1561  Economy / Speculation / Re: it proved, no financial derivatives, no trading volume on: February 05, 2015, 12:18:00 PM
Wow. that's almost 90% with all of them combined. and what's more surprising is that kraken share is so small compared to the rest.
1562  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it a Good Idea? on: February 05, 2015, 12:11:47 PM
Definitely buy if you have the fund. And no matter whether the price is going up or down, continue to hold on to it. Look long term and aim big.
1563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will 2015 be bitcoin’s year? on: February 05, 2015, 12:07:35 PM
2015 would a important year for Bitcoin: to live or to die.

Most accurate response in this entire topic.

and false too  Grin

I don't know what others think but I think bitcoin is still at the early stage and each and every year we are making progress. It's definitely not a do or die kind of thing.
1564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We need a Bitcoin trust sidechain for OpenBazaar and BitSquare on: February 05, 2015, 11:58:43 AM
I think the solution would be to have mediators that are paid to resolve conflicts in ratings, similar to arbitrators resolving a payment dispute.

Sounds interesting but I just wonder how are we going to moderate that. There are bound to be loopholes and even by burning bitcoins, there's a gap that people can manipulate in order to fake the ranking. As for the mediators, a person can also be bribed. I don't know. Overall, it's definitely workable and indeed looks to be a very promising and exciting solution to encourage trading. and that is provided if all these potential loopholes have been addressed and analyzed at every angle to prevent manipulation.
1565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bill Gates: Bitcoin Not Best Solution to Global Payments Challenges on: February 05, 2015, 11:51:04 AM
Old news. Practically, yeah, I don't deny that. bitcoin won't be able to solve everything. But it is still the best candidate that we have thus far. And I mean building on top of the current system and improving it along the way. That would certainly be the best option.
1566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When your coins are stolen on: February 05, 2015, 11:45:16 AM
Suicide. These are my precious coin which I bought with the money I earn and some bitcoins getting paid from services
1567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you leaving? on: February 05, 2015, 11:43:48 AM
Have it ever occurred that these people are writing craps just to discredit bitcoin. Yeah, people are leaving and so what? There are probably more inline filling up the spot left by them. If you browse through the beginners section, you can also find newbies telling they have just joined.
1568  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Coins stuck in limbo on: February 04, 2015, 12:42:05 PM
Just copy the address which you sent your coins to and paste it in blockchain.info. Check whether the transaction has indeed gone through.

Usually there might be some delay depending on which server you are connected to and it shouldn't be more than a few minutes for it to show up.

Yours are indeed exceptional case. I have been using electrum for months now and I would say it's almost flawless.
1569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5$ transfer fee between bank accounts on: February 04, 2015, 12:34:58 PM
You call that bad. I had my dormant inactive account which I haven't accessed in over a year getting freezed by the bank and it still has money inside. will that happen to bitcoin? No. Basically with bitcoin you are in control of everything.
1570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm loosing interest in bitcoin on: February 04, 2015, 12:31:07 PM
It's like in a relationship. Give both yourselves some time to cool down and rekindle the memories. Once you miss each other terribly and are back, the bond will be much stronger
1571  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: new to forum on: February 04, 2015, 12:24:35 PM
Welcome to the club! I always told everyone never to look at bitcoin as a short term investment. People get demoralized easily. Instead look at it as long term commitment.
1572  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much is a LOT of BTC? on: February 04, 2015, 12:19:49 PM
Depends on how you look at it but for me, a decent amount should be at least having 100 coins minimum. And to tell you the truth, I'm still far away from that target.
1573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A possible end to free banking - good for Bitcoin? on: February 04, 2015, 12:17:53 PM
Nothing new to this and that is why we need bitcoin as an alternative. We all thought the money is growing and gaining interest but put into consideration the inflation and how our wealth gets diluted as days gone by, and with more printing, we need to realize the value diminishes in the end.
1574  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Hack? &Competitors? on: February 04, 2015, 11:58:10 AM
No and never to question number 1. All those lost coins are from exchangers. As for number 2, none of the alts has ever come close to even replace bitcoin. And I can never imagine if there will ever be one someday.
1575  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoin exchanges are a scam on: February 04, 2015, 11:46:01 AM
Talk about that, I never leave my coins more than a day in exchangers. If I need to trade, I will not hesitate to transfer back again and pay for the tx fees.
1576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: everyone... please contact mcdondolds and ask them to accept bitcoin on: February 04, 2015, 11:42:36 AM
No. There are other food franchise I would rather see starting off with bitcoin. And we don't have to spam the phone line or suggestion box. It will happen some day
1577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin predicting 'chaos and drama' on: February 04, 2015, 11:38:21 AM
If it were to fail, it would have happened long time ago and not after 5 years in existence.
1578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reputation System for Bitcoin addressses on: February 03, 2015, 01:12:48 PM
Not sure how the system works out because there's no in depth details just yet. For one I can imagine if let's say I'm a seller at forum marketplace, can certainly use this as a reputation system to establish whether I'm a trusted seller. This without relying the internal forum feedback system and I can certainly use this similar reputation system on different forum platforms
1579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Reputation System for Bitcoin addressses on: February 03, 2015, 12:47:23 PM
Question we have is that is anonymity so important?

1580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Andreas Antonopoulos invited as an expert in silk road trial on: February 03, 2015, 12:16:52 PM
Now that is interesting. His views and inputs will surely help in the defence case. No wonder the prosecutor objected to the proposal
