1521  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I missing something? (or is BTC destined for greatness and soon) on: October 27, 2014, 04:57:37 PM
It seems clear to me that BTC will hit the big(ger) time and relatively soon.  But some folks (who do seem to have a good understanding of it) hold the exact opposite opinion.  Am I buying into the hype?  Besides regulation (which I don't think will end up being a problem in the Land of Innovation and many other countries), how else could BTC go wrong and turn out to be the fad some say it is.

The major acception by merchants is positve and negative. Positive for Bitcoin adoption, negative for exchange rate, big companies dump the earned bitcoin in stead of holding because allmost all other biznis uses fiat. As long as there are no real option for companies to spend their bitcoins, this will continue.. unless the group of bitcoiners gets much larger Smiley, so spread the word Grin

"Cop Arrests Woman for DUI, Then He Steals Nude Photos from Her Phone"

"California Highway Patrol officer Sean Harrington, of Martinez, California is accused of forwarding nude photos of a DUI suspect from her cellphone to his, while she was locked up in a holding cell."

Follow-up:

"Cop Who Stole Nude Photos From Woman’s Cellphone, Says It’s A “Game” Among Police"

"Earlier this week, we broke the story of California Highway Patrol officer Sean Harrington, a cop who was accused of stealing nude photographs from a woman who was arrested for DUI.

On Friday, Mercury News obtained court documents showing that the situation was more disturbing and more widespread than was initially expected. The victim and her lawyer did suspect that other officers were involved in the crime, and according to the recently obtained documents, there were a number of other officers involved. In fact, it was admitted by officer Harrington that collecting nude photos from the phones of arrested women was a “game” that he and other officers played while on duty."

1525  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Re: How 'Anonymous' is Bitcoin? on: October 27, 2014, 11:39:36 AM

Are paid VPN services useful?
I recently tried out paid version of CyberGhost VPN (http://www.cyberghostvpn.com/en) where you can fake your IP to your choice of country.

Does this provide anonymity, given that we use new BTC address for every transaction?

You can also use Security Kiss: http://www.securitykiss.com/

Private InternetAcces does the trick for me, easy, encrypted and no logs.

Okay..

Im not here to spread FUD...

BUT..

We need something to get back into the game.. We are the 3rd page on bittrex with only 5 BTC trade volume the last 24 hours.

I think we need some games (Dice, Betting, Blackjack, Poker) so we can get some coins around.
All I can see is a coin being mined but has no use at this moment.

You cant have a currency with value that can be used for nothing.

So what do you guys say..?

Shall we get started so we can have a use for our coins?

Merchants, Games and other goods.

I was wondering of we could gather enough bitcoin to break those enormous sell walls against LTCD. So we can see some natural development of LTCD, in stead of this low manipulation by whoever knows. Traders see that LTCD can't go anywhere with those sell walls, so that's a good reason why trading value is low atm.

In my opinion LTCD aims at privacy, so let's start there with acceptation and merchants. VPN providers, AES encryption products, Darkmarkets, spyshops, anonymous, wikileaks, etc, etc. In order to be succesfull LTCD needs more value, which can be achieved by our community and putting together our Bitcoin!!!

Watching ULTC makes me sad:( #wishthatwasus

It's a big pump and dump, look at th pice in about one month, it's better if LTCD doesn't get pumped.

Why not just collaborate with BTCD so you can merge mine LTCD & BTCD at the same time and BTCD can mine both its own & LTCD as well at the the same time, both with individual algorithms sha256 and scrypt working for one another and both sharing the same specs of code whether it be next gen 2.0 or SuperNET,Telepathy.

IMO it will work wonders for both coins using the same things but each with their own Algorithmic mining hardware from different sides of cryptocurrency.

Consider it I say but include merged mining !

We wont since we have devs that are busy enough.. We are going 2nd gen in some months and I cant see any other coins that are doing that..

I maybe stupid, but scrypt and sha256 merged mining equals impossible right Smiley Guess I don't know shit Grin

@Bitcoin Operated Boy - No need to be condescending.  Wink I have been here (LTCD) since the beginning and in cryptos long enough to read thread after thread full of bitching and whining. This thread is quite positive actually. The only reason for me to post anything at all is the community aspect of the coin. I'm not really active on bitcointalk otherwise but I have read every single post in this thread. I can see that there is some propaganda going on here but it doesn't bother me.

What I don't like is when people call others stupid for selling low. It's really not constructive. If someone feels the need to sell, it is their choice and someone else will get cheap coins. That nonsense should just stop imo.

I've also read every post and been here since the beginning.  I think people are tired and frustrated at the seeming lack of positive movement of the price,  which causes people to lash out and call sellers weak. Although I've seen the price drop to 800 and smash through to 1700 in several weeks,  I too am baffled at the stagnation of the price. I do however, believe that trollbyfire is a 1 on a million dev who puts the coin before profit. So.. We need talk of price, and we need talk of features, and lastly we need strong hands to grasp the oars of the community boat that is LTCD

Even to 2700 satoshi's, to which I thought, let's buy some more Grin bad idea..... But I have faith in this community, quit bitchin about price, more emphasis on function, adoption and community building!!
1539  Other / Meta / Re: Need help going anonymous on Bitcointalk on: October 20, 2014, 06:07:09 AM
Best way is to use a coin mixer.

There are many people using mixers these days to stay anonymous.

Mix the coins...

Bitmixer.io small fees excellent service!

Why even go through the hassle of paying to use a coinmixer for this when you can just send the payment to any bitcoin casino of your choice and then withdraw it? If you want further privacy find a site that allows tor and create a new account.

You don't know what logs are being kept by those sites.... the fee of withdrawing is allmost similar to the fee of bitmixer.io
