“The SSNs and other information of 29,780 students who went to ISU between 1995 and 2012 was exposed during the breach, but officials said no financial data was exposed.”

Well good, no financial data exposed, just their SSNs! Sadly, I don’t know many colleges who take computer/information security seriously. The smaller the college the worse it is. “We just don’t have the money” is the repeated excuse.

Hello all,

My name is Kevin Beardsley, and I am the new Director of Membership at the Bitcoin Foundation.

let our actions do the talking over the coming weeks and months. years

Cheers,
Kevin

so we know the name of the guy that is now wanting to money grab by advertising to new potential members, and we know that they are slow, so it wont be weeks before change occurs.

Quote
And while we haven't always done a good job of communicating it,

so we know that the foundation isnt working for the community and does not show much in the way of actual tasks, agenda's or future plans of actions... so lets read on, i hope  the email explains a detailed plan of action, a list of tasks to complete, as well as many idea's they wish to bring to reality

Quote
I'd rather keep this email short and let our actions do the talking

hmmm i guess not... another empty content message that has no meaningful content, ah well..

How is it that Kevin Beardsley, the new Director of Membership at the Bitcoin Foundation, isn't even a member of the Bitcoin Foundation, as seen here?: https://bitcoinfoundation.org/members/

How is that I'm hard-pressed to find anything related to Bitcoin that Kevin Beardsley was involved in, let alone mentions, prior to April of this year, i.e. as seen here?: https://twitter.com/kevinhbeardsley

His last Twitter activity prior to April 2, 2014 was in December of last year, then he retweets his first Bitcoin mention. It's not until the 18th of April that he pens something original pertaining to Bitcoin on his Twitter account. In total, since the 2nd of April he's mentioned Bitcoin 90 times via tweets and retweets.

I did find a Kevin Beard and Michael Beardsley on a site that advertises the movie National Security, but when I click any of the actor's names, I'm redirected to porn sites, hence not providing the link (Google Search = "Kevin Beardsley" bitcoin [between the years 2010 and 2012, inclusive]):

In spite of the above, I am aware of... https://bitcoinfoundation.org/2014/05/05/introducing-mark-woods-affiliate-director-kevin-beardsley-director-of-membership/

Quote
“I discovered Satoshi’s white paper in 2011. A few months later, I called Gavin Andresen and invited him to lunch. When he accepted, I took a day off from work, rented a car, and drove across three states to discuss Bitcoin over mushroom risotto. That lunch changed the course of my life and I’m very excited to finally have the opportunity to work alongside Gavin and the rest of the foundation in playing a meaningful role in supporting the global Bitcoin community,” said Beardsley.

...

Meet Woods and Beardsley next week at Bitcoin 2014 in Amsterdam where Woods will lead the International Affiliates Summit on Friday, May 15th. If you are interested in leading a local chapter, request an invite by emailing affiliates@bitcoinfoundation.org. We are also pleased to offer all registered attendees a complimentary annual individual membership to the foundation. Visit Beardsley at the foundation’s exhibit booth to opt-in for your membership in order to participate in our annual members meeting on Saturday, May 17th or email membership@bitcoinfoundation.org with subject header: Bitcoin2014 Opt-In Membership.

From the same source as above, the following...

Quote
Beardsley joins the team from New-York based consulting firm, Fahrenheit 212, where he served as Engagement Manager. Previously, he has led major growth and innovation projects for companies including Samsung, Charles Schwab, Gannett Media and Fisher Wealth Management in North America, Asia, and the Middle East. He has also founded two international companies. He cut his entrepreneurial teeth at Duke University, graduating with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Chinese language.

It reads differently then the following from... http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:MZMwyZQ1No4J:aubau.com/team/kevin-beardsley/+&cd=14&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

During his time at Fahrenheit 212, Kevin has led the development of transformational growth strategies and breakthrough innovations for clients that include Samsung, Mattel, Gannett, Nestlé and Mars.

Another observation: Why does bitcoinfoundation.org have their website set to discourage indexing by the search engines?

People shouldn't have to post their private lives to try to defend their innocence.
If people think someone has broken the Law.
Report it to the police,    anything else is heresay and malicious speculation.
If and Until they are convicted in a court of Law, they are Innocent.

Charlie Shrem, simply charged, steps down for the betterment of Bitcoin.

Brock Pierce, known of his home by his peers in Hollywood at the time as a great place to have sex with underage boys naked in the hot tub, sees no issues with taking Charlie's board seat for the betterment of Bitcoin.

Now that he has the seat, TBF members are resigning so that they don't mistakenly sit where Brock just sat.
1564  Other / Off-topic / Re: There are 2^8 (=256) contries in the world plus one (+1) => 257 on: May 13, 2014, 11:22:18 PM
There are 257 countries in the world. The last two, by alphabetical order, are 256º Zambia and 257º Zimbabwe.

Roman numeral:  CCLVII

Ergo, 257 CIVIL Countries prime for attack.

With apologies to the unnamed Bitcoiner, the following I just did:

Thinking that I'm a mod, a fellow Bitcoiner reached out to me and ask to ban another Bitcoiner, offering up proof why said action was warranted.

My reply:

If I ban him, who would run this forum, for he's theymos, you know?

BTW, I'm not a mod, ergo the above was just made up for humor at your expense. I can only imagine you falling outta your chair upon reading that first line.

Seriously, I'm not a mod, nor never have been. Just a Bitcoiner with the most post.

When your machine is infected with Linkup you will discover that normal access will be gone and, instead, you will be greeted with a warning message which claims to have come from the Council of Europe. The bogus message will offer an explanation of why your internet access has been blocked – it implies that the Council has taken this action because it has detected potential child pornography on your machine:

“The Provisions on the fight against sexual exploitation of children and child pornography on the Internet complies with the provisions of a EU Council decision from December 2003. It gives the police powers to arrest those who are responsible for child online pornography, calls for the creation of the National Centre to combat child pornography on the internet and establishes that Internet Service Providers have a legal obligation to adopt a filtering system to avoid access to sites censored by the Centre.”

I think you'd better read the article carefully and while you're at it, learn a little about how the oil business works in the real world.

The working interests in the South Runway Prospect and the North Guitar Prospect have not been registered by qualification, notification or
coordination, and no permit has been granted for their sale in Texas.

in short they are begging for money before they even have permission to work, prospect, or even dig a hole in the ground. it doesnt even matter if they are asking for bunnyrabbit credits, itunes vouchers, bitcoins, bottles of moonshine. before offering an investment they need to prove they have something to invest in.

...... actually come to think of it.. they are asking for funds to thin air at the moment so technically their lack of 'product' scam is technically a gas.. Cheesy

Mason Williams' Classical Gas comes to mind.

So actually... A warning about a phoney company that is trying to scam people out of their bitcoin. Basically a new twist on a very old oil well scam. But of course here where the government is always bad, it's an attack on bitcoin.

finally someone seeing through the FUD

now everyone else should see that this is not an attack on bitcoin. its an attack on a 'company' that has no oil plots/land/permits. the small bit that is hyping it up is the scammers are using bitcoins for their funding.

its not about bitcoin. i would ask everyone to replace the words bitcoin with the word dollar. then re-read the article and you will see the company is still breaking laws.

I think you'd better read the article carefully and while you're at it, learn a little about how the oil business works in the real world.

<no tin foil hat>

I think Team 3 Letters Inc. is looking down the Bitcoin rabbit hole, pulling out hares along the way.

If I can connect the dots between Imogo and dosarrest.com and itsecurityguru.org, I'm sure as hell that T3L can do the same thing with their infinite resources.

Cryptmint uses the same address as [un]Balanced Energy in Southlake, TX.

Sort of related:

I had a few shares of R17 in the DZ mining co-op. .45 BTC. I asked Matt for a refund at had it in 3 days. Although they provide terrible customer service, I believe he's legit. I've transferred orders and gotten refunds from Matt. He's not scamming anyone.

Looks to me like if Black Arrow is still planning on attending the Bitcoin conference in Austin, somebody else other than Matt Carson will be manning the booth, for I've already shown once how this scumbag can't be trusted.

Remember my post (now deleted, but saved) where I shown that Black Arrow's apology letter was copied and pasted from other sources? Well, are you ready to see C&P again, this time on Matt Carson's Cryptmint site?

Texas oil company attacked by government for accepting Bitcoin investments - an article by The Cryptocurrency Times http://www.usacryptocoins.com/thecryptocurrencytimes/uncategorized/texas-oil-company-attacked-by-government-for-accepting-bitcoin/

Just another of the many ways in which government will continue to attack Bitcoin.

Yeah, and them bastards are attacking Imogo --> BitBlock --> Brosgall Legal --> Bitcoiniacs (right next door)

Given the date on http://www.ssb.state.tx.us/Enforcement/files/1731.pdf, it begs the question: Is Satoshi Nakamoto Candian? Sure would explain the 'or'/'our' spellings away.

Some why, somehow, mainstream media and the SEC are reading my posts, then putting the remaining pieces together. I wonder if this is what Autumn Radtke knew causing her to commit suicide(?).

Q. What’s the latest news with the Miners Co-op?

A. We’ve gone pro! We’re in the process of incorporating the DZ MC itself as a subcompany (shielded from liability from other subcompanies) in our new Crypto venture related company formed with bobsag3 and investors from Miner Hosting LLC, and with a forward looking oil company in Texas called Balanced Energy LLC.

This new venture is called Cypher Trust LLC, and new products may be offered through our site as a result of this new partnership. There are currently 9 core team members and 6 founders. This has led to GPU parts and LTC/ALT coin rigs now being available and a host of other crypto ventures being incubated.

We are now batch purchasing and selling GPUs and LTC/ALT -coin rigs! We currently have 32 GPUs being run in-house as master test rigs.

I sure do hope that Bitcoin-Central is solvent enough to pay me back the 1,132 BTC they/Paymium have been kind enough to hold for me for over a year now due to the InstaWallet "hack".

Who knows what the SEC may uncover as they further explore the Brock-chain while sitting around their hot tub.

i just watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPY-5SR-jPQ&feature=youtu.be

where you mention the Nakamoto Institute. Is this a legitimate foundation? Because the Bitcoin Foundation seems to be fully of degenerates.

That video has ~3X the views then what GoCoin's most watched video on YouTube has, and I'm almost pretty sure it didn't have to secure $550K USD VC to obtain that reach.

My only concern is that Brock Pierce may somehow extract the gold from Goldstein and try to sell on on some exchange prior to it going belly-up.
1576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the biggest threats to Bitcoin? on: May 13, 2014, 11:04:16 AM
The biggest threat to Bitcoin?

The high percentage of scumbags involved. More than half the exchanges have gone bust, most through "take the money and run" operators. The "Bitcoin stock exchanges" had few, if any, real companies that did anything behind them. The "Bitcoin Ponzis" were even worse. Most of the ASIC system vendors can't reliably deliver ordered products. Some of the Bitcoin Foundation leaders turned out to be crooks.

This is pathetic. It doesn't seem to be getting better, either. Look at the crowd behind Sunlot.

I'm just now finding the same lot (no pun intended) attached to some of the exchanges that's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! Is no more! Has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 're makers!

'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If they hadn't fleeced 'im clients 'e'd be pushing up the daisies!
'Er algorithmir processes are now 'istoried! 'Ere's off the net!
'Ey's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir "we's fucked yous up da ass"!!

I've yet to make a connection, but Bitcoin-Central's owner, Paymium, still owes me 1,132 BTC that once was in InstaWallet, and now resides in one of davout's bitcoin wallets, plus some, nicely washed between Paymiums concerns and a notable bitcoin dice site (not SD).

For those that may ne pissed at me due to my recent postings, you have Paymium to blame for me having the red-ass (again, no pun intended). If or when they decide to play nice, I may consider playing nice myself. Until then, I'm on full-tilt.

Now look at all those accused pedophiles.

You should all leave Bitcoin right now to prevent any further besmirching of its otherwise excellent and untarnished reputation.

Otherwise I'll be hereby submitting my resignation to these forums. That'll teach you guys.

I hope you appreciate me goin' outta my way to pen a thread specifically for this occasion: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=607330.
