WU could literally decide to make all of their places into the equivalent of Bitcoin atms in a single day if it wanted to. All it would take is them deciding to serve as an exchange. They already do it through a ton of other currencies, they wouldn't even have to make any new software other than a Bitcoind wrapper.

Right... Because they have unlimited bitcoin reserves...

Dude, they would just add a commission on walk-in BTC buy and BTC sells like any other service doing this (of which most are currently online). It really wouldn't be that difficult for them to implement - I'm sure WU (well established international financial business) could afford to buy any BTC they'd need to get started - if they didn't have a system in place with trading bots on some of the exchanges to buy the coins in real time or something else just as clever Smiley

Who here has a load of FC and wants to sponsor some bounties?

For example:

- Setting up a FeatherCoin.org site
- Setting up the first exchange
- Making a Logo and some other graphics
- Setting up a faucet
- Setting up some FC related websites (simple versions of Satoshi Dice etc)
- Anything else worthwhile

This coin has massive interest, and very good fundamentals as an alt coin being based on LTC for fast confirms and transactions, and is ASIC proof.

Litecoin's little brother Smiley

We should make it happen!

What do you guys think?  Grin

I can donate like 3k to help the causes, I feel like staying with Feathercoin for the long run Smiley

Great controbution! I'll throw in 1000 FC myself - I will probably start a bounty thread soon - but let's see if there is any interest / feedback from the devs and such Smiley
1583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DVC - Devcoin on: April 19, 2013, 05:16:57 AM
Hah, DVC probably went up at the same time because of alt coin craze/pump.

Try not to buy DVC as an investment, its not meant for that.

Well, yes and no. When you buy or trade BTC for Devcoin you help increase the Devcoin market cap, which when it reaches a certain point means Devcoin can sponsor people to invent next generation fabricators, among all the projects Devcoin already sponsors. Devcoin is an investment in this sense (helping people invent, create and develop), and of course it is an investment in the sense that it is a well established alt coin which has been around for a relatively long time, has proven devs and a strong community, and due to the projects Devcoin undertakes I would say there is an excellent chance Devcoin price will rise in the future! Devcoin has a unique vision and it isn't going anywhere Smiley
1584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DVC - Devcoin on: April 19, 2013, 03:03:22 AM
So I am just looking into alternate crypto-currencies and I was hoping someone could give me some background on Devcoin. Is it a wise investment? I compared the charts and they seems to match up with LTC and PPC just on a much smaller scale. Thanks for any information.

Devcoin has a great dev team and community behind and a great vision as they pay creatives, developers, and all kinds of people bounties in Devcoin for inventing, producing and creating amazing stuff. Definitely a wise choice for the long term both as an investment and also if you want to support numerous projects Smiley

When the DVC market cap gets big enough they are going to build a spaceship Smiley

I own feathercoin.cc. Will donate with some rules.
If some other domain doesn't find its way first
Like what?.. Definitely interested in setting up the website.

I have no problem with registering feathercoin.org. I think a .org would be more professional.

Do IT, ill add 1000 more in the GiveAway Pool

It's already taken! So whoever has the domain name please let us know so we can start working on the site! (assuming you want help)

1594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WTB 200-300 LTC via Paypal on: April 19, 2013, 01:45:22 AM
Before I knew what I was doing, I tried selling BTCs on eBay.... accepting PayPal payments.

I was scammed out of quite a few BTCs... as almost everyone who paid, filed a claim with PayPal stating their account was hacked and they never sent the money.  I had to refund all the transactions, and still lost the BTCs.

Live and learn... then don't do it again!   Cool

I must've been lucky I sold a few BTC on eBay back in the day for $25 and never got a chargeback - but knew I was playing with fire (and I didn't want to sell my BTC anymore) and didn't do it for long!

Or if you have alternative suggestions, I am open!

Take the time to learn how to get your USD into BTC-e.com and get Litecoins that way. No one is going to do paypal due to chargebacks and Paypal's no crypto policy!

Yeah I guess I will just have to use Dwolla and send it but that takes soooo much time.

AFAIK, BTC-e accepts funding with Paypal

no one accepts funding through paypal.

Except eBay, but coins are way overpriced - probably to cover scamming chargebacks

Exactly. If someone from WU is reading this you are in the enviable position to create the first, global, walk in, BTC purchasing network on Earth!
