I can understand people's doubts about Arsenal. Honestly I have the same doubts about their Champions League performance. Because Arsenal are a very young team right now. They lack experienced players in the squad currently and I hope it doesn't become a serious problem in the long run. Even the captain of the team is Odegaard now.

I don't belittle Odegaard of course don't get me wrong. I'm just saying that he is a young captain now. Xhaka was the previous captain but he signed for Leverkusen this summer.

I hope we can see some good effort from Arsenal in the group stage with the skilled youngsters.

I guess that Kane already showed he doesn't need Heung-min Son beside him. I'm saying this considering the speculations out related to an interest by Bayern Munich in Son. They were a great duo back at Tottenham but they are no more. But this isn't a big deal for Kane.

Kane got 1 goal and 1 assist at the beginning of the season already. It looks like he has started to communicate with his teammates quicker than I thought. This is first season and first matches so I won't still expect too much from him like his performance at Tottenham.

But I can confidently say that this performance was another proof for how amazing player he is.

Tottenham couldn't even finish in top 5 last season while they had Kane. You know that Kane scored 30 goals last season but the team performance was just still poor. If I'm not wrong they finished in 8th place. As long as this team don't improve their team effort nobody can carry them to top places.

Richarlison is the new choice in Kane's position. It doesn't look like Tottenham are in search of a replacement for Kane in the transfer market too.

I think Maddison is likely to play an important role for Tottenham this season. He can make the team more productive with his assists - which he made 2 against Brentford already.

Inter are shown as the biggest title contender this season. I mean that the bookmakers are showing them like this with the odds of 2.75. There is quite a gap between Inter and Napoli in terms of their odds for winning the title. It is still good that Napoli are believed to be the second strongest team for this season. PSG must get used to play without Mbappe as early as possible. I still saw some good things in the match against Lorient. There were some issues with scoring a goal despite the dominance. But this would also get better in time as the new trio in the attacking line are playing together for the first time.

Mbappe can continue to contribute highly this season too. But after this one he is likely to leave the team to join Real Madrid as you know.

PSG are said to be working on an extension of his contract but this time Mbappe seems really determined not to stay. Besides Real Madrid can also offer the same conditions to him.

I agree with Real Madrid's striker problem. They shouldn't just continue with Rodrygo and Joselu as alternatives. I mean that Ancelotti even tried a two-forward system against Athletic Bilbao with Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo. That 4-3-1-2 formation must be an experimental choice of course. It worked in this match and Rodrygo scored a goal.

But I don't think this formula will work out most of the time. Vinicius Jr should play as a winger to be able to have a big impact on the match. In this match he couldn't score or make assist. Centre-forward isn't the best place for him.

But until signing a new centre-forward I guess Ancelotti will continue to try different things.

Yeah it wasn't a good start for Bayern Munich and Kane but I believe things will get better in time. I didn't expect anything from Kane in that match as he was like instantly in the squad of the match. I didn't even wait for him to be brought to this match I mean.    It would have been a big surprise for me if he scored in this match right away.

Newcastle's start was indeed wonderful. It isn't easy to beat a team managed by Emery like this normally but Newcastle just tore them apart by 5-1. After this start I guess that they will be challenging for top 4 again.

When it comes to a title challenge I think that is too much to ask from Newcastle.    To be able to reach that level they should strengthen the squad with more quality players.

Let's just be clear about one thing. Players signing for Saudi Arabia teams aren't going for real competition. They are just going there for money. Players like Ronaldo, Benzema and so on have also gone there for money that's all. Because these teams are offering unbelievable amount of money to players.

They don't have anything such as FFP rules that restricts expenditures. Therefore they can sign whoever they would like by spending whatever amount of money they would like. Neymar is going to be another world star transfer for these teams and no wonder they will pay a lot of money (maybe double or triple the money he earns now) for his salary.

I think this is most probably going to be Mbappe's last season at PSG. He has been added back to the match squad again after being dropped against Lorient the last time. This was the right thing to do as well. Because Mbappe is clearly not leaving this summer. I don't think there is any need to punish him by leaving him out of squad for the whole season.

In the end PSG are still going to continue paying money to him. Why would a player like Mbappe wait out of squad for a year?

Mbappe is a crucial player for the Champions League too. While they have him they had better benefit from his skills as much as possible. By the way there are rumours like PSG could extend his contract but I don't think so.

I was expecting Zaha not to be able to play but it looks like my source was wrong about him. He was still new around here of course and he would need some time to adapt to the league and the team both. First of all I must admit that I didn't like Galatasaray defense in this match too. Kayserispor were able to find quite many goal chances one of which hit the post.

Galatasaray were able to create many dangerous attacks as usual but the problem was with finishing. Icardi was in the match in the second half and found 2 big goal chances. But he also wasted both of headers.

This isn't an ideal start for them but I believe they will improve their performance by the upcoming matches.

Real Madrid were like they threatened Barcelona by starting with a very dominant game to the season. But they still have a weakness now to handle quickly - the goalkeeper. Kepa is the main target now and as far as I have heard there is already a loan agreement between them and Chelsea.

This transfer will be important for Real Madrid in the long run. If they didn't go for anyone they would risk the whole season with only one goalkeeper.

Kepa is a quite decent goalkeeper actually but sometimes he can be inconsistent. Hopefully he can give what Real Madrid and the fans expect from him. 

Bayern Munich didn't look ready in their first game against Leipzig in the German Super Cup. They lost by 3-0. They played the same match last season and won by 5-3. I wonder if we will see the continuation of this bad look for a while. I wouldn't like to be prejudiced about Bayern Munich of course as it is just the beginning.

But it would be for their benefit to pull themselves together as soon as possible to get ready for the Champions League as well. In the end there is only around a month left for group stage matches to start. Most importantly Kane needs to adapt quickly to be able to make the expected level of contribution.

Osimhen's ankle injury is thankfully not a very serious one which causes him to be out for months. He is expected to recover in early September. He will still miss a couple of matches from the beginning of the season of course. But I hope to see them doing fine until then with Raspadori as Simeone is also injured.

There is going to be a Lazio match in the meantime though. It is at the beginning of next month so Osimhen will most probably miss that match as well. It would be an important disadvantage for Napoli in a big match like this. Let's see how Rudi Garcia will deal with his absence.
