I don't understand why unity wasn't just distributed to begin with....

Answered here in 2.2

Nice job with the information gathering, thank you.
1522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET asset 12071612744977229797, trading symbol UNITY on: October 01, 2014, 08:25:45 PM
Are there really a total of 1,000,000 NeoDICE units?

Where do I see how many have been distributed / are in circulation and how many were issued exactly?

Initial distribution of shares:
5% NXTventure dividend, 5% SuperNET dividend, 45% Developers & maintainers, 40% Privatebet, 5% JLH

From here: https://nxtforum.org/nxtventures/(pre-ann)-neodice/

SuperNET dividend has been done. NxtVenture Dividend will be done shortly.
I took the following statement from a NxtVenture related posting at https://nxtforum.org/nxtventures/nxtventure-the-way-for-the-most-promising-enterprises-to-get-ae-listing/300/: Moving forward, NxtVenture will be doing combined dividends with SuperNET.
So if I wanted to invest $2K in either NxtVenture or SuperNet, is it best to invest it in NxtVenture or in SuperNet? It appears that they will be doing combined dividend distributions. Huh

It comes down to diversification and what you're trying to achieve. NxtVenture will give you slices of nascent companies with a high potential, but high risk. SuperNET, well, you know what that is. Smiley

Hmm, I did a test 1 UNITY withdrawal, and it's still pending an hour or so later.

Don't lock this thread please.

SuperNET needs a total awareness from cryptocommunity and this is the right place to achieve it.

Plan isn't to lock, just to keep minimal presence here and shift to a troll-free location.
1525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET asset 12071612744977229797, trading symbol UNITY on: September 28, 2014, 10:19:07 AM

you would think it would, but the trolls did a good job and non-trolls were starting to get nervous so I had to get buy walls in place and that took hours to get the million NXT freed up

James

P.S. Do you really think I can just post once about something?

Does it really matter if a few investors get nervous? (If they are going to get nervous about something stupid like a buywall that will never be sold into, then let them sell.) The trolls were just being trolls, I assume most sensible people had put them on ignore. (For me, the last 5 pages was you defending superNET against a series of 'This poster is on your ignore list' posts.) Buywall is now up. If you ignored all the trolls and FUD in this thread, you'd have saved time and energy and money, and done more coding. And the advantage of responding was what?--a few panicky cryptoinvestors felt a bit better.

The bigger SuperNET becomes, the more trolls will arrive. That's one thing the internet has no shortage of. You might think that making the SuperNET a success will decrease the trolls, but no, it'll be opened up to a wider audience, and there'll be a bigger pool of trolls to descend. (The bigger something or someone becomes, the more some people want to knock it down.)

I think you have to give the serious investors in this thread more credit at being able to ignore the trolls. You don't like to leave troll-statements unchallenged though, so probably best to move to the forum.

It seems like most are agreeing that I should just be on the superNET forum, but this thread can be monitored and handled by others.

If so, people will have to understand that I wont respond to them here as I wont even see it

James

I think that is a good idea.

I think so too. Then the answer to any FUD is simply "sign up at the SuperNET forum".
Minimal presence maintained here, with the encouragement to check out where the real action is. Much like the way NXT maintains a thread here but has its own forum, where the SuperNET culture prevails.
Many trolls probably don't even own any SuperNET.

I think the criticism is about how much attention and energy you put into dealing with that buywall issue. You could address that issue once and ignore any future posts about it.

..how about jl777 simply put his word on the buywall issue in the OP - that way he can go on with the coding and the rest of us here can simply link the bashers to that OP comment of jl777 ?

This.

Well. When you read Shakespeare, it's usually about halfway into the third act that one feels the storm clouds gathering. The sensation that something is wrong with how the protagonist is approaching events begins to send the faintest of feelings up your spine. And it's about that time that some mysterious figure appears, cloaked to conceal his identity, and tries to put words on what is wrong.

That messenger is usually cloaked because he is very close to the protagonist in some way. And he sees an impending problem. But to speak openly would also be a problem.

I really don't think we're there.
For the sake of clarity, jl777 is not Caesar here, either  Smiley

Thank you UNO_owner.
I'm sure others, myself included, will aim to chip in as we can. But having someone take point on this is very helpful and reassuring.
Perhaps if you publish your address you will see some gratitude.

Do we have any sense of how many people bought TOKEN? I guess that must be known for NXT through the redemption process, but not on BTer.
Just curious to know how many initial assetholders there were. Might make an interesting note in a history book one day Smiley
about 400 people voted with about two thirds of the TOKEN, so if we assume the same distribution, then about 600 people own SuperNET, which probably makes it the widest held asset.

Hopefully people wont make an issue out of it being too few people.

James

Thanks.

I can't transfer ALL the TOKEN, i am stuck with 574 TOKEN that are not transferable within my NXT client, any ideas?

EDIT: this is the message i get inside my asset transfer dialogue: TOKEN - 0 available for transfer (574 total)

NXT-7Y5B-J8LQ-SL5P-3ULFL (alias: RedeemTOKEN)

If you purchased TOKEN from NXT AE, the above is the redemption address to transfer the TOKEN to.
when the redeem script is run, you will get the SuperNET asset sent. I think in about 12 hours the redeem will be run next by valarmg

If you have TOKEN on bter, it should already have been converted to UNITY and I think by tomorrow it will be possible to deposit/withdraw UNITY <-> SuperNET

James

Open orders?

I feel like this is a huge problem with nxt that needs to be resolved... (Maybe with trustless 2 factor multisig on your phone). I am so worried that if anything or anyone was able to get their hands on my password then what the hell would I do? There is no "change password" functionality. I would need to go through my assets one by one and transfer them to a new account. Followed by sending my nxt(since I need my nxt to transfer out the assets). With bitcoin it's easy because you just send all your coins to new address, takes a second. With nxt you possibly have so many things in your account; this lack of 2 factor or multisig is a massive problem that needs to be solved asap. I feel paranoid as shit entering my password into secureae. My single account holds everything I own in nxt, including a massive investment in supernet. In bitcoin I would have had 90% of this in cold storage but that does not appear to be possible with nxt and is an extremely paranoia bringing feeling.

This is a very reasonable point.
For what it's worth, you can now set up 'cold' nxt accounts. There are instructions around somewhere... someone might be able to point towards them.
I have 2 nxt accounts. One current account, with a few nxt and small holdings of assets in, one account I rarely access. You could set up a cold account and send nxt and assets to it, without ever typing the private key into a connected computer.
Eventually, I hope it will be able to create signed transactions on an offline computer, and then submit them to the network, so that you can arrange for nxt and assets to be moved from a cold account safely. (It may be already, though I'm not quite sure how.)

Thanks. So there is no local wallet.dat file as is the case for other wallets? Nothing to back up?

No wallet.dat.
It's a different approach, has pros and cons. There's lots of discussion about it in the NXT community Smiley
1534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET asset 12071612744977229797, trading symbol UNITY on: September 26, 2014, 03:03:47 PM
SuperNET on AE = UNITY on Bter ?

Yes, but withdrawal is not up yet for Bter->Nxt AE
I am waiting as well. Also need to set up a wallet on Nxt AE to withdraw it to. Are you using an online Nxt AE wallet to withdraw UNITY to or will you use a downloadable one from the following link? http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/

I'm using both. At home I use the downloaded NxT client. Away I use trade.secureae.com.

I'm nervous putting in my private keys on a website, but they seem to be legit.
This is my first time using the Nxt wallet. I first downloaded and installed it from http://nxtra.org/nxt-wallet/ (Mac version). Upon first installing the wallet it selected a randomly generated 12-word passphrase for me and gave me an account ID. I closed the wallet and then reopened it. I entered a different passphrase than the one initially given to me to see if the wallet would still give me access. The wallet gave me access to the dashboard but I observed a different account ID than the one given to me when given the randomly generated 12-word passphrase. Is this normal? Why do I get access to the dashboard and see a different account ID when entering an incorrect passphrase? I guess this stresses the importance of never losing you passphrase; otherwise you have no way of accessing the assets tied to a particular account ID ... I think.  Huh

This is exactly the point Smiley
The key maps to an address, is all. Those 12 words are your key. You can open a new account with any key. If you hold anyone else's key you can open their account. But the odds of someone guessing your randomly-generated key? Effectively zero.

Can't find answer to the biggest questions for investors:

1. How often and when can we see first dividends payouts.
2. Can we keep unity on bter and still get dividends (how will this work) ?
3. Any advantages in keeping unity in personal wallet ?

1. I don't think there's an official timetable yet.
2. Yes. BTer will pay BTC and NXT dividends.
3. Same advantages to keeping anything in your own wallet rather than a centralised exchange (control, security).
1536  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 26, 2014, 09:20:11 AM

So, anyhow, I am having a little bit of confusion about why you feel necessary to jump in to support mmitech's various predictions - this one and/or his previous predictions?

Nevermind. It's not worth the trouble.
1537  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 26, 2014, 08:55:22 AM
and we are back to pre-Paypal news (as expected), I was thinking these past few days and I think that I will start buying back between $100-200.

lol!

At least, he has been thinking... which should help him to formulate more realistic views, unless he's on some kind of fantasy loop in which the thinking does NOT cause him to escape from his fantasy?

I'd be a little careful, JJG. Last time you ridiculed mmitech for a bad decision, it turned out he'd called it perfectly.
Just sayin'

I tryed reading the whitepaper, although I didn't read it to the end. Do I understand right, that basically the idea is safely sending privkeys to transaction recipient?

You can broadly think of it that way, though with various extra safeguards. If you use an address that has never been used before, and there is no way of tracking you outside the blockchain (which is incredibly easy in many cases) then the transaction cannot be traced to you.

Think of it like playing pass the parcel in the dark, except you and the recipient are wearing infrared goggles.

I love this analogy Cassius!!  It's original and it made me smile seeing the mental picture Smiley

You'll appreciate from James' response that it's a little more complicated than that. But this is the 'GUI stuff' version Smiley
