1481  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the Bitcoin Giant Whale worthy of our respect? on: July 09, 2021, 12:27:31 PM
Well, you gotta respect them, because without them Bitcoin won't reach this far. Though it's true that they can do whatever they want to affect the market If they do massive transactions, but they have no full control over the market.
If you're a long term holder of a good bag of Bitcoin, then you're considered lucky holding at the current price. Again, thanks to the whales for retaining/holding their massive bags. Correction, consolidation, dips, and other negative price action is just normal to a healthy market.
I disagree, the prices will still go up no matter what but much slower even without them. Think of whales as just millions of people with satoshis combined, they're the same. Also, someone shouldn't automatically get a respect, it's earned and you only give half before meeting them and what their action is will decide whether the half becomes full or the half is taken away.
1482  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency is the biggest investment opportunity in the future on: July 09, 2021, 11:53:47 AM
Have to agree with this one because I find that other investment tools out there is really difficult to be used and most of them aren't user friendly because you have to learn the basics and the intermediate parts first like stock market unlike cryptocurrency where the basics is all that you need.
1483  Other / Meta / Re: Have you noticed many newbies/junior members opening threads lately? on: July 09, 2021, 07:19:20 AM
Most of them that I see seems to be asking questions, isn't that the right thing to do, to start a thread so you can get a variety of answers also, it's not like it's bad, the problem is that there are people out there that are posting thread about conspiracy theories.
1484  Other / Meta / Re: Why do we still have options for MSN, YIM etc? on: July 09, 2021, 06:48:46 AM
the slots aren't restricted(as far as I know). so you can put what contacts you want to put on those slots. although I agree that those should be updated, I guess the admin doesn't see it as a priority since you can still use it to put your contacts like telegram, Discord, LinkedIn, etc...
I think that OP is bothered that it's not the icons that is used so OP probably wants to change it to make it look updated. I personally don't use any of them back then but I agree with you that we can just use it to put our Telegrams and stuff in replacement of the original purpose of those icons.
1485  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is Sin Gapi so popular? on: July 09, 2021, 05:46:20 AM
Singapore seems to be providing regulation and leeway for the crypto market. It's been proven that now many are turning there. I think now countries should be able to implement like Singapore if they want their country to become a destination for investment
Singapore is a small country so I don't think that we will be getting the same results as them when it's applied to our respective countries, unless we start now like what Singapore is doing, we will be able to do the same probably.
1486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Crypto bans are temporary, we are on the right side of history. on: July 09, 2021, 05:09:06 AM
Telephone industry isn't a government though, meaning that it will be different for bitcoin this time because the authority is the one that is going to enforce a ban and anyone who will go against will be prosecuted. Maybe I am wrong and it won't be so different because the power of the people might prevail and the unjust ban will be removed.
1487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First time paying in person with bitcoin: Computer Heads on: July 08, 2021, 12:11:06 PM
I immediately noticed the photo after opening your topic and I was wondering why you didn't blur the face for privacy or security reason but realized you are also promoting them hehe. Did you also tell them to put a sign that BTC payments will be accepted in their establishment?

I haven't really asked any of the owners I encounter whether they would accept BTC or not but I'll be doing so in my next visit.
That's what I was thinking too but I don't think that it's going to be a problem because the face isn't clear for recognition and I think this man is pretty much like any other Americans out there, maybe blurring the face is a good thing just for an added measure. Me too, plus I am too introverted to even do that and I think that not a lot of people knows about bitcoin in my country.
1488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Mining Cause Global Warming? on: July 08, 2021, 11:25:41 AM
~
I agree with you that Global warming has been an issue since way back but we must understand that Bitcoin and even the Energy consumption is just a FUD to always bring the price down or to Hurt Bitcoin by people that don't want to see Bitcoin prosper because there have been reports showing that other sectors of the economy like Banking, even Christmas Lights consume more energy than Bitcoin mining so Bitcoin is not the problem of global warming.
Another reason why they want to divert the attention is so that they won't lose their profits because if they were to be blamed, it's only a matter of time before the people notices that they are the source of pollution and they will eventually be forced to go for the alternative that will cut down their profits really big.
1489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin caused the mass production of altcoins and air coins on: July 08, 2021, 08:57:38 AM
It's inevitable. Not Bitcoin or any pioneer of technology fault. People (business) will do this kind of thing since they smell the opportunity to make money. As long as we continue to educate new users, problems such as scams can go away, albeit slowly.
I mean that's to be expected on almost anything, it's not like people are going to settle for only one product and if they were, then we won't be seeing any other model of cars besides Ford Motors. Also, it's a good thing that there are other cryptocurrencies out there besides bitcoin to make diversification in crypto bucket much easier.
1490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why some millionaires hate Bitcoin? on: July 08, 2021, 07:42:00 AM
~

Indeed, they are more engaged  with something that they are seeing in physical, more on the actual thing and  not

just by specualtions, those rich people who builds empires of businesses are not easily convinced that digital assets

will achieved more supports especially if everything are more relying with specualtions.
The problem with their coldness towards bitcoin is that bitcoin is built on a platform that was rife of scam and it's not like bitcoin was a pure thing because back then it was used by scammers and other malicious people so that impression might really have made them not consider bitcoin. Bitcoin doesn't need this people, they will come to bitcoin when bitcoin finally proves itself to this people.
1491  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Bitcoin be infinite? on: July 08, 2021, 06:56:03 AM
What do you mean exactly by unlimited? The prices or the supply? Because if it's the supply then it's not going to happen because there's only a limited supply of it so I don't think that we will be seeing bitcoin become infinite in a foreseeable future. The prices on the other hand could go up forever if you know what I'm saying, so long as people are using bitcoin, I guess the prices will be infinity.
1492  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency is the biggest investment opportunity in the future on: July 08, 2021, 06:24:50 AM
~

I think cryptocurrency is the biggest investment opportunity at present. It may have been the best investment in the past and will continue to be so in the future, but I think as for Bitcoin we will pass $100k this cycle and $1M next cycle. Global adoption is still starting. There will also be shitcoins that will give spectacular returns. I don't see any other financial asset that is going to give those returns, as there hasn't been in the last 10 years.
Fair enough to call it a big investment opportunity but remember that it's not going to be back to it's heyday when a 100 bitcoin can easily be bought by anyone with enough money. Maybe you are right that the current price is still a big opportunity but I will stand by my point.
1493  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency is the biggest investment opportunity in the future on: July 08, 2021, 05:05:46 AM
I don't think so, the biggest opportunity for a cryptocurrency as an investment wad back when the prices were still good enough that you can buy around 5 dollars a pop not this one although it's still a good opportunity, it's not the same as the last time because you have to spend more and get less in the process although if you believe in the potential, you will know for sure that your investment in that particular cryptocurrency is going to go up in long-term.
1494  Economy / Economics / Re: Vietnam Becomes Latest Country to Turn to Crypto on: July 08, 2021, 04:32:12 AM
~
It is skeptical for me since crypto is not legally recognized in Vietnam; now that they found out how inevitable this trend, they started to catch up on the digital currency race. I was thinking if they could just bring crypto on the local stock exchange to get benefits. But, let's see. Their plan is still unclear.
If the finance agency of the Vietnamese government don't find it a good or beneficial thing to bring crypto in their fray and instead continue with the plan to create their own digital currency then probably we will see some negative effect on the cryptocurrency market because if they plan to create a digital currency then there's a likely chance that they will do what China did as I have said in my previous reply.
1495  Economy / Economics / Re: FOLLOW THIS RULES TO BECOME RICH on: July 08, 2021, 03:49:22 AM
Last would be connected to divine things like on Praying and be thankful on what you do have currently.
Praying is an optional thing, as if the so-called God is going to really answer your prayers. If God was answering them then there's no poverty, genocide and inequality in the world because God would have provided, plus you discredit yourself for doing the job on your own by praising God for the blessings that you created.
1496  Economy / Economics / Re: What role will Bitcoin play in the face of superpowers in the future? on: July 07, 2021, 02:29:30 PM
I think the Super powers are already trying to limit the power of Bitcoins right now. China keeps issuing new warnings about possible future bans. And USA and China both are heavily promoting their own digital currency. Bitcoins will likely play a smaller role in the currency war between the two. So it is more likely that smaller countries will adopt bitcoins to lose dependency on the super powers.
I disagree, the fact that they made their own cryptocurrency means that they were inspired by bitcoin or so because if bitcoin wasn't there in the first place, then in a way, digital currency won't be a thing for a really long time. So technically, bitcoin already contributed to the face off of superpower nations as an inspiration.
1497  Economy / Economics / Re: Vietnam Becomes Latest Country to Turn to Crypto on: July 07, 2021, 11:39:16 AM
Vietnam is thriving, and I've seen popular projects from Vietnamese developers, Axie Infinity is one example.
Is this have something to do with it? Hopefully, the regulations won't negatively affect the community.
Probably Axie Infinity does have something to do with their decision although they won't directly admit that because Axie Infinity is getting much more famous as day goes by. Also, it's still risky to say that it won't affect negatively the community because what they're doing is making their own crypto which means that they might do what China did.
1498  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you define rich? on: July 07, 2021, 11:04:14 AM
~
Time is a scarce resource. The only resource scarcer than bitcoins. Being rich to me means having the luxury of choosing freely how to allocate your time: working, studying travelling, you name it.
Chains are not for the rich people.
But aren't the rich much busier the more they want to make more money? But that's probably just my assumption about it. I'll probably know about the right answer when I get there in some way.
1499  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you define rich? on: July 07, 2021, 10:29:44 AM
As correctly pointed out by others often Rich is equivalent to “free”. Freedom from work, constraints, financial ones above all, is synonymous to richness.
And of course bitcoin is of a great help attaining this.
Don't the rich people have more work to do to keep their money? I am pretty sure that the saying "More money, more problems" is true. I think that we are never truly free because even the birds that adored are chained to the skies, if you know what I mean.
1500  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic was just a start of chaos, wars, or becoming zombies! on: July 07, 2021, 09:56:46 AM
An  ex spy was asked if WW3 would break out and between which countries ?  His  reply was there will be a 3rd world war but it will be a class war  which if you see what is happening around the world  he may just be right  which is what you are saying about the ever increasing gaps between the mega rich and mega poor ...
Also, a classic scorch earth war is close to impossible because the big nations are more focused on the resources than bombs and guns, the bombs will destroy resources so they are now changing their way to wage war against their rivals and enemies, for all we know, the war is already happening.
