Take a good look at the image above (link provided), published on Sep 7, 2013 on YouTube. It's an interview, conducted by M Jude Belanger, of Steve Beauregard of GoCoin.

Notice, that in over 8 long months how many views GoCoin has to date - 41 - with my view making it 42 (the answer to...), of which was not tallied yet due to the way YT does things.

You telling me that with the $550K USD VC they received last November, GoCoin couldn't even get people to search YouTube for their venerable brand, let alone juice links from various social media/websites. Owen Van Natta and the other merry investors probably viewed it once, leaving about a half dozen potential customers jacking-off while waiting to sign up on GoCoin once they go beta from their future (speaking past tense) 7,000 square foot/3-year-lease office in the historic district of some high-cost-of-living city in California.

I mean, think about it, all. Steve Beauregard took time outta his busy schedule of VC hunting to conduct this video with a Serial YouTuber (thought you'd like that), given the reach (no pun intended) Jude has, as seen here: https://www.youtube.com/user/mjudebelanger/videos. I mean, look at those numbers, all! This guy is a YouTube Guru to have so many videos published, so many views, and so many subscribers, it's no wonder Steve "I-can't-believe-she-killed-herself" Beauregard plucked him straight outta the rainbow to get GoCoin's message out to potential bitcoiners.

My guess is that the main reason Jude has sooooooooo many followers on his YouTube channel is because he's happily ensconced with a former child actor, Glenn Scarpelli, rank 95 points below Brock "I'm-not-gay" Pierce, here: http://top-topics.thefullwiki.org/LGBT_people_from_the_United_States

Chad's World to hit the Internet this month

By Jeff Walsh, Oasis Editor

Former teen actor Brock Pierce, whom you might remember from his starring role in First Kid (which also starred Sinbad as the security guard protecting the President's son), is moving from in front of the camera to behind the scenes as the producer for Chad's World.

Chad's World can potentially change the cultural landscape for queer teens online, moving us beyond the printed pages (not that we at Oasis think there's a problem with that medium, mind you) to target marketed television shows. Episodes of the show, which come out every two weeks, will be available as large downloads or streaming video. They will also be available for purchase on DVD, CD-ROM and video tape [on the shelves of your church's library].

So, what exactly is Chad's World? Here's how Pierce, 17, and living on his own [not living alone] in Los Angeles, Calif., who produces the show for the Digital Entertainment Network, describes it.

"Chad's World is a show on the Internet targeted for gay teenagers. I would say it's the first and only show created for gay teenagers," he said. "A boy named Chad starts out living in Michigan. His best friend, Paul, is trying to decide if he should come out or not to his parents. He decides he's going to come out to his parents, and his parents are right-wing type [fuckin' Reagan lovers], Midwest-type parents, and they don't take it very well."

Paul decides to take his life after his parents say they'd rather have a dead son than a gay son.

"The reason we put him there is to basically say that there are other options, because it is a big deal that people face," Pierce said. "The parents of Paul blame it on Chad. They say 'it's all you fault. He's like this because of you.' So, he decides he's going to move out with his older brother, and his older brother's partner, Jim, that live in California, in a mansion-type setting." [filmed in the house where a real Chad, Brock and Marc live, and sit in the hot tub naked with their invited guess, namely...wait for it...queer underage boys]

Chad's new life in California is the setting for the series. [and the writers work hundreds of hours to write the pilot, but tossed it because it sucked, opting to pen a true account - SERIOUSLY!]

"He's out here, and it's him dealing with the coming-of-age, sexuality, everything," he said. "Anything all teenagers will face and trying to decide whether he's gay, straight, bi, he doesn't know, but whatever it is, it's OK to be whoever you are." [or we pull the trigger, now drink the wine, snort the coke, and trust us]

Pierce's own sexuality is also rather fluid.

"I'm not, at the moment, seeing anyone, so whether it's a girl or a guy... I don't want to eliminate myself from seeing anyone, because I like all people," he said.

As a point of clarification, despite not wanting to give any more detail, he said that the issues in Chad's World are not foreign to him.

"I can say I'm very familiar with the issues gay teenagers face, very familiar," Pierce said.

Pierce is willing to come out regarding the direction of his acting career, however.

"As an actor, I'm retired. I think I gave it up. Producing was the next step in the evolution of my career," he said. "I wouldn't say I was ever a great actor, it was just the drive I had. I wanted to do it. And it worked."

Chad's World will initially have eight shows, which will launch sometime in the middle of this month. An actor named Brian Stark plays Chad (pictured at right). The show will be available from the Digital Entertainment Network's site, but the plan is to expand the show and grant other Web sites "affiliate licenses" to rebroadcast the show. Each episode will include commercials as part of the transmission. [rebroadcasting rights, episodes, commercials - fuckin' so genius, they should copyright the idea so that the network television doesn't steal it from underneath them]

Pierce said he's the right age and at the right time to launch such a show. [too bad the rocket was facing downward, or up some guess' ass in the hot tub]

"The Internet is my era. It's my generation that does it better than any generation," he said. "When I grew up is when it started." [once completed, I want to go to Disney, then Spain, then mine and sell gold, then fuck something else up]

---

The Web site for the Digital Entertainment Network is at http://www.den.net/. The site will also do other programming for gay men and other target markets. [heterosexual] Pierce can be reached at darren@den.net

Darren? Now, where have I seen that name before? Ahhhhhh! I remember. Here: http://www.crunchbase.com/organization/gocoin

To quote Tom Mabe:

"Look, look, if gay is your way, that is OK.  I still know there are a lot of you gay people in that closet.  Not saying I haven't thought about it myself, you know?  Go out to Las Vegas or something, buy a couple of drinks.  Cute little Mexican midget."

I'll be Goddamn if I'm going to sit here and take it up the ass from some motherfuckin' accused pedophile lying about his sexuality. If he willfully lies about that, prey tell what the fuck else is he holding back from the Bitcoin community? The general consensus is a motherfuckin' shitload of info.

1582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Bitcoin Foundation a zombie organization? on: May 13, 2014, 07:31:46 AM
I define a zombie member as someone who joined at some point in time but then stopped paying the yearly dues. The foundation left the delinquent members name on the list but they are not really active members.

The individual membership only costs $25 (~0.06 btc), not expensive for any early bitcoin adopter. I do not think members would mind paying the fee, as not until recently, TBF was seen as a prestigious private club.

If that is true, then I can start to understand why the foundation did not let the individual members vote for the new board members. They would have a very embarrassing voter turnout.

Membership fee is too cheap, any interested party can buy 40 "sleeper agents" for $1000. I think not allowing individual members to vote this is actually quite fair.

I am not a TBF supporter, nor am I against it (well a bit... I wish they have done more to uphold the stability of the bitcoin industry/community)

Wait a sec! Is that why I didn't a receive newsletter/email prior to the election because regular members were not part of the voting process? I'm not being an ass here, nor wish for a refund or pissed, but one of the main reasons for me paying dues was to be able to be part of any voting process.

Hi Rassah,

Here's a short description of our charity:

Pastoralist Child Foundation's (http://www.pastoralist-child-foundation.org/) mission is to prevent harmful tribal practices in rural Kenya that prevent girls from achieving their full potentials.  Practices such as female genital mutilation (FGM/C) and forced marriages of young girls are still going on. There's a movement of young and old, working together to eradicate these age-old traditions and replace them with alternative rites of passage and access to education for marginalized girls.  We work in Samburu and Maasai Mara, Kenya.  We also provide educational sponsorships (scholarships) to pay for boarding school tuition, exam fees, uniforms, shoes, school supplies, backpacks, medical check-ups, sheets, blankets, pillows, personal toiletries and iron lock boxes for the girls we sponsor.  In addition, we provide community educational workshops on FGM, forced marriage, teen pregnancy, HIV/AIDS, health and sanitation.

We're a registered 501C3 nonprofit charity in the USA. We are saving lives and working to improve life outcomes in marginalized communities. The links to our website and social media are under my signature.

Thank you. We look forward to your response. We'd really like to start accepting Bitcoins and will follow your instructions.

Best regards,

Sayydah Garrett
Founder & President
Pastoralist Child Foundation, Inc.

Unfortunately, due to the info below, this, too, would have to be a no, with apologies.

Before long pedophiles will be doing senior citizens, I guess.   Huh

Perhaps, not the exact right word, must I believe most know it as man-on-boy.

It is curious that only a handful of people have shown up on the Bitcoin Foundation website to resign from or defend the
foundation. Is it possible that most of the names listed on the Bitcoin Foundations member page are zombie members?

I deeply respect Patrick for publicly stating his concerns regarding the Bitcoin Foundation and essentially igniting a well needed debate. However, could most of the members have already left , quietly, in disgust and without fanfare long ago?

It could be that the Bitcoin Foundation has steered the elections to industry members only because most of the non-industry members are zombies. It would look pretty bad if only 24 individual members voted out of 1500.

I think the Bitcoin Foundation needs to have a public roll call and remove any zombie member names from their web page. Truth in advertising.

Not sure what your ref. to zombies is, but I firmly believe that 95% of the names you see as members are real people using their real names.

I define a zombie member as someone who joined at some point in time but then stopped paying the yearly dues. The foundation left the delinquent members name on the list but they are not really active members.

With that definition: Are 90% of the Bitcoin Foundation members zombie members?

If that is true, then I can start to understand why the foundation did not let the individual members vote for the new board members. They would have a very embarrassing voter turnout.

I personally believe that 80-90% of the countable members are zombie members. Does anyone know?

Thanks for the clarification, bud. Akin to keeping all your listed failed companies on your Linkedin page to make it look more impressive. Who the fuck in their right mind would have DEN as one of their badges of accomplishments?

“It’s weird, like everyone knows there’s this weird thing going on between this 40-year-old guy and this 24-year-old guy, and this 16-year-old boy,” a former DEN executive told ZDNet in 2000. The former executive also thought there “was something wrong” with the show Chad’s World. “I could see a show about college men for a gay audience, but these were boys.”
The suits that Egan filed this month state the parties included drugs, alcohol, and sex, and there was a rule visitors couldn’t wear clothing or swimsuits in the pool area.

Don't forget, Brock Pierce was the executive producer for Chad's World, based on a true story known to everybody intelligent enough to see it except the EP. True or not, some people claim that Reagan got away with what he did (whatever that what is) because he was an actor.

1589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitPay raising $30 million of capital, gives itself a ridiculous valuation on: May 13, 2014, 05:20:56 AM
I'll add some comments about business valuation.

Say I've got a money-tree (like a goldmine with a certain reserve of gold) that pays out $100 every year for 10 years. How much would you pay for it? Well, the lifetime revenue is $1000. But you wouldn't pay $1000, because of the time value of money. $100 in 1900 is worth only $2 today due to inflation of prices, for example. When you have $100 today and accrue interest for 10 years, it's worth a lot more than getting $100 in 10 years. So there's some 'discount rate' every year, so the money-tree might only be worth say $750. The rate depends on many factors, it's just an example.

This is roughly how companies are valued. You look at revenue streams and discount them over some time and then pay for that, minus some risk factor that the company fails. In addition, you may pay for various assets, but sometimes they can be a small factor. After all, assets are only valuable to generate revenue which you already calculate, or to sell. But some assets aren't very valuable when sold. (e.g. if Bitpay or bitcoin fails, its bitcoin payment processing software or its bitcoins will have little resale value. So for Bitpay, revenues are the big factor).

So let's look at Bitpay, they've recently stated in a developer presentation that they process about 1-2m a day. Say 500m a year. They also made public they grow at about 10% a month, which is equal to Coinbase, Blockchain.info and Multibit for example, so it's a very reasonable number. We can also say they take 1% as fees like Coinbase does.

So their revenues are 5m annually, today, and their growth rate is 3x annually. So for the next 5 years that's 5m, 15m, 45m, 135m, 405m.

See now where the 160m valuation comes from? Of course, this is a very rough calculation. For example, they make less than 1% in fees to be exact, it's probably closer to 0.75%. Their 3x growth per year is of course impossible to continue indefinitely, it may slow to 2x or even 1.5x at some point. And I haven't applied the discount rate yet (which isn't huge, by the way), nor the risk that bitcoin fails. (but then, it is *venture* capital). If you value a company on its 10-year revenue stream like is often done, 160m is a very realistic rate.

Now, let's be clear, Bitpay didn't make this valuation by itself. You've got a number of silicon valley / entrepreneurial legends turned investors (top-ranking ones) who offered to buy close to 20% for 30m. THAT is the valuation. These VCs made the valuation. Now you can say it's ridiculous without any arguments, but if I'd have to guess, I'd probably side with the VCs. They're self-made. Not by a single stroke of luck, but by series of successful companies and successful investments. You can be assured they've done their homework.

I'm not versed in how all this VC funding works, but is it possible for an entity to state that they're funding $X, but in reality are not, hoping/knowing that a true source with deep pockets will come along, saying to themselves, "If that entity is in for $X, I'm in for $Y."? Thus, now there's real money, namely $Y, to use for operating, development, pool parties naked by the hot tub, etc. And, not just $Y, but other venture capitalist don't want to be left out of making bank, so they, too, join the flock pumping in $Zs.

Assholes who so willingly spread unconfrimed rumors as FUD like this jerk.

Folks who don't respect anyone's privacy, or who think deviant sexual behavior is at all relevant to the health of Bitcoin.

Innocent until proven guilty. Until there's a conviction, you are slandering people.

Sex negativity hurts everyone.

If my info wasn't so relevant, then sure as hell the mainstream press wouldn't have expanded on it.

I haven't even begone to show, thus prove, the hundreds of millions of dollars being pumped into Bitcoin by shady characters like Brock Pierce going down a black hole with NO CHANCE of an ROI.

BTW, I am not making plans to commit suicide, especially via jumping off the 25th floor of a high-rise building in Singapore and crashing on the concrete landing slab above a garbage bin two blocks from GoCoin's office at 7 AM on a Wednesday because I'm depress over the post I just quoted.

But, if I change my mind, a handful of sick flowers, shown below, would suffice, placed where my body landed, for paying homage to me.

No.

Although Austin now uses a Houston address, an address in Nashville he's associated changed hands, and both the seller and buyers of said home are bitcoiners. That other person is in the travel industry, and I even found a blog showcasing said travel concern that accepts bitcoins.

Hello Rasah and Phineus,

I had PM'd Rasah regarding a nomination for my medical school, to which he asked me to post on here. I'm a student at The Commonwealth Medical College in Scranton, PA and have been pretty fascinated with the Bitcoin concept over the past few months now. I apologize if this note is a bit long, but I figured the more informative it is the better idea your organization may have in addressing my request.

My school is pretty young and has been open for only around 6 years now. It was founded almost only to address the largely unnoticed (nationally) but very significant healthcare gap/physician shortage in northeastern PA (NEPA). The school's mission statement, classes, and massive ongoing community outreach programs (many of which are integrated into our curriculum also) are all ultimately structured to address the needs of NEPA's population. In my few 6 months here, things like free health care fairs (screenings for multiple chronic conditions, free flu shots, education, etc.), educating regional Boy Scouts on various first aid situations/techniques, free symposiums hosting reputed clinicians and researchers on chronic conditions that are more prevalent in the region (e.g. geriatric care), inviting local farmers and fresh food entrepreneurs to share ideas and products that may promote healthier lifestyles for the community, raising funds/awareness through fundraisers and tournaments, conducting/publishing research alongside local health care partners, and constantly holding events to raise funds/goods for local charities are just a few of the ideas I've seen the few hundred students on campus create, lead, and be a part of, solely in the spirit of volunteerism.

The great effort by the school and its faculty to foster an education that holds these community ideals can be seen in our school's mission statement:

http://www.thecommonwealthmedical.com/values

From my understanding after reading other posts and information on your site, Bitcoin100's mission seems to be to increase the use/awareness of BTC by charities more so than just donating to any specific cause. Currently our school's donation page has listed many ways for people to donate, but if Bitcoin100 would be willing, I am willing to go to whatever lengths it takes to speak to the administration regarding adding BTC as another form of donation to this page:

http://www.thecommonwealthmedical.com/oth/Page.asp?PageID=OTH000811

Personally, the cause I wish to use your donation is with a church here directly next to our school that takes a bigger lead on helping a lot of the homeless and long-term unemployed in the city, and currently they are accepting item donations to help families/people that need it. Our school is also helping them in this cause. Being from Washington D.C., I was pretty taken back when I moved here last summer by the toll the economy has taken on this city...something D.C. has sort of been shielded from. I've seen my share of homeless in bigger metropolises (even in India as I'm from India), but seeing such a large homeless and unemployed population in a small city like this is pretty alarming...especially considering how brutal this winter has been.

I've been trying to raise awareness and whatever funds I can, and recently thought of trying to raise BTC for the purpose as well. A flyer our school is running for the church I've uploaded here:

http://s17.postimg.org/qjs8c6lvj/20140221_173054.jpg

In terms of raising BTC awareness, I know through a donation I could definitely make sure that Bitcoin100 is recognized at the medical school and at the church, but I'm not sure if that would be enough for what you require. Although donating to an institution may seem a bit unique, as a student (who is significantly in student loan debt) I assure you that if donations are made for any specific use, such as towards the fundraiser I am trying to raise funds for, they will be used for that purpose and by a student/faculty body that truly does have the knowledge, experience, and passion to make legitimate differences in peoples' lives.

I'm looking forward to your comments/thoughts on whether you would be willing to make a donation towards my efforts. Thank you for your time and your site's efforts that I'm sure have made an impact globally. Feel free to PM me with any questions as well.

Although your cause seems noble, Bitcoin 100 has a strict secular clause that would make us unable to donate to your endeavor. We apologize.

Does anyone else get the funny feeling that this Mr. Swim is actually one of the AMT crew, trying to put some side-spin on this, while not coming out directly as being associated with AMT.  gag order prevents any further explanation/communication from AMT on this forum, and this Swim guy is just plain puzzling.  is it Jim or Josh, trying to make excuses and/or leak info, to buy time?  Alyssa turn on them?  the packaging guy got fed up with is $10/hr job and turned whistle blower?

doesn't make any sense at all.

also, this one is for Phinn, notice the order #333.  33 being the magic masonic number.  maybe its not a coincidence that it is a previously silent customer, with order #333, finally speaking out.

odd, very odd indeed.

I already mentioned it. Also, look at the order list and see where #333 lies: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=463922.0

So I see it as: AMT goes bankrupt and forced to liquidate whatever assets they have.  Everybody gets a settlement out of earnings from the action, that I'm sure was priced accordingly and openly.
