this kind of steady growth it's having after say four months, we will be moving close to that mark. The growth of ethereum this month is a strong indication
I am quite sure it will. The question is when. Also, when comparing ETH to USD price, it is important to keep in mind a relative basis for BTC too. It wouldn't be too good if ETH doubled, but BTC went up 10x in that time period, as a hypothetical.
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: November 25, 2017, 08:12:06 PM
Hhhm, I have a few questions about the Stratis ICO platform launch

Who is actually going to use the ICO platform when its done? Are we talking corporations and businesses? Because thats not going to happen without huge regulation being in place..loads of ICOs and most of the scene is turning into a scam with crap being launched left and right

If we're talking new alt coin projects, what advantage does Stratis have over Ethereum? Im not seeing any advantage here whatsoever in the long term, its simply Stratis re-inventing the wheel here and trying to take its piece of the pie

The Stratis ICO platform also isnt offering liquidity - its not an exchange like Cobinhood where ICO tokens get instant deep liquidity on launch. The issue now for ICOs is not whether they can launch an ICO (which is easy) but whether they can get LIQUIDITY post ICO and have the post ICO process managed more smoothly.

Until those are made clear, seems a lot of questions unanswered and its all hype, FOMO
There's no harm in having multiple platforms for ICOs. Stratis can provide more secure smart contracts. It may also be able to provide a way to send BTC into the contract instead of ETH (not confirmed - I've asked this in the past but no reply from the team). The programming part may be easier for existing corporations, due to a lower learning curve with .NET instead of Solidity. The tooling around .NET is better than Solidity since it is more mature. Less errors means more trust in the system as a whole.

forget about satoshi , $ is all that counts .
Everything below 10$ is fucking STEAL
Lol people care about bitcoin not about $. If price is lower than satoshi price than we should hold bitcoin rather than startis but i believe next year stratis will break new ATH in satoshi.
Depends on people's reference points. Since most people here invest Bitcoin, and if they didn't, they would be holding Bitcoin, the price is Satoshi is what matters to them. Some of the newer projects, seems like people are bypassing crypto (BTC/ETH) completely and going via fiat. They may want to designate their returns in fiat terms.
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt coins worth buying on: November 25, 2017, 05:08:59 PM
Has anyone already written here about Dogecoin? Smiley A joke. Buy DCR and WINGS - these are excellent crypto-currencies that will shoot up in the future.
It seems people forgot DogeCoin as there are many new coins and tokens, but I still can find threads that predict Doge to reach $1 Cheesy.

Dogecoin is very good and although it will never reach $1 you can make money by trading it in mid term. You can make 3x every 6 months with it if you know where to buy and sell.
No one can time the markets like that!
656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem on: November 25, 2017, 05:01:46 PM
Hi all, in now a good time to invest in Bancor? I am really interested in this project but a friend of mine advised me to wait till end of december before since by then bitcoin hardfork will be over and prices of all cryptos will com down. Is this true? I am new to the crypto game
In general, it is next to impossible to time these markets. There is definitely a tail wind for Bitcoin though, in the form of CME futures. However, those would likely also take time - for example, it may take a year or so before the larger banks move in on those derivative products. Also, since they are derivatives, large banks can gain exposure to price both ways, i.e. it is now a good way to short Bitcoin. The effect on BTC price itself is very complex. It is even more complex on how this would affect the price of other cryptos. So I'd say if you want to buy, since the price is near the ico price already, just dollar average into it over the next few months. Good luck!

...

If you're serious about this and not trolling, then the right way to acquire a lot of ICN over the counter would be to split your order up. Also, it will likely be a premium to the spot price you see on Kraken. Maybe open a new trading thread, and accept offers that you get from people. Get a trusted escrow for the trades.

You really take him for granted, tho? Those times where you have to come to BTT to make OTC deals are long gone.
Heh fair point. He never got back, so I guess he has no real intention of following through. I've seen some large and successful trades done here OTC in the past, so still a hope it might continue for some newer coins
658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: November 25, 2017, 05:25:08 AM
Many people complaining but we are up 80% or so since beginning of November in $ terms. There are worse things than being up 80% within just 3 weeks. I know we lost a lot of value before that but there is much more room for price increases and they will come.
These arbitrary time frames mean nothing. You can always find periods of high increase and high decrease in hindsight. That's why the best thing is to hold through the volatility and put money into promising projects for the long term.
659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Digital Assets Management Platform on: November 25, 2017, 04:07:42 AM
I would like to purchase over-the-counter one million ICN (or the maximum I can buy for the worth of my coins) for the current market price of $1.71 each.  I am prepared to use any of the top 10 most trusted BCT escrowers here in order to protect my self.  So, if you have approx 1 million ICN's that you wish to just get rid of let me know.  I have over $1.xx+ MM worth of BTC, Lisk, ETH, BTC and some other cryptos.

Reason:  I am starting to get that nauseating "FOMO syndrome" of not having partaken on ICN's ICO and not having purchased any ICN's at any time, plus I can't use Kraken because its not available where I live.  I have done all my due diligence and I strongly believe, despite the downhill rollercoaster than ICN has been having in the past few months that this time ICN most certainly is going to enter a bull market, a bottom has been reached a while ago and now its beginning to take off.  I would not like ICN to take off without me being on board.  My desire to acquire 1 million ICN's is testament that I am a strong believer on the ICONOMI project, at least finally.

EDIT:
ALL these positions has caused me a very increased ROI, I feel that most of these positions could be on its tipping point and could reserve, I am not a believer that the price of BTC can just sky rocket from $500 to $8,200 in just a few months time and expect that it will remain that way and never go back down, very fast rise = very fast fall.  So pretty much I want to liquidate all my current open position in favor of the undervalued ICN's so that I can double ride another pump and further increase my ROI.  At least that's my strategy.

EDIT again to correct misspelling of ETH

If you're serious about this and not trolling, then the right way to acquire a lot of ICN over the counter would be to split your order up. Also, it will likely be a premium to the spot price you see on Kraken. Maybe open a new trading thread, and accept offers that you get from people. Get a trusted escrow for the trades.
660  Economy / Economics / Re: What is going to happen when we reach the 21 Million BTC supply limit? on: November 24, 2017, 10:30:58 PM
Hello,
I have several questions?
The maximum supply amount of bitcoins in circulation is 21 Millions.
The amount that are mined so far is more than 16 Millions (more than 79%)
What is going to happen when the 21 Million limit is close to be reached?
Since it going to be more and more difficult to mine bitcoins, does that mean that the price of a transaction is going to be extremely expensive?

Thanks for taking the time to answer :-D

21 million should be reached in 2140. By then many things will be incomprehensibly different from todayso it's practically impossible to predict. Just imagine someone in 1880 trying to predict what will happen in 2030... Unless there is some groundbreaking invention which will enable people to live +200 years, you and all of us will be long gone by then.

I heard a documentation saying that its reached by 2040. My friends are saying that bitcoin will go to zero after it has received his supply limit. I think the price will be expensive.

Many people will hold it because it will be very difficult to obtain bitcoins.

You are literally just talking crap without knowing what you are even talking about.

The earliest estimations for when the final Bitcoin would be mined is in the early 2100's and most estimates put it sometimes between 2120-2150. Of course, it all depends on the amount of hash power and mining done. If governments and large corporations put more than was expected, it could be done sooner, but 2040 would be absolutely preposterous, not to mention BTC will never go to zero. There would always be someone who wants to buy it.

You're right, but small caveat - the reaching of the goal of 2140 isn't dependent on the total hashpower because difficulty adjusts every 1440 blocks. Instead, it depends on how the increase took place, and whether there was any decrease in hashpower, and how the decrease took place. It's a bit more complex than total hash power is all I am trying to say.
