Arteta is a really good student of Guardiola indeed. I even started to think that Guardiola's heir at Manchester City will be Arteta in the future. For now both managers are concentrated on their own work at their current teams. Guardiola has reached his ultimate goal with Manchester City as well. Therefore I wonder if he will think of going for new adventures in a couple of years the most.

Arteta is doing a really great job with Arsenal these days. The latest season was a serious level of success for Arsenal I think. They even stayed in the title race for a long time. But due to being a young team they couldn't keep their concentration high on last weeks and lost their title chance.

But this is a solid improvement by Arteta that's for certain. I would like to see him being brought to Manchester City when Guardiola leaves.

Declan Rice deal is soon going to be officially completed by Arsenal. This must be the biggest transfer Arsenal have made in the recent times. Because if I'm not mistaken the transfer fee for him exceeds 100 million euros. Manchester City didn't want to involve this race anymore after Arsenal's increasing their offer to this level.

Declan Rice is a very talented defensive midfielder and he should become a strong bridge between Arsenal defense and midfield. In addition to that he is a player who can make a decent contribution with goals or assists from time to time as well. I hope this deal will be worth for Arsenal in the long term.
304  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: July 02, 2023, 09:36:48 AM
I think having a trio of Mbappe, Messi and Neymar was PSG's biggest chance to go for their first Champions League title finally. However they didn't show the same performance about their manager choice. I was really not waiting for them to sign a manager like Galtier who didn't have a successful career. This was a really big risk to take for PSG.

They took this risk and it resulted in really badly just as I expected. Galtier was even contented with that season just because of winning the Ligue 1 title. But this wasn't a big success for PSG as they were winning this title most of the time already due to its being easy for them.

Finally they have a much more successful manager like Luis Enrique now but the problem is that his game plan is quite different. I'm really curious about what they will do next season with this new system and without the same trio as well.
305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: July 02, 2023, 09:21:32 AM
I disagree, he is still a great striker with a great talent to score goals and there is absolutely no way that he lost any of that talent. The problem could be money and maybe he doesn't worth as much as Spurs wants for him, I can definitely agree to that part but that doesn't make him "bad" at all, he still is a level of talent that can play in all the best teams and he has been like that for like 5+ years now, so the talent to play is there but money could be questionable.

This is why the part I agree with would be finding either cheaper or even better talents, either you find someone better than Kane, or you find someone that is cheaper and close to his talents. Osimhen is the same, he definitely is a great striker, but not 180 million euro worth at all.

I agree that Kane is still an amazing scorer. He is more than a scorer though. He is one of the best complete forwards in even football history in my opinion. He can perform superbly even for Tottenham which struggle to have an achievement. This season was horrible for them but Kane still finished near Haaland in top scorer table - 30 goals vs 36 goals.

I'm very confident that Kane can be this much productive for at least 4 or 5 more years. But definitely the problem is money now. Levy is so obstinate about keeping him at the team unless he gets the amount he would like for him. That amount is a really huge one for a striker at this age.

I don't think Bayern Munich would be willing to pay 100+ million euros to sign him while there are cheaper and good alternatives such as Vlahovic.

307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: July 02, 2023, 08:45:30 AM
the question is, if indeed Liverpool are able to sign Mbappe with money worth € 300 million after that will Liverpool be able to give Mbappe a salary after spending a lot of money to sign him? I don't doubt Liverpool's finances but here the problem is that Mbappe is the most expensive player and has a very high salary and only certain teams are willing to take risks to get this top player.
from another opinion Liverpool also have to compete with other teams who are after Mbappe and this is what makes uncertain rumors always spread because no team has dared to take Mbappe to be added to the attack line.
But I always keep in mind that nothing is impossible, maybe Liverpool are desperate to sign Mbappe and maybe someone else will get in a bit of trouble.

I think there won't be any other competitor than Real Madrid for Mbappe. Because there hasn't even been a single speculation about an interest by another top team recently. His cost is too much for even rich teams so they also think twice before going for a move. Most of them choose to bring more players in a transfer window to strengthen more than one area by paying a lot less money than that.

I can't imagine how Liverpool would look with Mbappe and Salah in the attacking line playing together. These are both world stars and having this big stars in your team at the same time is always a risk as well. PSG did it great with that trio though but we never know what would happen in a different case.
308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: July 01, 2023, 09:33:04 AM
It is going to be Ancelotti's last year with Real Madrid. Because he has reached an agreement with Brazil to start managing them by next summer. In this last season of his at Real Madrid I'm pretty sure that he would like to do his best for another successful year just as it happened in the 2021/22 season.

But he has a quite difficult task to perform in both big tournaments they compete. While Barcelona are way more competitive in the La Liga, the Champions League has got even more challenging for them as well. Manchester City have finally made their dream come true. They simply destroyed Real Madrid on the way going to the title too.

Real Madrid need to work on their defense and they need to sign a powerful striker for the Champions League. They can again become one of the biggest favourites despite the bookmakers' thoughts.
309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 01, 2023, 09:22:30 AM
~snip~

I have come across with this news now. It looks like the source I looked into first wasn't telling the truth.  Grin  There is already an agreement for 40 million pounds and the deal is soon about to become official. This must be great news for Maddison and Tottenham both. Because Maddison won't have to compete in the Championship anymore.

For Tottenham it must be really nice to have an attacking midfielder. I mean he is going to be the only player whose main position is attacking midfield. Tottenham have been a team using various formations so I don't think Maddison would have any issue with having a place for himself in the lineup.

Besides he can play as a central midfielder and even on the left wing if there is need. Versatility is also a positive for both sides.
Players have their priorities and they make their choices but if I were Maddison, I would not want to involve with Tottenham now they are not playing in any Europe competitions. They are not also sure of going home with any trophy coming season. While we all solicit for Harry Kane to leave Tot for a trophy career, Maddison really wants to join him.

But it will be a good business for Tottenham if this happens. But who will score the goals since Kane is leaving?

I assume that there wasn't any other offer by a Premier League team except Tottenham. Otherwise I would have totally expected Maddison to accept an offer of a more successful team. But this is still much better than getting stuck at Leicester in the second league of course. Because his quality would have been affected negatively in the other case.

When it comes to Kane situation it is still doubtful about whether he will leave. Because as far as I know he has got only one offer so far which was by Bayern Munich. It wasn't even near meeting Tottenham's demands. You know how adamant Levy is now about keeping Kane unless there is an enormous offer just as he would like.

But if Kane leaves this summer things are going to get even worse for them surely.
310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: July 01, 2023, 09:17:05 AM
Have you heard of the news about Liverpool's possible offer for Mbappe in the near future? It is said that Liverpool will offer 300 million euros for him. I think PSG would be really willing to sell him in case there is an offer like that. Because even though PSG have to pay a lot of money to Mbappe in case of selling him early they will still be in a serious profit.

It is much better than letting him go without a transfer fee surely. In this case I assume that Liverpool wouldn't be the only team to make the same offer. Real Madrid have been monitoring his situation for a long time. I would expect them to meet the demands of PSG and Mbappe both undoubtedly.

In this case I don't think Liverpool's chance would be higher to sign him.
311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: June 30, 2023, 08:30:36 AM
Currently, the only player linked to PSG for the next season is Martin Ĝdegaard but since there are many other players who left PSG at the end of this season I still don't know how they are going to hire Ĝdegaard for the next season. Especially when PSG is still no sure about their coach and all we hear about the coaches for the next season is just Zidane and Enrique's names and nothing is clear yet for them.

He is linked but the probability is really low as it is seen clearly. Odegaard must be satisfied with the interest coming from one of the biggest teams in Europe. However as far as I know he doesn't have an intention to leave Arsenal for now. He had a wonderful season in the EPL and he is going to compete in the Champions League also.

Besides he still has 2 more years with Arsenal according to his contract. He even looked keen on extending his contract in the future. I don't expect to see him leave at least for this season. But next summer we never know what can happen.

If he shows a superb performance again then it wouldn't be easy to keep him for Arsenal.
312  Local / Ekonomi / Re: Asgari Ücret Tahmini (2023 Yılı İçin) on: June 30, 2023, 08:24:55 AM

313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: June 28, 2023, 09:14:07 AM
It is true that Germany was not among the main favorites at the World Cup in Qatar, but almost no one expected that they would not be able to make it to the knockout stage of the competition, it was still a big surprise.
I really expected that Spain and Germany would definitely go from that group to the knockout phase of the competition, but Japan really played very well at the World Cup and they must be congratulated.
Germany was the world champion less than 10 years ago, and now they can't even make it to the knockout stage of the world cup, their decline is really surprising and shocking. Realistically, they are not among the favorites for next year's EURO.

Yes it feels really different to see Germany in this situation. They were like the dominator of such tournaments many years ago. It was their golden age certainly and it looks like it has come to an end for now. There is a big difference between the players of those times and now though. Because now we can see many more quite young talents in the squad.

The squad's overall age is quite low but I still don't think this is an obstacle for being more successful. Because it is still full of many talented players. They just need to improve their team play more than this. If they start to play in coherence with each other more in time they can slowly bring back the old times maybe.

Tottenham are chasing James Maddison transfer. They have launched their first bid around 40 million pounds for him. However Leicester aren't keen on dropping down from 60 million pounds for now. There is a significant gap between two offers and it doesn't feel like this transfer can be completed easily.

Maddison still has one more year left to go on his current contract. I don't know how eager he is to continue to play in the English Premier League now. But I believe he absolutely belongs with the league. The Championship is quite below his level and it wouldn't affect his career positively either.

If he insists on leaving then maybe Leicester can be okay to drop down by a little more in the asking price.
But I think while his career is in a good stage for now Maddison should leave Leicester soon to join Spurs and if he doesn't then his name will start to fade away and then fade away because he is rarely seen in the EPL. We know that Leicester have been relegated this season and many of their players have left for other clubs and it would be a shame if Maddison still stayed. I think Spurs need to raise their bid a little more to say 50 million euros to be a little closer to Leicester's wishes and however Leicester right now also need funds to improve the financial condition of the club, so they won't make it difficult for Spurs to get Maddison.

Why did Chelsea sell Kovacic to their rival?

I was also surprised with this news honestly. Let's say Kovacic didn't have much playing time there then it would have made sense. However there was no such situation either. He has been a regular in Chelsea starting lineup for years. I would have said that it was maybe due to his performance. But it was a horrible season for Chelsea so everyone was inadequate in performance.

At least they shouldn't have sold him to a rival team in the same league. Manchester City have newly lost Gundogan and it didn't even take them a long time to fill his place. They have filled the place with a really solid midfielder like Kovacic. I don't know what Boehly is really planning to do with this.
316  Local / Ekonomi / Re: Banknot Problemi on: June 28, 2023, 08:26:09 AM

I think it is good to have fresh threads about big European leagues. Because indeed such threads related to those leagues have turned into mega threads and people have to post there when they want to discuss a topic related to the leagues. I also know those two alternative EPL subjects @Despairo mentioned but they aren't the same with this one technically.

One of them is a pool thread on which only pool participants are allowed to make posts. The other one is a self-moderated thread and not everyone is keen on posting on such threads as far as I can see.

319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: June 27, 2023, 09:07:27 AM
It is too early to make sure about Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Because it hasn't been even much time since we entered the summer transfer window. There is a long time period ahead of the teams to make their signings and be prepared for the Champions League journey. Until finding out the final version of their squads it is difficult to be confident about something.

Both of these teams are likely to sign a solid centre-forward in the summer for example. Real Madrid have signed Joselu of course but I don't think they will rely on him after Benzema's departure. Bayern Munich must have also understood that they can't do much thing in this tournament without filling Lewandowski's place with a player who has a similar role.

Even only a centre-forward transfer can make a big change for both of these teams about achieving their goals.
It's too soon to draw solid conclusions about these football colossi. The summer transfer window just sprang open, enabling infinite outcomes. Enhancing their front line? Quite feasible! Agree, Real Madrid roping in Joselu isn't the antidote to their post-Benzema puzzle. He's able, but does he mirror Benzema? Nope. And Bayern Munich stepping into Lewandowski's boots is like trying to switch a lion with a pet cat! As for the Haaland angle, even amidst a stronger midfield, the chances of outdoing Ronaldo are slim. Its not a goal marathon, it's about the quality and the timing, agreed?

Yeah it isn't a goal marathon. The only important thing at this point is to find the right player who can make the needed level of contribution. There is quite a big time period now to make their decision on a player. The only downside in this is that there might be some other team joining the race as well by raising funds for that player or for some other reason.

But we are talking about teams like Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. So there aren't so many teams in Europe that can convince that player to play for themselves instead of these two teams. There is still nearly two months to go for new season to start for both teams so let's see what transfers we will witness from them.
